Excellent buffet lunch. I have not been here in awhile and dropped by for lunch on a day that I got off work early. This place does not disappoint. The food was appropriately either hot or cold, and the buffet and dining area was clean and frequently checked by the staff. As soon as I entered, I was immediately greeted and shown to my table. Numerous eager, attentive, and courteous staff members were constantly roaming clearing plates, refilling water, and insuring that all was in order. My favorite part of a good Indian buffet is the ability to get small portions of everything and try something that I would normally not order. The okra dish was my pleasant surprise of the day. It was an amazing place. The food was great. They have a variety of spiceness which was great for a family with 3 kids under 13. They all enjoyed there dishes the Mango chicken, shrimp curry and cheesy naan bread for the little one. The portions were generous where everyone could try the others dishes. The food is very bland. We ordered several dishes with medium spice, and we had to ask for salt because it tasted like it had no seasoning. They do give decent portions, but for the quality of food, it is very overpriced. They even charge $3 for onions/chili pepper, which is something that should be given with every dish complimentary. The naan was overly buttered. The gulab jamun were tiny and tasted like they were from a can or premade mix. The service was ok. The wait staff could be nicer, and maybe a smile wouldn't kill them. The place does look nice, but they also keep it extremely cold inside. We had to go to the car to get a blanket to cover ourselves. A friend recommended this restaurant and I was a bit hesitant because my experience with buffets is the food ends up being way overcooked and old from sitting too long. This was not the case at this restaurant. Everything on the food line was nice and fresh and delicious. I took about 1 tablespoon of each item so that I could taste everything. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting to pick what I wanted to go back and get more of. One of my favorites was the Tandoori Chicken and the Gajar Halwa. My least liked was the Vegetable Pakora. Service was great. The waiters cleared or dirty plates attentively without us feeling rushed and refilled our water several times. The place looks very clean. I've been missing Indian food for a minute now and finally decided to give this place a shot, after lurking their yelp for weeks. Boy was I glad I did. The food here is beyond tasty. I ordered the veggie samosas, I love how they add spice to the filling and season it properly, I think this detail is commonly overlooked. I also ordered the butter chicken which was also delicious, I would get it spicier next time, but overall the sauce was well balanced, and I could literally drink it. The garlic naan was also yummy. Two of us ordered vegetable samosa (least favorite item, was just ok, but still decent) and three entrees: butter chicken, paneer saagwala, and lamb khora. All were excellent. Rich. Spicy. Flavorful. I was craving Lamb curry, Briyani, tandoori, butter chicken and gulab Janum. That would be a bunch of dishes in one seating, sounds like a buffet, right? Nope, no lamb curry or real briyani, even the naan tasted like those frozen one you get at the store. All Indian buffet I went to have all the selection/dishes above. Yesterday buffet lunch felt like we got short changed. There were chicken pakora, yellow rice (is ther briyani? Doesn't taste like it), white rice, two vegetarian dishes, tofu dish, tandoori, chicken curry, butter chicken (only small cut and pieces swimming in it. The food was flavorful but that's it? It was only 1.20. I've been to other buffets close before the close but they have more selection. But there's mango lassi. No other buffets put this out for free flow. One dish makes me wonder- why is there fried noodles? More dishes please. Unless you giving me a discount because I came to what not even closing time... i feel like I didn't get a fair share of the buffet. I feel that I should drive down further to Capital village and go to that Indian restaurant next to noodles and co. Service was good. Although it was a lil noisy. The restaurant itself was immaculate and has an upscale feel, the service was prompt, and the food was extremely fresh, hot, and delicious. The child was shrieking non stop, throwing utensils down and we decided to pack up our dinner and leave. I spoke to the manager and he apologized and said they should have sat the couple on the other side of the room. Also the waiters have limited use of the english language. I ordered a gin and tonic and he says do you want a shot or double shot and I said just a Gin and tonic. He comes back with a shot glass with gin and a little tonic. Lunch buffet prices have gone up and there was no mention to an increase of price anywhere listed. 3 people for buffet and 3 chai's later was 85 dollars. No way we ate that much in value and chai is an extra cost now. It's a shame our favorite nearby buffet spot has become so expensive. I understand the world and all the price increases going on, but just bummed when it came to pay what a shock it was. Buffet used to be 12.99. Also website said the cost was 19.25 but we were charged 25. Food is good it's no doubt we would rather spend that much on something we can at least take home for later. read more
