Went for birthday lunch. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted every though it was very busy. Our waitress cleaned a table for us and seated us promptly. Simple straight forward menu: that's a plus. Everything sounded good. However, I don't like paper menus because i don't think they're clean. They get passed around from table to table, person to person and they don't get wiped down. We ordered right away. Drinks were served quickly and then we waited and waited. Our waitress kept checking on us and kept our glasses filled, but it took over an hour to get our food. When we did get it, it was fresh and hot. I had the French Dip. Beautiful, fresh warm bread that soft, but held against the jus. The roast beef was beefy and had that perfect bite with melty Swiss. I prefer chunkier fries, but they were still delicious. They were cut shoestring style, made fresh, browned and salted just right. I guess I prefer other fries because I dip my fries in ketchup and I wind up having to use a fork to get the last bit of fries. Anyway, my daughter had the vegan burger with green chile on focaccia. You could smell the fresh roasted green chile before you take a bite. The black bean patty was hearty and beautifully complimented the heat and flavor of the chile. I had the German chocolate cake. You can tell it's made from scratch. Not too coconutty and the coconut had a fresh texture. I could taste pecan, but it doesn't hit you over the head with it. The same with the chocolate ganache and the cake. I assumed that my sister's food was good because her sandwich and cream puff thingies were gone before I could taste them. Definitely, will return, but not sure if I can be late to work again. Note: bathroom very clean, but no paper towels. A warning for guys: a cow will stare at you in the face when you go. We ordered at work and picked up and everyone said what they got was fantastic, I got the biscuits and gravy and accidentally got the veggie gravy and it was probably the best gravy I've ever had!!! OMG, if you've never been to this place you need to. The vibe is super cool and vintage, the staff is amazingly friendly, and all the art on the wall is up for grabs! They've got a pretty standard cafe-style menu, but you can see they take a lot of Pride and all of their fresh ingredients which is a huge bonus. This visit I decided to just have the Italian chocolate cake and the Cuban espresso, and both were absolutely perfect; the cake was very moist without being too sugary, the frosting was very well-balanced and not greasy. The Cuban shot had the perfect amount of cinnamon and sugar in it and was very delicious. If it wasn't so late I would have decided to eat, so I will have to come back and try out some of their menu items like the burgers with sandwiches which look amazing! Oh. My. Word. I just finished the most delicious, bursting-with-flavor turkey club sandwich I've ever eaten. I've no idea how they prepared the roasted turkey but it is incredible. I did tweak it from the default menu item (cheddar instead of Swiss, no avocado or citrus sauce) but I'm sure many folks will gobble it up as originally designed. The bread was also fantastic. The homemade fries were also terrific (thinner than most homemade fries) and generous in quantity. To finish it off, I had a slice of their 4-layer chocolate cake with Italian creme cheese icing. Though I was expecting a flavor more near my all-time favorite cake, Italian creme, it was good, too (it tasted more nearly standard icing than Italian creme). My server, Ryan, was great, too...just the right amount of "How are you doing...everything okay?". 5 star ratings are few and far between from me...Indulgence Bakery & Cafe earned one today! read more

This cafe is a gem. They have great food. When i went, I tried the crepes and I'm glad i did. The crepes were thin, light, and fluffy as a crepe should be. I am a regular here. Everyone knows me, I call and order "the usual" which is a Swiss Chick and side salad. Sometimes I get the soup on the side because many of them are also delicious. Carrot bisque, chicken enchilada, and lemon artichoke soups are honorable mentions. The dessert here is the best that you'll ever try in your life, shattering your expectations of what chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies are. I was in town with family to visit a loved one in the hospital earlier this week. While there, we looked up restaurants with good ratings in the area to eat at. This place showed up and we decided to try the place out. We got there around noon-1pm and it was occupied by a few patrons but not busy at that particular time. We decided to get Turkey Club and I got the Macaroni and Cheese as these were what the waitress recommended. They also came with side salads and our choice of dressing (well, my second as they didn't have French) and we chose ranch. The wait for our food wasn't long and the salads were alright. I don't know if you can add extras to the salad (such as bacon bits or croutons because I didn't ask) but I should have. It wasn't bad, just, as salad goes, it's not the main piece. I cannot comment much on the Turkey Club outside of saying they liked their food and finished it, so that will have to suffice. The macoroni and cheese...what to say? It was DEE-licious. Oddly enough, I've been to only one place that failed at making such a dish...this was not that place. It was baked and had this breading on top but was creamy underneath. I remember taking half* to our hotel as I was feeling a bit under the weather; I would have finished it otherwise and probably grabbed a to-go order (as I wasn't going to be in NM that long). I'd definitely recommend this item on their menu. So good. *felt better later that night and finished it off As far as drinks, we had our standard Sprite and Coca Cola ( I assume it's Coca Cola based products here). I will say the sodas tasted a bit flat, but since we only went the one time, I can't go again for reference. Also, the drinks didn't initially come with straws. I didn't care; the other people I was with requested them and got them. So, if that is a thing for you, simply request it and it will happen. They also had quite a few baked goods there to buy. One of us bought over a dozen of them but I didn't get a chance to eat any of them so I cannot review that. They did look good though! I also noticed artwork on the walls that were for sale. In our booth, they ran about 25 bucks. I guess that's something they do. I didn't ask about it, it was just an observation. The last thing that I liked was that it was a mother-daughter ran establishment. I didn't know much about it other that we went on a reviewer's rating. The reason I bring that up is that the mother was there and asked us how the food was and we told her it was great. I liked that they both worked there and it wasn't just an image (which I didn't realize until I looked it up, after the fact, on Facebook). All in all, I'd definitely recommend it if you're in Las Cruces! If you're in, definitely try the Macaroni and Cheese, maybe buy some art, and try some baked pastries. read more
