Saw this online and drove in from El Paso just to try some sweets. OMG! Finally a real bakery. Hooray! The cheesecake was delicious as was the carrot cake. The key lime pie was a touch too tart but pretty good none-the-less. You can taste the fresh ingredients and labor that went into these desserts. Was passing through town this afternoon and saw that this was highly rated. Ordered a very simple cranberry nut salad and iced tea. The cranberry nut salad and raspberry vinaigrette dressing was delicious and the iced tea was good. The reason I am really rating this place 5 out of 5 was the exceptional service from the staff behind the counter and the cash register. This place seemed very busy as it was just after lunch and people were buying up the delicious pastries. The staff checked in regularly while I waited for my order and double checked to make sure my preferences were met. This was beyond attentive for a "to go" order. Keep it up! read more

Nice little place for breakfast and lunch. Good variety on the menu. I had the rustic frittata which came with a salad, and my husband had the biscuits and gravy which came with eggs and sausage. The biscuits were very nice, I will order the biscuits without the gravy next time. Cakes and pies in their bakery window all looked delicious. Took home some baby cream puffs for later. After reading the reviews we decided to give this a try. Always looking for great places to dine. The restaurant/bakery was crowded at 11:30 and it stayed that way through our breakfast/lunch. We ordered the biscuits and gravy with over easy eggs, and the chicken sandwich with fries. The wait was a bit longer than usual, but we decided it was due to how busy the restaurant was. My husbands eggs were overcooked, which was a big disappointment for him and he thought the gravy was a bit so-so. My sandwich would have been great had the biscuit not fallen apart upon my first bite which made it a sticky mess to eat. It was, however, delicious. The chicken was crispy, cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfect. Our waitress (who we did not get her name), was wearing a brace on her right arm due to carpal tunnel but was extremely friendly and attentive. Kudos to her. We did take home a pastry which is quite yummy. I would come back, and try something a bit easier to eat. read more

First time here and the atmosphere is so relaxed and lovely. Very vintage in a way! Staff was very kind and accommodating. Friendly to my four year old and perfect for families or a little coffee date. The location is unexpected but brightens up this street. I absolutely love this place! I've been here 2 times now and each time it never disappoints. The first time I visited I got the biscuits and gravy which were delicious. As an avid B&G girl, I'm tough to please when it comes to a quality serving but these took the cake. The second time I visited I got the breakfast tacos with chicken and the red sauce was so good (and not too spicy) I took it home. The coffee is awesome, the staff is attentive and kind and I love the atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be bringing everyone I know to try it out. read more

We loved our breakfast here. Highly recommend the breakfast biscuit sandwich- fried chicken, bacon, gravy, eggs, all jammed on to a biscuit! The bakery case was full of 10 different kinds of cakes (cheesecakes, Italian wedding, death by chocolate, tiramisu, etc.), as well as cream puffs. Excellent food and desserts. One less star for lack of nut free options and early closing times . I have visited this place a few times. Nice staff but when it comes to desserts the have a lot with pecan or almonds only a few nut free options are available. Secondly they close early and for 8-5 people it can sometimes be difficult to get down there before they close. read more

We had a wonderful birthday lunch for two friends here. All but one of us had the delicious mushroom crepes. I don't even look at the menu. They are that good. The desserts are amazing and service was good. I rated a 3 because I was disappointed with the mushroom crepes..they used canned mushrooms. To charge $12.00 and then use canned mushroom was very disappointing. Some of the pictures I had seen on previous reviews it did not look like they were canned mushroom so this might possibly been a recent change. read more

I'd been here for the coffee but never for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised! I chose the Swiss Chick and a lemon artichoke soup. I started with the soup which I expected would have big chunks of artichoke. It was creamy smooth and delicious. I was a little puzzled because there was a little soft round "something" in the soup so I asked. Pearl pasta! I highly recommend the soup. The Swiss Chick was a marinated chicken sandwich on homemade focaccia bread. The bread was super soft! It had mushrooms, Swiss cheese lettuce and tomato but the garlic aioli is what gave this sandwich a great flavor. Service was great and I'm about to hit that dessert case here in a minute! read more

My husband and I had lunch here last week. Breakfast is served all day and when I spotted the Swiss-Mushroom Crepes, I looked no further. What an indulgence! Three crepes stuffed with 'shrooms and cheese, smothered with a light sauce and more 'shrooms and cheese. I barely made it through 11/2, and they were just delicious the next day, too. My hubby had the turkey club with corn-chicken chowder. He loved them. Yummy lemon bars went home for later. Service was great. I will go again...soon! read more
