The Good & The Bad, yet still gave 5 stars!! ....So my husband is an exceptional man, whoops, I meant to put 'frugal' before 'man.' He has done well in his life (in many aspects, including financially) and he feels strongly that he deserves every penny he has ever earned. However, he also feels that life should be enjoyed, and does not mind spending money on purchases he can justify for either bringing joy to his family, or himself. He just demands one thing, he get a great deal on them. Often times, he'll spend more time 'researching' the things he is interested in purchasing for many more weeks/days/hours then is justified because often it only amounts to some marginal percentage off. Admittedly though, sometimes he finds exceptional deals/values in this research so I will never break him of this habit. Now you know the man (ok well not really.. he's far more complicated and lovable). So for my birthday he tells me that he is finally going to get me a ring that he promised me over a year ago. His frugal side likely told him 'two birds with 1 stone.' So he had me pick out the details of what I wanted in/for a ring, and then he did his nerdy little research and dragged me (ok I willingly went) to at least a dozen Jewelers to see what they would charge to make the ring we wanted. 90% of the people at the stores were either 'phony nice' (which drove my husband nuts) or took us for either suckers or window shoppers. We dispatched the majority of them. But a number of them were acceptable enough for my husband and I to ask for a quote. Somewhere in the middle of this activity, we entered International Diamond Co, and met Nick. The interaction was a little odd at first because Nick was a little to soft spoken and not the typical 'sale person' we had come to expect. We went though the normal explanation of what we were looking for and what we wanted made. Nick came back with a price that made my husband later tell me 'THATS the price I want to pay, not these jacked up prices from the other places.' I was skeptical and said 'ok honey, but you better hope he is legit.' We asked for the guys business card, and he gives us a generic one, and scratches on the name 'Nick.' We didn't close the deal yet, my husband went home and kept price shopping and we visited a few more store. 2 days later though my husband calls nick, and to his surprise finds out nick is a little more then just jeweler of the week at the store, he is part owner. So my husband gives him a deposit on the ring, required to get past the first phase, the creating of the WAX MOLD (that was the tough part, we had to 'trust' Nick before he had to trust us). Nick claimed the whole process would take about 2.5 weeks. 1 week to make the wax mold, 10 days to make the ring. Reality is it took almost a month (the wait almost killed me). But Nick had an exceptionally good reason for the delay, the ring has over 200 diamonds in it, placing them took a very long time. Now for the results... ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. This ring (just received it today), is the finest piece of jewelry I own. I am on cloud nine, I have looked at it at least 5X as many diamonds as it has, and I continue to be blown away by its quality and beauty. My husband is so impressed he has commissioned Nick to create another beautiful masterpiece (that my husband and I have created by taking picture snippets of other rings and asking the various things we like to be combined into this one new ring). If you don't hear from me again (within say a month or so), then assume the second ring was just as spectacular as the first. If it is not, I will share that result also. But given the experience we have received this time, we have no doubt this next one will be just as exceptional... or better! read more

The owner Aneeq Ahmad its a piece of sh*t, such a garbage and very poor communication skills. Very unprofessional, unreliable, and the store it's a scam!!! Worst customer service by owner and the lady that works there. They are diamonds are fake they are selling staff without even proper marks like 14k or 18k there's none on the ring!!! I purchase a ring on October 13. They told me the ring will be done in 2 weeks with no problem(custom made)! No one called me in 2 weeks, no one called in 3 weeks . I go there on Monday November 2nd to ask what's going on with my ring. He had no idea what to say. Told me the ring will be there on Wednesday November 4th. He said he will call so i can go pick it up. I go Wednesday on November 4th he said the ring its not ready it will be ready Friday November 6th. I go there today he said the ring will be there tomorrow Saturday morning!! I told the st*pid guy that I'm going out of town before even purchase the ring so he knows in advance that I'm not there after November 6th. And in the morning of November 6th he told me ok no problem come back at 6:30 o'clock and the ring will be there. I go there 1 hr ago and this st*pid mada*aka its giving me absolutely different ring from the ring i order i will attach pictures for you to see. Hey buddy u piece of sh*t i hope you read this i was really close of hurting you but i felt sorry for you. You are scumbag. The store its a scam. Im sorry that I didn't review the reviews for this scam place before I order custom ring( thats on me). People please im begging you stay away from that scam store!!! I'm a long time customer of these store. How I started doing business with them? Thanks for asking! Well, I bought a diamond ring from the jewelry store in front of International diamond company where I paid almost $ 3,000.00 (with a discount). I was walking away feeling so guilty for such a huge purchase debating If the price paid was fair but happy with the ring. When I passed by International Diamond I saw the same kind of ring but much better quality with more gold on it and better quality diamonds. When I asked for the price without giving me the run around Nick said $1,500.00. Imagine that!!! the half!!! I immediately returned the ring I had just bought from the other store. As I was returning the ring they offered to match the price that Nick gave me. I said "no way. You should have offered it at that price first like Nick did". Plus he's ring was better! Me and my husband found our wedding bands at International Diamond Company. Nick's customer service was excellent. He was very patient and He paid attention to every detail while helping to select our bands. I would highly recommend International Diamond company to anyone in need of a wedding band, set or any jewelry piece! Not to mention, I get a ton of compliments on my ring! There is a lot of bad reviews out there for this store and I had a good experience so I thought I share it. weather it was typical or not, just an honest overview of my experience. I went looking for engagement rings for my fiancee, at the time my girlfriend, and checked a few places for a specific type of ring. I was a twisted halo sparkly ring I call DNA rings, as I am a biochemist and quite nerdy. Other places had the ones I like for around 3k and I found an almost identical one at IDC orginally 3180 they said it was on sale for 954 with free sizing and placement. I had my mother's diamond to place into the setting. I purchased the ring over the phone a few days later after I looked around more because school, research, and work did not allow me to come In person. Two days before I was planning to propose I was able to get out and they were able to size and place my diamond into the setting the next day all in house. My fiancée loves the ring and so far everything is fine. The fact that they got that done so fast and in store was awsome. Looking at other reviews all I can say is stay in house to reduce any potential for issues. And I'm not sure if I happened to get the best price or they did some shananagins with sales but I was satasified with with what I paid and would go back again, as long as I was able to keep all services in house. read more

I LOVE this store! The owner is so nice, helpful, and courteous, as are his employees. I had to write a review after my second purchase there today because I just had such a great experience... again! First I bought my wedding band there- great quality, amazing selection, and UNBELIEVABLE prices. I had visited a bunch of big name jewelry stores, and none had anything I loved; plus I felt I could get a better deal. As soon as I went into International Diamond Company I saw four rings I loved so much I had a hard time choosing. Plus the prices were literally 50% less than the others I had seen (or more). Then they were just so nice, they cleaned my engagement ring (that I didn't even buy there), and I wanted a pair of earrings too, so he sold them to me for like a third of the sticker price because I had just made a purchase. Today I went back to buy earrings to wear with my wedding dress, and all of the employees were super nice again. So helpful and accommodating! It is very shameful when people hide their own dirty drawers, but are quick to see and tell about others! Nevertheless, I will talk about my experience. I visited the International Diamond Company at the woodfield mall as one of the jewelry stores on my list, in preparation for our wedding. The reception was excellent. I saw what my fiancé and I were looking for.....I called him to let him know......he told me to leave a deposit. When we returned to pick up our wedding bands, they were perfectly done, with our names engraved. About six months later while visiting the mall, we stopped by and thanked them for our rings!!! They were very excited.....and polished our rings for free. So my advice to Leo...since he started the "bad mouthing" is that in life, be careful how you publicize other people. Let the last presidential campaigns be a constant reminder to you!!!! President Obama was bad mouthed by many. But today, he is still the president because of his integrity. And on the contrary, those who spent billions of "all currencies" available to them trying to publicize him negatively only revealed how immature they are to run the office of presidency. Had a very bad situation but the way they handled it was even worse! Bought a ring 5 hrs kater i come back to return it because i found a better one in the mall! Nick and karima or whatever her name was they were so disrespectful and outrageous because i was back and want it my money. They told me theres no refund but on the receipt says 15 days for items not on sale! I bought the ring on regular price and when i wanted the money back he told me he already put on a discount price for me that I didn't even know about it. Pathetic low class behavior by Nick. change the head or ull loose customers and your business. I feel that this company said one thing on their description and give you something else. I would like a full refund at this point. I have been on the phone many times - they all know me and will not work with me. I do not want any other setting that they offer. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. I can assure you I am not affiliated with them in any way. My first visit to International Diamond was almost a year ago as a seller. I was offered almost 3 times what I would have been anyone by else for my diamonds. Not only that but the customer service was excellent. Since then, I have gone back several times. I can say I have never had a bad experience here. I know jewelry VERY well. I know good quality and I know good prices. I have seen both at this store. Having been in a retail business myself in the past, I know that there are going to be people you just can't please no matter what you do. My advice: check them out for yourself. Go around to the other jewellers in the mall and compare. I really think you'll be pleasantly surprised with their inventory and customer service regardless what others have said on here. read more

They won't take anything back no RUFUND, even after 1 hr of purchase! Its a very scam place be carful. My fiancé purchased my engagement ring and our wedding bands from International Diamond Company. Before visiting this store, we visited at least four others and had bad experiences with most of them. Nick and the other employees were fantastic from the start! We picked out a ring we liked and asked for a few changes; every other store gave us a tough time or would have charged much more for the customizations, but Nick gave us a great price and my ring is beautiful! I get compliments all the time! My wedding band had to be custom made due to the shape of my engagement ring; it turned out beautifully as well and I cannot wait to wear it! They also appraised our rings for insurance purposes at no cost and are happy to clean my ring any time we stop in. We have referred two other couples - both were very happy! read more

Not sure about all the reviews, but I know my experience with International Diamond Company was perfectly fine. =) I purchased an engagement ring for my now fiance..which she loved! and only had a few issues. The main things was they seemed just a little too forward when I first walked in the store. I understand they want to make the sale, but still...maybe a little too pushy for my taste. Also when my fiance went in to pick up the re-sizing whoever helped her was very rude to her. Overall though the staff was friendly, besides this one guy (I dont remember his name.) They also were very knowledgeable...and even let me give them some biz cards for wedding videography. The ring has only been on my fiance's finger for a month but so far so good. =) read more

The team here is amazing!! My fiance and I went in not knowing exactly what we wanted and they helped us come up with something unique and stunning. The best part is that when we showed Nick a design we liked, we made some alterations (I prefer oval and wanted two tone with rose gold) and he took it from there. My fiance really put his trust in Nick and he came through!! I recommend all of my friends and family to come here. It is a big purchase and they made us feel safe. This review is a long time coming, but I wanted to share my experience. My fiancé and I were recommended here by our banker who works weekends there and we were not disappointed. Nick and his staff were all very friendly and he gave us great prices on our wedding rings. My engagement ring had also been having issues with the diamonds and I tried different places and spent more money to have the same issue happening over and over, but Nick promised to have it fixed within a few hours and my ring hasn't had any issues since! So far, it's been nothing but a positive experience so I wouldn't let the negative comments scare you and I would definitely recommend them to family and friends. Owner is very nice. After first purchase here had the gold tested to make sure it was of standard. After verifying that I was willing to purchase more. I have bought multiple pieces and diamonds from here. The owner even let me swap out pendants a few times. The same jewelry from other places here in Woodfield are twice if not triple the cost. Don't know why anyone would say they are scammers, as they offer jewelry that is real for far less than MSRP most places would. I bought a beautiful sapphire cross for my daughter who has religious ceremonies this year, I got a Chamilia bracelet and charms as a gift for my mother in law, and they repaired and soldered together two rings that I wear together.
