I ordered a bahn mi and a Vietnamese coffee. I was really looking forward to the coffee but it turns out it wasn't true Vietnamese coffee, it tasted like whole milk and not condensed. I was also over charged for it. I was charged 5.50 for the coffee and 10.50 for the bahn mi. On the menú, the price is 4.95 for the coffee and 9.95 for the bahn mi chay. Prices are fair and dishes are fairly authentic (omg the menu is phonetically correct). Note that the broth here leans clear and lean and mostly chicken based. It is toward the sweet side (which was the only thing I didn't like about my shrimp pho) but there are plenty of condiments on the table if you prefer more savory or spicy. Noodles are cooked to the appropriate time and are not squishy. Dining room is no frills, mostly booths. Definitely efficient but not pretty. This deducts another star. read more

this is based on a takeout order. I got the fried tofu with garlic rice and steamed broccoli. I give it two stars because the rice and the broccoli was pretty good. But very disappointing with the fried tofu. Originally we thought it was just fried brown bread. Awful taste having a very strange coating on what should be tofu. I ordered the 'special beef pho' which included all the different types of meat: brisket, tendon, flank steak, raw beef, etc. All of it was great. We ordered the shrimp summer rolls as an app. The peanut sauce that came with it was great but the rolls themselves felt a little plain, and for the price ($8.50 for 3 rolls) it seemed quite expensive, but I'm not knocking off a star for that because everything else was so wonderful. The bubble tea flavors we got for our table--thai, plain (milk tea), and mango--were all also great; the mango one was surprisingly real-tasting, not like the typical fruity powder-flavored bubble tea I'm used to. First I have to give credit where credit is due... The staff here are incredibly nice and helpful. We arrived at iPho on a day that was nice and sunny outside so we got to sit outside. We couldn't find a clean table as quite a few ppl dined and left at the same time. The staff was alerted and came out to clean up for us and informed us that since it was hot out we should go and sit in the shade and get some water while we waited for our food. Very thoughtful. I had #26 Bún Chả Giò Thịt Nướng Vermicelli w/ grill pork and egg rolls $13.95 husband had #53 Bun Tom Nuong Vermicelli w/ grilled shrimp $13.95 Overall very good and will definitely return. We enjoyed the pork summer roll and shrimp vermicelli bowl. The lemongrass flavoring of the shrimp and pork was very good, I think these might be the best pork summer rolls I've had. J and I both missed the variety of fresh herbs we usually enjoy in the summer rolls and to dress up the vermicelli. Something just seems wrong about not getting a big plate of herbs. But again, the shrimp and pork were perfectly flavored, cooked to the right temp and the shredded cucumber carrots and daikon were fresh and tasty. The big pot of jasmine tea added to the experience on this blustery day. The ambience of the place is funky- very orange and some delightful wood paneled walls, but I don't go to restaurants for ambience typically. Extreme levels of meh. I ordered the Pho. The first warning sign was that despite the restaurant having Pho in its name, every single waitress mispronounced it. It's pronounced Fuh (like duh) not Foe. Anyway, I order the Pho. I love tendon in my Pho. I see that it is a $4 add on but order anyway. My Pho comes out and on top are the largest chunks of tendon I've ever seen, and they are massively undercooked. Here is the thing about tendon, when braised for a long time it gets this deliciously soft melt in your mouth texture. However, this tendon had the consistency of silly putty and was inedible. Once I dug into the soup itself, I realized that the broth wasn't hot enough and the noodle were far more "al dente" than they should have been. The broth itself was fairly bland and watery. It wasn't actively bad food, it just wasn't good either. I wouldn't return. read more

Umm no, that fly came from the kitchen. The fly didn't fly into my bowl and drown in the 4 minutes since it was delivered to me. I went to the bathroom to wash out my mouth and try to induce vomiting while my friend payed for the meal. The restaurant did not even OFFER to take off the price of the soup. I left immediately and warned the other group there. COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO HATES FLIES WITH A PASSION--- GROSSSSS And they need a better response in place when a customer has that issue in future. The banh mi was just, like, so good, and it really hit the spot after a long morning of watching other people rock climb at the Gunks (yr girl is afraid of heights). Veggie dumplings-- so tender and flavorful--hit the spot as well. As an added bonus, portions are generous for your dollar. For the past week or so, I have been reconsidering my life choices and wondering if I should have gone to SUNY New Paltz, because if I had, I would stumbled upon this place sooner.
