Located on the main drag though New Paltz NY, IPHO satisfied our hankering for Pho after dropping daughter 1 off at school for her second year. IPHO has a nice outdoor seating area on the front lawn. They're taking orders inside, socially distanced, and delivering food to the tables. The menu is nice, with a variety of Pho, Bahn Mi, sides and other yummy stuff. We all had the house special been Pho, which has several different cuts of beef and soft cartilage. I wasn't crazy about that last bit, but that's me. Otherwise I found the broth to be very good, although not as deep and rich as The Rolling Springroll's, but still excellent. Meats, while tasty, could have been sliced thinner. The meatballs were excellent. We also enjoyed the Vietnamese egg rolls, which are larger spring rolls, which were very hearty. The pho with grilled chicken was the most flavorful pho I've had this side of the Mississipi. Got take out and everything was on point.

I am enjoying this spot during COVID, and I feel so safe here. They even separate the pens between used and cleaned! From the outside it looks like it could be a Dive. The interior decor reiterates that everything is pretty shabby but don't be fooled the food is excellent. Their food menu is very small. the service itself did not feel welcoming for sure. so I ordered the garlic butter jasmine rice as an appetizer. rice was piping hot and garlic had a roasted taste to it, got to say it was amazing, plus not too much butter to make the rice oily. as a entrée I got bun bo hue. the cuts of beef brisket and flank tendon were so thin and so tender, the meat melted in my mouth how well they were cooked. pork ham slices were tasty, wish I had more slices of it. the soup broth was spicy but not overpowering and not overly salty, vermicelli noodles were perfect, but I found they did not separate the noodles since I got clumps of noodles stuck together. overall I loved the soup and did not had to add any limes,basil or bean sprouts to further enhance it. adding the soup broth to the rice was very good. very flavorful dishes. read more

Wow!! I am a vegan and this spot is legit. I haven't had good Pho in almost 2 years living in New York. Heck New Paltz Pho is BOMB! The noodles are perfect, the veggies in my pho were soft but firm and the soup itself was super flavorful! My fiance non vegan ordered the chicken pho and he said it was GREAT. But there was a large problem with bees circling the table again and again and again and made it uncomfortable to sit out and eat... Pricing is very competitive... Go for pho. It'll do for this small town. Broth is still oily showing non-thorough skimming throughout cooking process, but they do give you a decent amount/variety of meat. Rest - do not get. It's quite terrible. Grilled pork in Bahn mi ain't like the pork chop in other vietnamese restaurants. It's some dry, shreddy pork that's poorly seasoned. Absolutely disgusting. Shrimp in the vermicelli bowl is a shrimp patty instead of grilled shrimp. Noodle was extremely puffed up and soggy from being overcooked, and the fish sauce for the bowl wasn't enough. I am a frequent customer at ipho and have been going there since they opened. The food is good and makes your feel warm and healthy. My favorite thing to order is the shrimp pho, my only complaint about the pho is the temperature its served at which is sometimes luke warm. I also get a sandwich with my meals which are very satisfying, the fresh and pickled vegetables in the sandwiches make it a refreshing choice to order. The pricing is good for some items but poor for appetizers. Seating is usually ok for a group of 4 however they don't do a good job at accommodating large parties. Finally a stable, quality restaurant in the old my hero spot. Really great food, especially for an antidote to burger joints. Everything here is bright and tasty, served relatively quickly. And now with Gomen-Kudasai closing (), the only decent place to get bubble tea in New Paltz . They can get swamped sometimes at dinner time but the staff pushes through and gets your delectable food to you in a reasonable amount of time.
