Ippolito's food and service are definitely not the same as in the past. The rolls are excellent, the salad was fresh but everything after that was downhill. Note they now charge for the salad. The Chicken Parm was thin, dry and tasteless. The tortellini was a very low quality product. The Alfredo was chalky tasting. They would do better serving Alfredo from a jar from the grocery store. It took a long time to finally get our check. The manager did visit the table and apologized for the food. I cannot recommend this restaurant any longer. If you want good Italian food this is not the place. read more

The place had a pretty good late lunch crowd here when my friend and I stopped by for lunch around 1 PM this past Monday. The complimentary garlic knots were delish. If you're dying for more, go ahead and ask. So my friend and I shared our miniature meal, which was a pretty good portion size for two: * Pepe -- Sweet and yet salty at the same time. The Italian sausage was pretty good. The tomato sauce gave the pepe an extra flavor kick and moisture. The dough around the sausage was enough to add another texture and flavor to the yummy mix. * Steak and mushroom flatbread -- The crust was thin and crispy. Although a tad oily, it wasn't that bad. The steak was good and meshed well with the veggies. Perhaps they could have been more generous with the steak or have the meat cut into smaller pieces... But then again, some places overload unnecessarily. Finding this place sucked since the restaurant is located at the very most front strip in front of Kroger. It's more towards the Shell gas station side, not the larger strip of stores. So if you're looking at Kroger, aim for the small strip to Kroger's left. read more

Having our wedding reception at Ippolito's Bocce Room was one of the best decisions we made. From the very beginning, Pat helped us with everything. He was flexible and really worked with us, even when things changed mid-planning. The food was fabulous! We got so many compliments on the food! And the service was outstanding! Pat even came out in the middle of the reception just to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. The Bocce room, even without decorations looks great. The few decorations that we put around just put the cherry on top. The whole night was wonderful, and we are still hearing about it from our guest. I highly recommend! read more

ExCELLENT Food and service. Diana was all over it tonight and did a wonderful job making sure our drinks were filled and that our food came out quick, hot and delicious. The garlic roll are a prefect combo of doughy on the inside and crispy on the outside and the marinara served with them is spot on. I got the Greek salad and the veal Marsala and both were perfect. The lobster ravioli was creamy and delicious as well. High quality fresh ingredients for a reasonable price. Will definitely be back soon to dine next to the fireplace and enjoy the wonderful ambience that Ippplito's has to offer. read more

Officially a believer now. I had heard people talk about Ippolotos for a good bit now & I actually took the chance & tried it. I was NOT disappointed. The garlic rolls, fettuccine Alfredo, rigatoni marinara with chicken , and Caesar salads were amazing. We are normally pretty picky when it comes to Italian food but this one fits the bill. The food was nicely seasoned, the sauces tasted fresh and not from a jar, and the chicken was actually cooked properly and not fatty. I would definitely eat here again and would even add it to the list of "pre approved" restaurants to take my in-laws to, & trust me they are picky. read more

Love the Ippolitos in Holcomb Bridge. I just recently moved from Alabama and this is by far my favorite spot to eat dinner at. The garlic rolls are specially good and the chicken parmigiana was delightful. The waiters were very kind when I entered and worked in a rapid pace. Came to celebrate my Nanas 75th today. The food was absolutely divine, and the service was top shelf. We forgot to separate the check at the beginning and our waiter made the proper adjustments without any fuss. The drinks kept flowing, omg and the calamari is probably some of the freshest I have ever had! This is a clean, quiet, casual spot. I went yesterday to pick up my take out food and was told by the manager, Havi, that he didn't have a order for me and he stood arguing for 10 min. that he didn't know who I called by it wasn't his restaurant. He even wanted to see my phone, to see where I called. I showed him and it was the right restaurant and he still said I was wrong. How do you call a patron , a liar? ARROGANT! INSTEAD OF DEBATING THIS, DON'T YOU THINK HE WOULD HAVE SAID, "WELL, WHAT IS IT THAT YOU ORDERED? LET ME MAKE IT FOR YOU!". NO, this went on and on until I said "okay, can you make it please, how long?" He said 15 min. So, I sat at the bar waiting and ordered a beer. Food was ready and he gave me the bill and I was very upset and questioned him about the price. He said "oh, we don't serve lunch now, just dinner" and they never serve lunch anymore but they still have a lunch menu on their website and all other websites. It was 12:30 in the afternoon. THE BILL PRICE WAS $36.00. VERSUS $22 FOR FOOD AND $4.50 BEER. I have ordered food here several times and eaten here with the family of 5 several times and our family has business dinners here for 30. BIG MISTAKE TO ACT LIKE THIS!!!!!!! HORRIBLE service. Today was half price wine day... but they were out of 3 different bottles that we ordered. Server (sherika) "forgot" to put our pizza in with the rest of our tables order... so I ended up just eating the rolls.our pizza finally came out when everyone was done eating then they wanted to charge us for it... Ippolito's needs to move to the Bay Area--hint, hint! While visiting my family in Atlanta, I am the lucky one that gets to decide where we go to eat all the time...I love being an out-of-towner! I was craving Italian food, but then again, I am always craving Italian food. I recalled Ippolito's from a visit a few years ago when my brother moved to Alpharetta, so I mentioned it, and EVERYONE in the family agreed: Ippolito's it is! We packed into several cars, and decided to meet at the restaurant. It was not too crowded, and I really do not know why, it is such a great spot. We had a group of about 9 people, so I went in first with one of my brothers to request a table. I felt like with such a big group we would simply end up watching much of the football game sitting at the bar with my daddy and couple of brothers while the kids and moms waited in the lobby. I was wrong, not even one half of a drink later the hostess came and collected our party and led us to a large table. Our server quickly greeted us leaving menus and making suggestions while telling us that we could get half price wine bottles--my daddy replied, "Bring the wine list, sir." While we waited on our server to return I looked around the restaurant. The tables are clothed in typical red and white covers, the kind I remember always seeing at places as a kid. The bar area is wide open and inviting, and there are TV's even in the dinning area. Overall, the place is pretty outdated as far as decor, but the food makes up for the lack of "ATL trendy" that is missing from this venue. The server brought us these HUGE garlic rolls, i mean HUGE!!! They are served with freshly made marinara sauce, pipping hot. I was pretty sure that I would not eat my dinner if I partook in too many of these delicious, garlic, buttery, oh--and did I mention HUGE--rolls. But, hey, YOLO! I started to eat the rolls. YUMMY! Then they brought us salads. BIG salads. I had caesar with large, thinly shaved parmesan strips, massive croutons and a house made dressing that was sharp and amazing. My mommy and niece decided they wanted to share a pizza. My daddy got sole with pasta and fresh veggies. My sister in law and her husband shared a meal replete with large prawns, pasta and a white creamy sauce. My son had salmon with spinach and fresh tomatoes--he always has salmon, and I really did not know what one of the brothers ordered--he does not like to share! My other brother got pasta with alfredo sauce and I ordered a large shrimp and pasta dinner with a caper and white wine sauce and veggies on the side. The table was too long to view the other guest's food...but I did recognize several glasses of sweet tea. The portions were way too big, I simply cannot eat that much food. We took so much food home, but I still had leftovers from yesterday...I am not sure who will eat all of this food. Maybe we can send it home with my son, he is a single man on his own now ;) We truly enjoyed our food and our family time together. Ippolito's really helped us out, a rather large crowd that did not bother to call ahead--sorry. Still catching up on my Thanksgiving reviews....thank you for being patient. Just had lunch here for the first time in a bit. Had the Baked Spaghetti with meat sauce. It was delicious as always and the portion was generous. My salad was delicious with the lettuce fresh and crispy. The garlic parmesan rolls were tasty as well. We also had the Eggplant Rollatini which was delicious. My sweet tea was perfect. Our service was excellent. The young lady who helped us was courteous, and efficient, as well as the young man who delivered our entrees. Highly recommend. read more

I'm a big fan of Ippolito's having catered from the original Sandy Springs location for many years at work. In general most of the "satellite" locations have left me cold - however I had a great dinner at this location with a party of 8 people. My biggest complaint is that the manager was not wearing a mask. Not even attempting to. She was very pleasant but not taking her patrons health into consideration. There's a formula amongst Italian restaurants in Atlanta: put a basket of hot, yummy garlic rolls on the table. Couple it with a decent salad and voila, the restaurant has reeled you in. Ippolito's follows form. The salad and rolls are fine ... but with the plethora of Italian restaurants around town, it's not hard to top Ippolito's once you get past their opening act. My husband, daughter and I each ordered something different. Nobody's dish was outstanding. Nobody's dish was that bad. With that said, I wouldn't travel out of my way for Ippolito's -- as I would for other Italian restaurants -- but I wouldn't balk if the people I was with wanted to eat there. read more

Had a great server at Ippolito's tonight which is why I give this place 4 stars, otherwise it would probably only be 3. I ordered the Eggplant Parm for dinner and it was ok, but not great. It was certainly not fresh cut eggplant, but rather frozen eggplant that had been heated, covered with sauce, and cheese; the cheese and sauce was wonderful. Dinner was served with an ok Ceasar salad and some pretty good garlic rolls. Our server Josh made our dining experience great. And another waiter at a another table did a great rendition of happy birthday for his guest, he might be the next American Idol. I really don't like writing bad reviews,especially when most of the reviews I saw on this place were favorable. However, I came her wanting a chicken dish, and asked for the lightest one available. My server, who was very sweet, recommended the piccata. It came swimming in a heavy, creamy, unsavory sauce, which was not at all appealing. Piccata at other restaurants were never this creamy. I asked for a small plate of extra pasta so i could transfer chicken to another plate. They charged me for the $4 of pasta! Lastly, the garlic knots are nothing to boast about. Love this place. Service, portions and quality is tops! Owner parks his black Cadillac sedan right in front of the restaurant in a HANDICAP spot........no placard and he is not disabled. Employees are embarrassed when I asked them if he knows where he parked is wrong, no matter if he is the owner. Felt bad for them. On one evening, the place was jammed. Food was very late, staff was great but took too long, small kids, hungry and aggravated made for a not so nice dinner. But staff was great, we got our food, all was very good. They would have saved the evening and I would go back, every place has a tough night. Add an owner sitting at the bar with his friends, not getting in the kitchen to help.....might still let it all slide, but the parking by this entitled "I own the is place" owner is too much for me. I think Ipp's make some of the best pasta in the city. whether you're in Sandy Springs Alpharetta or any other locations I have never had a bad pasta meal from Ipp's. I love their garlic knots but don't load up on bread because their pasta servings are huge and you will always need a to go bag. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and additional meatballs my friend had their angel hair pasta with meat sauce. I didn't have dessert this time, but I have had in the their Boston cream pie it is delicious if you are in need of a sugar rush for the next 12 hour. read more

I go here and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and best of all - the bartender named Bobby at least two to three times a week. A local neighborhood favorite, Bobby takes his role as bartender, host, food runner, and many more responsibilities to the highest degree! Not only does he make a great cocktail, but his conversation is one that sparks the interest and ear of all patrons of the bar. Horrible service, entered door, no hostess for at least 5 minutes, 4 other groups stacking up behind us. Wait was 25 minutes for 5 of us, OK. Went to bar for drinks, only 4 or 5 people sitting at the bar, bartender sees me waiting, folds his arms and rests them on the bar so that he can chit chat with the man in front of him, finally turns and starts washing glasses. We will never be back! The restaurant was fairly busy, but had 7 open tables (that I could see from the door) and we were the only people left to wait. We were a party of 2. I was told it would be 10 minutes. At 15 minutes I walked back to the hostess and was told her manager hadn't given her the ok to seat anyone else. I said, there are just 2 of us. She stared at me. She said she'd go ask her manager. I told her to please do so because if we were not sat soon we were leaving and I was canceling the $200 catering order I placed earlier in the day. We were immediately sat. Instead of the table she wanted to seat us, I asked if we could have the booth. The hostess huffed and then threw our menus down on the booth table and walked off. Nice! Dinner was ok, but I felt the portion size of the chicken Torino was smaller than in the past. We used to eat here 2 times per week. No variety in the soups or specials, and service has declined - staff constantly turning over. After dinner, husband went to get the car, and I waited in the vestibule. The manager came out and accused me of taking a picture of her hostess. Huh? I said I did not. She then proceeded to yell at me about why I was rude to her hostess and that it was unnecessary for me to tell her I was going to cancel my catering order. Umm, I'm sorry, pretty sure that's my right if I don't feel as though the establishment is providing adequate service. I then walked outside and she followed me out. She continued to tell me about her Christian hostess and how she's going to stand up for her. I explained I did not yell, did not curse, and was simply matter-of-fact. She again told me it was not necessary. I asked her why she'd chase a customer out the door to reprimand her. Mind you, customers going in and out during this entire discussion. She continued on to tell me the entire dining room was sat and they needed a 20 minute break. Wow? Ok! She told me I had only waited 15 minutes? And your point? You have a restaurant with empty tables. She then asked again if they should cancel my catering order. I said yes, please. She then says she'd have the general manager call me. I certainly hope he calls! Unfortunately, Ippolito's lost a regular customer tonight; however based on the managers attitude they likely could care less. read more
