    New stud :)
    Lexee L.

I have been wearing my cute little hoop and realized I wanted to go back to a stud--and gold this time! I was walking by this place actually on my way to a different studio, but the vibe was so good I decided to stop in! I'm always intimidated going to tattoo/piercing shops, but this shop was full of cool, inviting people who made the experience so quick and easy! They got me in so quick considering I was a walk in on a busy Saturday. I'll definitely be back!

I had gone to iris as my third option as I had been to two piercing shops before to ask about an industrial piercing. For one reason or another the other two were unable to (didn't have the right jewelry/only checked one ear not the other for fitting). Thankfully my right ear was great for the piercing and the piercer (kielin) checked it and walked me through the entire process. I wish I would have came here first!!! It was quick, little bit of pain which is normal, and I was given after care instructions. The team as a whole was super pleasant throughout my experience there.

Just had the best piercing experience of my life here!!! I'm not big on writing Yelp reviews but everyone needs to know about how amazing this place is. Everyone at the studio is so so lovely, friendly and considerate. Their jewelry selection is full of gorgeous pieces, all of which are reasonably priced. Priscilla showed me all my options and helped me pick out something great for my conch. I had to get my retired conch piercing repierced (originally pierced at a different studio 2 years ago), and Janeese walked me through the whole thing. They told me they'd first check if it could be stretched rather than completely repiercing and told me what they were doing each step of the way and making sure I wasn't in too much pain -which I wasn't at all, they were so gentle and careful!! We ended up fully repiercing it because of the way it had healed since being taken out, and again they walked me through it step by step. The fact that it had been pierced before may have helped with the pain, but I'm inclined to believe that it was Janeese's skills and manner that made this easily the least painful piercing experience of my life. The wonderful treatment that these folks provide their customers made this such an easy and stress free experience. I'll absolutely be back !! The jewelry in my conch and third lobe is from them :)

I was incredibly nervous to get even second-hole piercings on my earlobes. I live in midtown but picked Iris because it was the only place in greater New York that had zero reviews with horror stories. (And I'm always afraid I'll be the horror story.) Janeese and Priscilla were so compassionate, competent, and friendly. They alleviated my nerves and did a great job on the actual piercing. Spacing is great. Sleeping on my side hurt a little for a couple nights but that was it. Priscilla recommended buying no special solution (even tho it would've meant more money for the store) bc she said that, in her experience, the best healing comes when the body just does the work itself and that the solution tends to dry the skin out and make things worse. I never had any pain or oozing or flaking or ickiness of any kind. This morning, after seven weeks of being very patient and good, I took out the piercing earrings and finally put in my own. I'm very excited. 11/10. Terrific job. Thank you!!!!

Their pieces are smaller, more delicate than classic jewelry found in "fine jewelry" stores -- perfect for a more casual, subtle everyday look. I own a collection of Catbird pieces, mostly the 14K gold stackable rings which I mix and match, but also necklaces and stud earrings. And I'm not done collecting yet! LOL. They also offer "zapped" bracelets in-person which I find intriguing. Several celebrities have been sighted wearing their pieces (e.g., Meghan Markle). I love that Catbird's jewelry is made in New York, is ethically sourced, and offers convenient purchases online. Shipping is fairly quick -- 2-3 days for my orders. I also love that Catbird has a level of quality I can trust without needing to try pieces on before ordering. I would love to visit the brick and mortar store. Prices aren't always to my liking for some of the thinner pieces, but the store sometimes offers discount codes and/or sales.

I purchased two name rings late in 2025, I had been a customer at the original location since they opened in 2005 when I was in college! I've bought so many rings from them, many by Wwake but also very nice ones by their in house line. A lot of personalized ones over the years with sentimental value for me. I think quality and production must be way down and I'm worried maybe these rings I have from last year may not even be actual gold. Maybe it's a fault in the design? I put one on and almost cut myself- it had split!!! I was so shocked and reached out to them immediately since this hasn't happened in 20+ years as a loyal customer who recommended their brand, bought gifts for family, etc. I emailed customer service and they said it's under warranty and can be fixed. I felt like that would be okay until I looked at my other name ring, purchased on the same date. I can see a split forming but not complete in the same exact location as the other one!!!!! I don't want a "fix" or replacement anymore unless it's another brand. I'd like my money back, I've never ever had real jewelry break on its own like this and I take very good care of these treasured objects. I can see these will break again and again :( If they can actually give good customer service I'll return as a customer to still buy trusted brands like Wwake but would never buy from their line ever again and can see numerous recent Reddit posts describing Catbird line jewelry falling apart! Sticking to Kathryn Bentley and other cool designers who take more pride in their work. Buyer beware :/

I wanted to see a variety of designs, shapes, and settings--and they had so many beautiful options to try on. The experience was warm, helpful, and not overwhelming at all. However, I ended up going with another jeweler a few stores down because my boyfriend had a connection there. The moment I received my ring, I immediately regretted not choosing Jangmi. The ring I got was nothing close to what I had asked for. The prongs were bent, and I had specifically requested a higher setting so that a wedding band could sit flush--but none of my bands (even very thin ones) sat properly. I brought it back and asked for multiple fixes. To his credit, he did make adjustments for free, but when I received the ring the second time, it still didn't match my vision at all. What I wanted was simple and classic: a 6-prong setting with tall, straight prongs (similar to the Tiffany style) and small claw tips. Instead, the ring was still not high enough, and the prongs were extremely thick--both from the top and side view--which completely took away from the beauty of the diamond. At that point, I was honestly so frustrated and ready to give up. But I remembered how positive my initial experience at Jangmi was, so I decided to reach out and ask if they could reset my ring. Even though the previous jeweler was willing to keep making changes for free, I didn't feel comfortable going back. I would much rather pay for something done right. And I am SO glad I did. Jangmi had the exact design I had been envisioning all along. Mrs. Kim was incredibly patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. She had a wax model made for me to try on before finalizing the ring, which made such a huge difference. Seeing and wearing the design in person gave me so much confidence--honestly, I preferred this so much more than just looking at CAD images, which can be hard to interpret if you're not in the industry. Within just two weeks, my ring was exactly what I had dreamed of from the start. The craftsmanship, the proportions, the setting--everything was perfect. My biggest regret is not coming to Jangmi Jewelry from the beginning. But one thing I can promise is that I will absolutely be coming back here for my wedding bands. If you're even thinking about going here--just do it. You won't regret it!
