Came on an anniversary weekend of Iron bar. Around 630 with coworkers. Great German beer, lots of different IPAs, too many Pumpkin Spice variety as I don't like that flavor. Group of 4 of us, soo many drinks so we all did flights so it's 4 drinks but not a fixed price.. apparently depending what you choose the flight can cost more or less, didn't like that.. I got delicious tater tots and a special Weinersnitzel which is egg noodles and oven fried chicken but real good real filling. Friend got Mac n cheese balls, u get 5 and they are super filling so beware. The crust of it tastes like garlic bread in a real good way but no special flavor of Mac n cheese very bland and disappointing but it's served with some sorta vodka sauce, that I could just drink it straight up lol.. Over great spot and turns into a club at night with way to many dress code rules for guys, to the point where all guys are wearing the same thing. read more

I'm currently eating at this restaurant/bar. The place is empty and the service is slow. I was sitting outside for a good 10 min maybe, before someone took my order. I ordered the fish and chips. When it arrived it looked like skinny burritos. Look at the photo. How can you ruin fish and chips? That's not breaded anymore. That's a tortilla wrapped in tiny fish inside and made it look big so it looks like a big fish inside. Is this place run by mobsters? This is robbery! I just read the bad reviews. Stopped in out of curiosity on a quiet Tuesday evening for a beer. About ten huge TV screens and medium loud music were all going at the same time. I have seen the lines to get in late on a weekend so I think this place fills up then. The DJ booth makes me think it can get really loud! On draft they offer a mix of domestic (Brooklyn, Sam, Yuengling) for $5 and imported (Blue moon, Guinness) for $6. Nothing really unusual, the menu said Duvel but they didn't actually have it. Also sampled a cider, Angry Orchard, was pretty good. Bar staff was v friendly and quick. And, ahem, hot. Can I say that in a review? Well, I just did. :) Iron Bar has a large menu, much more than I expected. Yea of course there's burgers, pasta and pizzas, but also sushi rolls and big salads. Not cheap bar food, the cheeseburger is $11 but not crazy either, the most expensive is shrimp and lobster pasta at $16. Upstairs is a hugely deep room with a mod industrial feel, terrazzo floors, tin ceilings, brick walls and caged light bulbs. You can sit at the bar or at one of the high tables on the opposite wall. No restaurant tables and no big group tables. The facilities are downstairs, don't let the long walk scare you, you'll find it. I was not the oldest guy in the room, thankfully. But with that said, even considering the many good things on the menu this place isn't quite right for me to have a dinner with the guys. Just too noisy, I think IB knows their crowd. read more

This bar is hit or miss, and truthfully I think it's only worth it when the downstairs is open. The bar is huge, in the center of the club. If the upstairs is only open, it's very cramped. I think they make great drinks, but I find them expensive compared to most bars/clubs. But the club scene is usually great, so if I have to pay a little extra for drinks, I'll do it. Loved the atmosphere in here and how the vibe changes from a more casual to bar setting. I came here to celebrate my 21st birthday with my family and friends a few weeks ago and had a great start to my night, a nice waitress and some quality bites. HOWEVER, once the tables were taken away i could literally I feel the one bouncer breathing down my neck and moved downstairs with my cousin and brother. Within 5 minutes of being downstairs I walked into what was the girls bathroom completely on accident, and the SECOND I turned around because I realized I made a mistake I was grabbed in a chokehold told I was done, and ripped outside without my jacket, or phone. Like when I tell you this was an honest mistake and it happened so fast the bouncer for some reason was ITCHING to get me out of there which was sooooo weird. I had no choice since my party had no idea I was kicked out to go back in, and the second I made it back down to tell them we had to go I was grabbed by my hair and surrounded by 3 bouncers who had me by my arms and legs escorting me out.... Lmfao for sure made for a good instagram caption BUT MANAGEMENT should really question how they allow their bouncers to treat people. Yes, its a crazy bar and I'm sure a lot of people fight but there was no reason to take a 5'7 135 lb person with such brute force and kick them out for virtually doing nothing. The 2 times my wife and I have been here, we have been pleased with the service & food. Last night, on a bustling evening in Motown, was no different. We were seated promptly and the place wasn't too busy. The atmosphere is upbeat and there are plenty of TV's to keep you busy. The restaurant is very long and somewhat wide. Bar can fit lots of thirsty/hungry patrons. There are plenty of tables as well (booth style). Eric was our waiter. He was awesome. Friendly and knew his stuff. Since it was HH (until 8pm) I was able to score $1 off draft beers. Their selection is good. App: Fried pickles....need I say more...it comes with a horseradish dipping sauce which is so good! The pickles were excellent. We even talked our neighboring tables into ordering them...which they thanked us for. Entrees: SOUTH STREET CHICKEN SANDWICH - Teriyaki marinated grilled chicken with smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and tomato with Cajun mayonnaise on brioche roll. It was really good. If the chicken wasn't too dry it would have been perfect. CHOPPED SALAD - A blend of romaine and iceberg lettuce chopped and then tossed with tomatoes, cucumbers, roasted corn, radicchio, bacon bits and onions. Topped with provolone cheese, pea shoots, chives and choice of dressing. Served with ripped garlic bread. We added chicken as well. It was very good. The ingredients tasted fresh. The bacon added a nice crunch along with the sharpness of the provolone cheese. I could have done without the garlic bread which lacked flavor and added carbs. Fat Tire Amber was on draft tonight, for example. Good specials - Taco Tuesday is a big hit. They have $2 off any Sam Adams during trivia, and tonight they had $1 orange cream and root beer beer bottles. Yup, not just hard versions of those drinks, but actually beer infused. The reviews that say this bar is racist are absolutely true. My friend who is black was turned away at the door for wearing "work boots" even though a white girl in our group had just been let into the bar wearing "work boots" (though the bouncer didn't know she was in our group). Even one of the employees was wearing the exact same shoes as my friend who they turned away. Your own employee is allowed to break the dress code? When I brought this up, the bouncer was extremely rude and said "you want to stand outside with us all night?" The bouncer's name was Mike. I told him I'd be making a formal complaint to the venue, to which he replied, "get over yourself." Quite frankly this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Steer clear of this place. It's an entirely different experience when you go with anyone who isn't white. The replies to the other reviews that say Iron Bar is racist are offensive, ignorant, and invalidating. I came on a Thursday night to meet with some friends. There was no line to get in, but the bouncer had me go through the queue instead of straight to the door. No big deal. It's a HUGE bar, with multiple levels, but only the top floor was open this night. I came for their advertised specials, but their craft selections didn't count as a $2 domestic or $3 import. Their draft selections are pretty limited too. The first floor was packed. It was pretty hard to get through the crowd of people dancing. They had some DJ playing. It actually reminds me a lot of some of the college bars in Hoboken. For some reason, re-entry isn't allowed either. There were a lot of police officers patrolling the area as well. Whenever we're thinking about what to do on the weekends, Iron Bar always pops up. I come here all the time with my friends and out of all the bars in Morristown, Iron Bar definitely has the best crowd. It's two floors, but the downstairs area is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Usually the music upstairs is a little more hip hop and pop while downstairs is always EDM. The drinks are reasonably priced and surprisingly, you can actually get a drink ordered within a reasonable amount of time even during peak hours. The service here has always been friendly and professional. The manager here, Mark, is a really cool dude who definitely knows what's he's doing and how to deal with people. They also have a pretty good happy hour. Do yourself a favor and order the fried calamari as well, it's the best fried calamari I've ever had at a bar. So all in all, I would for sure recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a lively bar. Just make sure you get here before 11PM on fri/sat's otherwise you'll have to wait in line for a while. read more

Went on a weeknight before a show in town. Cool architectural details including tin ceilings and detailed woodwork on the large bar and back cabinets. The staff was great, the beverages were as expected, and the food was quite good! They don't have an extensive menu, but they have a variety and the choices they offer are very tasty. I'm sure its a mob scene on the weekends and my days of seeking out crowded bar scenes are behind me. But the Iron Bar is among the top of my list any other time! read more

He acted as if he were on some kind of power trip. This place is the explanation of security who thinks they have power. They don't know what they are doing, they will find a problem with you for no reason, they will beat you up for no reason, and they will kick you out without listening to you because "everyone is drunk". Somebody try to steal my friends phone last night at the bar, and he confronted the kid about it. I got kicked out instead and if my friend didn't point at the kid he would've not left as well. It's the dumbest reason why we have been kicked out from a bar. The fact that I have to tell somebody that's over 40, that I need to get my coat inside when he could've easily asked one of the 3 securities doing absolutely nothing in the front to come with me to get it, it just makes no sense. Spend over 300 dollars to get in and had to leave with 15 people with us. Disgusting. Learn how to give proper costumer service. In response to your amazing feedback - Takes a man to take a responsibility for your own acts. No one would act normal if somebody was trying to rob you inside a "safe" establishment. But your staff didn't really care to even listen to our side, and truly neither do you. Instead we got kicked out because we got upset at that and got mad at the person who was trying to rob us? I don't expect absolutely nothing from you or your establishment, definitely not accountability as well. I just want the people that come here to know what they are getting into, and there's only so much you can do to make this a better and safe establishment. Came here a few times, my sisters seems to like this place a lot so i've been here with them. The drinks are reasonable, the food pretty good upstairs, and the music is good. I've talked to the bouncers a few times inside, and they were all pretty cool. When we sat upstairs for food, our waitress was pretty prompt, drinks came quickly food came as fast as you would expect it. So that was great. It happened a while ago. I purchased a bottle of wine and got tipsy. On my way out I was holding the empty bottle, I had my receipt in my pocket. The bouncers and a thick build guy, slick back gray hair, wearing a yellow polo shirt, all surrounded me and snatched the bottle out of my hand, I apologized, I understand, never put a fight. what came next was fucking disgusting, the old guy with the polo shirt started cursing at me every name on the book. Who ever the old guy is got really close to my face, it seems he wanted to provoke me while making eye contact with his bouncers ready to escalate the situation. Maybe it lasted 40 seconds but I didn't know what to do, just one inch closer to his face would have given him an excuse to physically assault me with the other bouncers. He was blocking the exit way and letting people walk around them, WHY NOT JUST TAKE THE BOTTLE AND LET ME GO? I don't know who this guy is but he seemed to be the bouncers's supervisor or I should say thug/pimp. I do never get drunk or belligerent, I said repeatedly I had the receipt and I didn't know why I was carrying it on my hand other than reflexes of holding onto my things. But all I remember was spit landing on my face as he was yelling at me. Police was outside and he said he couldn't do anything. It is sad that these workers/bouncers are ready to pick up a fight with a drunk customer who will definitely be on the losing end alleging they were the drunk belligerent ones. Pathetic. I saw the owner/manager addressing a review that Ironbar "reminds" at 1:30 am several times that they must leave the bar before 2:00am but never denied they serve drinks until the very last second hoping to get every penny off of you knowing that they will kick you out. those are the regular practices at iron bar. I came here again on 1/27/2017 for a quick drink with co-workers . I don't really hold grudges, especially for reviews written 6 months ago, so on this visit I had basically forgotten about my old review. But Iron Bar hadn't. So we entered the bar, I was ID'ed by the SAME bouncer as before, and he let me in just fine. If I implied he was racist, that was incorrect, I'll take it back. However that is for him only, I can't say anything about Iron Bar in general. Anyway, we go to bar, the bartender is very nice and even extended happy hour specials for us since we came in right at the end. She was nice and honestly I was reconsidering my opinion of Iron Bar. But then 20 minutes later, as we are already leaving, the bouncer comes back and ask to see my ID. And then the owner comes up and shows me a PRINT OUT OF MY OLD REVIEW. From 6 months ago! I didn't even realize what it was because it was so strange. Anyway they escort us out of the bar and the bouncer raves about me calling him racist and then says I'm never allowed back. There are so many other good bars in Morristown, so this isn't a big deal. But the fact that this happened means my update is not a positive one. If my visit had gone as normal, I could have come back to Yelp and updated my review to something more neutral, but Iron Bar has proved they don't care about patrons at all, so that's that. Came here because my friends wanted to attend their happy hour. Parking was a bit of a struggle because there's no private parking lot, only street parking or parking garages. Other than that, there's a lot of seating available and the staff were super helpful and sweet. We ordered a bunch of drinks since they were only $5 but to be honest, they weren't that great: very weak and not that tasteful. The buffalo taquitos were delicious though and part of the happy hour menu so we got two haha. The fire alarm also went off which kind of destroyed the mood haha. But this place was more of a sit down place to eat appetizers and get drinks (like a buffalo wild wings) rather than a place to really get drunk or dance the night away. Nighttime club review, not of the food- it is always poppin here! This is the place to go if you're in the mood for a club-like Hoboken scene, but a more college type. Of course it is expensive for drinks and cover fee, but if you pregame and even get there before 10 pm, no cover fee. DJs are awesome and the dance floor is always lit aka everyone is dancing. It's a very big place. Don't expect high end decor. It really is more of a concrete and iron kind of a place. It gets obscenely loud, though there are quieter spots to be found due to the layout that includes multiple levels and multiple rooms on those multiple levels. There are plenty of screens for sports watchers. Plenty of people for the singles scene or people watching. The crowd and layout caters to a crowd seeking many types of an evening: After work dinner or happy hour Food and drink with friends or colleagues Dancing Socializing Post-College Frat Hangers-on looking to get their drink on Private Parties for birthdays or such for a fairly diverse age group, likely 21-50s Football or general sports watchers In general, it's a good spot for locals who would like a NYC club flavor, but are willing to accept that it's a Jersey version. It's not on the level of NYC, but it's certainly more affordable and accessible for those who'd rather stay more local or avoid NYC all together. Accompanied with some cold ommegang nirvana, 90 minute dogfish, some lagunitas, and a glass of whiskey. The drink selection was rather limited but they had a few decent choices. For the entree I had the South street chicken sandwich that was phenomenal. Really tasty I recommend trying this dish. my date had the Chipotle bacon burger that looked delicious . We paired our meals with a bottle of CK Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon. The staff here were friendly for the most part, but I felt as if our server was rushing us to get our food. Nothing special about this place. The glasses are clean, the beer is cold - not much more you can expect. The staff was friendly when I visited during the day on a weekend. I have been here on a weekend, and it is absolute mayhem. Just be forewarned! College kids are all over this place on the weekends and nights. Service is always good when it is really busy, but the crowd and people are more of the problem in this space. The décor is nice for Morristown, as it should be. I have never eaten here so I can not talk about the food. From the looks of the menu, it is nothing to be excited about. read more

Bar closes at "2am" last call is at "1:30" yet bartenders will serve you until the very last second, then bouncers including an old man who seemed to be an owner will man handle you out, pulling drinks out of your hands and mouth mid drinking. Really should watch how they speak/handle people, esp because they don't know whom they could be doing that to. My husband was literally grabbed by security thrown out for talking on his cell phone in the staircase. Then a very aggressive bouncer proceed to insult me .. called me a "fat bi**tch" and PUSH me out when I went back in to close my tab...He also proceed to slap my phone out of hands!! Went from bad to good to bad again. Happy hour has no real specials (again) so its a waste of time. Places next door do a better job attracting people for happy hour. At night this place turns into mayhem of overpriced watery drinks and super loud music from the horrible dj. If I have to hear "tttttip your bartendersssss" every 3 minutes in the middle of another horrible dubstep mix I'll cry. They also do an interesting thing at the door, where they don't let people in for a while (even though it's almost empty inside) to build up a line and make it seem like it's the place to be. And I know maybe it was because the promo that you rescinded despite it being advertised at the front door and then later changed the value of to make up the difference. Very rude bouncers. I got screamed at when I asked if there was no re-entry. It was 1:30 and I saw some people try to go outside but turn around and come back. I just asked to be sure and he said "NO RE-ENTRY HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY IT!" Excuse me but I was 15 ft away from the people who turned around. I was pretty sure no re-entry was the case and that they didn't just suddenly change their minds and come back inside but I was just checking. I understand the bouncers deal with drunk people every night and it gets really annoying. I get it because I'm usually the designated driver and the other night was no exception. Drunk people are annoying and stupid and while I don't deal with them every night like the bouncers at Iron Bar do, I still treat people with respect. The tall bouncer with the glasses had none of that. Other than that, this place was ok. I especially like how they have two different things going on with the upstairs and downstairs. The first floor is quieter and better for conversation with a more relaxed atmosphere. The downstairs basement is loud and great for dancing. Drink prices are very reasonable and they have good beers on tap. The bartenders were all very nice. Bathrooms are surprisingly very clean.
