We were genuinely in awe of how beautiful it is, and it made sipping wine with Brie even more relaxing. Leashed and friendly pups are welcome outside, and Brie loved lounging while we enjoyed our tasting. Angela, our server, was wonderful: we had such a great time chatting with her about their many wine varieties. You are welcome to explore the property, but pups should stay out of the vine rows to protect the grapes. I came to iron plow midday on a Saturday. It was not busy at all. My group placed our orders and sat under the gazebo. We got 2 wine flights, a pitcher of sangria and one bottle of sauvignon blanc. In total it came out to be $109. We were advised that there weren't really any wines they considered sweet, just sangria that they considered semi sweet. The sangria was okay, I will admit I've had better elsewhere. The sauvignon blanc was pretty decent though. The view of this place was amazing. Aside from the gorgeous scenery, there was not any wine that stuck out to me in particular. read more

I have been here 1ce before but it was quite a few years ago. For a Saturday, it was pretty quiet, not many people. We were greeted immediately and started discussing the different wines. We were also told that the winery has new owner, the name will be changing and food will be added. (for 2025) Both inside and outside are nice for small to large groups. Great service and great wine. I saw outside, down closer to the grape vines where they have firepit tables. Weather was nice but someone came to turn it on at sunset which made it even better. Date night , 4 bottles of wine and a great cheese and salami board later we will definitely go back, they had live music and the guys was great playing all your requests from his playlist right the way . Iron Plow is a lovely little space in Burlington County farm country. I've been there twice now, once in 2021 and once yesterday, both times on a hot summer afternoon with my girlfriend. The tasting room is small and cozy, with ample space outside on the porch and down on the grass. We didn't get to experience any of the firepits or live music, but I'm sure that would only add to the pleasantness. I've only been to one other NJ winery in my life (Valenzano), and I don't know a whole lot about wine in general, so take all of this with a grain of salt! The wine was good. There was one wine on my first visit which was white and used IPA hops, which made it a weird cross between an IPA and a white wine. As a beer lover, I naturally loved this one. I tried a flight yesterday (flights come with three 2oz pours for $12), and there was one wine that I didn't care for - the chardonnay. It had a strange skunky smell and tasted a little bitter. The other wines I tasted were good. Nothing spectacular, but good. The servers both times were patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. I saw one guy break a glass while returning several to the counter, and one of the employees cheerfully reassured the guy it was no problem and he wasn't the first to break a glass, nor would he be the last. Overall a wonderful spot to spend an afternoon or evening, and a place that I'm sure I will return to soon. read more

If your day at the Columbus Flea market is a total flop, make sure to come to Iron Plow to make up for it! We had no idea that Columbus had a winery and thankfully saw a sign on our way home and took a detour! Upon driving down their long driveway of vines, you are welcomed with lively music and a beautiful outdoor patio. We actually never even made it indoors because they had a window to order and the best ambiance outside. I got a flight of Sweet Wines, which were decent. The only real stand out for me was the red sangria. I never like sangria ANYWHERE but Spanish restaurants and this was comparable! Hubby got a frozen margarita which was actually pretty terrible (but he should've known better than to get that at a winery, ha). Although it wasn't the best wines ever, it was the best ambiance and really a lovely evening (especially thanks to the amazing live music). If you have lively little ones, they have picnic tables lots of room for running and for pets. I will definetely be returning! read more

We showed up despite not having a reservation and was still able to be seated but had a blanket as a back up. The option to sit in the field is a good one. Came here recently after another winery was charging way to much to enter their food truck event and glad we did. The staff was nice enough, although out of a lot of their cheeses, but we were still able to buy four varieties, a box of crackers ($3), and hard salami ($10). I would have liked something sweet and a fruit to round out our chauterie platter. I paid $8 to taste 5 wines (two white, two reds, and their wine sangria). Their Cabernet Sauvignon was the winner at $17 a bottle. We grabbed a table and just enjoyed the view, watching people enjoying themselves, and chatting with others. We had a good time, sipping and munching. The indoor toilet broke and we had to use an outdoor one. It was fairly clean and didn't smell and hand sanitizer was available. It didn't mar our enjoyment, though. Although, on a crowded and hot day that might not be the best option. Anyway, we had fun and will be back! read more

It's definitely a place you can come and hang out with friends and family. Dogs are allowed. It's a small place compared to others but it has a lot of character. The vineyards are beautiful and well kept. We did two tasting flights. I was disappointed in the wines. I know it's just our taste. Out of six wines, we only chose one bottle to purchase. Two others were ok. The others not to our liking at all. To give you perspective, I went to another winery last week and bough 6 different bottles. I was hoping to add to my collection during this visit but I couldn't. I will say I bought the Chambourcin. Very good! The Norton was the other one we liked. read more

This winery has the most beautiful outdoor atmosphere and scenery. My friend and I tried the sweet wine flight. Our favorites were get plowed and their blackberry wine. It was a little pricey for the amount you pay but it definitely is due to the way it is presented. We also tried the pina colada and strawberry banana slushies. They are conveniently put in disposable cups with a lid and straw. They were tasty but again a little pricey compared to other wineries I've been to that offer the same thing. However, would definitely come here again to sit on the lawn on a sunny day to view the vineyards. read more

Iron Plow has a cute little tasting room and beautiful outside seating area. There is a small bar area and several tables here. They also have live music. A couple of reasons I only gave three stars. The wines just weren't for me. Even their "sweet" wines were very dry. Service was ok but could've been warmer. They were setting up for two large groups coming in (less than ten people each) and seemed very flustered. We told the woman helping us we wanted tastings. She poured our tastings into flight cups, we just figured they did their tastings different. They then tried to charge us for flights and were annoyed when we said that's not what we asked for. In a tasting room this small I hope to get a warmer reception. Unfortunately the less than stellar service just left a bad taste. read more

This place is adorable with a nice indoor area with AC and big outdoor area. Only a few spots with shade. Some people outside brought their dogs and own food, which was cool to see. I liked the wine here so much that I bought a bottle of Apple a Day - probably the driest of their sweet white wines and made from local apples. Surprise! The wine bottle has a cute label that I noticed when I got home. It's 15 for their cheapest bottles and glasses are $5 and up. I'd say that the wines are not for the wine drinkers who have a advanced taste. The wine I bought was more of a table or casual bottle. I also tried Trininette '17 and Sweet Dreams but neither really caught my taste buds. Good but I wouldn't buy a 2nd bottle. Of the reds I lost track of what I drank...maybe I was feeling loose, lol. The atmosphere was so strange. It was busy with a shuttle party so there was no where to sit on the deck. The inside had seats that were low and more like for children. I don't really understand that. It wasn't cozy and welcoming inside. The cheese plate for $14 was hilarious bc it was like grocery store cheese and no crackers. They didn't have much else to eat and they didn't have complimentary crackers in between samples. What a dud. I felt a bit rushed and I think my tasting was probably 15 minutes long. Also one of the people who worked there were talking about the customers like they were stressing her out. She was drinking wine and eating cheese as well but helping people. It kind of annoyed me as a person who paid for those things. We felt more like we were in their kitchen than at a fun winery inside. Service was very good, but the wines were hit or miss. Among the 2 flights we ordered (total of 6 wines), I liked only 2 while my better half liked 4, so the batting average was not too bad. Was a favorite spot to stop for a bottle with my other half. One day they were supposed to be open, we arrived with food and the doors were locked. Called them and they had no clue no one had opened. They didn't even make an attempt to apologize. Good thing I had bottled water in the car, we sat and ate our food. While there two other parties one of four and one of three came both also with food. More of a fan of the operation in general than the actual wine, but as a newer winery this spot certainly has potential and I look forward to sampling selections I missed on this visit. I enjoyed the few reds I tried, and one of the 2 Vidal Blancs. Beer lovers should try their white wine that was made with hops. Very different and tasty, but I'd have to be inspired as to what it would pair with best. I didn't taste any of their sweet offerings yet, but a few sounded interesting. The tasting room is of a medium size and along with the bar has about 12 of more tables of varying sizes. Music seems to be a given here, today was a solo singer/guitarist who I am truly sorry I did not get a name on. Probably the best musical act I've ever encountered in this type of establishment. Everyone in the room was grooving to his 70's songbook selections. There was plenty of family help taking care of tastings and food. They allow you to bring your own but also have some very good a reasonable cheese options to purchase there. There is also an outside patio area overlooking some of the vines. Tastings are $8 for 5 pours( fair size ones) and glasses were around $5. Definitely better than some other NJ wineries I've been to, and I will try to check back as new varieties are released. read more

We were looking for something to do on a Sunday and the husband suggested wine tasting. We looked for event on njwineries.com and saw this winery we never heard of had live music. The YELP reviews were positive so decision made! What a score. This cute winery is hard to miss, almost felt like we were pulling into someone's driveway but a few twists and turns and we were there. The tasting room itself is nicely sized and decorated. There is a large deck off the tasting room, and if it had been cooler that day, we definitely would have used. On a side note the deck would be awesome in the fall as the back of the vineyard area is lined with huge trees. I bet it will be gorgeous. Inside the tasting room we met one of the owners (the wife of the husband/wife team) who helped us choose our wines to taste. She was really friendly and gave us a quick history of the farm and now vineyard/winery. $8 for five tastes. We enjoyed our tasting while seated on the comfy couches. All were good so we each had a glass of our favorite. We also grabbed some cheese, $10 for four 2 ounce pieces of cheese (guessing on weight). We were supplied with a cutting board along with our wine tasting glasses. We also bought 3 bottles to go. The live music was great. Volume was perfect for the small room and song selection fantastic. Such a fun, cozy place! This winery seems well planned and managed and we will definitely return. Visited in October 2020: I really hate to leave negative reviews, especially of small businesses. However, the wines here were really awful. I agree with another recent reviewer that none of the wines are drinkable. I tried the flight of dry wines. All of the whites I tried had either no flavor at all and tasted like they had been watered down, or were incredibly acidic. The reds weren't any better either. The worst out of the tasting was called Black Horse Red. The two girlfriends I was with both got the sweet flight and were able to find 1 or 2 wines they liked. We ended up getting a bottle of their sweet red to share and it was fine and tasted like any other generic sweet red wine. The second bottle we shared, Tickle Me Pink, tasted like chemicals, it was so incredibly astringent. Everyone we interacted with at the winery was nice. However 2 things irked me while we were there. 1) When we arrived at 630 on Saturday there was a young man so completely wasted laying on the ground in front of the pizza food truck and it was very clear that he had been overserved. This is really concerning, but luckily he had friends there to drive him home. 2) We were seated at a low table that had a chimenea fireplace. A young man came out to light a log for us, but it didn't catch. When we asked to have someone try to light it again we were told no because it was too close to closing (it was at least 2 hours before they were meant to close at 10). We quickly left because we were cold. They can't obviously control the weather, but it was just odd that they refused to light their own fireplace for us. As someone who frequents a lot of local wineries in PA, I had been excited to try a NJ winery. I definitely will not be back, which is a shame since their property is really lovely. read more

I had a friend come from out of the state so we went winery hopping and since I knew that they had live music on Fridays I decided to add this to the list again. Everything is worth a second try, so when we went the customer service was a lot better than the first time. They had a taco truck there that was amazing!! And their wine slushies' were working! The Pina Colada was okay but the Sangria was amazing! So, I can definitely see myself going and hanging out there more now than the first time. Especially because of their outdoor grounds which was put together great. Oh, and remember they have military discount as well and one of the plus sides is that you do not have to make reservations for wine tastings like some other wineries require. My reviews are always in context. So four stars for a winery in New Jersey is not the same thing as four stars for a winery in California (or Italy...one day). Also, I am decidedly not a wine snob. Or whatever the wine snobs call themselves...connoisseurs? I am a beer snob, for what it's worth. My husband drills at Fort Dix once a month, so I am slowly becoming an expert on the area. This winery was a short drive from the Air BnB we had close to base. My girlfriend picked me up and we drove here--a beautiful drive through the country, by the way! We basically opened the shop up at 11 or soon thereafter. A little early for wine, perhaps, but my friend had a prior engagement in the afternoon. The building is cute and rustic with plenty of seating, and the porch is lovely for sitting outside in warmer weather. We both had sampler tastings, and I liked most of what I tried. We also purchased a cheese and meat board and crackers. They had some local pastries for sale as well--love that. My friend and I have different tastes in wine, but we were both pleasantly surprised. They have a large selection for what I assume is a small winery. I liked that they have some wines with beer flavors in them, but I didn't necessarily prefer these varieties. I appreciate that they are adventurous. I wasn't blown away by anything such that I wanted to but a bottle. However, it is worth noting that the entire staff was so friendly. I had my six-month-old son with me, and everyone would come over to say hi and chat with me briefly. I stayed after my friend had to leave, so I appreciated that they made me feel welcome and didn't rush me out despite the fact that I was nursing the same glass of wine for over an hour. There was also a live musician playing classic rock covers that I thought was a riot. The place had really filled up by early afternoon and I give it would be a great spot to hang out with a small group of friends. I haven't tried any of the other area wineries yet, but I would quickly decide to return here for the service, ambiance, and obviously, I'd be drinking the wine too! read more

I've been to this Winery at least a dozen times now and I always enjoy the experience. They do a good job with most of their wines and always releasing something new or unique. I personally think they do a better job with their dry whites compared to the dry reds. I personally like their Vidal Blanc, (dry white with pineapple and melon), Traminette (one of my favorite jersey wines -- dry white with honey), and the Hopped Up (unique wine that I haven't found anywhere else -- dry white that is hoppy / similar to an IPA). The wine is also priced relatively cheap with most being $5 a glass and a comparable price for the bottle. Another thing I really like is that they're open late on Friday nights. There aren't really many wineries in the area that are. Often times they have live music and a fooda food truck. You can also order delivery or bring your own food, which is a plus. They do have cheese boards for sale, but they are $14 and aren't the biggest. Overall, they are small winery but they do a really good job. This is the first vineyard that I've been too and I can say confidently that I'm not disappointed at all. The staff members were very helpful in helping us choose our picks for a flight. The Seyval Blanc is so good in my opinion, but the star of the show is definitely the white sangria. We ordered two pitchers. They're incredibly smooth and sweet which is my preference. The atmosphere was so nice, there was live music and the other attendants were very nice and helpful. I overall had a great experience and I will be coming back again for sure. read more

Awesome views and great people. Atmosphere is fun and not commercialized at all. This is a boutique winery with local wines and goods for sale. Don't expect award winning cabs here go for one of their special wines. Grab a glass or bottle and enjoy the live music and fire pits that they keep burning for everyone. Sit back in one of the lounge chairs take it all in. Also, you can purchase some small food items and cheese platters, bring your own food, order off the taco truck parked in front or even get delivery (we saw the pizza guy come a few times). Iron Plow was awesome. We went to their taproom which is distinctly different from their vineyard (though 15 minutes away). In the taproom, you can buy bottles of wine and get glasses and flights. Highly recommend the flights. They have such interesting sweet wines, including blackberry and blueberry wines. It's also tucked in the pretty quaint downtown of Columbus - so you can walk around after/beforehand. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be sure to check out the vineyard. read more
