First time here. Friendly service and nice diner setting. I ordered the large $22 Italian Sub for take out to share with my guy. The sandwich was filled generously with meats but unfortunately the bread was stale and it had very little seasoning. You can't have a great sandwich without great bread. It also needed more oil and vinegar. I was disappointed because I haven't had an Italian sub in a long time and was really looking forward to eating it. I hope this constructive criticism helps and management can make improvements.

Pastrami Ruben with fries, Cole slaw and pickels

Stopped in and sat to eat. Their were two other tables occupied. I ordered the Pastrami Ruben, it arrived on a plate with nicely staked pastrami, a good amount of dressing, saurekraut, on nicely toasted rye bread with fries. The meat was not too fatty, cooked to perfection, and the fries unsalted and also nicely cooked and crispy. I also ordered a side of macaroni salad image not taken. However, it was piled high, good portion for two people, and was great, not overly mayonnaise filled or vinegar sweet. It was perfect. My wife had the Roast beef triple decker and stated it was good. She wasn't sure if more meat would be too much and take away from the overall sandwich. She did state she had a larger portion at other diners but felt it was sufficient for her. My son had the cheeseburger platter with fries. Came out big, thick, juicy, and cooked to perfection. His fries were piled high, and he said, quote" These fries are on fire," lol. He also had a side of Cole slaw, and that was excellent. Overall, we had a great experience with the owner. He was very friendly, attentive, and caring about his food and making sure you're enjoying your dinner and time. Far warning the food is cooked to order. Most places have stuff pre-made set in warming trays. Not this place you get fresh ingredients, cooked at the time of your order by the owner himself. That is hard to find.. this is a gem. If you're in the area. Definitely stop in and give it a try. A++

It was a nice local diner. The chef cooked food promptly and it was delicious. It was tasty and service was good for a local restaurant. I tried the gyro breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese. Savory and bread was soft and fresh.

Corned beef hash was scarce and burnt. Grits were tasteless and lumpy. Service was not good either. Will not be going back.

No AC in restuarant, person taking order couldn't understand English. Served bad roast beef instant food poisoning. Won't be coming back.

We found this place on Yelp after doing a quick search for delis in the area and could not have expected it to be soooo cute! I should have, they are in Ocean Grove, arguably the cutest NJ beach town there is. We ordered online and they were all ready for pick up in less than 20 minutes. Our group ordered 5 different sandwiches, and all were made correctly and were delicious. They had plenty of accommodations for our one gluten free friend (she ended up going with a lettuce wrap and raved about how perfect her sandwich was). My tuna sandwich hit the spot. Sandwiches were anywhere from $17-25 each, so not cheap at all, but when everyone is beyond happy, it's worth it. They had a few seats inside, and the three lovely ladies working were all so friendly and helpful. They are on an adorable street filled with shops, not far from the water, so if you have time I recommend a little bopping around.

My mom got some caprese, I ordered the landy and my dad the bray's way. I ate half of my sandwich, but my dad could only get through 1/4 of it. We were full for hours. I loved the spinach on my sandwich. The mozzarella was also perfection. The ingredients are high quality and we raved about our food. The service was a bit scattered, but we walked in behind a duo that ordered 8 sandwiches, so we empathize with the chaos!

For sides, I ordered their Classic Poutine, but hubby truly was curious about their Meat Poutine. Can't say "No" to him, so we ordered both and skipped the Reuben. The Classic Montreal Pastrami sandwich was very generously stacked with tender and lean meat, so I was glad I forgoed the Ruben. It fed us very well, as we did have two poutines with our order. The meat poutine was delicious, but too reminiscent of our sandwich. The standout for me, between the two poutines, was their Classic Poutine. Picture this: Every forkful delivers hand-cut fries, gooey cheese curd, and savory gravy all together in one glorious mouthwatering experience. Pair this with beer, and you are in Nirvana. We no longer have to cross the border to go to our wonderful neighbor, Montreal, Canada, for delicious sandwiches and poutine. Finding street parking was relatively easy. If you want to eat your food right away, they have counter seating.

I loved the classic smoked meat sandwich but the pastrami cheesesteak with onions and Cooper sharp was surprisingly good too. What sold me on going here was this: "We take a beef brisket, dry cure it with 12 different spices for 21 days, smoked over oak wood for 8 hours, steamed for 3 hours, & finally hand slice to order." Smoked meat and poutine is a big deal in Montreal and rare to find in the US and that alone makes Bakes extra special in my book.

We were disappointed we did not get center cut fillet mignons. If you purchase fillets at Drew's ask to make sure they are center cut or they won't be worth the $67 price point. Nice place and seemed like people but 1 star for not giving us center cut. Drew's was not trustworthy in looking out for the consumer experience. These were for a birthday dinner so very disappointing. Have you ever wondered why a steak can sometimes be cut with a fork, requiring almost no effort to enjoy, while others demand a bit of a workout for your jaw? The secret often lies in a specific section of the beef tenderloin known as the center cut. When you sit down at a high-end steakhouse or prepare a luxury meal at home, the term "filet mignon" is frequently used, but the "center cut" is the true gold standard within that category. It is the portion of the meat that professional chefs prize above all others for its symmetry, its lean profile, and its legendary, buttery texture. Anything pieced together with a string is not center cut.
