Service was excellent here. I visited this past Saturday, and Sofia, Amina, and Rudy were an amazing team. Each of them greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel genuinely welcomed. I go here almost everyday, it's my go to cafe. I love their strawberry matcha latte and the eggs benni. Their food is surprisingly super good. My friend and I went here on a whim in the middle of the rain and I couldn't complain whatsoever. Despite the crowd all of us were served quite fast and were met with surprising portions for the price. We ordered a cafe latte and a raspberry matcha for myself. For the price of $6.95 we got a glass that was quite big for what I thought especially with light ice. Despite the fact that the syrups aren't in house the coffee was quite good! Not too diabetic while also preserving enough coffee despite the addition of flavour. I also like the fact that the coffees are clearly sized by espresso shot rather than some bogus size where nothing makes sense. While we didn't try the pastries or the rest of the expansive menu that did include sandwiches, açai bowls and other stuff like matcha etc we did enjoy what we got and wouldn't mind coming back again eventually. read more

Its very quiet in there, I felt like I had to whisper my order. I saw a lot of people using the tables to work, so dont expect to find an easy seat. The hawaiian honey latte was really good but it took a while to get it. It could be because they had a max of 3 employees working on drinks and food for a packed house. This was our second and last café on our little café-hopping adventure--there's only so much coffee and tea we can handle in one day. Honestly, how do influencers do this? We've been to the Island Brews in Hawai'i Kai and really like that location. The Ward spot sits right across from Whole Foods and has plenty of couches right outside the café. Walking in on a Saturday afternoon, the place was completely packed. It was loud, every table was taken--including all the small two-tops--and even the window bar was full. Since it was so busy, we grabbed a couch outside, relaxed, and looked over the menu from there. My sister went in to order while I held our seats. I got an iced ube latte, and she chose an iced mocha latte. I left the snack decision up to her, but they had already run out of pastries and only had sandwiches left. Since dinner was just a few hours away, we skipped the food. Despite the crowd, our drinks came out pretty quickly. Both were really good. Island Brew's Ward location is one I visit often, though more out of convenience than anything else. Their matcha is good--not outstanding, but still better than Starbucks (which sometimes is all you can really ask for)--but more often than not, there will be small clumps of powder that haven't been fully combined. As a strawberry matcha lover, I find their Strawberry Dream Matcha to be too sweet, but I much prefer to request adding strawberry purée to a regular iced Matcha Latte. Unfortunately, the $1 additional fee doesn't give you much strawberry purée. Their prices in general are kind of high, but not too unreasonable. Service is pretty good, some workers are very friendly while others are average, but I've never had a bad experience. There is also ample seating both indoors and outdoors, making it a good cafe to work in. Probably my biggest issue is that the straws are unwrapped and left in a self-serve container. While I can assume this is an effort to be more eco-friendly, I find this very unsanitary and hope they would consider alternative options. I've also Doordashed from here before, and my delivery person, in addition to apologizing to me about the unsanitary straw situation (which, of course, was not this person's fault), struggled to transport the drinks because they weren't provided with any sort of bag. Again, I appreciate this business's effort to reduce waste, but I ask that they consider other options to improve the customer experience as well! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in here for the first time and we were very impressed with not only the coffee, but the ladies working the counter. We never been here before, but when you walk in it's bright and fresh. Had some nice cushioned couches outside for outdoor seating, which were all full when we walked up, but a nice touch to the ambience for the place. Had fresh plants across the wall and unique paintings inside. I love art and it was nice to see. We got the haupia latte, banana bread latte with cinnamon, BLTA sandwich, and breakfast croissant with added bacon and avocado. WOW! The drinks were so good, and get plenty of other options that sounded wicked! We never know what we like get cause again we never been here before, but the girl gave her recommendations and did not disappoint. As we sat down for dine-in a nice gentleman stopped by asking how the drinks were which I can assume was the owner/manager on duty, and this i appreciated a lot coming from someone who works in the hospitality industry. When we finished we cleaned up the table little bit, and the girl came to grab the plate out of our hands, which we weren't expecting but very sweet. Island Brew Coffeehouse is one of my go-to spots when I need to get work done outside the house. Free parking in the South Shore lot is a huge bonus--such a rare find in Honolulu! The space is relatively roomy, with outlets conveniently located along the walls near the booths. One of the biggest selling points for me is their hours--they open early at 7am and stay open until 8pm, which is perfect for both early birds and night owls. It's one of the few coffee spots on the island that doesn't shut down mid-afternoon. As for the coffee--it's not the best you'll ever have, and the menu is definitely on the pricier side for what you get. That said, the coffee is still decent, and they offer a nice variety of lattes. If I had one other gripe, it's that the tables are a bit small. I get it--it allows for more seating (and this place does fill up), but a little extra surface space would go a long way, especially if you're working with a laptop and notes. All in all, a solid spot for remote work or study, especially if you value convenience, outlets, and flexible hours. read more

My friend likes to come here for coffee in the morning, so we came per her recommendation. This place has every Torani flavor you can think of. I decided to order the raspberry mocha latte and my boyfriend got the dark chocolate mocha latte. Both were amazing, but I wish I could taste the coffee a little more. The following days we came, I got the biscotti latte- because it tasted like marzipan/almond- and he got a caramel latte. I had it at their Hawaii Kai location and it tasted the same. The service was quick. The inside of the cafe has a lot of tables inside. I also like to sit outside. When it's sunny, it's nice to sit outside. Just know that you'll get the elements if it rains. Also, flies. So consider that when you sit outside. Will go back. The doughnut place across the street didn't have any hot drinks (what?) so I spotted lots of people sitting outside IBC. I received the coffee right away and was given a small fabric potted plant to identify me for my food order. I found a table amongst the crowd. The coffee was just okay; it tasted like an Americano and wasn't strong enough for me. I should have asked what coffee bean was used and about options ... I saw that on the menu once I was seated. Later, I perused their website and found out they offered Ka'u coffee ... That's one of my favorite coffees! My bad ... A server brought my croissant to my table; it was well constructed, with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and I don't know what else ... It was tasty, if somewhat petite. What did I think? It appears many people use IBC as their "office" because I spent a little more than an hour there and several patrons who were there when I arrived were still typing away on their laptops when I left. Inside the shop, ceiling is high, fresh greens are on the wall, natural taste, crowded and busy(little noisy) but not uncomfortable. I ordered 12oz Hot Latte and Croissant. The staff is very friendly, nice and cute! My latte and croissant saved my life(yes, I was that hungry!) They both are good! What I like them is eco friendly, if you have here they use glass cup. Decided to have a coffee drink and relaxed at Island Brew across the street from Whole Foods. It was a nice cool day today. Ordered my drink. The servers weren't very nice. I wanted to sit outside and asked if they called out names outside too when orders are ready. Servers said no and I have to check inside to see if my coffee is ready for pick up. I waited and went inside to pick up and coffee. Afterwards, servers were coming out and delivered coffee drinks and food to people seating outside. Hmmm... I thought this wasn't nice as they told me I had to go inside to pick up my coffee drink. Hopefully, I will get another person to help my next time. I do like to sit outside.
