Very cute, a tad expensive however. The food came out quickly and drinks were solid. The fried shrimp was my favorite and the fries were very seasoned

5 stars, for what it is: waterfront location, a simple, seafood based menu, done very well. It's not a haute cuisine place.

One of my favorite spots! Too bad it's isolated, but the food drinks and views are unmatched. My favorite wings in all of Charleston and I LOVE chicken wings.

We stopped by Island Cabana Bar for lunch and had a really nice experience overall. We ordered the shrimp tacos, ahi tuna salad, and a beer-- everything tasted super fresh and flavorful. The seafood especially stood out, which is exactly what you hope for at a waterfront spot. Pricing was very reasonable too -- our total bill came to $54.78, which felt fair for the quality of the food, drinks, and the location. One of the best parts is the setting. There's a huge outdoor seating area with great views -- you can even see the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, which makes for a really nice backdrop while you eat. It's also pet-friendly outside, which is always a big plus for us when we have Luna with us. Only small downside: parking can be a bit of a pain. You may have to park and walk a little, so just plan for that -- but honestly, the views and atmosphere make it worth it. Overall, fresh seafood, good prices, beautiful waterfront views, and dog-friendly outdoor space -- we'd definitely go back.

Delicious food with a great view! We came here for lunch when I was visiting my son and his girlfriend who recently moved here. I had to try the frose and it was delicious! We ordered the tuna nachos and they were really good. My son's girlfriend and I got blackened fish tacos and my son got a chicken wrap. We were all very happy with our food and drinks!

Such a fun spot right by the water! Parking is around the corner from the boat lifts, just a short walk away. There's plenty of seating inside and outside - outside seating has some shaded options too! We ordered the buffalo shrimp tacos, tuna poke nachos (which were HUGE), and a side of fries. Initially, we thought everything felt expensive, but the portions were a great size & everything was delicious. Also tried the OG frosé which was so refreshing. This hit the spot for us for a casual seaside spot. We can't wait to come back at sunset hour.

Very cool atmosphere to grab a drinks that's right on the water and isn't that crowded. Service is great all you have to do is go up and put in your order and the staff will come out and give you your food. Only complaint is that it does get a bit buggy out at night

We had an order of chicken fingers and fries (wife) and blackened shrimp tacos (me)... with a side of black beans and rice...everything was great! It was cold so we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful outdoor area but regardless, it was a fun experience and highly recommended. Parking is a bit confusing but we figured it out and enjoyed our time.

Awesome food and drinks! A staple when we come into town now. We got: Miami vice, froze, mahi bowl and shrimp ceviche

One of the only places that you can get seating on the water. The great place to come if you're just getting off the boat and wanna grab a drink or to even just sit by the water. It is self serve inside and then you can bring your drink out onto the pier and watch the boat throughout the harbor. Great view of the Ravenel Bridge with speakers that have music All the time. It can be really hot so make sure you wear sunscreen. The chairs outside are metal so they might be hot when you sit down. I got the mahi bites and they were a great taste and not too breaded. Very fresh and the people here are super nice. You can even get a bucket of seltzer if you are waiting to go onto the boat. The parking situation is limited in the front so you do have to park on the side of the street past the entrance.

This little place tucked under the bridge by the water is absolutely beautiful...peaceful, scenic, and such a fun place to hang. The only downside....The drinks are astronomical overpriced for just one drink or beer. Food is decent.

Love Cabana bar! All the food is amazing but my go to is the ahi nachos and a pina colada! Great place to come enjoy lunch on the water especially on a nice day. Great views of the bridge and harbor as well as amazing and kind staff. Would highly recommend visiting this gem

Fantastic food, good beverage choices, and a phenomenal location--the waterfront is always a great place to be. It's somewhat of a hidden gem--it's a favorite!

It's a great spot to relax with a drink and take in Charleston from above. The bartenders were kind and welcoming, and the cocktails were very good. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the drinks, it was a fun stop during our trip and a great place to unwind for an hour or two.

Appetizers/shareable- We shared the calamari and French fries. The calamari was good! It came with an aïoli dipping sauce that was delicious. The French fries were comparable to any other restaurant fries. Nothing special. Main entrees- we each had a bite off of each other's entree/shareable to sample. Swordfish sandwich- flavor was there, battering was thin coated and gave off a nice crunch. Ceviche tacos- had a nutty Asian flavor to it. Came in 3 little bite sized taco like chips. Miss Paula grilled shrimp- shrimp in a curry Thai like oil served with 5 toasted baguette slivers. If you're into Thai red curry, I'd recommend this. They advertised the shrimp is locally caught. Oysters- nothing too exciting. Kitchen service- The reason behind the 0/5 for the kitchen service is because they messed up our order so many times. They missed two of our orders and didn't make them until we said something. Instead of getting our side salads we kept getting fries. We got double of things we hadn't ordered. From the moment the first person got served their food, there was a 40 minute gap in between the serving of the last person. Our foods weren't served together so we had some girls having to wait to eat. Even then, our last girl got her food to go because we also had another rsvp to be at. We spent about 3 hours on the rooftop total when they were so adamant on having a reservation. We expected to be here for only an hour so we could spend more time exploring downtown but couldn't do that due to the speed of the kitchen service.

Don't let the name deter you if you are not a gin person because they have many options with different types of liquors. One tip: sit at the bar if you can, the set up is stunning especially for taking photos! The cocktail menu was moderately extensive with two full pages of complex and simple cocktails. Honestly, it was so difficult to choose what drink to get because I wanted to get everything on the menu. The bartenders were so attentive and talented - their implementation of each cocktail was even better than the menu descriptions. Not only were the drinks delicious but also beautifully presented. You can tell the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. The surprise star of the night, though, was the grilled cheese. Calling it a grilled cheese almost feels unfair because this thing was next-level. Perfectly crisp on the outside, rich and gooey on the inside, and paired with the cocktails so well that we were talking about it long after we left. Sometimes the simplest thing on a menu ends up stealing the show. The atmosphere strikes that perfect Charleston balance of classy, cozy, and effortlessly cool. Great service, great drinks, and one of the most memorable grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. If you're in Charleston and appreciate a serious cocktail program, The Gin Joint is a must-visit. Come for the drinks, stay because the grilled cheese will ruin lesser grilled cheeses for the rest of your life

We arrived for dinner with our 2-year-old. The tone was set immediately by our server, who was visibly annoyed when I didn't respond to his greeting fast enough because I was tending to my toddler. Rather than reading the situation with any empathy, he sharply said "Hi, miss" in a way that made it clear he expected immediate attention. Not a great start. Things only went downhill from there. My husband had to briefly step away to take a work call, and instead of accommodating the situation in any reasonable way, the server dropped water and bluntly said he'd return "when your husband is back"--effectively refusing to engage with me at all. Trying to make the best of it, I decided to feed my child first. After waiting quite a while with no assistance, I had to flag someone down--who turned out to be the manager. What followed was honestly the most appalling part of the evening. I asked if they could simply warm up my child's food. Not only did she refuse, she told me I could not feed my child in the restaurant. No alternatives offered. No attempt at accommodation. No offer for a kid friendly food item, or no offer to feed her in the hotel lobby. Her "solution" was that I should leave the restaurant and go find some outdoor space nearby to feed my toddler. To make matters worse, she added that "service will start at 6:15 sharp," essentially implying I should figure it out and be back on their timeline. The complete lack of empathy, flexibility, or basic hospitality was astonishing. I have never encountered such dismissive and hostile behavior toward a family with a young child--especially at a supposedly high-end establishment. Mind you we have been to plenty of restaurants including 3 Michelin stars. If you're dining with a child--or frankly, if you expect to be treated with basic respect--I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.
