The Chamorro food scene in Vegas is a bit smaller, so finding good Chamorro food is always a treat. The flavors here are spot on every time and tastes like that nostalgic backyard cookout food. The meat is always well-marinated, flavorful, and grilled just right. I usually order the Fiesta Plate, which comes with a sparerib, short rib, grilled chicken thigh, chicken kelaguen, a hot dog, red rice, potato salad, and a side of fina'denne. It's a HUGE portion and feeds me more than once. The servings are generous and I recall only one time I was slightly disappointed when my sparerib was on the smaller end (it was one of the end pieces and you get only one in the meal). If you're in the area and love grilled bbq and vinegar and soy flavors, this is the next spot to try. read more

The restaurant is small but we typically do takeout so it really doesnt matter. Even still, we have eaten at the restaurant before, no problem. The employees are welcoming and always nice. We usually order all the different kinds of barbeque along with chicken kelaguen and empanadas - and everything tastes amazing! The only issue I can think of is that they ran out of food before closing a couple times which can be upsetting when youre craving chamorro food for dinner. Came here on a whim as I was in the area checking out the trade school in the plaza. I haven't had Chamorro food in a long time so my husband and I decided to eat an early lunch here while our kids were in school and we had a baby sitter for the baby. When we got in the owner was talking to us and while we ate. I ordered the all in plate and my husband got the keleguen plate. With that being said, I grew up with a lot of Chamorros in Washington state and am familiar with the cooking. This place hit it on spot with everything I have eaten. Everything was so good. If you want real deal Chamorro food, come here. Also, having the owner chop it up with us while we ate is something you don't see often. Went for the first time with my friend today (thank goodness I did since it was their last day at this location!), grabbed me the kelaguen plate and a couple empanadas, and everything was very delicious! Marinated just right, flavors on point. There's not much Chamorro food on my side of town so I'm glad to hear they're relocating that way!! First impression, it's a small out dated shop. I don't mind because the best foods come from places like this. You definitely don't pay for the service. The front cashier guy litterally doesn't give af. He's just there to do his job. No hi, how can I help you, nothing. Now to the food, we got the fiesta plate. If you're looking for BBQ that tastes like a homemade back yard bbq, this is the spot. I liked the style. My only peeve was how thin my chicken was. It was as thin as the skin and for the price of the plate, not worth it. I'm not familiar with Guam island foods so I wasn't really feeling the other chicken side that came with the potato salad and I didn't care for the sauce. It's similar to Hawaiian but definitely different. - First, the red rice was light, fluffy and similar to Spanish rice. It was bolder in flavor to Spanish rice but much lighter than Spanish rice's big cousin - Jollof rice). - The ribs: spare and short ribs. The short ribs are very similar/identical to what'd you see in Hawaiian cooking but I thought the flavor was a lil better than most short ribs I've had. The spare rib was; great char. And, I don't see spareribs too often at Hawaiian restaurants. - The empanada of tamale? I'm not sure; I saw both names. It was unexpected. My uncle described it as sweet fried cornbread... I definitely get that comparison. - The shrimp and chicken keluga. The staff described it as their version of ceviche. That's an apt comparison. The shrimp was excellent but the chicken was more interesting (I haven't had those flavors in that combination). Overall, I highly highly recommend. The shrimp keluga was an add-on but everything else was one plate for $25. We split it between two grown men and was very satisfied. Small hole in the wall plate lunch place. Very mom & pops style family run. Friendly service with a smile. Menu is online or on the counter. They have some specials thrown up on the walls and board. No fountain drinks but they have our fave island style canned juices. They've got limited seating inside but they also have patio tables and benches outside. They've weather was beautiful today so we opted to enjoy our lunch outside. They let us know it would take a while for our food but we were okay with that and appreciated the heads up. Got 2 empanadas, bbq shortrib, extra side of chicken kelaguen, and garlic shrimp. Needless to say, everything was on point and hit the spot. The shrimp were huge! Came in with a group of 20 people right as they opened (sorry to the staff lol). Service was great. The owner was very informative and had a great attitude. The food definitely delivered for me in terms of flavor and texture. The empanadas were a stand out for me due to how crunchy they were and how it had the right amount of spice to it. Island Comfort is Guam Style version of the Hawaiian Plate Lunch. You get tons of food packed into a styrofoam container in a very casual environment. This isn't a fancy place but appears to be clean. You order and pay at the counter and they run the food out when it's ready. I don't know if my visit was typical. I tried the BBQ Chicken plate. The chicken was cooked nicely but to me was not edible. It was so over salted so much I could not eat it. Even for my husband who I think is a salt FEEN (also spelled FEAN) couldn't eat it either.......I don't mean to be picky but I didn't think the rest of the plate was very good either. The chicken salad was dry and the rice was abundant but very one note. My husband's All-In-One plate had some issues too. He had the extra salty chicken too, he said the beef rib wasn't as salty but was tough...so his plate wasn't that great either. Good Luck! read more

Came here because my co worker is from Guam and she was hyping this place up. Finally had a chance to come with her and other co workers and let me tell you! It's fantastic. I've tried another Guam restaurant but this place for sure was better and their shrimp patties are to die for! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I saw this today on TikTok so we decided to try it out. The location wasn't that far from us and since we love Hawaiian food why not try Chamorro food. Upon arriving around 5pm few people inside and we were greeted but the 2 teenagers at the counter. We ordered the "All in Plate" for $25.75 we just got one meal because we thought it was going to be huge portion, but honestly it wasn't at all on top of it this was suppose to come with the short ribs but they were all out so they offered the beef ribs. We opted for to go and eat it at home, when I opened it I was a little disappointed on the portions specially for almost $30 plate honestly. Tried the potato salad both me and the husband agreed that it left some weird after taste definitely not our favorite and trust me I love me some potato salad but not this one, Rice you get about two small scoop, it was good you can taste the flavor nothing crazy. The empanada was good and the lumpia was ok. The chicken salad side was good nothing special. The chicken meat which I believe it was a thigh was pretty small you get one piece don't get me wrong it was good and flavorful probably my favorite piece in this plate but I would have liked to get 2 or a bigger piece, The beef ribs you get 2 small ones it's a little on the dry side even though it was flavorful to me it's dry. I don't know if it's because they are closer to closing time and they are running out of stuff because some lady came in asking for wings and they were also out. It's a hole in the wall kinda store but if you go to other Hawaiian place around town and you get the combo specials it's usually packed of short ribs,chicken and beef for lesser price. I know it's Chamorro food but I think it's a little over priced specially for the portions you get. I'm glad we got to try it but it's way too pricy so probably won't be back. read more

The place used to be Kapuna Cafe, and now it's Island Comfort. They opened on February 12, 2021. The restaurant is family-owned and makes authentic comfort food from the island of Guam. Inside is a casual dining area of two tables with additional counter seating. The atmosphere feels relaxing and welcoming with good music playing great songs like "No other love" and "Wade in your water" by Common Kings. Menu offers BBQ chicken, pork spare rib, beef short rib, salmon and shrimp, wings, empanada, and lumpia. All plates come with two scoops of red rice, potato salad, finadenne sauce, and traditional chicken kelaguen which is the island's version of an appetizing chicken salad. BBQ Chicken ($16.75) is a generous portion that's very filling, comforting, and amazingly delicious! Meat is tender and flavorful, love it with finadenne sauce and red rice. Potato salad is also good! I love chicken kelaguen, incredibly tasty with a nice spicy kick! And Lumpia is wonderful! It's crispy and has savory meat and rice vermicelli, so good! For dessert, Buchibuchi ($2) is delightful! It's sourced from a local vendor, the pastry is light and crispy like an empanada with tasty pumpkin pie filling, so yummy and not too sweet! Another treat offered is Apple Empanada, which is made in-house by Island Comfort. They do cater and highly recommend to place an order one week in advance. Service from LJ and Kaiser is exceptional and outstanding! They're very kind, attentive, personable, courteous, and polite. Came here tonight with my husband and some friends who grew up in Guam. Some of the best bbq and red rice we've ever had. I couldn't stop eating even though I was so full. Kelaguen and lumpia are also delicious. Everything is super flavorful and is made with passion to keep the culture alive. Owner and hospitality here is awesome- feels like old friends. As soon as we stepped in the owner, Shawn greeted us and went over their menu briefly. We decided on the All In Plate I think it was called. The plate was big! Everything was really tasty, and nicely marinated. The red rice was so delicious! My kids ate that up! Everything is made to order so it did take about 15-20 minutes. Was in town for the week with Family and knew I was able to find me some island food here. I found this island treasure and was ready to grind some island food. The location is GREAT! The place was easy to find, and parking was easy. I already felt like home looking at that photo outside of their business. And of course, like home, ALWAYS A WARM WELCOME!!! Walked in the establishment with the Che'lu behind the counter who was truly welcoming and friendly. Although we already knew what we were ordering, we got a quick rundown of the menu which I felt was thoughtful to do (because I know our island people are just respectful like that). This looks like a FamILY owned business that is run ever so efficiently and smooth. LOVED IT!!! The FOOD was SO ONO-LICIOUS. IT HIT MY TUMMY RIGHT ON THE SPOT! We ordered the Fiesta Plate, All In Plate, side of Empanadas, Kelaguen and King Car Iced Tea. The wait for the food was not long at all, it was worth the wait. We ordered the All in Plate and Fiesta Plate. Delicious and *lots* of food, though we somehow had no leftovers.
