I've had the Jerk and Curry chicken. Both are delicious. Not very spicy but flavorful. I purchased lunch entrees both times and thought it was a lot of food. I can only imagine how much food with the dinner portions. Owners are nice and friendly too. Definitely worth visiting again. read more

Drove by and noticed the little stand. I said to myself " if they have oxtails, I'm getting it". My prayers were answered. The customer service was good. The food was out and ready in a few minutes. I didn't open it until I stopped somewhere. I was in awe. Presentation is everything to me. The plate was full and good portion too. Now the flavor? Wow it really buttered my muffin!! The rice tasted good and sweet. It was like I was back home in Honduras. I was in heaven! The oxtails were marinated to perfection, tender and soft. I honestly am glad I stopped and got their food. One of this best I've ever tasted in Houston/Jersey Village area. I am from New York (but family originally from the islands) so I've tasted some of the best. The snapper takes some time to cook because it's made to order but worth it. It has the perfect amount of seasoning and the pepper sauce is an amazing compliment to the fish. However I will not let mediocrity be a standard just because there's very little competition. Although the jerk chicken flavor was good the meet was old and dried up and hard. Although there were a good amount of ox tails, the ox tails were undercooked very chewy and you had to fight to get it off the bone. I drove up to the window, was not greeted just stared at by the elderly man at the window, that's fine. I ordered the jerk chicken, double cabbage, & plantains. My chicken was warm, but pretty good, the plantains were ok, not sugary like I'm use to but ok, but the cabbage was cold and extremely disgusting. Where to start. The customer service at this place really does suck! I placed a pickup order through grub hub. I have never been to this establishment personally as I have always ordered delivery. I should have stuck to that. When I arrive to pick up my food I'm told very rudely that they did not have my order. Very confused I look up my receipt and inform him that it was placed through grub hub to which he responds even more rude and aggressively "I don't have it through grub hub either" . At this point I'm on the phone with grub hub trying to sort it out and there's no mistake , my order is placed there for TAKEOUT. Finally this asshole tells me the grub hub driver has left with my food. WHAT! To go where ? Finally I realized that my order was over looked by the restaurant and after rudely insisting that he didn't have it he was too embarrassed and ignorant to admit to his mistake. I will never patronize this dump again and would advise everyone not to get to attached as this place epitomizes everything that is wrong with black businesses and will surely fail with this person as their face. My family and I stumbled upon this tiny restaurant Thursday evening, as we were passing through town. We ordered jerk chicken and curry chicken dinners and were truly pleased with our dinners! We shared plates and were amazed at the healthy proportions and the flavorful taste of both entrees. I wish we lived closer to Houston, as we would come here regularly. Who send me here again? Its so bad that this is the only Caribbean restaurant in the area. The food is so bad. The brown stew chicken was dry and the sauce wasnt even flavorful. Wow! I was always curious about what this little place was, and I'm glad I tried it! I got the Jerk Chicken Entree (lunch portion) and the box felt about 2-3 pounds worth of food. On top of that, the owner even offered me a beef biscuit-type of deal, which was amazing. The price definitely justifies how much food you get, and it tastes amazing. Perfect blend of spices, and the seasonings don't overpower at all. I will be returning! Also, huge props to both gentlemen working. Hubby Surprised me to Carribean food after being away from DC and NYC all these years. I was delighted to find one so close. Service was very pleasant. Small drive through hut, but cute. You could miss it though so you have to be looking for it on 1960. I believe its blue though so you could see it better if you are looking for it. We had oxtail plate and curry goat plate. Both were cooked to perfection. Plates are big and heavy. Plaintain was perfect. RIce and Peas perfect cook. Beef patties were fresh and perfectly cooked in texture as well. My only desire was hoping it had a little more spice or seasoning. I was not very disappointed because the cook was so good!! Curried goat was perfect and falling off the bone as was the oxtails. Got a few big pieces. Was pricey but also for the size of the plate I was okay with it. They didn't have tamarind balls, escovitch,bun and cheese, or roti( I know its complicated depending on how you like your Roti lol) or polouri ( which is not really jamaican dish.. but I was hoping it was there) but I was elated to get me some or than decent carribean food. I would go back again. Well I'm trying to order some beef patties right now but can't seem to find it on the menu and not sure if menu is abridged from covid19. Praying these guys can stay open.
