Lots of the younger college kids wait you, so sometimes sitting at a regular booth, you don't get checked on often esp if they are swamped. I have noticed if you sit in the front bar area, then you get taken care of better honestly. Ambiance: Nice place to take friends and family to. Lots of Hawaiian music and lots of tvs. Cleanliness: Seems very clean. Never had an issue Food: Always delicious. I would go here for the Happy Hour so i can take advantage of certain foods they had at a discount. The menu is the same. I love the Spinach artichoke dip, that is always a favorite. Final Thoughts: Now that I am reviewing the receipt, the burger definitely did not seem like it should be costing $18, esp with one fry NO REFILL. I know many locations have been shut down. I can get a cheaper burger at Farmer Boys and I feel like the quality is fresher. We don't go here often and now I know why. Our tab came out to close to $50. I don't remember the burgers costing this much before but if that's the case we won't be going here anymore. Love Islands! We've been here pretty much every happy hour we can get and because the beloved Long Beach location had closed down. (Such great memories!) The very first time we were here, I think it was when this place had opened and a week into their service the fries tasted a little raw and the burger was just soggy. But I am happy to say that it has changed for the better and food has been perfect the last five times we've been here. They recently updated their rewards program, I do say it is kind of confusing as I almost reached a free burger. As it turned out after my last dining in, I have now $10, and a few extra points. Service here is excellent, always attentive. Staff is masked and the outdoor patio area is perfect for happy hour. It does get a bit cold and windy outside, even in the summer time. Speaking of happy hour, $2 chips and salsa and $6 mango margaritas and those little sliders are my go to. Just enough to fill me up. I've been to this restaurant a few times and the food is always delicious! The service is always amazing as well. I went to have a late lunch with my kiddos and our server (Marrisa) was not only kind and sweet but she took care of us from the moment we sat down to the moment we walked up and left. She's super friendly and goes above and beyond. I love their passion tea and before I would even ask for a refill, she had already brought it. April 2023 Ive been coming to islands for years but haven't tried this one till recently. I notice that the menu has changed within the past couple of years offering a bigger selection of items for both meat eaters and vegetarians. I opted to try the appetizers. The sliders were good but the spinach and artichoke dip were okay, i think it could have use some garlic and other seasonings. The chips were freshly made and hot from the fryer. The Bartender Joal was the best part of the experience by the way he took the initiative to check on the guest while making sure we were liking our foods. I would recommend for Happy Hour. read more

Came for dinner last night and I LOVED it. Our waiter (I didn't catch his name) was so kind and attentive to us. We ordered the Kilauea Burger with upgrade of onion rings and it was top tier. Perfect medium burger with amazing crunchy texture on top from the crusted jalapeño and pepper (I think?). My bf and I split half and half but I wish I could have just eaten this one all to myself because it was great. The onion rings were also perfectly. Perfect balance of batter to onion and super super crisp. My bf ordered the Malibu Burger, basically a cheeseburger with bacon on it and all of the fixings. This was good but not as memorable as the Kilauea. My bf said it was a bit on the dry side. I didn't mind too much because the rest of what we got was fantastic. Normally probably wouldn't count Islands as a go-to spot but this place was extremely solid in both quality and service and I will definitely come back for a delicious burger meal! read more

French fries not from the bottom of the barrel maybe Cerritos town center to check out their cooks. we'll probably go back to Cerritos town center and try again. I rated this 4 stars for a couple of reasons. The burgers are consistent, the ambiance is relaxing, the location is convenient, and the service is attentive. The last time I ate at an Island's burger place, I was 19. It's been 13 years and I'm surprised that the buns are still as soft, the fries, and onion rings are just as I remembered it. So, kudos to the restaurant for being in business for so long. Obviously, since the last time I was there, they've added some new things like the Impossible burger, which I had to try. My mom got her favorite Hawaiian burger and, honestly, everything was very familiar and quite nostalgic for the both of us. Now for the Impossible burger, it definitely tasted somewhat greasy like a beef burger. What threw me off was the nutty taste. It's interesting, but it was also very satisfying. My only grudge is probably the shredded lettuce. It everywhere, but would not stay in the burger. My mom's Hawaiian burger had two generous slices of pineapple in it and tasted quite good. In retrospect, we should have gotten the teriyaki sauce on the side. It was really messy. A really nice bonus of this location is the close proximity to a movie theater, Starbucks, Kohl's, HomeGoods, Trader Joe's, Walmart, and other food places. So, after a morning movie, you can grab lunch (at Islands, of course), do some grocery shopping, grab your afternoon coffee, and be on your way. Or stay for dinner. Another nice to know bonus is the calorie count of your burger. A downside is the price. A burger will set you back $12-15. Drinks start at $3.15 and go up to $10 for alcoholic beverages. Sides and appetizers vary at $6+. The only saving grace is the shareability of the burgers and appetizers. Server was great. No complaints there. read more

If I could put no stars, I would. food was decent, but service was the terrible. Our table might as well have been invisible. Constantly had to hunt down our waitress. When she did check on us, she asked if we were doing okay and left before I could even open my mouth. We had another waitress tend to our table as the other clocked out and we had to wait around for the bill for what felt like 20 minutes. I paid cashier in the TO-GO area a $5 CASH TIP (five single dollar bills). I still have my receipt! I looked on my credit card statement online to make a payment on my credit card and I happened to notice a charge for $40.15 posted the next day from Islands. Pass the festive Christmas tree, follow the yellow brick sands and you shall find your order at the take out window. All team members are masked and gloved. Their app makes ordering easy and even notifies you when your order is ready. When picking up, Islands will go over your order to make sure they've gotten everything correct. Loved this part! Listen closely because the last thing we want is to have to come back an extra trip, right? Ordered the tortilla soup. The maui burger and the Kilauea burger. All were soul satisfying. Tortilla soup stayed piping hot and didn't need to microwave it when I got home. The maui burger, a little tangy, a little sweet. The Kilauea got a kick to it and of course the ice cream cake at the end with chocolate glaze on top were delightful. If there's anything, it'd be the fries. I loved their bottomless fries because it was nicely seasoned and crispy. Such a bummer having to give a low rating to this place because the food is amazing. The service on the other hand is very poor. They always have the same host who is kind & great but the servers need a lot of work done. Before ordering our food we noticed that our table was not cleaned yet so we kindly asked if we could have it wiped down. The short male server (didn't see his name) proceeded to say "it's just the leftover sanitizer" as if there wasn't coca cola droplets, crumbs, & condiment residue all over the table. He then was annoyed when we said that was not the case & we pointed out the areas that needed cleaning. He stormed off without a word and looked for the cleaning supplies in a pissy mood. I even told him I could clean it if it was such an issue but I don't think he could hear me because he diva'd off so quickly. Our host ended up wiping down our table as our server was nowhere to be found. We then decided to get up and leave.
