    Andouille Hushpuppies

First time here and I started with the new happy hour that day. It runs from 2-6pm Monday - Friday. I got the Andouille Sausage Hush Puppies which tasted amazing but I was shocked to learn that there wasn't sausage actually in the hush puppies. The description explains that there are pieces in it but then it was told to me that it was just fried in the sausage grease. I wasn't a fan of the misinformation. However I enjoyed the experience and I will likely come try other items on the menu as well. The service was good and the overall aesthetic was pleasant.

Went here for a quick dinner with a friend and was amazed by the wonderful food, lovely service, and beautiful setup! The ladies restroom had a massive farmhouse-esque sink! Ah! Southern style cuisine with that New American fancy flair and plating. Nice enough for a fancy date but won't break your bank too terribly. The menu was expansive but not too overwhelming. Definitely something for everyone with a Deep Southern delight focus.

Haven't Been to Isla's for Brunch?! Well Bless Your Heart... Isla's Kitchen does southern, creole, and low country cuisine, and they do it WELL. Not only do they serve one of my favorite brunches in the city (7 days a week! ), but they also serve delicious lunch and dinner menus, weekly specials, and a killer happy hour. And the Southern hospitality from the Isla's crew completes the experience. And don't forget to stop by their corner store, Connor's during your visit for all the best unique, local foods, and merchandise, and a delicious latte! Get into Isla's for brunch, order the Beignets and the Pimento Cheese Omelette, and let me know if you need a date!

Isla's Kitchen is a fantastic restaurant with great service and fantastic food! In the heart of downtown Tulsa, Isla's is a gem for locals and those visiting. A big space with a light and airy feel. The service is great as the hostess greets and seats you with a smile. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable checking on patrons often without being intrusive. The highlight is, of course, the food where the portions are huge! The Country fried steak is made with ground meat and fried to perfection with a crispy texture but not overwhelming. The gravy tops it off with a thick creamy texture and is quite flavorful. The fried chicken is made in a similar fashion where it is served flat and boneless. The Jambalaya is also very delicious filled with various meats and is spicy but not so much where you can't enjoy your meal. Their celebrated Biscuits were well made and a very large portion. However, a bit bland which was easily solved with their home made Strawberry jam! A wonderful restaurant with quality service and some great southern food. Well done Isla's, well done!!!

A really good place to have a business lunch. The menu may seem small but there are some very good options! We had an awesome server (Christine) who was right there when you needed her whether it was refilling a drink or taking requests. Since the entire party didn't arrive at the same time were ordered the Andouille Hush Puppies and the Biscuits & Jam. I would recommend both! The Crab Dip came shortly after the remaining party arrived. The dip was actually very tasty but heavy on onion. It wasn't as hot (temperature) as I would expect it to be but it was still good. They were several entrees ordered; Cajun Pasta, Chicken Fried Chicken, Shrimp & Grits, Catfish, & the Kentucky Hot Brown! I think everyone was quite pleased with their choices. My choice was the Kentucky Hot Brown - it was worthy! My next visit I will choose one of the entrees. For those who could still manage dessert the Peach Cobbler and the Banana's Foster Bread Pudding - it was shared of course! Very good! If our group opts to dine here again I'm all in!

I'll start by saying the staff was lovely and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. I felt super comfortable and welcomed. However, the food wasn't worth raving about. I thought the burger was delicious and the fries were just okay, nothing "Cajun" about them though. I'd come back to try something else because of the service alone.

Nice atmosphere and I love that there is an attached market! Menu is southern classics with lots of choices. Wait staff was friendly but paying for our tickets and finishing the transactions took quite awhile. Maybe let your server know you need to get back to work after lunch when you order. Good for a leisurely meal, maybe not so good if you're in a hurry. Suggest getting it to go lol. I ordered the pimento cheese omelet without bacon. Our server repeated it back to me and the person delivering the food said it did not have bacon in it. My omelet arrived completely full of bacon so I asked others at my table if I had received their meal in error and both omelets at the table had bacon inside of them. The food took awhile to arrive so I didn't want to sent it back - I just picked it out. Everyone else's meals were huge and they enjoyed them. It's a good value for the price. The market next to the restaurant had a selection of ready to eat meals, homemade sauces, pastries, Made in Oklahoma food items, handmade cards, shirts, and stickers. Very cute shop. I purchased some local honey and 2 bagel bombs: Sopapilla Cheesecake and Apple Pie. The Sopapilla Cheesecake was not sweet inside, I was expecting it to be more cheesecake than cream cheese. It was still good though. The Apple Pie one was disappointing - the dough was raw and the apples had a weird flavor. I unfortunately had to throw it away. Overall I would like to bring my in-laws here as this is their favorite type of cooking. I think they and my husband would enjoy it very much. We just won't be in a time crunch when we go lol.

I ordered the steak and eggs. It came with the best biscuit I ever had!! The whole meal was phenomenal but the biscuit was out of this world. Our waitress was attentive and wonderful and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is very clean and nice. A truly enjoyable place to eat.

I ventured into downtown Tulsa today for lunch and wound up at Isla's Southern Kitchen! I met my friend Cody (I forgot to get a selfie with him this time ) and we sat down to try something new! I really enjoyed the interior of the restaurant, as it felt southern and homey. Definitely reminded me of some spots I've visited in AL and LA. Our server today was a young man who knew how to stay on top of his game. He came by several times to check on us but wasn't too invasive. He was prompt in getting out order and kept up with drinks. The manager stopped by for a moment to make sure we had a good experience but didn't linger, which I appreciated. We started our lunch adventure with the southern tasting board. It was full of yummy treats including jam, black eyed pea hummus and boiled peanuts . The peanuts tasted fine but were served chilled. I'm used to getting them at the gas station or dude on the side of the road selling em hot. This was a little different. Overall a solid appetizer and got the 3 of us started just fine. I had the Okie Smashburger. It was quite yummy and pays homage to the classic Okie smash burger but adds a unique twist with adding breaded and fried onion petals. Not traditional at all but is a fun and delicious play on a true classic. I opted to add a side salad with my lunch and enjoyed the house made ranch with it. Overall a fine experience and I'll be happy to frequent this location again soon!! Cheers!!

I really want to give this restaurant a five but for how it presents in the prices that it demands I feel that the food and drinks need to be tweaked a notch. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The upstairs area has a lot of seating for more diners and they even have a little Gastro grocery store but I was underwhelmed unfortunately by the food and my side was completely bland. The staff were fantastic and I know this restaurant has not been opened that long, but I will go back, but it's yet to be a go to restaurant for me.

Good food. Nice atmosphere. Should be a lot busier but it was a Sunday afternoon. When downtown it's a definite place to try.

In Tulsa for business and went to Isla's Kitchen for takeout. I had a bowl of gumbo and a catfish po-boy. WOW! Super fast service and the food was so tasty. The gumbo was smoky and had a wonderful flavor. The catfish was perfectly cooked and the sandwich was AMAZING. I gave 5 stars because there was nothing higher. I will be here a week and will visit Isla's again. Guaranteed!!!

I was deciding between MisFits & another location so I texted a friend to make the final decision. Long story short, she chose MisFits & we met around 1pm. From what I've been recommended, my/our experience was pretty aligned with what I had heard. Random summer Thursday. Perfect for a good lunch. I was familiar with where MisFits was but never walked inside. Considering that other downtown locations either are on a one-way street, are in busier areas or have less parking availability, the location is relatively convenient. I parked right in front of the restaurant & entered an enamoring space. The entrance leads into a hallway with the host toward the end. Once past the "host hall," the interior is 80% modern, 20% retro. Filled with booths, clear lanes and a good mix of seating options. The lighting is perfectly balanced with large windows for natural light to be let in with other fixtures filling the gaps. We sat in the large "L" shaped booth & our server was with us almost immediately (there were only 2 other tables sat at the time). Of all the menus I've observed, MisFits may have the most efficient offerings ever. There's not tons of variety but it didn't feel limited either. Classic American Favorites, Only. While our server was wrapping up with the other 2 tables, I reluctantly decided on the 1/2 Sandwich (The Wifey) 1/2 Soup (Rotisserie Chicken Tortilla Soup) with Sweet Potato Fries while my friend ordered the B.B. Burger & normal fries. The food came out relatively quickly, less than 10mins after placing the order. The chicken sandwich was good but I was more surprised at how hearty & flavorful the soup was! It made me want to order a full order of nachos. My friend stated that her burger was good except the bacon was thicker & chewier than she would have liked (but she's picky). We conversed for another 20-30mins afterwards but I think we were both satisfied with our meals. Overall, I believe that MisFits has almost the perfect name: it's located downtown but still seems to be one of the more underrated restaurants in the district. If you want above-average American food & don't want to pay above average prices, this is the place to go. I'd be happy to revisit in the evening to see the full luminary experience.

Salad and Go in Jenks hooked me up and made a fan out of me. The drive thru lanes were empty and service was friendly and fast! I ordered the Fajita Wrap w/ chicken (710 calories/$6.79) and a Cobb Salad w/ chicken but WITHOUT hard boiled egg (because... ewww ) (780 calories/ $6.79). The Fajita Wrap was massive. No, it was humongous. Some might say is was "transcendent", but I surely would not. The cold flour tortilla was stuffed full and literally bursting at the seams with chicken, lettuce, avocado, black beans, tomatoes, red peppers, poblano peppers, pico, pepper jack cheese, and jalapeño ranch dressing. I could only eat half and I'm already looking forward to devouring the second half tomorrow! The salad was pretty incredible. It was also pretty huge. The greens were a very fresh mix of romaine and mixed greens. There was plenty of cherry tomatoes, fresh avocado, real bacon, blue cheese crumbles, freshly diced chicken, and a packet with just the right amount of creamy blue cheese dressing. The salad was diced to just the right size. I didn't have to wrestle huge pieces into my pretty voluminous pie hole. Overall, the price was right, the quality was excellent, and the freshness was unexpectedly perfect. Not a single piece of wilted or slimy lettuce was found. When you're ready to give your arteries a little break, go check out Salad and Go!

I didn't really like the dressing on the thai chicken salad. Food came out fast, it is only drive thru. I'll probably try one more salad before I decide if I keep going there.
