I originally needed network engineering to optimize internet connections for my restaurant but they were very proficient and accodomating for even some of my most picky requests that we took on an additional establishment-wide audio renovation project. For both projects, Erick was quick to respond, cooperative, accodomating, willing to work and finish parts of projects and clean up well before our opening times for 5 days straight (audio project). I found IT Guru on Yelp. The reviews are correct Eric and his team are professional and friendly. I left a message on Yelp and within the hour Eric replied. I spoke with Eric and shared with him that I needed my home internet to be faster. My wife working from home, my youngest son doing remote schooling. On top of that myself and my oldest son enjoy playing video games on line ;) I made an appointment for Eric to come to the house and check things out. Eric said it might be the router, modem, cabling, computers, etc...the only way to really see what is needed is to come to the house and check everything out. Eric arrived on time for the initial appointment. Eric did not mind taking his shoes off as he entered the house. I mention this because when I had the cable tech out to our home when we first moved in, he did not like that I asked him to remove or put booties over his shoes. I sent that tech away and called the company and they sent another tech who did take off his shoes..sorry I went off topic :) Eric said no problem and smiled as he took off his shoes. Eric asked me a series of questions, for example. What is your overall goal by this visit? I replied I need the internet to go faster. Eric replied what do you mean go faster? I said no lagging, just faster. I ran speed test and the results were not good. Eric replied " ok lets do this! Don't worry we will figure it out, lets take a look at your computers, cabling, home network area, modem, router, etc.... Approximately 30-40 minutes to complete the home walk through Eric had a plan. The plan was to test each of the data drops in each of the rooms that had cabling. Test the connection and if needed replace the cat cables and test each outlet. The areas where there was no data drops, the plan was to run new data cat cables either thru the attic and come down the inner walls or run the cables outside the house. Test modem and router to see if these are working properly and more importantly see if they are set up correctly. Eric gave me the quote and I said ok lets do this! Eric said great I will schedule you in get back to you shortly might be a week or so before he can come back to do the job. I said no problem, do you need a deposit? He said no deposit is required. I asked do you take credit cards, he said yes but if paying with a credit card he has to charge a small mark up to off set the CC company fees. The day came for the install and work. First thing Eric did was run a speed test. The results were bad. Eric said don't worry when we are done your speeds are going to be fast! many hours later the work was done, wow what a difference! Eric does not rush things he is patient, clean as he works and does things I noticed in a pattern. He did not jump from room to room without completing what needed to be done. Eric tested each of the drops, cleaned up the home network area, made sure everything was working, and left the areas he worked in clean. I want to add that a few days after the work my wife's computer was going slow. I called Eric and he walked me through a few trouble shooting suggestions over the phone but it still did not help? Eric said no problem I will swing by in the evening and check it out. Eric came and it turned out to be my wife's computer Ethernet plug on the back of her computer. I felt bad and apologized to Eric by asking him to come out help and it turned out to be the computer. Eric said "no problem this is my job to help you with your computer problems" I thanked Eric and said next project will be to upgrade the security cameras :) Eric replied "No problem, let me know when you are ready" Overall IT Guru did what they said they were going to do and stand by there work. Our job was for new construction on a residential home. Erik came out and assessed our needs for security cameras, entertainment system and internet. Erik and his team probably came out a total of 10 times during the construction and install working on wiring placement for the outdoor cameras, speakers and WiFi. He installed the brains for the whole system as well as our TV and hid our antenna in the attic. He was very flexible with the hours that he met us at the job site working around our work times and schedules. Erick and his father got back to me very quickly and was able to install the WiFi to our casita the next day! We have a large property and the WiFi was not reaching an outdoor structure. He installed some equipment , going in the attic, which had an antenna and sends the signal to a receiver on the outside of the casita. It works great.
