GETTING HERE: Located in The Collection in Oxnard. It's between Afters Ice Cream and Urban Outfitters. REVIEW: Meh? I mean, it's candy. And, a bit expensive candy at that. But, it's an experience for sure. I felt like I walked into a mini-Vegas with all the colors and options; it's definitely a bright and happy store! Very much geared towards kids/teenagers but there are adult candy varieties here as well. My attention was drawn towards the M&M and Sour Patch Kids pillows. I am bummed I didn't buy one but I'll be back I'm sure. I bought a Harry Potter Butterbeer chocolate bar which was tasty. Not too caramel-y tasting which was a plus. There was 1 young man working who didn't say "Boo" to me until I walked up and asked him about the chocolate bar. He was texting behind the counter which is a huge turn-off for me. Less cell phone, more customer service. I easily could have been swayed to buy the pillows if he had been engaged. Oh well. If you're in The Collection and need a quick pick-me-up I would pop in. It's a wild fun candy store and they offer samples which is nice. It's fun being an adult looking at some of the nostalgic brands and candies. Scoop candy is priced per pound and it's around $17 a pound. They have a cool sale section as well. I bought some fruit gummies and chamoy peach rings which were amazing. I love candy! This store has a ton of things to choose from. Obviously it's over priced candy like all of these stores are. The vibe is why I choose to pick out my favorite candies at stores like these. Any child would love it there. I just wish the staff would put a smile on their faces. Talking about this place took me back and made me nostalgic with the oldie Goldie's I found that I haven't seen since my childhood. Fairly pricey candy but everyone knows this . I do love the candy from here so i do tend to keep coming back. I'd give this spot more stars if they were actually open when they are supposed to be . I tried going today because I was craving these specific sour candies but when I walked up around 2:30pm, they were closed. I checked Yelp to see the hours and it shows they are closed at 9pm today. This isn't acceptable for a business to open and close whenever they just feel like it. We explained to my four year old son for a week that we were waiting until he saved his chore money to go to this brand new wonderful looking store, we waited 30 minutes (in the rain) opening time was 10:00am. And 30 minutes later NO ONE showed. My son was very upset and didn't understand why he couldn't get his hard worked for treat. We left and decided to take him to Rocket Fizz. The lady who worked there was very friendly. It's not a huge store, but they have a decent candy selection. My only big complaint was the music. Please stop playing stuff where foul language has to be bleeped out. And turn the volume down a bit, please. My ears were practically bleeding by the time I left. *Editing to say that if your milk chocolate covered pretzels are white, they're OLD. C'mon, It's Sugar. The cashier was very friendly the store was clean I did not like that there was material out in the open for kids to see- for example I'm gay mugs and edible under wear. I have kids I don't want to explain to them the hyper sexed world we live in at the moment! I think those adult only things should be purposely and discreetly placed in an area for adults only, like salzers does..rope it off man! I find it very uncomfortable that adults and children are walking in the same room which shared gay shit, adult shit and minion pen dispensers and also Harry Potter candies. I love candy and this place is candy heaven! There's a section in the store that has vintage candy from the 50s, 70s, 80s and 90s. All over the store you can buy a gigantic size nerds, kit Kats, air heads, rice krispys each for $12.99! This place also sells stuff like cleaner than shit hand sanitizers, note pads with funny sayings, star wars mugs, hello Kitty candy. It has candy memorabilia from Harry Potter, minions, Simpson's and more. This was our first time at this store and my kids and nieces were very excited. I was already nervous about kids in a candy store however we still went in. The second we walked in my niece grabbed a large plush toy and laid on it. I was trying to run in to tell her to get off but an employee beat me to it, she told her " let's keep this off the floor, these are for sale". In a very rude way. I apologized to her about the kids. Then... The way the candy is displayed is very hard to tell kids not to grab/touch them. After my son filled a bag I was going to pay for, he put ONE candy in his mouth, this employee then told him, " just so you know, you Need to pay for that first" She didn't smile at all nor was she helpful. I told her if she needed to add that one candy to the price of the bag she could. They are kids!!!!! In a damn candy store!!! My sister in law had paid for a candy right when she walked in and didn't ask for a bag and instead she put it in her purse. When her daughters wanted to buy something else, she opened her purse to pay. This employee looked over the counter into her purse and asked if she had paid for that candy. My sister in law said she did and that someone else had rang her up. She asked if she thought she stole it. The employee responded with, "it was a question." She just made this FIRST experience horrible and I will never return to this store. I am calling the manager on Monday morning and putting in a complaint. I left the store more upset at my children than being happy about the candy. For parents with kids... beware of BROOKE. She is not a happy camper! read more

Really like the store but the music is extremely loud, it sounds like you're at a club instead of a store. I even told the cashier it was loud in there and the music was so loud I couldn't hear her and I was right at the cashier paying. Can't even hear myself think. The store owner should really consider lowering the sound on the music. read more

I would have given It's Sugar 5 stars for its great selection of candy but the music was so loud that my kids and I could not talk over the noise. We ended up buying much less than we would have to take to the cinema. We were the only people in the store.
