Very poor customer service. We weren't greeted when we walked in but every other white patron were. The cashier was so busy with her side conversations in the back of the restaurant talking to her coworkers that we waited before placing our orders. Finally when our food was brought out to us upside down in a to-go bag it was hot and fresh but the manner in which the cashier plopped the bag down was so rude and the food spilled out since it was packed outside down. I'm not sure if they stopped providing eat in trays because of covid but this was my first and last time visiting this establishment. read more

I walked into this Ivar's and was immediately greeted. Asked what I wanted by employee. I ordered and paid. Was told of the sauces and where they are. Other employees were very good and friendly. Watching that as they took food to customers. Which was very nice. The employees were all top notch and professional. Was nice to see. My food was brought out without me having to get up. I work in Bellevue in the restaurant industry and my afternoon stops here help me power through my shifts. The location is nice and the building and staff are welcoming. Azel, as well as the rest of the team are excellent and inviting to guests. The location and view are great but food is tasteless and cashier could care less. I ordered the panko crusted fish sandwich and ordered fries but instead of telling me the order came with fries, she went ahead and added it. I ended up with 2 orders of fries and didn't need to pay for an extra order. The fries were so-so but can't get over how tasteless the fish was! The bun was also very sweet. It did have 2 large slices of tomatoes and some lettuce but even the sauce didn't have much flavor. The fish was crispy but lacked zero seasoning. Definitely not worth the cost. Sorry to say but McDonalds fish fillet sandwich has a ton more flavor! read more

I stopped by Ivar's for lunch. It turns out that they don't make English style beer battered fish and chips but just panko coated. Not my thing. I got a bowl of white clam chowder to go. The flavor was good. However it was pretty much a bowl of white broth with just a few random bits of potato, bacon and vanishingly few tiny pieces of clam. It failed to meet my expectations. Great view from the back but food was lacking.. salmon dinner was dry and fish and chips weren't very cripsy.

Great food, but what's even better is the staff! They are on top of the service and very helpful. Pleasant to be around.

What can I say about how great it is to be able to get food then sit at the beach with an amazing million dollar view. Our favorites are the fried oysters and clam chowder. Sure, it is all fried, but it also is not an every day meal. read more

I knew it'd be crowded on Sunday of the holiday weekend; hung out in the parking lot for 30 min, then went in to see how my order was coming along, and it had been ready for 10 minutes--now it was cold. Staff said I was supposed to call when you arrive and they'll bring it out to you, but the signage isn't very prominent when it's crowded. Got home and the order was only 1/2 complete. Called, and Rodney the Manager was very apologetic. I drove back to get the remainder of the order and he came out, again very apologetic and made it right for us. Bottom line--great customer service recovery by their Gen Mgr! Thank you! We'll give it another shot since we like Ivar's menu. read more

Fish and chips is more like chips and chips and tinniest fish fillets I have ever seen in my life. Never again.

Something was entirely off with our meals. In fact, it was the worst I can remember. There were seven of us. The seating was great. The atmosphere was nice. It took a while for the server to bring us the fresh out of the oven bread. I had inquired about the bread while waiting and he said it was baking and would be fresh. It was the worst bread. It was hard on the outside like day old and coarse inside. The butter was oily and left a bad taste. Each guest gave a thumbs down on the bread. It took away my appetite. I had waited all day to enjoy a Meal out with guest. The soup was not as creamy as usual. When the entree arrived, they all looked unappetizing because of way my stomach felt after the bread and soup. The saving grace was the teenage garbage disposal who had ordered a scrumptious looking burger which was the envy of the table. The teen took most everybody's food home to finish off. I rose out of my bed at 3am to write this review. Is there no dessert at this restaurant? We were offered none. It was so disappointing. One guest enjoyed her salad and one, the salmon order. We had made reservations. The slaw had no favor, the fries were one step from a "cold, go-back". The fish was cooked nicely . I think if it hadn't been for the bread and butter which ruined the evening and almost watery soup, it could have been a pleasant experience. The main out of town guest had to pay $40 for parking at the lot on Spring and Alaskan Way, Insult to injury. There is more that happened that I am leaving unsaid, I am moreso upset about being served and paying for terrible food. read more

We been at the Kirkland Ivar's a few times. It was pretty good the first time but after they barely fry the fries. They are hardly golden, she pale and limp. They try too hard to get your order and don't put our quality food. How can you miss up fast food??? Disappointed. I will try the one on Bothell/Everett Hwy, see how they are doin. read more

Ivar's is a Seattle institution and I was thrilled to find out Kirkland got its own location. The prices are reasonable and the fish is crispy and not terribly greasy. The signature white clam chowder is a must for any visit. Definitely a good place to stop by for a quick and cheap seafood meal. read more

I visited this Ivar's a few months back and I will most likely never go there again. I've been to the other Ivar's locations before such as the one In Seattle and Bellevue which both had great service. This one however was so incredibly terrible. They messed up our order and when I went inside to let them know that the food they gave us was wrong, an employee (might have been the manager) kept yelling at me to get in the line. I was trying to explain to him that my order was wrong and he just kept cutting me off and yelling at me to get in line. Mind you the line was very long and I felt that it was unnecessary for me to wait in a huge line when I had already ordered and been given the wrong food. Not a single one of the employees even attempted to apologize for the inconvenience and mess up. There was also an issue with the outside seating. I understand that Ivar's has little control over this, but there were a lot of teens gathered around the Ivar's. They were being very loud which made it hard for us to enjoy our meal. Overall I think if you want to go to Ivar's with friends or family I'd recommend a different location. read more
