About a 2-2.5: I really wanted to like Ivy Nails, but, it really didn't meet my expectations. This place offers regular/spa/VIP/gel manicures and pedicures, waxing, and eyelash extension services. I usually go see my beloved regular nail tech down the road, but, unfortunately, it' was an off day for her, and I needed to get a pedicure ASAP before a trip. I had read some positive reviews on Ivy Nails, so I decided to give them a try. I had the Spa Pedicure, which came with a sea salt and mint mud mask, orange slices (rubbed on the toes/feet; it was interesting that they used 1/2 an orange to do this; maybe to let all that vitamin c to be absorbed through the skin?), and the use of a hot towel. Callus treatments are not included in this particular service, and when asked, I thought that the razor/grater was at least included; unfortunately, it was a callus remover treatment, which was an additional $5, and I still walked out with hard heels; the treatment didn't work, so it was a total waste. I did request Tina, as she seemed to be a popular request. She was kind - however, I felt that my session was interrupted every other minute or so (she may be a co-owner and had to confirm appointments, greet incoming customers, provide translations/explanations, etc.); I also noticed that there was a lack of attention to detail - there was some polish on the side of my toes that I had to point out so that they could be removed (and, in doing so, it wiped a part of the polish off the nail...). There was also incomplete polish on the nails, and the tips were missed. The cutting of the nails could have been filed/buffed more for a better shape. I do have to say that if you have an ingrown problem, Tina is pretty aggressive in getting them out and you will find relief instantaneously, but would need a couple of days to heal from it; definitely better than seeing a podiatrist! Sure, the prices here are competitive, but I can see why; I'd rather spend more for a better job. Tips can be added onto a card payment, but it's better to leave a cash tip. The place is clean, and all the staff is friendly. Tina did my nails absolutely perfect! | originally was going for a SNS nail refill but decided to do a pedicure as well and she matched my nail color for the pedicure perfectly! She paid attention to detail and made sure that I was comfortable at all times. Everything was also very clean as well which really settles my nerves. This is my third time here and I definitely will be coming back.
This place is great. I always see Kim, and she does a fantastic job. My gel manicures look perfect for 3+ weeks, and my pedicures last much longer. Kim is so thorough and kind and professional, and she cares a lot that you are satisfied and comfortable. The salon is also very clean. I've been to many nail places across DC and NoVa, and this one is my favorite.
Yim is amazing! She's a gentle giant. She did an amazing job on my nails and feet and didn't hurt me!!! My mother and I are on a girls trip and decided to get our nails done here, based off the reviews alone and I'm happy we did. Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. So I suppose it is my fault. I have gone to Ivy nails once before for a pedicure and was totally dissatisfied with the service especially after paying for their highest level of pedicure. The customer service was totally subpar, but I figured as long as I had a good pedicure it would be OK... Unfortunately, the quality was truly atrocious. I vowed that I would never return. I broke my vow when my absolutely fabulous nail tech from Red Nails (in Woodbridge, VA) went on vaca so I decided to go to a place close by to get my nails taken off to give them a break. I went to Ivy Nails because it is close to where I live. I arrived as soon as it open, and there was only one other customer in the shop. I told them I needed to have my nails taken off, and one of the nail techs called a colleague from the back. When he came to speak to me, he said that they are incredibly busy with appointments all day and would not have any time to do this simple request. He unwittingly pointed towards the appointment book, and I went to look and there were almost no appointments noted. I left to go find another place, but it just did not sit well with me that this was clearly a lie. My sister called them to test if they actually were busy with appointments. She asked how long the wait would be to have a manicure, and she was told that she could come in right now because they are not busy today. I accidentally dialed the number myself when trying to give the number to my sister, and Ivy nails called me back three different times. When I finally answered, they asked if I meant to call and needed their services, and I was so frustrated by this that I told them that I was the potential customer that just came in to get her nails taken off but they refused to do so. When I initially had the horrible Patrick cure over a year ago, I did not take the time to write a negative review because I understand it is a small business and I did not want to cause them any potential harm. I also assumed it could have just been a bad day. However, after today's event hi could not bite my tongue. I will never make the mistake again of coming to Ivy nails. If you want a great recommendation with some pretty phenomenal women who do fabulous work, then I recommend that you go to red nails in Woodbridge, Virginia!

I saw Ben and absolutely love my nails. I went for the SNS and I am so happy with the results. My fingers are so crooked but he made the nails look great on me. I'll be coming back! The pedicure was relaxing. I appreciated the leg and foot massage! read more

Went to ivy nails for the first time today and while it doesn't have a total spa like atmosphere, it gets the job done and more. Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was PACKED. I didn't mind waiting past my appointment time because everyone was busting their behinds. Ben lives up to all the hype! I got SNS and am so pleased! I have wide nail beds and just not an overall attractive hand. He made them look like a hand models. JK, that would be impossible, but he got them as close as someone could. This will certainly be my go to nail spot! read more

I tried Ivy Nails after scoping the reviews. Ben was able to squeeze me in within an hour of my calling and requesting his services. Let me tell you: Ben did his THING with me for my birthday. I can be rough on my nails but they are still holding beautifully despite grow out three weeks later. He is talented and kind. I've stayed away from the salons due to COVID. However, the precautions taken made me comfortable and willing to come back more regularly to get them done. It's been hard to find a consistently good salon that have employees who take their jobs seriously and are also kind to one another to maintain good energy. I think I found it here. The woman who did my pedicure (wish I'd asked her name) did a fabulous job on my pedi too- the paint hasn't even chipped despite me hot tubbing it out for the bday and walking barefoot often. I'm impressed. About to schedule my second appointment. read more

Ben is the best! So glad he was able to fit me in. Love my nails!!!! They're very busy but very accommodating to everyone that walks in. Definitely suggest making an appointment or calling before coming in. Everyone was very kind and COVID precautions were followed. Definitely my new nail place. read more

I've struggled finding a nail salon in the dmv area since I moved here two years ago. this place is a hidden gem! I've been going to salons in DC near my office, but figured I'd try this one near my house. My best friend and I went for regular pedis and gel manicures and MAN are we thrilled! We both are super hard on our nails and they pampered us and made us feel like we had nails of an angel! The final product looks so good - will update once we see how long they last. Everyone was so friendly and happy and they made us feel so comfortable. Prices are typical for this area, but super cheap but also not the most expensive. We will 100% be back! read more

I love Ivy Nails! I got a mani/pedi today and was nervous about my first salon visit since quarantine restrictions have been lifted. I felt Ivy Nails went about and beyond with precautions. I was met at the door to use hand sanitizer and my temp was taken. Everyone working had gloves and masks and partitions were put up everywhere. They also had space between each customer and everyone has completed covid training. Besides covid precautions, my nail technician was amazing. Teri was thorough and did a beautiful job with my mani/pedi. This is definitely my new neighborhood salon! read more

I just moved to VA from CT and was desperate to find a nail salon that does a great job at regular mani/pedi, as well as, SNS manicure. I am happy to say that Ivy Nails is that place! To start - everyone is friendly and the environment is clean! The nail tools they use are clean and their individual work stations are clean, too. When you schedule an appointment, they're on time (much appreciated). In my experience, I haven't had to wait. Their regular pedicure includes everything you'd get at every salon, as well as, a citrus rinse (not sure what to call it), but it's awesome! They use fresh oranges to squeeze the juice onto your legs and feet, and rub them. Then they rinse you off and put lotion on your legs and feet before painting. Not exactly sure what the orange does, but I love it! It's refreshing and smells nice! The SNS manicure - absolutely love it! Coming from my old salon (that I went to for 10+ years), to here, the quality is the same. Specifically, Ben. He takes his time, and pays attention to detail. I told him the shape I wanted for my nails, and they came out perfectly. He cleaned up my cuticles well and did an excellent job with my SNS manicure. Truthfully, not everyone knows how to do an SNS manicure (they don't buff the powder down evenly, or they don't buff it down enough), but Ben really knows what he's doing and will take care of your nails! This is definitely my new spot! To whoever is reading this, I hope you consider this place because it's worth it. Was just drinking my beet smoothie this morning and noticed how much my new fab nails matched the color of it. Loving this color and loving the quality of the manicure. In addition to Tina doing such a great job and taking her time with my mani/pedi, love her super clean shop. I got the SNS manicure which is like gel but no heat (yay no heat!) After SNS, can't say I can go back to regular gel again. I like how my brow wax turned out too. Simply shaped and clean. I highly recommend this place! Make sure to call ahead and make an appointment. It's a hidden gem that more and more are discovering! read more

Started coming back after a short break and they're as good as ever! My nails still look great and Tina is a delight to work with. I only do SNS, as that has totally transformed how I think of manicures. Never a problem making an appointment, although I do tend to make them for the weekday morning! I will continue to recommend Ivy Nails. read more

Wow! After doing a lot of research I ended up going to Ivy nails to get my nails done for my wedding and Ben understood the assignment. He did an amazing job and took such tentative care when doing my nails. I would highly recommend! read more

I had read good reviews about this nail salon so I decided to give it a try. I came in for a regular manicure and was treated nicely but I was a little disappointed with the paint job. I had told my nail technician the layers were uneven and I do not think he understood what I meant. The part where the paint meets my cuticle, the layers were uneven and not very cleanly painted like expected of most nail salons. Would recommend the nail technician to be more through and meticulous when it comes to painting nails. With the photos I posted you can see that the sides and the top of the nails were looked over and not painted as through as the rest of the nail. read more

I had a great experience getting my nails done here! I got a sns manicure and a regular pedicure. The pedicure was interesting because they rub orange peel on your legs. I've never had that done before but I liked it! Also, the sns nails seem to hold up amazingly well, much better than the gel ones I used to get. Another cute touch this salon does is they give you cookies and a water when you walk in the door. They also have free parking .. yay! read more

Ben did a great job no paint on the cuticles and he gives a great massage!! Even though they were pretty busy and I didn't have an appointment he still managed to squeeze me in. In addition he took his time to make sure I was really pleased with my nails, would definitely recommend him! read more

After reading all of the great reviews and learning that my favorite technician at another salon was no longer there, I decided to try out Ivy Nails. It's also closer to my house. I called at 2pm on Labor Day and they were open but trying to close early. I spoke with Ben, one of the owners, and requested him for a regular pedi and a SNS manicure. He told me to come on in and that he'd have someone else do my pedi and he would do my nails. I told him that I didn't want to be a bother and keep them too late and could just wait and make an appt for Saturday; he asked if I would wait that long? I laughed and said yes I could just trim them myself until then. He told me to come on in and that I wasn't inconveniencing them. They really do want to make sure that each client gets what they need. Sounded good to me! When I arrived they immediately greeted me and took me back to a pedicure chair. Lina (Lena?) did my toes and was very nice and did a great job. Note that it's $5 extra for callous removal on top of any of their pedis. Ben then did my nails. He took his time making sure that he did them just right, as I mentioned this was my first time at the salon and trying SNS. He answered my many questions throughout the process. Even though I could tell that they were trying to close up for the day, he didn't rush me at any point. He said that they never rush their clients but instead do a thorough job. I came in at 2:15pm and left just before 4:30pm. So if you are in a hurry, I'd recommend planning ahead and making an appointment for another day. If you do need to be in and out quick, just let them know and I'm sure they will accommodate as best as they can. I assumed the SNS process would be just as quick as a shellac gel mani but I was wrong. It took a lot longer but I didn't mind since Ben was doing such a thorough job. There are just many steps in the application process. I also met his wife, Tina, the other owner and she was pleasant, making conversation with me in between nail applications. I learned that they were trying to shut down early to be at home with their daughter(s) since school starts back tomorrow. So sweet. They have 4 technicians plus the 2 owners that work on nails as well. It's $30 for a basic pedi and I think you can do a regular mani pedi combo for $45. I did SNS mani for $45. My total came to $80 since I added on the callous removal plus tip. I highly recommend Ivy Nails. They will make you feel welcome and will do a fantastic job. read more

I love this place not only because Ben makes my nails look amazing or that I get treated like a princess, but I love the friendliness of everyone there. When you arrive your greeted with water and cookies... Yummy cookies. The salon is clean, inviting and has the best massage chairs I've ever used. I came in with broken unhealthy nails after years of wearing gel polish. Ben has been taking care of my nails for the past 3 month and they are now healthy and beautiful. Ben is the guy to see if you want healthy flawless nails. Plus his foot/leg massages are unbelievable. read more

I get SNS manicures and while all the nail technicians are talented Ben does an excellent job on my nails. They have a wide range of gel, SNS, and other polish colors. Most technicians can do nail designs or ombre if you want. The salon is clean and comfortable. read more

Heather is unreal at nail art. Can really do whatever you want. She also makes a thin nail that lasts 3/4 weeks for acrylic. She is so sweet too! The dream nail technician! read more

Place is very nice and quiet you can tell they have a lot of regulars that frequent this location. Ly was very caring to my needs and nice. She paid attention to detail and I will definitely be returning to see her! I wasnt in love with my nail color (my fault) nor the slim pickings of gel options. I'm usually a dip person but it's $45! Which might be normal (I'm new to the area) but I just wasn't ready to spend that but they had way more options so maybe I will try that when I return. All in all great experience read more

I've been coming to Ivy Nails for almost 2 years, and they do a fantastic job every time I'm in. I love coming here. I saw Ben yesterday and was going to get my usual gel nails, but he talked me into trying SNS and I think I'm a convert. A few of my nails had broken during a move last weekend, and he fixed them easily with acrylic tips. I paid $55, and can't wait to come back and try a new color! read more

Tina did an incredibly thorough, beautiful job on my nails. I didn't even know what I wanted, but told her what I did not want and I showed her a photo of what I wanted the end result to be. She FAR exceeded my expectations! She explained why she was doing what she was doing, and took extra care around my cuticles when I explained that I have very dry, sensitive cuticles that ALWAYS get cut and bleed during nail services. Tina did NOT cut my cuticles whatsoever. Not one nick. Honestly, I can't recommend her enough, especially if you aren't someone who regularly gets 'fancy' nail services. Thank you Tina! read more
