I've been here a few times before this trip and the food is always good. The waitress agreed it was rare and took it back to the kitchen again. When it came out for the third time, it was perfect (third time's a charm, I guess?). The only saving grace was the kind waitress who felt awful about the sub par food. The kitchen put her in an uncomfortable position, but she handled it with grace. Checked out this place because I saw it was new and was curious about it. My girlfriend and I sat in the bar area after we were kindly greeted by the two hostesses. Had excellent service at the bar from Jackie, reed, tiara, and Adrienne. The food was amazing and they give you pimento cheese and chips as a starter when you're at the bar. This used to be one of by favorite restaurants but not anymore. It has gone from excellent to mediocre since the pandemic. For some reason this J. Alexander restaurant has removed most of my favorite things from the menu. They no longer have their signature chicken pasta soup, Maui steak or chicken brassiere! The food in a word is just okay. The sad thing is that other J Alexander's restaurants still offer these selections! I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

We stopped by on a whim to try out this new restaurant and were not disappointed. The Prime Rib is superb- the most tender I have ever had. The menu had a range of items. The side salad was huge, the vegetables that accompanied the Prime Rib were very tasty. The service was awesome. To start I ordered the smoked maple old fashioned which had the perfect balance of smoke and whiskey. Next we ordered appetizers which included the Veal Osso Buco Ravioli (saffron-infused pasta with sautéed baby spinach & white wine demi-glace), fries, and the spicy shrimp (lightly fried and tossed in a spicy cream sauce). The server also brought out a loaf of bread with butter as well. The ravioli was excellent and we had to get another order as it was too good not to eat again. I recommend putting the fries in the ravioli sauce, it is so good. The spicy shrimp was also delicious but not sure if it's worth it at the price point. Next, I ordered the French onion soup which was good but the cheese was a bit burnt on the top. The beef broth and onions were good once I got past the top layer of cheese. For main entree I ordered the cowboy ribeye (26 oz bone in, prime cut) cooked medium rare and covered in the truffle crust (truffle butter, parmesan, panko bread crumbs). The steak was served on a sizzling plate and was cooked perfectly. For dessert, I ordered the titled pineapple martini (a refreshing tropical blend of pineapple and vodka infused for 14 days) which was on the sweeter side but was good. I also ordered a crème brûlée to go which was excellent. If you are in the Cary area and are looking for a great steak, I highly recommend stopping by Ruth's Chris.

Since I usually like parking my car myself, this was a bonus for me :) Anyway, we walked in for a pretty early dinner and it wasn't super busy, which was great. The staff were polite and nice throughout our experience at Ruth's Chris, and the vibes were definitely peaceful, with relaxing lighting and the tables spread reasonably far apart. Our table was located upstairs (like most of the other seating, I think!), and we followed our hostess to a table in the corner. So far, so good! Our server was really nice but she did make a couple of mistakes throughout our meal. She brought the wrong wine for my wife and, at least initially, it felt like I was waiting around for a long time for her to come take our order, bring our table the beer menu, etc. Speaking of which, it's a little strange to me that there's nothing on draft at this location, but not a huge deal :) We were brought bread and butter almost immediately, which I appreciated, but unfortunately the bread was only lukewarm, so that was a little disappointing. My wife and I ended up each getting the Ruth's Classic three course meal. I ordered the seafood gumbo, 8 oz petite filet (with truffle crust!) with fresh broccoli, and the carrot cake a la mode. The seafood gumbo was a little underwhelming for me. There wasn't really enough substance to it, and the taste was only OK. My steak was medium rare, as requested, and was very good! I liked the truffle crust and will probably do it again sometime :) The broccoli was also really fresh. My carrot cake a la mode was a great ending to the meal, and I actually appreciated how small it was, since I was getting kind of stuffed! It was more like a carrot cupcake than a slice of carrot cake. I guess I would recommend they be more upfront about the size of it on the menu, but as I said, it was a plus for me :) My wife also really enjoyed her Caesar salad and stuffed chicken breast (I sampled the chicken and liked it too!). In general, we had a good experience here. I'm excited to try other local steakhouses so I'm not sure I'll be back here for a while, but I can definitely imagine hosting a family gathering or work event here and it being successful. Overall, I'd recommend this location!

My wife had the Filet and it was tender and cooked correctly for her, I had the Delmonico and it was very tender and easy to cut when eating. Great selections at the bar for Scotch and Bourbon's Bartender knows how to free pour for sure. Wonderful restaurant to have a special event for dinner, staff was excellent. Did not remember the waitress and waiter's name but they did an outstanding job the whole evening they are a true asset to the business. Keep uf the great work.

My husband ordered a medium rare steak but it turned out to nearer to medium to well done. Manager offered to replace it but my husband decided to try it. He said it was very good although more cooked than he preferred. That being said, he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Excellent service and we enjoyed dinner.

We were seated promptly, but when we went to place our order the waiter told us that not all entrees were included in the deal. There were no exclusions mentioned in the email, but he said management had told them. He said he's try to put it in anyway and see if it worked, and asked how that steak should be prepared. When our meals came mine was complete, but our veteran's meal only had a baked potato without the steak. The waiter then said that he thought she only wanted a baked potato, and he ran to get the missing steak prepared. By time it arrived of course, my dinner was complete (an entrée my wife was not interested in sharing), and she had eaten her baked potato. They packed her steak to go, included a new baked potato, and brought a plate of complimentary and still-frozen cheesecake as an apology. As expected... when they come, the steaks are excellent. The loaded baked potato was very good, and the parmesan mashed rather dry.
