[[HIGHLIGHT]]100 stars for this gem of a diner. Cute, clean, upbeat with a fabulous menu & exceptionally friendly service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd drive 30 min out of the way to return. Tip...when you see the option to join the waitlist on YELP, is says that the current wait is 5 minutes. So we did not join the list until it was time to walk out the door, since it was 4 minutes away. When I did continue to join the list, it now said that the wait would be 39-45 minutes !! What the heck ? I would have joined the list 30 minutes ago. So this seems to be a glitch, You should proceed to join so that you can see the true time frame. I tried to explain this to the man at the register, but..whatever. In the end, we were only 2 people and did not wait longer than 4 minutes on a Sunday at 8:30 am Lee loved the sweet potato hash, it is just not my thing, but I absolutely am still thinking about my sausage, egg & cheese sando on gorgeous cinnamon raisin bread..perfection ! Everything was delicious, I am sure that every single item shines, as does the coffee. Highly, highly recommended!

I found this establishment by searching for a breakfast place on a Saturday. The day I found it, the wait was really long. I was able to get on the waitlist via Yelp which was great. I wasn't at the location. I ended up being #44. Because of the wait, we decided to go somewhere else. Now two days later, on a Monday, I happened to be driving in the area. I looked it up on Yelp and got on the waiting list. I was #14. When I arrived, I didn't see it. I drove around to the back and there is was. Amazed that on a school day Monday, there were ppl outside waiting. I parked and went inside to see if I could get a bar seat. The bar seating included in the wait however by wait was cut in half due to being by myself. Once you walk in, there's a check in counter to the left, the seating area is to the right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before being seated, I went to use the bathroom and it was gross. One stall was disgusting after someone decided not to flush leaving only one stall. I'm assuming because that toilet wasn't flushed, it caused the bathroom to smell awful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. While using the bathroom I heard two people come in. One being an employee that had JM Diner shirt on it. She waited for the stall I was using. It was concerning that as an employee she didn't attempt to rectify the non-flushed toilet. I went back to the waiting area and shortly later, I sat at the bar. Each person, including the other customers I was siting next to was very pleasant. I'm in love with pancakes. I inquired about them and one guy described them being huge and he asked another employee to describe them and he gave the description of a little smaller than a manhole cover. We laughed and I then ordered - only one though. I also ordered a steak and cheese omelette with a side of tomatoes and orange juice. My goshhhhhhhhhh....their pancakes!!!! No wonder this place's wait is ridiculous. The pancakes were amazing. They were a tad bit sweet but the texture, size, fluffiness was delicious. The orange juice is freshly squeezed A lot if places don't do freshly squeezed. I will definitely come back here with the family!

The breakfast food here is so yummy. There are tons of options, mostly sweets and salty separated, not a lot of combo breakfast meals. The ex Benedict was so yummy in the home fries are a must try. Almost every time you go you will be waiting for a table. Service is great. The one comment I would have is that they do rush you a bit and come over very consistently to see if you need anything anything which can be annoying while trying to dine in. Overall great experience.

The food was delicious! We got them monte cristo and egg Benedict and it had so much flavor. This place is definitely worth the wait. Easy to get on the waitlist. We logged in from the Yelp app for the waitlist and it was an hour wait so we left and did some shopping at natick mall and came back and a table was ready for us. Breakfast was ok. The real maple syrup was a nice touch. 99 cent extra charge on the eggs? I wish they told me this before hand instead of being surprised on the check itself. Please be upfront with this. Not to mention egg prices are back Down. Will this automated change be canceled at one point or is it permanent?

This place is worth the wait! I recommend going on the waitlist through yelp before arriving, they might even seat you earlier as long as you reserve your spot. The people here are really nice (and they wear really cool pyjama pants :)) & the decor would entertain you. Monte cristo tasted pretty unique, just on the sweeter side. The corned beef hash Benny, on the other hand, is amazing! Daves corned beef hash was made just right, with the right amount of crispiness. Highly recommend! Would definitely come back!

Delicious experience, they have ice cream which they use in their delicious coffee floats or traditional ice cream floats, additionally they have mastered the salty and sweet archetype! Hard not love this place - both the physical space and the menu are small compared to a lot of diners these days. But their food is excellent. The breakfast sandwich with their gourmet English is perfectly done, and my son is convinced they make the best Belgian waffle on the planet (even without syrup!). And the waitstaff is super friendly. A great option if you're in the area. read more

Worst service ever. Their call ahead is a joke. We did the join wait list and with a 69-90 minute wait, and when you arrive at that time, they put you on another wait list! In our case they put us on another 29 minute wait list after checking in. Ridiculous. Never again!!!!!!! Poor management strategy, the join the wait list is a joke! read more

Super cute atmosphere. Classic breakfast/brunch food that's delicious. There's usually a long wait on the weekends but you can join a wait list. Recommend joining the waitlist early though bc the wait times can be upwards of an hour or more. Love this place! read more

I had called ahead to be on the waitlist but, while there were many empty tables, they would not seat me until the other guest in my party arrived. I understand that for a dinner spot but not a breakfast place that has open tables. Service was fast and very friendly. Food was OK though overpriced. My veggie omelet lacked freshly prepared vegetables. Only two specials on the board. I think there are better places in the area. read more

Summary: get the corned beef hash. If you didn't get the corned beef hash, you did it wrong. Order again. It's the only photo I'm attaching to this review, because you need to focus like a freaking laser. Don't be distracted until you have ordered something containing this hash. My fave breakfast joint is on Vancouver island in Canada. My second favorite to this point was in Tucson. I have had a lot of breakfasts. I have had a lot of corned beef. If you aren't ordering the corned beef here, you will be judged. It's why people don't consider going vegetarian. When you pass away, whether or not you had this corned beef will be factored in to how your life is measured. Get the hash. read more

This is a great diner with a huge, unique menu full of good choices and even some healthy ones! The space is nice and care has been taken to giving the restaurant a sense of identity. They also always have specials on their menu, so it's an exciting surprise every visit. The staff are friendly and competent; if you're about to order an insane amount of food for one person, they'll politely check with you first because some of their items are huge. If you come here, tip them well, this isn't Europe. Definitely order ahead with takeout on Toast or use their site's waitlist if you want to dine in, because this place can get very busy! But everyone loves it, you can't get a better diner in Middlesex, I'll fight you about it lol. read more

The iced coffee with the chocolate milk is great and you cant go wrong with their waffles, pancakes or omelets! This place hit all the right notes when it comes to breakfast. The family run restaurant has super friendly staff and everyone is wearing jammy pants to add to the ambiance. And...the food? Unbelievable. Typically breakfast is not fancy but they did something right. The portion is also huge, even for kids' dishes. If you have younger kids e prepared to doggy bag. Since this is a very popular place and a local favorite, the wait time can be testing. Be prepared to wait from 45 mins or more during peak time. Definitely will revisit again, but will arrive earlier to avoid the crowd! read more

Everything about this diner is TOP NOTCH. From the moment you enter and see the cute decor, the Betty bop that smiles as you wait at the hostess stand, to literally ALL the employees and the FOOD oh my goodness. The pancakes were the size of my head. The hot chocolate was delicious... the omelettes.. the potatoes.. I can't say enough good things about this diner. What makes this diner extra special is the fantastic service by every single staff member. Our waitress said "we work as a team so if you need anything please let any of us know". This is a diner I have been going for years. I truly love this place for a good breakfast that will leave you extremely full! The diner is limited in seating, so definitely make reservations ahead or get on the waitlist. We waited about 20 minutes for a table on a busy Sunday. It will get very hectic and loud! There's often big parties and you will struggle hearing your server or people within your party. The staffs are always friendly, and patient. They often dress up in different themes. Everyone there is like family, and truly enjoy what they do. Food portion is huge. For the price, the food is worth it. Every bite of any food you order is enjoyable. They also have birthday topper for anyone celebrating their birthday there. Very kind of them to do so. read more

It's ridiculous that for one person to have coffee and eggs in the morning alone at the counter, as there were five seats vacant, I had to wait for 30 minutes. This is not the first time that it has not been busy, but I was told I had to wait between 30 minutes and 45 minutes. Maybe your Restaurant thinks that to make it difficult for someone to come in and have breakfast makes us want more with you. I am set up with a ridiculous. Wait time when it's clear that there's hardly anyone waiting and there are many empty tables and empty seats at the counter. read more

The pros, clean, and well-kept. The amazing ambience, that they were able to tuck a little diner inside of a strip mall, simply fabulous. The cons, burnt corn beef hash and the hollandaise sauce that tased more like lemondaise sauce. When I shared my concerns I was told without a hint of remorse, that is how it is prepared. In the server's defense, she did ask if I wanted something different. All in all, $65 for breakfast for 2 is beyond the pale. We will not be coming back. read more

Serving for over twenty five years, traditional diner breakfasts with a twist. 364 days a year (closed Christmas Day Only). Using our 35 plus years in the food service industry to bring you fresh cooked to order breakfasts, large portions, quickly and hot. With a strong emphasis on service while still getting to know your name. All of the for mentioned is our recipe for great value. Over all our number one specialty is our motto "The Way Things Used To Be".

History

Established in 1998.

The J stands for Juliana our oldest daughter and the M stands for Mihlan our middle daughter whose name is pronounced like the city in northern Italy. Our youngest daughter, Simone was born in 2001 and missed out so our counter is dedicated to her. Originally a donut shop with no soda fountain, ice machine and very little equipment we had our work cut out for us. We built a new kitchen in the back with a large pass through window so we could see what was going on in our fifty seat dining room. Counter seating, tables with chairs and booth seating, we knew it would give the diner a manageable mix. Since we opened in 1998 we have won many awards both locally and regionally. On March 11th 2017 we tragically lost our family business of 20 years to a fire that spread from the other end of the plaza, sadly destroying all of the other businesses as well. Later that year on November 27th we reopened in a new location directly on route 9 in Framingham with double the seating!

Meet the Business Owner: Dave F.

Originally from Wayland Dave's restaurant career started at The Villa and The Wayland House in the earlier seventies. A member of the first graduation class of Minuteman Tech School as a culinary arts major and holding a degree in International Hotel & Restaurant Management from Florida International University. The self-proclaimed "chef by trade" has an extensive background in the restaurant business. He has worked for both the Bay Tower Room and Ritz Carlton of Boston. The kid in question was literally sitting in his chair with one foot against the table. We explained to the manager the impact of what he said, and gave him multiple opportunities to apologize. We get it: its St Patrick's Day in an Irish bar and it's stressful. But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

I have been a huge fan of J&M sense the moment I first stepped through their doors about a year or so ago. The first thing I noticed was the very chill down to earth atmosphere. I was quickly greeted by one of the prettiest girls I think I have ever met in my entire life and she told the group I was with that their would be a brief wait. None of us seemed to mind because it was a weekend and we understood it was peak breakfast hours. Quite frankly, if their wasn't a wait during peak breakfast hours on a weekend I would think maybe this place isn't so good, but it seemed very busy and I had heard a lot of good things from my pears about J&M so my expectations were high. The weight wasn't too bad and they had a big menu you could browse while you waited so we all knew what we wanted when we were seated. I got the Jack Daniels Pulled Pork Omelette. The weight may have been a minute but once we put our orders in I don't think our food possibly could have came out any faster. I got my omelette and it was one of the greatest things I have ever consumed in my life. Like for real, who thought to put pulled pork inside of an omelette like that?! People who take serious pride in what they do thought of that creation and I applaud them for it. Sense that day I have been back about once a month when my schedule lets me do so (I would go every day if I had the opportunity). I have tried many things off their menu and everything that comes out of that kitchen comes out quick and is to die for. Someone knows what their doing back there! Sense then, they have gone to a full breakfast establishment which I personally am all for! The breakfast food that you get from this place is absolutely out of this world. Sure, if you show up during peak breakfast hours on a Saturday or a Sunday you may have to wait a few minutes to be seated. There is a reason for that. This is THE best breakfast joint around run by one of the most kind hearted family Ive gotten the pleasure of meeting and anyone from the area knows it. I actually made a yelp just so I could review this marvelous place... This place has everything a diner breakfast lover could ask for, big portions, a kick ass pandora station that plays reggae music and the oldies, a wonderful atmosphere and an on point beautiful, hardworking, staff that ranges from a young looking mother waitressing and keeping control of out front to a 13 year old daughter cooking in the kitchen. This is one cool place. And don't get me started about the food... There's a reason why they're featured on cronicle, phantom gourmet and that there's always a line out the door! ITS BEACUSE THEIR FOOD IS AMAZING. It comes out quick, delicious and in big potions. Their eggs Benedict is to die for, and that Nutella stuffed wicked sinful (cinnamon Danish French toast) is just ridiculous. The only bad part about this place are just the customers. People give this awesome diner one, to three star ratings because of how long the wait is, or how noisy it is, etc. it's all the customers fault. If you don't like it then why do you still come in. And I'm sorry that this server couldn't get your side plate on time for your toast because you don't like it touching the rest of your food, Because this girl just got asked from a table of six people for all waters( and not just at once cuz each time she got back, each person would request a water) these girls do a lot! So give them a break and stop being so greedy! ALSO: The Host does not have the magical power to tell you the Exact wait time. Instead of getting mad at the host get mad at the CUSTOMERS for taking their sweet ass time at their table even though there been done eating for a while. I have bee going to J&M for quite a long time. Never have been disappointed with the food. But to me the most important part of the business, besides great food, is the way they treat the customer. The owners and their help are excellent people and l consider them more than "people" I consider them family. May God bless the whole group and I know that the business is going to keep the customers happy. Today is March 11, 2021 I am always thinking of my family and my family at J&M Dinner. I have a good reason for that. The food is great, the owners are great, the workers are great. I am not the only one that thinks that way. I know many people that feel that way, including my twelve year old granddaughter that I take on Wednesdays before she goes to school. I am running out of words now. I was thinking the other day how to write a mew review and suddenly the theme song from "CHEERS" came into my head. Without plagiarism them, I am writing down a bit, because I find it logical at least to me: "Sometimes you want to g Where everybody knows your name, And they're always glad you came. I really wish yelp have a separate rating system for restaurant reviews, because it needs a rating for service and overall atmosphere and a rating for food. If so I would give the service 3 stars, the food 1. This place is nothing special, typical greasy spoon diner, and very greasy at that. The menu is a cluttered mess. The specials look as if it was thought up by a first grader. The best home fries? Don't think burnt and weird seasoning qualifies for anything near "best" The bacon was chewy and plasticky. The toast were not toasted but rather just warm and soft with patches of crisp. Obviously they need a new toaster or the toastmaster needs to do a better job of not rushing it. The presentations you see in the pictures posted is all gimmick. The end results are not like that. If you really pay attention, they all look the same. strawberry, banana, blueberry and whip cream. I'm sure the kids love the look of it but won't be able to finish it. The point of a good restaurant is you don't want the customers taking doggy bags home. I love J&M Diner. This place is amazing, the food is really good and I've never had a problem with the staff. This is a very popular place, the best thing to do is reserve your spot ahead of time, especially if you have a few friends or family members. If you're like me, a solo patron, you usually don't have to wait too long for a seat because they will recommend sitting at the counter. I love the Eggs Benedict here, this place knows how to do Eggs Benedict right. I had gone to a restaurant at the Natick Mall that served Breakfast and Brunch and had Eggs Benedict. I order it and was surprised with how bad it was. So if you love Eggs Benedict, do go to J&M Diner, they have the best Eggs Benedict around. Granted the food is quite pricey, but definitely worth it. I would give a full five stars but when I ordered a side of Corn Beef Hash, it was ten dollars all on it's own. It was delicious, and one of the best Corn Beef Hash I've had but for ten dollars, I'll only order it on special occasions. Oh and be warned, if you get a glass of Orange Juice and wish to get a second glass, you will be charged for a refill. read more

There are some really great places around the area but J&M clearly separates itself from the pack. The food is amazing with great classic breakfast items and also some great specialty items. If you have not tried the homemade sweet potato hash or wicked sinful french toast you are missing out! What makes J&M the best though is their service. I bring my young daughter there and they make us feel like we are the only people in the restaurant even though it is always packed. Everything is fast and at this family diner they truly make you feel like part of their family. The parents should be extremely proud, not just of their business, but the kids they have raised. The family atmosphere makes every meal a special one. Really a great experience all around and my daughter never wants to go anywhere else. read more

This place is the go to place for breakfast. the staff is always friendly and upbeat and you get your food in record time. Since i have a 1 year old this is crucial . the food is not pre prepped or microwaved and is as fresh as home made. my favorite is the Eggs Benedict. My husband and i try to talk them into doing during the week since its only done on weekends just so we can have it more often. the sauce is the best i have ever tasted and made from scratch and not a mix. Its made that day so it doesnt just sit there and get greasy. the slice of ham they put on it is no deli ham or canadian bacon it is a HUGE piece of ham steak. AMAZING!!! the best part is that they have the "baby benny" which is a half serving so i you can eat it and not feel too guilty!! read more

I consumed a delayed supper at this particular J And M Diner, Inc on Feb . 12, 2012, at roughly 11: 30pm - a ham And cheeses omelette, hash browns and sausage patties. I awoke the following early morning with awful looseness of the bowels that survived an astounding 3 months! After you have experienced evaluations and tests from 3 various physicians, I am just persuaded which i contracted a parasite out of this meals. The problem lastly remaining my program right after I had taken some (past due) time away from my work and consumed plenty of energetic yogurt and had taken a probiotic health supplement. I come here pretty often for breakfast and always have a great experience. There is usually a wait, but the tables always turn very quickly. The food is always delicious and worth the wait! The portions are huge, so my girlfriend and I sometimes share one egg dish and one of their huge blueberry pancakes. The service is great, and the owners and all the servers are very nice and personable. The only downside is if you end up with a seat next to the door in the winter, it can get cold with the doors opening and closing and crowded with the people standing around waiting for a table. My favorite place hands down. The nicest people you'll ever meet and the best, most consistent breakfast EVER. It's ruined me for cooking my own breakfast because I can't make eggs as perfect as they do! The fluffiest and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs ever. Everything here is great- from eggs, to pancakes to french toast. So good!! This diner isn't your typical diner either, it's so clean and nice and welcoming! I have never ever ever had a bad meal here. Everything is high quality and consistent here. You won't regret trying breakfast here! Hands down, the best breakfast diner you could go to! Staff is hard-working and very friendly! Food is top notch and extremely well priced for the portions you get! The people who complain about this place are insane. It is well worth the wait, even if it is an hour or longer at times. Much like going to your own family's house, you cant demand food right away and expect to be in and out in minutes! This is a family kitchen, not McDonald's! My family were visiting relatives in the area and was looking for a place to have breakfast. It is small and family owned and operated by a couple, their daughters and some friends. The staff was very friendly and seated us promptly. They have a nice selection of specialty items on the board that's not listed on the menu so be sure to check it out first before making your decision. The food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone in our party loved our breakfast. We will definitely be back in the future!!! read more

This place is absolutely amazing!!! A must-go if you live in the area or are visiting from out of town. The portion sizes are massive and incredibly delicious. I go here at least once a week. The staff creates a very fun and upbeat atmosphere that you don't get at other diners! Cannot say enough about their omelettes and sweet potato hash, the best breakfast food I've ever tasted. Over priced. Young girls serve you half naked. Disgusting. No class what so ever. No self respect put some clothes on girls. We are embarrassed for you. This is a yuppie joint. Completely and utterly a yuppie business structure. Yuppies pay yuppie prices and that's where you get trapped with this place.Do not waste your time or money. J@M is for yuppies and there puppies. Food is always fast, fresh, and delicious! Staff is friendly and professional. We have become weekly regulars at J&M Diner and the most difficult decision is to stick with our regular orders (Ooey-Goey and Eggs Benny) or try a special. We often ask for substitutions and have had no issues; really able to custom-order exactly the breakfast we want. Our only complaint is that it's so popular at peak times that signing up online is the only way to avoid a 30-45 minute wait! read more

I can tell you that the food is absolutely DELICIOUS, I just recently tried it for the first time and I was not disappointed. They have the best Eggs Benedict and hash browns I have ever tasted. However, aside from the food, the customer service is impeccable!! They are truly sincere, patient and nice which is extremely hard to find these days anyway, but especially during a pandemic. This place is sooooo good. everyone that's saying it was just ok must have weird tastebuds lol. The portions are huge, and the prices aren't bad. Love the family atmosphere. The place is a little small, but that's what you expect from a mom and pop place. I wish they accepted credit cards because I'm not used to carrying cash, but at least they have an ATM.
