[[HIGHLIGHT]]100 stars for this gem of a diner. Cute, clean, upbeat with a fabulous menu & exceptionally friendly service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd drive 30 min out of the way to return. Tip...when you see the option to join the waitlist on YELP, is says that the current wait is 5 minutes. So we did not join the list until it was time to walk out the door, since it was 4 minutes away. When I did continue to join the list, it now said that the wait would be 39-45 minutes !! What the heck ? I would have joined the list 30 minutes ago. So this seems to be a glitch, You should proceed to join so that you can see the true time frame. I tried to explain this to the man at the register, but..whatever. In the end, we were only 2 people and did not wait longer than 4 minutes on a Sunday at 8:30 am Lee loved the sweet potato hash, it is just not my thing, but I absolutely am still thinking about my sausage, egg & cheese sando on gorgeous cinnamon raisin bread..perfection ! Everything was delicious, I am sure that every single item shines, as does the coffee. Highly, highly recommended!

I found this establishment by searching for a breakfast place on a Saturday. The day I found it, the wait was really long. I was able to get on the waitlist via Yelp which was great. I wasn't at the location. I ended up being #44. Because of the wait, we decided to go somewhere else. Now two days later, on a Monday, I happened to be driving in the area. I looked it up on Yelp and got on the waiting list. I was #14. When I arrived, I didn't see it. I drove around to the back and there is was. Amazed that on a school day Monday, there were ppl outside waiting. I parked and went inside to see if I could get a bar seat. The bar seating included in the wait however by wait was cut in half due to being by myself. Once you walk in, there's a check in counter to the left, the seating area is to the right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before being seated, I went to use the bathroom and it was gross. One stall was disgusting after someone decided not to flush leaving only one stall. I'm assuming because that toilet wasn't flushed, it caused the bathroom to smell awful[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. While using the bathroom I heard two people come in. One being an employee that had JM Diner shirt on it. She waited for the stall I was using. It was concerning that as an employee she didn't attempt to rectify the non-flushed toilet. I went back to the waiting area and shortly later, I sat at the bar. Each person, including the other customers I was siting next to was very pleasant. I'm in love with pancakes. I inquired about them and one guy described them being huge and he asked another employee to describe them and he gave the description of a little smaller than a manhole cover. We laughed and I then ordered - only one though. I also ordered a steak and cheese omelette with a side of tomatoes and orange juice. My goshhhhhhhhhh....their pancakes!!!! No wonder this place's wait is ridiculous. The pancakes were amazing. They were a tad bit sweet but the texture, size, fluffiness was delicious. The orange juice is freshly squeezed A lot if places don't do freshly squeezed. I will definitely come back here with the family!

The breakfast food here is so yummy. There are tons of options, mostly sweets and salty separated, not a lot of combo breakfast meals. The ex Benedict was so yummy in the home fries are a must try. Almost every time you go you will be waiting for a table. Service is great. The one comment I would have is that they do rush you a bit and come over very consistently to see if you need anything anything which can be annoying while trying to dine in. Overall great experience.

The food was delicious! We got them monte cristo and egg Benedict and it had so much flavor. This place is definitely worth the wait. Easy to get on the waitlist. We logged in from the Yelp app for the waitlist and it was an hour wait so we left and did some shopping at natick mall and came back and a table was ready for us. Parking is easy they have a lot in the back. Place does get packed tho but soo worth the wait

Breakfast was ok. The real maple syrup was a nice touch. 99 cent extra charge on the eggs? I wish they told me this before hand instead of being surprised on the check itself. Please be upfront with this. Not to mention egg prices are back Down. Will this automated change be canceled at one point or is it permanent?

This place is worth the wait! I recommend going on the waitlist through yelp before arriving, they might even seat you earlier as long as you reserve your spot. The people here are really nice (and they wear really cool pyjama pants :)) & the decor would entertain you. Monte cristo tasted pretty unique, just on the sweeter side. The corned beef hash Benny, on the other hand, is amazing! Daves corned beef hash was made just right, with the right amount of crispiness. Highly recommend! Would definitely come back!

Delicious experience, they have ice cream which they use in their delicious coffee floats or traditional ice cream floats, additionally they have mastered the salty and sweet archetype! The service is very friendly and attentive. Have never had a problem! Overall it's a very well deserved popular diner that definitely deserves a try

Hands down some of the best service we've ever had, great friendly staff and amazing food!! 10/10 recommend!! Definitely worth stopping!!

Pros: The food is incredible and the coffee is delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food arrived quickly. Cons: There can be a bit of a wait for a table depending on when you go. The food and drinks tend to be on the pricier side for this area. They forced us to pay a "large party" tip when it was two adults and four young children. We always tip well anyway, but it was a first for us to be automatically charged like that. read more

The food was delicious! The service was great! The atmosphere fun! However be aware, not sure why the egg crisis is over however but maybe J&M Diner didn't get the memo. They are still adding 40 cents extra to your tab for eggs per plate. One other issue, we always leave 20 percent cash tip for our service, they fail to tell you that they added another 20 percent on our credit card for a tip. Luckily we noticed it before leaving the parking lot. We did go back and they did fixed the error. Always have to check your bill before leaving any credit card purchases. read more

The food was AMAZING! I'm full just thinking about it. The staff were so kind and I love that they were in their pajama pants, it makes for a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I did feel a teensy bit rushed, but they were packed and had a mile long waitlist so it was understandable. All in all, it was a nice spot and I'll definitely be back. read more

J&M Diner is alright...nothing special, especially considering there can be a 1-2 hr wait to be seated. The atmosphere is fun and the staff are super friendly and helpful. We got the Sweet Potato and Bacon Omelette and the Corned Beef Hash Eggs Benedict. We thought the hollandaise sauce was super lemon-y and in my opinion, it was one of the more meh eggs benedict that I've had. On top of that, the menu is pretty pricey compared to other brunch spots. If there's no line/short wait, then maybe consider this place, but otherwise it's pretty meh read more

This is the place for breakfast. What a selection of omelets! I got the Homemade Sweet Potato Bacon Hash Omelet Prime Black Angus beef, smoked bacon, onions. craisins, sweet potatoes & American cheese. I look forward to eating my second half tomorrow! Popular local diner with delicious food. The staff are friendly and make sure you have everything you need. There is usually a wait to be seated but bar seating was open. It's a laid back diner and the staff wears pajamas which I love! The prices are a bit outrageous for being a diner but there are no complaints other than that. read more

We saw the great reviews and headed over to J & M when we were in the area. The place is decorated sweetly and the wait staff inviting ordered up a hot tea and a hot chocolate and they were at the table quickly. So far we were impressed. However, isn't dinner food all about the food. I asked for the veggie omelet as a scramble...nope we can't do that. OK then as an omelet...this is the first place that has ever said no, but if they have rules so be it. When it came it was dry and the vegies didn't seem fresh. My gal ordered the Veggie Benny, same with the veggies not cooked well and taste a bot old...the eggs where cooked perfectly but the home fries tasted of old oil. We both ate them and suspect that is where the bubble gut came from. We only ate in one place and we both experienced it. So it may have been an off day for the cook and as I said we loved the people and the place, but the food was a miss and bubble gut gets you at the best 2 stars. read more

Service 5+. Guy behind counter kept eye on everything happening: a well/oiled machine. First time there, walked over from local hotel. Food fine I mean it's diner food you're not coming here to get blown away. Sat at bar as I was solo. Service super attentive and friendly. Menu is a bit limited and more old school breakfast style. When I requested only egg whites on my breakfast sandwich it seemed to be a very unique request. Instead of getting into it deep and feeling even more of a nerd I finally said just give it to me as it comes (only wanted to avoid yolks due to high cholesterol) - a couple yolks won't kill me (not today at least). I'd go back if back in the area. read more

This place is worth the wait! The waitlist actually moved quicker than expected and we were seated quickly after getting the 'table ready' text. I love J & M, they always hit the spot. The food is phenomenal and the people who work there have amazing customer service. It is always busy especially on the weekends. Their recent specials board had S'mores Nutella French Toast, it seemed interesting so I decided to get some and OH MY GOSH!!! The best french toast i have ever had in my life! Highly rated and my favorite meal, breakfast, I had to try it!! There was so crazy flavor cinnamon pancakes/french toast which was good and different. Otherwise everything else was pretty basic. I did like have the chicken sausage Patties option for the non red meat eaters. I wouldn't not go back but it wouldn't be on the top of my return list. read more

Oh my goodness-this place was fabulous! The super-friendly staff is the icing on this mom & pop shop. Everyone is perky & quirky & delightful. The food was great, too! I started with the Hot Cocoa Supreme - first, this is not the typical "powdered stuff from a packet plus water" - it is real creamy & delicious!!!! Then add all the surprises on top - I felt like a kid who got all "As" on my report card. Then I had Waffles with strawberries - FRESH strawberries. Not the stuff that comes out of a can or frozen. My husband had the Corned beef omelet. His initial response: "Holy moly!" It was good. We love a good corned beef hash, so we ordered the side dish. I'm not from the East, so the price seemed very high for a side dish, I wondered if the serving would be bigger than normal - the answer is Yes - the portion is a shareable size. I was looking for a nice diner style breakfast and found J &M Diner on Yelp. 1200+ reviews, it's seems the people of MA love this spot. I'm in! Pulling up from the street, it's challenging. The restaurant is in the back, there are no signs from the road so keep that in mind. I walk in and see a few spots at the counter. I'm having breakfast with me-myself-and I so the counter works. The restaurant is styled like a diner, lots of cute pictures in the walls makes this spot very cozy. I'm sure the menu items are insane, I zero in on the freshly made Corned Beef Hash. A cheerful waitress pours me some coffee as I place my order for CBH with eggs. For my bread choice, I chose an English Muffin (put a pin in that) The CBH is all that. Freshly made Corned Beef that's been cooked and chopped into deliciousness. Just spot on man. J? Or was it M? Whoever made this dish, kudos to the chef. Now the kicker comes in. I was expecting a regular, out of the bag English Muffin. This is extra ordinary, an artisanal EM if you will. I ask my waitress and she said the EM are from a local bakery. Wow! Great VERY family oriented diner! (Without diner prices tbh) I chose to go to J&M because it's so popular in the area and I think I picked well! There's a waitlist (it seems like) always so it's good to get on it. It doesn't take forever but there's always more people trying to come in. I got the orange juice creamsicle float and the waffle combo and my gf got an omelette. Everything came pretty quickly and was quite yummy. The float was $10, omelette was $17, and waffle combo was $13 (because I got strawberries which I didn't realize would add $6) We got pretty basic food so I don't have a crazy review but it was good and reliable. Only disappointment was how expensive but that's kinda how everything is nowadays! read more

I first went here back in the early 2010's with my dad at their old location, and have been here many times since the new location opened in late 2017. This place has some extremely good, even indulgent food. For a long time Omelettes were my go to items when I'd come here. Notably, the chicken and pesto omelette was a favorite of mine and I'd get it with a side of Kielbasa. I've since tried other items on the menu like the Reese's Peanutbutter Cup pancakes with bacon - these are extra rich, flavorful.... Also these pancakes are no joke - almost the size of tire hubcaps. Last week while back at home, my brother and I went for a late breakfast. I decided to try their House Corned Beef Hash Benedict and my brother got a corned beef hash omelette. We also got a side of Kielbasa The Benedict was *s u p e r b*. I previously wasn't super keen on Eggs Benedict due to a bad experience in Toronto a few years ago but this dish set that misconception straight. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly made, and the corned beef hash was extra meaty and perfectly cooked/ seasoned. I'll be getting this again for sure the next time I'm in town. There's a lot of love and care put in by the family that started this place and it's evident by the great staff, the ambiance and decor of the restaurant itself which is full of references to the family, and the great food. I have nothing but high praises for J&M diner and its up there as one of my favorite breakfast spots of all time. It's been at least 10 years since we last ate at J&M's. It was great to been there again. The new location is amazing comfortable and staff friendly as always. They updated us on the family, much of which we knew from following them of their social media pages. The Sweet Potato Hash was as amazing as I remembered. Using our 35 plus years in the food service industry to bring you fresh cooked to order breakfasts, large portions, quickly and hot. With a strong emphasis on service while still getting to know your name. All of the for mentioned is our recipe for great value. Over all our number one specialty is our motto "The Way Things Used To Be".

History

Established in 1998.

The J stands for Juliana our oldest daughter and the M stands for Mihlan our middle daughter whose name is pronounced like the city in northern Italy. Our youngest daughter, Simone was born in 2001 and missed out so our counter is dedicated to her. Originally a donut shop with no soda fountain, ice machine and very little equipment we had our work cut out for us. We built a new kitchen in the back with a large pass through window so we could see what was going on in our fifty seat dining room. Counter seating, tables with chairs and booth seating, we knew it would give the diner a manageable mix. Since we opened in 1998 we have won many awards both locally and regionally. On March 11th 2017 we tragically lost our family business of 20 years to a fire that spread from the other end of the plaza, sadly destroying all of the other businesses as well. Later that year on November 27th we reopened in a new location directly on route 9 in Framingham with double the seating!

Meet the Business Owner: Dave F.

Originally from Wayland Dave's restaurant career started at The Villa and The Wayland House in the earlier seventies. A member of the first graduation class of Minuteman Tech School as a culinary arts major and holding a degree in International Hotel & Restaurant Management from Florida International University. The self-proclaimed "chef by trade" has an extensive background in the restaurant business. He has worked for both the Bay Tower Room and Ritz Carlton of Boston. He also ran a private resort in the Bahamas for twelve years, was a pastry chef for JO's of Palm Beach and owned a bakery in Florida. Owned the Rotary Landmark Restaurant in Westborough before coming to Framingham in 1998. Dave has loved diners since he was a kid traveling with his dad a truck driver.

But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

I have been a huge fan of J&M sense the moment I first stepped through their doors about a year or so ago. The first thing I noticed was the very chill down to earth atmosphere. I was quickly greeted by one of the prettiest girls I think I have ever met in my entire life and she told the group I was with that their would be a brief wait. None of us seemed to mind because it was a weekend and we understood it was peak breakfast hours. Quite frankly, if their wasn't a wait during peak breakfast hours on a weekend I would think maybe this place isn't so good, but it seemed very busy and I had heard a lot of good things from my pears about J&M so my expectations were high. The weight wasn't too bad and they had a big menu you could browse while you waited so we all knew what we wanted when we were seated. I got the Jack Daniels Pulled Pork Omelette. The weight may have been a minute but once we put our orders in I don't think our food possibly could have came out any faster. I got my omelette and it was one of the greatest things I have ever consumed in my life. Like for real, who thought to put pulled pork inside of an omelette like that?! People who take serious pride in what they do thought of that creation and I applaud them for it. Sense that day I have been back about once a month when my schedule lets me do so (I would go every day if I had the opportunity). I have tried many things off their menu and everything that comes out of that kitchen comes out quick and is to die for. Someone knows what their doing back there! Sense then, they have gone to a full breakfast establishment which I personally am all for! The breakfast food that you get from this place is absolutely out of this world. Sure, if you show up during peak breakfast hours on a Saturday or a Sunday you may have to wait a few minutes to be seated. There is a reason for that. This is THE best breakfast joint around run by one of the most kind hearted family Ive gotten the pleasure of meeting and anyone from the area knows it. This place has everything a diner breakfast lover could ask for, big portions, a kick ass pandora station that plays reggae music and the oldies, a wonderful atmosphere and an on point beautiful, hardworking, staff that ranges from a young looking mother waitressing and keeping control of out front to a 13 year old daughter cooking in the kitchen. This is one cool place. And don't get me started about the food... There's a reason why they're featured on cronicle, phantom gourmet and that there's always a line out the door! ITS BEACUSE THEIR FOOD IS AMAZING. It comes out quick, delicious and in big potions. Their eggs Benedict is to die for, and that Nutella stuffed wicked sinful (cinnamon Danish French toast) is just ridiculous. The only bad part about this place are just the customers. People give this awesome diner one, to three star ratings because of how long the wait is, or how noisy it is, etc. it's all the customers fault. If you don't like it then why do you still come in. And I'm sorry that this server couldn't get your side plate on time for your toast because you don't like it touching the rest of your food, Because this girl just got asked from a table of six people for all waters( and not just at once cuz each time she got back, each person would request a water) these girls do a lot! So give them a break and stop being so greedy! ALSO: The Host does not have the magical power to tell you the Exact wait time. Instead of getting mad at the host get mad at the CUSTOMERS for taking their sweet ass time at their table even though there been done eating for a while. Yeah there's a wait, so stay outside get off your phones because "yes, they have no wifi, please talk to one another"( says one of their many humorous signs) and enjoy your friends and family because this is a well run, delicious, family diner. I have bee going to J&M for quite a long time. Never have been disappointed with the food. But to me the most important part of the business, besides great food, is the way they treat the customer. The owners and their help are excellent people and l consider them more than "people" I consider them family. May God bless the whole group and I know that the business is going to keep the customers happy. Today is March 11, 2021 I am always thinking of my family and my family at J&M Dinner. I have a good reason for that. The food is great, the owners are great, the workers are great. I am not the only one that thinks that way. I know many people that feel that way, including my twelve year old granddaughter that I take on Wednesdays before she goes to school. I am running out of words now. I was thinking the other day how to write a mew review and suddenly the theme song from "CHEERS" came into my head. Without plagiarism them, I am writing down a bit, because I find it logical at least to me: "Sometimes you want to g Where everybody knows your name, And they're always glad you came. I really wish yelp have a separate rating system for restaurant reviews, because it needs a rating for service and overall atmosphere and a rating for food. If so I would give the service 3 stars, the food 1. This place is nothing special, typical greasy spoon diner, and very greasy at that. The menu is a cluttered mess. The specials look as if it was thought up by a first grader. The best home fries? Don't think burnt and weird seasoning qualifies for anything near "best" The bacon was chewy and plasticky. The toast were not toasted but rather just warm and soft with patches of crisp. Obviously they need a new toaster or the toastmaster needs to do a better job of not rushing it. The presentations you see in the pictures posted is all gimmick. The end results are not like that. If you really pay attention, they all look the same. strawberry, banana, blueberry and whip cream. I'm sure the kids love the look of it but won't be able to finish it. The point of a good restaurant is you don't want the customers taking doggy bags home. It's not because it's goo and they can't finish it, it's more because they don't want to be wasteful. read more

I love J&M Diner. This place is amazing, the food is really good and I've never had a problem with the staff. This is a very popular place, the best thing to do is reserve your spot ahead of time, especially if you have a few friends or family members. If you're like me, a solo patron, you usually don't have to wait too long for a seat because they will recommend sitting at the counter. I love the Eggs Benedict here, this place knows how to do Eggs Benedict right. I had gone to a restaurant at the Natick Mall that served Breakfast and Brunch and had Eggs Benedict. I order it and was surprised with how bad it was. So if you love Eggs Benedict, do go to J&M Diner, they have the best Eggs Benedict around. Granted the food is quite pricey, but definitely worth it. I would give a full five stars but when I ordered a side of Corn Beef Hash, it was ten dollars all on it's own. It was delicious, and one of the best Corn Beef Hash I've had but for ten dollars, I'll only order it on special occasions. Oh and be warned, if you get a glass of Orange Juice and wish to get a second glass, you will be charged for a refill. read more

There are some really great places around the area but J&M clearly separates itself from the pack. The food is amazing with great classic breakfast items and also some great specialty items. If you have not tried the homemade sweet potato hash or wicked sinful french toast you are missing out! What makes J&M the best though is their service. I bring my young daughter there and they make us feel like we are the only people in the restaurant even though it is always packed. Everything is fast and at this family diner they truly make you feel like part of their family. The parents should be extremely proud, not just of their business, but the kids they have raised. The family atmosphere makes every meal a special one. Really a great experience all around and my daughter never wants to go anywhere else. read more

This place is the go to place for breakfast. the staff is always friendly and upbeat and you get your food in record time. Since i have a 1 year old this is crucial . the food is not pre prepped or microwaved and is as fresh as home made. my favorite is the Eggs Benedict. My husband and i try to talk them into doing during the week since its only done on weekends just so we can have it more often. the sauce is the best i have ever tasted and made from scratch and not a mix. Its made that day so it doesnt just sit there and get greasy. the slice of ham they put on it is no deli ham or canadian bacon it is a HUGE piece of ham steak. AMAZING!!! the best part is that they have the "baby benny" which is a half serving so i you can eat it and not feel too guilty!! read more

I consumed a delayed supper at this particular J And M Diner, Inc on Feb . 12, 2012, at roughly 11: 30pm - a ham And cheeses omelette, hash browns and sausage patties. I awoke the following early morning with awful looseness of the bowels that survived an astounding 3 months! After you have experienced evaluations and tests from 3 various physicians, I am just persuaded which i contracted a parasite out of this meals. The problem lastly remaining my program right after I had taken some (past due) time away from my work and consumed plenty of energetic yogurt and had taken a probiotic health supplement. We have because been flawlessly great and 7 weeks have approved. read more

I come here pretty often for breakfast and always have a great experience. There is usually a wait, but the tables always turn very quickly. The food is always delicious and worth the wait! The portions are huge, so my girlfriend and I sometimes share one egg dish and one of their huge blueberry pancakes. The service is great, and the owners and all the servers are very nice and personable. The only downside is if you end up with a seat next to the door in the winter, it can get cold with the doors opening and closing and crowded with the people standing around waiting for a table. My favorite place hands down. The nicest people you'll ever meet and the best, most consistent breakfast EVER. It's ruined me for cooking my own breakfast because I can't make eggs as perfect as they do! The fluffiest and perfectly cooked scrambled eggs ever. Everything here is great- from eggs, to pancakes to french toast. So good!! This diner isn't your typical diner either, it's so clean and nice and welcoming! I have never ever ever had a bad meal here. Everything is high quality and consistent here. You won't regret trying breakfast here! Hands down, the best breakfast diner you could go to! Staff is hard-working and very friendly! Food is top notch and extremely well priced for the portions you get! The people who complain about this place are insane. It is well worth the wait, even if it is an hour or longer at times. Much like going to your own family's house, you cant demand food right away and expect to be in and out in minutes! This is a family kitchen, not McDonald's! My family were visiting relatives in the area and was looking for a place to have breakfast. It is small and family owned and operated by a couple, their daughters and some friends. The staff was very friendly and seated us promptly. They have a nice selection of specialty items on the board that's not listed on the menu so be sure to check it out first before making your decision. The food was delicious and the service was great. Everyone in our party loved our breakfast. We will definitely be back in the future!!! read more

This place is absolutely amazing!!! A must-go if you live in the area or are visiting from out of town. The portion sizes are massive and incredibly delicious. I go here at least once a week. The staff creates a very fun and upbeat atmosphere that you don't get at other diners! Cannot say enough about their omelettes and sweet potato hash, the best breakfast food I've ever tasted. Food is always fast, fresh, and delicious! Staff is friendly and professional. We have become weekly regulars at J&M Diner and the most difficult decision is to stick with our regular orders (Ooey-Goey and Eggs Benny) or try a special. We often ask for substitutions and have had no issues; really able to custom-order exactly the breakfast we want. Our only complaint is that it's so popular at peak times that signing up online is the only way to avoid a 30-45 minute wait! read more

I can tell you that the food is absolutely DELICIOUS, I just recently tried it for the first time and I was not disappointed. They have the best Eggs Benedict and hash browns I have ever tasted. However, aside from the food, the customer service is impeccable!! They are truly sincere, patient and nice which is extremely hard to find these days anyway, but especially during a pandemic. This place is sooooo good. everyone that's saying it was just ok must have weird tastebuds lol. The portions are huge, and the prices aren't bad. Love the family atmosphere. The place is a little small, but that's what you expect from a mom and pop place. I wish they accepted credit cards because I'm not used to carrying cash, but at least they have an ATM.
