Had lunch and drinks here on a Thursday afternoon. Burgers were great, along with delicious cocktails. I tried their whiskey sour and a whiskey mule--both were spirit forward and great tasting. Dined December 2025. Had not been here for a while and heard they had updated their menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place still has a great distillery vibe with great woodwork and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a huge bar![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] SERVICE: Tonight was good. We were a little worried as we only saw one server handling the entire dining room and it did take a little while to place our order, but she did a nice job and handled the room well. Also we were not in a hurry so appreciated the time to relax. FOOD: New menu is good. I like the new variety of options. I tried their BLT and the wife and daughter had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. My BLT was BOMB. The grilled cheese has been upgraded with a thicker better bread, but the cheese seems to still be an American cheese (which is great if that's how you like it) my wife prefers cheddar. Still tasted great. They had a lot of great weekday specials and their happy hour looks good too. We will need to come back to try some more food :)

Been coming here for a while, Honestly love this place. Family friendly and pet friendly. Clean environment. Encountered some good and bad severs. Some have a little attitude and are very rude. My favorite is the giant pretzel when it's fresh. So on their happy hour 9 at 9pm menu, they have food items on the side which looks like it's happy hour items but it's not included it's only drinks and which sucks. Need to change it. False advertising. Drinks are pretty good. Love the smoked blueberry margarita!

Food was excellent. We also loved the vibe. Lots of patriotic flags and open air for dining. Our waitress was very attentive. The pretzel was awesome as an appetizer and we loved the turkey club. I mentioned we were going to share it and they actually put our meal on two plates and separated the sides without me asking - we were really impressed with that. Drinks are good and they have *the good ranch dressing.* they have outdoor and indoor seating and good music playing (not awful loud either so you don't need to scream to talk to one another.) we will be back to try more!

Ooh! Found a Whiskey Sour that ranks among my top 3! And, found the biggest pretzel I've ever had and the fact it came with sausage made it a no brainer. The sausage wasn't just a side. It almost shamed the pretzel. But the pretzel and dipping sauces held their own too. My wife, Gwen, had a jackfruit Greek salad with chicken and she looooved it. She also had a penicillin and really liked that too. Services and atmosphere were both great! Restrooms were clean which is a good sign! Server was friendly and checked in periodically at the right times but we never felt rushed. Overall, a 5! We'll be back and we look forward to trying out some other offerings! If you're a whiskey fan, this is a distillery so there's a bit to explore on that end!

FUN FACTS ABOUT J RILEY DISTILLERY: 1. It's POPPING! If you want to bring your friends to a space with ample outdoor or indoor seating, games on, quick service and a multitude of drink and food options, then this is the place. 2. Drinks are SOLID! I had a Whiskey Sour that was perfectly balanced. 3. The BURGER had me going OMMMMG. It had this BBQ sauce that rocked my world. 4. The CHICKEN SANDWICH was a BEAST. Crispy, juicy and just enough heat. 5. You will have a GOOOOOOD time here.

Went for a friends bday party on a Thursday night and it pretty busy! With that being said, service was great and the vibes were high! The owner Jason even came by our table and introduced himself.. he was a pretty rad dude!! The food was BOMB, I had the patriot burger which is new on the menu and If you like sautéed onions, this burger is for you! We got a couple pretzels and loaded fries for appetizers and they SMACKED! Craft breweries are seemingly over populating SoCal, but how many whiskey distilleries can you name tucked away in various nooks and crannies? Maybe J. Riley will change this conundrum? I first heard about the place from a friend who bartends at the Salted Pig in Riverside. He was working on a special menu for a one-time gig as a guest bartender. Anyhow, when I looked at the location via Google Maps, I knew exactly where to find the establishment. In the interest of keeping a good thing from wearing out, I'll leave the dirty work for perspective whiskey lovers. They make about four varieties: three are whiskey and one is a barrel aged bourbon. Out the door prices range from $27-40, which is outstanding considering what Bev Mo charges. I found the discrete entrance in a recessed business park off Nevada and Redlands Blvd. Parking is ample, and I presented my pass and was admitted. First of all, it's not a big place, but large enough to accommodate some forty or so people, plus there's an outdoor section roped off to smoke cigars and also where the street taco vendor serves up delicious food for $5: two tacos (chicken or carne asada), or a quesadilla. The bar is small but there are some tables and perimeter seating on really nice industrial stools. I was surprised to see a cigar vendor. The guy was nice and explained his selection (see pics), and although I did not partake, the smell was actually pleasant, which is the hallmark of better quality cigars. Drinks were $7 or $10 on the house menu, but the nightly special drinks courtesy of my buddy were $8 (see menu in pic). Strong but well balanced, we joked they are 'all killer, no filler'. All-in-all, I'd enjoyed the visit, food, and laid back atmosphere. The owner was really nice too. Soon, very soon.... and I'll buy a bottle next time. The 1775 maybe? read more

Nice chill atmosphere. If you like craft drinks then this is the place to go. Was iffy at first but this place is it. Try the Penicillin cocktail if you like whiskey or one of their old fashions. A little pricey with the food but it is way worth it. They have the best tomato bisque I've ever had and our waiter AARON was absolutely amazing. He was very attentive and made us feel at home. I think thats what mostly did it for us. Great service!! read more

This is a nice place to grab a drink in Redlands. The bar has many of the usual drinks you'll find anywhere, but the liquor is produced here. I've had the full drink menu, and enjoy every one, but the best part is trying the whiskies. Having had each of the whiskies here (as well as taking a bottle home on occasion), you'll know why the drinks here are as enjoyable as they are- it starts with quality liquor. The distillers here take pride in what they do, and it shows in their work. The atmosphere here is always nice. It's usually not too loud, even with people here (although I concede I've never been here on a Saturday night!). The staff is very friendly and wants to make sure you enjoy their products. read more

First time here! Been wanting to check out this place for awhile and finally made it. This distillery is located in the plaza with the yoga room and escape brewery, across the street from Walmart. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside has a very cool vibe with barrels, lots of tables to hang out, eat, play games, watch tv. There isn't much food besides some chips and snacks but you are welcome to bring your own so we picked up some pizza. Now to the highlight: the drinks! Since it was our first time the bartender was nice enough to give us a complimentary tasting. We tried the Califonia clear and 1775 whiskies, bourbon, and gin. Each had a unique flavor which was bold, smooth, and interesting! Settled on an old fashioned and negroni for our cocktails, both of which were well made and delicious! Beautiful restaurant/bar with very good food. I had the Lemon Drop cocktail, which was very good. The pretzel was very good, buttery, and crispy. Very German, and the mustard was nice and artisan tasting. The sausage was very fresh. The beer cheese was a little bitter, though. The cheese fries were very good and not too heavy. The Tunacado was out of this world! ORDER THAT! They had a nice selection of other drinks. I wish there was more parking instead of trying to park in the movie theater auxiliary lot across the street (although I grew up around here - I've never seen the theaters tow anyone). Restrooms were clean. I'm going back for that Tunacado. That was the best! read more

Cool environment, nice and clean and the staff is friendly and attentive but unfortunately that's where it ends at this restaurant. The food was pretty disgusting. I ordered the Nashville Spicy chicken sandwich and it literally had NO FLAVOR. It was just spicy that's it, no flavor at all. My sister ordered the same and said the exact same thing. And it seemed like it was undercooked. The fries were good but it's pretty hard to mess up fries. I was just so disappointed with the chicken I felt like I wasted my money. My friends and I went to J Riley Distillery for the first time. We live in Yucaipa so we love that it's super close by. We went straight to the bar and let me tell you our bar tender here Baba did NOT disappoint. He was very friendly and hooked it up with our drinks! The food was terrible. The atmosphere was fun but very loud. The special chicken sandwich was a grilled chicken breast that was probably frozen with some sauce on it. The hamburger was a frozen Patty. There was six of us and none of us were impressed with the food. I think the drinks were decent. Fairly pricey. read more

Best club sandwich I have EVER had. I keep wanting to try something new but I can't not get it when I'm there. The wedge salad is bonkers. I LOVE it. You can upgrade your fries to the wedge with your sandwich. 10/10 recommend. Also Steven makes the absolute best drinks in town. Definitely sit at the bar and ask for him. read more

Bubba was our bar tender and he was SO amazing! We were immediately greeted with such a kind and welcoming feeling. We used to go to J Riley's when they were the small business next to the CrossFit in Redlands and it's so nice to see such a great business thrive- especially after COVID took out so many out our beloved hometown business. 10/10 would absolutely come back just to have Bubba help us. Have been here a few times now since moving into town. Every time I sit at the bar, and everytime the bartenders are AWESOME! So funny, talkative, and attentive. Their appetizers such as pretzels and ceviche are good, not sure about their actual food as I have never eaten actual food there. The inside is very rustic and relaxed which I love! Usually come here for dinner with delicious burgers but decided to try brunch. Menu is limited from 10-2pm with a brunch menu only. Had a chilaquiles torta and a Bloody Mary. Chilaquiles torta was yummy 7/10 but Bloody Mary was not so good 1/10. Ordered a garden lemonade if I recall, pretty delicious drink 10/10. read more

I wrote a review about J Riley a while ago back when they were at their Nevada Street location, and we finally got around to visiting their Oriental Street location for appetizers and drinks. The atmosphere is lovely, with a nice breeze coming in from the big garage-style doors. Our bartender Bubba kept us laughing as he crafted our cocktails! We ordered the sidecar and the spicy Paloma and they were both delicious! For our appetizer, we ordered the pretzel and it was FANTASTIC! It came out from the kitchen fast and it had an amazingly crisp crust with a perfectly cooked doughy center. We can't wait to come back for dinner! Took them over 5 minutes to come over and take our order. The fries were good and I got the spicy chicken sandwich and the only spice to it was black pepper. Although the crinkle fries were super good and had good flavor. read more

Established in 2013.

Sixty miles east of Los Angeles and known as the "jewel of the Inland Empire," the quaint city of Redlands is home to the J. Riley Distillery. Opening their doors to the public now with a full food menu bar/restaurant. Come by and enjoy a great drink and a wonderful food.

I assumed that their focus was on whisky, and certainly not on food. But then, one day, I passed by in the evening, when Drift was actually open. I saw a lot of people inside, so I thought I would check it out. The moment I walked inside and smelled that wonderful smoky flavor, I had a feeling my assumption was very wrong. I checked out the menu, which had me at brisket, and I committed to eating there as soon as possible. As soon as possible was the next day. I tried the brisket, which was fantastic! It was moist and tender without being fatty. And, it had a great smoky flavor. I went back to Drift four times that week, including twice in one day. Everything I have tried has been great - the pulled pork, beef rib (absolutely amazing) and turkey. I haven't tried the chicken or pork ribs yet, but I plan to very soon. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the bbq baked beans are among, if not the best, I have ever eaten. Service at Drift has always been really friendly. The environment is casual and fun (at times a little too noisy for me, but I'm pretty old and have a little trouble hearing conversation in noisy environments). I'm so glad I looked past my initial perception of Drift and gave it a try. It has become one of my favorite restaurants in San Clemente.

We visited in a Saturday morning after the kid's swimming lesson. Maison La Jolie is a cute, corner bakery in the Redlands Public Market. After entering the glass doors, one is greeted with shelves filled with treats and pastries. My brother wanted to try the quiche, but they were sold out. He went with the almond croissant which is how he judges all French bakeries. The rest of us ordered the croque monsieur (Parisian ham, becamel sauce, melted gruyere swiss cheese on white bread), St. Tropez (prosciutto, brie cheese, mixed greens, onions, fig jam, olive oil, herbs de Provence, La Monaco (prosciutto, Swiss cheese, mixed greens, tomato, onion, herbs de Provence, and olive oil), French onion soup, tiramisu, mango pastry, and pear tart. My brother was greatly impressed with the almond croissant, honing in on the laminated dough and the frangipane--a rich, nutty, and smooth almond cream. This prompted him to talk with the owner and baker, and he shared that in baking, "you have to be a little bit crazy. I use French butter and extra ingredients!" All the pastries were expertly made and were indulgent. Both the hot and cold sandwiches highlighted the meats and cheeses striking a balance with the arugula greens. Even the kids enjoyed the greens. The French onion soup was the best we have ever tasted; a delightful bowl of rich onion beef broth, toasted baguette with melted gruyere cheese. Maison La Jolie is the mastermind of a husband-wife duo. They are a much welcome addition to Redlands.

My other co-workers ordered a hot honey cinnamon cappuccino with oatmilk, an iced golden hour from the spring menu, a cortado and a cinnamon roll. The golden hour was an iced mango lemonade topped with matcha and she loved it. The cortado tasted real authentic according to my other co-worker. The cinnamon roll shared amongst a few of us was to die for! We're definitely coming back.

J Riley has a lovely ambience and open atmosphere with vaulted ceilings and a friendly vibe, and the food was excellent. I sat at the bar and had their cobb salad, which was excellent! I am rating three stars as the bartender, "Bubba" was rude and disrespectful. Bubba made personal and condescending comments towards me when he served me my food, and was beyond inappropriate. The management should move this guy to a position where he doesn't interact with customers, or tell bubba that people don't come to a restaurant to be talked down to or treated like children, or listen to Bubba make inappropriate comments about his personal life. This review should be an early warning for management that they made a bad hiring decision. Other than that, J Riley is stellar and I will go back, hopefully with a different bartender next time. read more

We recently visited J Riley on a Saturday afternoon with some friends and had a great time. Located near downtown Redlands, it's in a shared parking lot with Escape Brewery. The atmosphere was really fun, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The drink menu had a great variety, including beers and both classic and fun cocktails. For food, we tried the J Riley burger, BBQ cheeseburger with bacon, and sweet potato fries. We also ordered the Date This Burger, which was a unique combo of sweet and savory with brie cheese and date compote. Even though we're not big whiskey drinkers, we enjoyed the Coffee Old Fashioned and California Smash. We also spotted a sign for monthly dueling pianos, which seems like it would be a great time! Nice little restaurant/distillery in Redland not far off the I-10. This sandwich was packed with meat, it tasted great and it was very filling. Salad was excelent as well. My wife got tacos and ate some before I thought to take a picture. We got a flight of whiskey and were asking questions about them. The waitress went over to the bar to speak with someone who came over to our table and answered all our questions, then invited us on an impromptu tour. It was J Riley himself! I took the beer back and confronted the beer tender because I couldn't believe they would substitute a completely different beer without saying anything. If you're out of a beer or trying to sell your Daily Bread beer, at least be upfront about it. I'm paying for the beer I ordered, and I expect to receive the same Mexican Lager--not a different beer substituted without my knowledge. That kind of lack of honesty makes for a really unpleasant experience. After years of coming here, this was incredibly disappointing. I expected much better.

There is so much to like about the brewery, and so much this place has to offer that I can only ask that you experience it yourself. To name a few highlights of the brewery... first of all it is one of the more chill places to go to. The ambiance of Ritual Brewery is casual, friendly, and welcoming. The staff here are all awesome! They have a nice size indoor and outdoor seating area for visitors. They are family and dog friendly. They have a new brew for everyone to discover and enjoy. My personal favorite is the Extra Red. I tried just about their whole menu over some time and at least half-a-dozen visits before deciding which one was my favorite. Moreover, if you walk in looking for a specific kind of beer, you might as well go pick that beer up at the store and stay out. This brewery is a place to experience and appreciate new beers. Many of their beers are IPAs, Ales, Pale Ales, and Blondes. Check out the picture of their menu to get a better idea of all that they have. Not to mention, they have very reasonable prices for their drinks compared to probably most breweries - so don't be a Sorry Sue and complain about how the prices for a beer is expensive and that only the soda is good - but you had the nerve to visit 10 times.
