There's a little bit of confusion about J. Sweets. The storefront is actually called Mochicream, J. Sweets is the umbrella corp which owns/ sells Mochicream and other dessert's carried here as far as I can tell. We ended up stopping in for macarons and were fairly disappointed. The macarons were decidedly not fresh and chewy instead of melt in your mouth. I purchased both the pistachio as well as the vanilla and frankly, they tasted almost exactly the same. The cherry on the disappointing sundae was the service, which was neither warm nor friendly and left me a bit taken aback. I doubt I'll return. read more

I love mochi! This shop is located in the Mitsuwa grocery shop and has its own little section. The area is cute and very clean and organized. The displays look delicious, it made me want to buy everything. Unfortunately, it is rather expensive. The ladies who were helping me were very nice and friendly. He said his favorite was the black sesame and his least favorite was the green tea because the powder was a little overpowering (but he DID say that it was still really good, just not as good as the rest). You will chip a tooth or teeth! After thawing the mochis, I went for the caramel macchiato. The caramel macchiato reminded me of a terrible tiramisu I had last year. I thought It would have tasted like the drink, boy was I wrong with that one! As for the apple pie, it was not bad at all. This was the better tasting one out of the two I had. Mochicream opened in Mitsuwa not too long ago and offers unique mochi desserts with cream, cookie, fruit and other fillings. I recently tried the raspberry, caramel macchiato and green tea. The raspberry and green tea were very good while the caramel one left my friend really thirsty. The mochi is quite expensive at about $2.10 each. After 2-3 bites, it's pretty much gone out of your hands. The worker who helped me was very nice and patient. He answered a lot of my questions and was very helpful indeed! I want to try the other flavors and get my Satura cakes fix. I just wish the mochi wasn't so expensive. If I were to buy a dozen...that would be $24 plus and I can definitely see myself eating a whole box by myself too! Mochicream (under J.Sweets) is such a hidden gem! It's tucked away in the corner of a Japanese grocery store and looks really unassuming until you see the huge case full of all different flavors of mochi and mochi donuts. SO many flavors! My friend, Kat C., told me that this was one of the best mochi ice cream places she's ever tried, so I was really looking forward to it. After staring at the display case for a while, we finally decided to order the strawberry shortcake, chocolate, caramel pudding, and double mango mochi. They gave us the frozen mochi in a pretty box and told us to wait 15-20 minutes for it to defrost before eating. They also told us you can keep it in the fridge for about 24 hours after defrosting. The filling inside is not exactly ice cream, it's more of a light whip, and the employees all refer to it as their special mochicream. The strawberry and the double mango were both really good! However, the chocolate didn't look like how I expected it to. In the display case, it was dipped in cocoa powder, but the one we received was not. I tried the sakura mochi and the caramel pudding mochi today. They were both really sweet and I imagine they'd be delicious paired with tea. There are so many flavors to choose from, it's a mochi-ice cream lovers dream. They are pretty pricey though (ranging from $1.8-2.50 each mochi ball) but they make a great gift. Each mochi ball is individually wrapped in a plastic wrap. You order by checking off a checklist. My mom was gifted 2 boxes of mochi for her birthday and I was able to try a plethora of other flavors including: peach, raspberry mille feuille (my personal favorite because the inside is crunchy!), green tea (the matcha powder outside makes it a bit bitter-but this was mom's favorite), chocolate (not too sweet!), red sweet potato (not the biggest fan of sweet potato desserts but I thought this was good still), mango, strawberry shortcake, and a handful of other flavors I cannot remember. I was told that they last 2 days in the fridge but I ate them on the third day and they were still super pillowy soft! J. Sweets is a counter inside of Mitsuwa. They have cream mochi, ice cream mochi, and mochido (mochi donuts). The prices of the cream mochi range from $1.80 to $2.30, and the mochido are all $2.30. The girl working there was super nice and patiently explained the different products while also recommending some favorites. I got 6 flavors of cream mochi: green tea, double mango, apple pie, caramel pudding, adzuki bean, and blueberry yogurt. I also got one green tea mochido. The green tea mochi filling was a combination of cream, matcha spread, and a few adzuki beans - sweet and heavenly. The outer matcha powder coating was a bit too bitter for my taste. The double mango was fluffy and soft. It didn't have as much mango flavor as I hoped, but it was still really good. The apple pie had a blot of cinnamon apple in the center, with custard-like cream and pie pieces surrounding it. It was super unique and delicious! The caramel pudding was my absolute favorite. The filling reminded of a creme brûlée. The mochi and pudding together were one perfect bite of bliss, chewy yet creamy, with a melt-in-your-mouth quality. I didn't get a chance to try the adzuki bean or blueberry yogurt, but my family approved. This lil japanese mochi/dessert store is located inside the Mitsuwa mall. I havent tried any other mochi place cept this one so i could be a total mochi noob, but so far ive liked wut ive tasted comin from this place. Ive tried almost every flavor of their mochi. They run for bout $1.9-2.5 a pop so it can be pretty darn pricey. They mostly have some kind of cream/flavored whipped cream filling so its best to eat them cold otherwise it jus gets too mushy and warm... Also, they say to eat the mochi within 24 hrs for freshest taste. Ive saved em for up to 4 days with mixed results... Favorite flavors: White Chocolate, Rum Raisin, Caramel Pudding, Raspberry Mille-feuille, Applie Pie, Honey Cranberry, Orange Cheese, Premium Melon, Peach yogurt, Blueberry Yogurt. Worst flavors: Not too much of a fan of the caramel machiato, chocolate mint, and the other darker colored mochi. Also strawberry cheesecake wasnt so great either. It was dry and the cake inside got kinda flaky. Ive tried the mochi donuts as well but they dont have nearly as many flavors and theyre pricey as well...Also i dont think they taste nearly as good as the reg mochi. A co-owner of mine, who lives in Pinole had been telling me about the Mochi Cream for some time, now. Imagine, how far is it from Pinole to San Jose? Roughly 60 miles. Now how many places will you dude 60 miles for?? It must be that good, right? Even if he frequents San Jose, that's still quite the trek! I'm less than 20 miles away and it's taken me months to finally check this place out. And since it took this long, I wasn't going to try just one. And so I picked up for, including the two best sellers - mango and green tea. The other two i tried were black sesame and red bean. The mochi dough was amazing and soft. Very fresh and not to chewy (remember, I'm not a fan of super chewy things). I can see why the mango is the #1 best seller, but I'd have to say that black sesame was my favorite. Even though I'm generally a black sesame fan, I didn't let that bias my opinion. I was hoping for mango to come out on top, but after having bites of all 4 (yes, I had to cut into all if them, and yes, I did share), black sesame was definitely the best! A new confection shipped from Japan to a kiosk inside Mitsuwa....chilled, filled mochis! The display case is filled with rows and rows of plump mochis in pretty pastel shades. They look like jewels. There were 24 varieties, from traditional (black sesame, red bean, green tea, sakura) to creative kinds (caramel pudding, caramel macchiato, apple pie, honey cranberry, rum raisin). The price ranges from $1.80 to $2.30 each. The display case also had mini plastic donuts and macarons on display, plastic models of the donuts and macarons that they plan to offer. I had to try the yoghurt/yogurt flavors. * Blueberry yoghurt ($1.90): sweet, smooth bean filling (probably white bean) that's flavored with a hint of blueberry with a center of a light slightly tangy whipped yogurt cream, the thin glutinous rice shell is tender and chewy, flavors are mild * Peach yoghurt ($1.90): Similar to the blueberry yoghurt only with a peach bean filling, the peach had a more perfume like flavor than the blueberry, pleasant and subtle. I liked the blueberry better. Small but plump, the mochi are individually wrapped in a plain sheet of clear plastic. They're meant to be eaten right away (the sign said to be consumed on the day of purchase but the guy behind the counter told me to eat them "now"). One of the highlights when visiting Mitsuwa marketplace is this Japanese sweet deli inside called Mochicream (now called J.Sweets). I've eaten my fair share of mochi, most with red bean filling or jelly, but never ones with cream filling. They were surprisingly good; the mochi were airy, cloud-like, and so chewy! Also, the cream filling was light and not too sweet. For those of us who are addicts, you know that you can't just eat one ;) Luckily, they have extensive choices and lots of flavors to choose from. I decided to go with 4 flavors: *Green tea: I have an abiding love for green tea, but I was disappointed as the green tea flavor in this mochi was lacking. *Double Mango: this was recommend by the lady worker and it was delicious! *Sakura: got this since cherry blossom is a popular flavor in Japan. It tasted okay, but it does have more of a floral taste, obviously, as compare to the others which taste more fruity. *White chocolate: there are CHUNKS...of WHITE. CHOCOLATE...inside the friggin' cream filling!! O.O so stupid good and it's my favorite flavor out of the box. Since they come frozen, they're best consumed after being thawed for 15-20 mins, but because of the moisture, the mochi become a little too soggy for me. Mochicream is a Japanese wagashi company originally from the city of Kobe, Japan (Ko-beh, not Ko-bee, but then again it should have been Ko-beh Bryant), with locations across Japan (including Osaka, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kyushu, Kumamoto prefecture etc ), multiple locations in Korea, as well as in Sogo Japanese department store in Hong Kong (but strangely not much mention on the blogosphere...maybe the foodiots over there are too busy stuffing themselves with pork bonelicious ramen or trying to find the next hip place to review before it shuts down for bragging rights). The mochicreams come in a large variety of colors and thus flavors, and are maybe a shade smaller than the size of those less spectacular tasting ice cream mochi's you get from Trader Joe's, your favorite A$N supermarket freezer, or the average "Japanese" restaurant that pimps them for dessert at a markup (when green tea ice cream is no longer a trendy dessert item). The only difference is that the exterior (the mochi itself) is a tad bit silkier and smoother (once it uhm...defrosts) and the inside is the highlight, depending on the ingredient/filling, and mostly filled with flavored cream. Ordering process is simple. Go to the counter, take a checksheet and mark down the quantities, like dim sum style ordering (at the places that don't do push carts). Cashier then goes into the back (re: refrig/freezer cold storage) and takes out what you want, puts in a box for you. Coincidentally it is the same cold storage back area shared by the section that sells wagashi by Minamoto Kitchoan. Now we don't really know the trade secret or what is inside, nor do some of us care to know what it will do to us in the long run, but from a value standpoint, it is quite an expensive import treat, at almost $2 a pop. That's what, 1.35 Golden Gate Bakery egg tarts? The green tea mochicream is quite decent, chockful of matcha powder and flavor, but would have preferred a little bit of azuki (red bean paste) inside. The beniimo (sweet potato) was ok. Chocolate was decent and while I didn't get to enjoy the double mango, it was well received by someone else. I can easily see Mochicream's appeal to young females who are into the cutesy stuff (or the older girls who just can't get enough of say, Hello Kitty), packaging, fun and rainbow like flavors (and their boyfrendz who haplessly fall in line), and getting caught up in the idea of "Japanese import traditional delicacy with a modern twist", but for me I cannot see myself regularly indulging in something like this. Way better than say..Beard Papa, but just not my style. Or maybe I should just say "I'm gettin' too old for dis chit". Could potentially be an ok Mother's Day Gift...or not (especially stories/jokes about a certain # of people croak each year in Japan for not chewing/swallowing mochi properly). We found a pretty unique eat at J.sweets after having some of the best ramen in the bay area at Santouka a couple aisles down. J.sweets, located inside Mitsuwa, imported a bunch of French style treats from a company called Boul'mich. I learned that Boul'mich was the pioneer of Japanese french pastry. Japanese/French just like the homie Manabu M. So! Basically, they had French macarons with a Japanese twist. Besides the usual vanilla and pistachio, there were new flavors like citron, salt, and yuzu. ($2.80 ea). J.Sweets is located just inside the Mitsuwa Marketplace entrance, and its mochi shop, Mochicream, is a subset of the store. After glancing briefly at the aisles and aisles of Japanese sweets and candies, I made a beeline for the mochi section. My husband and I are huge fans of desserts made with glutinous rice/chewy texture including mochi, rice balls, boba, mochi rice cake -- I could go on. After trying a small sampling of mochi brought by a generous friend, I've been eager to try J.Sweet's mochi in person. Mochicream's mochi is soft, light, and not too sweet. Each bite is like sinking your teeth into a pillow; there's no resistance, other than the fluffy cream filling that oozes out and complements the rice cake. Unlike, say, gelato- or ice cream-filled mochi, where the filling is a big part of the flavor, the cream filling is light and doesn't compete with the glutinous rice, giving the mochi a chance to shine and stand on its own merit. A large display showcases a wide array of flavors, and ordering is easy: you fill out a small form with your order and hand it to the cashier to fulfill. We tried the green tea, sakura (cherry blossom), and double mango. My husband and I liked the double mango best (it has an extra spoonful of mango jam mixed inside the cream filling, hence the "double" dose of mango). I also enjoyed the sakura flavor a lot, which was fragrant and had a faint floral taste. The green tea flavor was good, but I wasn't a fan of the excessive matcha powder on the outside; it made the mochi a little dry and powdery tasting. When I got in line to purchase, the cashier explained that the mochi should be defrosted for 15 minutes before eating immediately or putting it into the fridge for up to 24 hours (you can eat it directly from the fridge). In other words, you have a day after purchasing to finish the mochi before the fridge starts to wreak havoc on its soft, gooey texture, so it's good to keep that in mind if you're gifting it to a friend or buying more than you can finish in a day. I only wish that it wasn't so expensive; most of the flavors cost around $2 a piece, although the prices vary depending on the flavor, from $1.80 to $2.10. They also have the option of purchasing six or 12 for a set price, which could end up saving you a little money if you buy all of the pricier flavors. As a side note, macarons have always been a "meh" dessert for me, and at the height of the macaron craze when shops were opening everywhere in LA, I always thought that they were overhyped for the price and counted myself lucky that I wasn't addicted to such an expensive cookie. After trying a few of the different flavors, I realize that these lil mochis are exactly like Pokemon- YOU GOTTA CATCH (EAT) EM ALL! Normally, I like to scarf down my food without giving so much as a single fart about its flavor. However, the size (not to mention price...$2 a pop!) of these tiny mochi doohickies forced me to nibble on em. This new, profound eating strategy allowed me to appreciate the finer things in the mochi, for instance: Green tea mochi- I enjoyed the contrast between the bitter green tea powder on the outside and the sweet filling inside. One could not do without the other, just like Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries- wait...bad example... White Chocolate- DELISH! Loved the white chocolate flavor and the little white chocolate pieces in the cream was a nice bonus! Double Mango- I already love mango, but the mochi-makers decided to DOUBLE the mango???!!! It had me at hello... I felt like a judge on Iron Chef as I elegantly nibbled on each mochi, appreciating every nook and cranny in the chewy treat. Mochi donuts have finally arrived! After having a "Coming Soon" sign for most of the year, the delicious looking mochi and cream filled donuts have arrived. We ordered a six pack to sample each variety and were very pleased. i hadn't been to mitsuwa market in years, and noticed this new addition upon entering. perhaps it had been here before, but they certainly didn't have mochi cream! i didn't even know what this was, but hubby insisted that we try it, so we looked at the massively long list of flavours that included azuki bean, hoji cha, chocolate mint, and peach yogurt. we went with the red bean sweet potato, hoji cha, and chocolate mint. the latter was actually specially priced for today only, $1 instead of the usual $1.80! the others were roughly $2 a piece. note that each flavour is priced differently, based on the ingredients, i suspect. when you place you order, each mochi cream is taken out of the freezer and placed in a box, and you have to wait about 10 minutes for each one to thaw before you can consume it. since it was a warm day, each one thawed pretty quickly, esp inside a hot car, so we were able to eat them a bit sooner. these little desserts really pack a flavour punch! each one was mochi (rice cake) on the outside, with a bit of red bean as the middle layer, and finally, creamy goodness in the center. the best way to describe this creamy goodness would be "mousse" since it had a smooth, creamy texture that was also light. definitely looking forward to my next visit as i will be sure to try more flavours! read more

Sweets is the entire corner of Mitsuwa that includes Mochi Cream, Mochido (mochi donuts), Minamoto Kitchoan, Yoku Moko, Kobe Fugetsudo, and Rokumeikan. It all seems like one bakery/store and they have various Japanese sweets. Mochi cream: A rainbow of assorted mochi filled with cream. There are 24 different flavors of mochi. On the counter there is sheets of 'paper with the flavors, you check off the flavors you want, hand it to a worker, and they'll box up your mochi for you. The problem with this is that a lot of the mochi looks the same and there isn't a way you'll be able to decipher between which is what. It ends up being a game of mochi roulette. Mochido: Also colorful and cute! Tastes the same as the mochi cream, just in the shape of a donut. They have 7 flavors: cafe au lait, strawberry shortcake, peach yogurt, double mango, raspberry, green tea, and chocolate banana. They have a preset box of 6 donuts, which include all the flavors except green tea. You cannot change these flavors or swap them out for others, which sucks. So even if you buy 6 donuts, they will not be in the cute box that's displayed, they'll just put them awkwardly in some box that doesn't fit the donuts well. Minamoto Kitchoan: Tsuya here is good! I don't even like cream filled anything, however, the mochi here is one thing that I love! I prefer to eat the mochi when it's semi frozen so the cream actually tastes more like ice cream to me. The mochi skin is soft and chewy and the cream filling (when semi frozen) is still soft and oh so delicious. My favorite flavors are the black sesame and the mango. The mango actually has real fruit in the center which makes it even better. Peach yogurt flavor is also good. Service is kind of slower here but the staff is really nice. They offered to give me ice bags to keep my mochi cool since I was going to be on the road for a while. If you can't eat them all or if you decide to buy extras for later :p, you can always freeze them for a few days. I went here two times. The first time was when it first opened and I got like 8 various mochi flavors. All I remember was that I tried to save some for my brother, but I only ended up saving two. O.o Average cost of mochi is 1.80- 2.30. They are about 2 inches in diameter. The 2nd time was yesterday. I really had to show my friend mochi cream. She got the sakura and she loved it was light and was reminded of tea. I got the raspberry meuille one. I devoured this quickly so I hardly remember what it had inside. It was so nice... This place is located inside the Japanese store, Mitsuwa (to the right after walking in). We came here for the first time on a Saturday afternoon and this was one of our first stops. I poured over the display case for quite sometime before realizing that I wouldn't only be able to chose just one or two. Also I'm not sure why but I thought these were plain mochis so it wasn't until we paid and the lady told me to eat them or store them after 20 minutes... I sadly looked at our box of 6, knowing that some of them would not make it to be eaten - two green tea, one double mango, one black sesame, and two azuki (red bean). We ate the two green tea ones while sitting in the car and they were pretty good. They were doused in matcha green tea powder was a little too bitter and there was so much that it was all over the place. About half an hour later, we had the double mango and black sesame ones. Both had started melting and mango one was just too creamy at that point. The black sesame though (which is one of my favorite flavors), wasn't bad and I could tell would've been even better if I had eaten it on time. Sadly we weren't able to eat the red bean ones before they melted. I'll definitely be back though to get more and eat them on time (or get to a place where I can store them). read more

I rarely try a place out that I haven't Yelped beforehand, but the display case, jam-packed with adorable soft squishy mochi, was enough to capture my spontaneous curiosity. Never having been here before, I defaulted to asking the guy behind the counter what the most popular mochi flavors were. Taking a couple of his suggestions I ended up with: 1) Blueberry Yogurt 2) Strawberry Shortcake 3) Double Mango After receiving the goods, I was a bit surprised that all the mochi come frozen. They were individually wrapped in clear cellophane and had no labels. I only picked up 3 though, so identifying each one wasn't an issue. We were instructed to wait about 30 minutes before consuming our treats (pure torture!), but they were still frozen at that point. I would recommend waiting at least 1 hour. Personally, I ate them 2 hours after purchasing, and they were perfect. I don't like my mochi cold! If you want to store your mochi, the box recommends storing them in the fridge. I thought the initial frozen state of the mochi would affect the quality of freshness and texture, but I couldn't tell they had ever been frozen. It's actually a great idea, because you can store them in your own freezer and thaw when desired. Another assumption I had about Mochicream was that the mochi were filled with ice cream, but they're really just filled with cream as the name suggests. All of the mochis we tried had whipped cream filling and a pocket of jam in the middle for that burst of flavor. They tasted exactly like what they were supposed to be and I enjoyed every single one. I kind of wish there was fruit inside, but they were all still pretty good. I love how there is a crazy variety of mochi available in fun, unique flavors. The experience reminded me of going to a French macaron shop - expensive, colorful, and indulgent. Each mochi is about $2.10 a piece, but it's a price I'm willing to pay. I've never been to a shop that sells just mochi. Going to Mochicream on a whim after having a hot steaming bowl of Santouka Ramen ended up being a great deicision! I'm used to having those ice cream mochis from a box that you get at Trader Joes, or boxes of mochi that you buy at Ichiban Kan and these were definitely way better. Also a great introduction to mochi if you've never had them or are scared off by more traditional mochi that are filled with sweet bean paste. TIP: All of the mochi in the front case are fake and just for display! Be sure to look for the additional signs with other flavors available (like strawberry shortcake, which wasn't in the case, but on a sign!). read more

I really don't want to admit how much I love these little round balls. But I do. They are so soft, so smooth and so very addicting. At about $2.00 each (price varies depending on the flavor), these cream filled mochi are crafted with utmost care. They are not your conventional ice cream mochi. These bold colorful balls of happiness are made with whipped cream, flavored bean paste and various ingredients. Every single one has the perfect form, shape and filling ratio. Indecisive first timers might have a tough time figuring out what to get. There are so many flavors to choose from. Do take your time as it is rather important to pick something to your liking. Some likes fruity ones such as double mango and rasberry mille-feuille. Those who perfer Asian style wagashi might find sakura interesting. My personal favorite? Rum raisin for sure. Ahh delicious mochicream. They're imported from Japan and a really special treat that can't be bought from anywhere else. There's a decent amount of selections and a typical trip to Mitsuwa will include me taking one of those $23 pre-selected boxes home. Protip: I've brought a box across the country before in a carry-on luggage. Freeze the box and when you're about to board the plane, wrap it in ziplock bags and other insulation. I think I died and went to heaven. First time here and my friends and I went crazy! I bought a ton of flavors for my friends and family to try -- best decision ever, I got to try a bit of each flavor without having the guilt of eating too many =P I don't care if I spent more than $20 on mochi, 5 star rating for flavor! (that's a lot coming from someone who isn't a huge sweets fan). My only wish now is that I didn't live so far away from here -- then again that's probably for the best (in regards to my waistline). Anyways, once you get into Mitsuwa Supermarket, mochi cream is located to the right after you enter the market. Grab a order list and start checking off flavors you want to try! (could be dangerous though, my eyes were bigger than my wallet.) Flavors we tried: -Green Tea: Pretty standard, may have been a little too bitter because of the matcha powder on the outside of the mochi, that was the first note that hit my taste buds before the sweet interior cream balanced it out. I recommend you try and shaking a bit of the powder off the mochi before eating it. -Black Sesame: great flavor, nice texture and such a great sesame taste! The filling was creamy and contrasted great with the whipped cream and fluffy mochi! -Double Mango: I can see why this is one of their more popular flavors! IT HAS A REAL MANGO TASTE. AND THE CREAM BALANCED OUT THE FILLING PERFECTLY! I wish I had more than 1/4th of one!! -Blueberry Yogurt: Also really nice fruity flavor, but not the most memorable? Still, great mochis overall. -Raspberry Mille-Feuille: Ugh, I wish I got to eat one all by myself. I think I liked this one more than the double mango, it has the most amazing filling: cream, raspberry jam(?) and some crunchy stuff, tasted like a perfectly balanced sweet cake! -Peach Yogurt: Don't really remember much about it, but again delicious fruity mochi! -Apple Pie: Has a slight hint of cinnamon, there was some crunchy brown sugar bits inside the filling, and overall a bit too sweet for me. Probably wouldn't get it again. -Darjeeling: MUST GET. Great flavor, great texture, and not too sweet! -Houji Tea: Approach with caution. Its like a more bitter green tea flavor, and a bit too much for my taste. I think its more of an acquired taste and could be a hit or miss for most people. -Strawberry Shortcake: Delicious!! Tasted like a strawberry shortcake! =P -Chocolate Mint: A bit too dark chocolatey for my taste, and not the best one for me. After sampling the many flavors above I'd say get the Double Mango, Raspberry Mille-Feuille, and Darjeeling. Overall, a must try. The flavors are great (mostly) and even though these babies come to you frozen, the texture still comes out perfectly after a couple hours in the fridge! Oh and did I mention? The branding and packaging had me drooling, I think that was the only reason I wanted to try this place in the first place. Mochicream is exactly what it's name says it is...mochi and cream. Imported directly from Japan you have to get there early or the popular flavors sell out...not sure when they replenish their shipment. Went there on a Saturday afternoon and about 60% of the flavors were sold out...real bummer as I thought they would've stocked up for the weekend. We opted for: Café au lait - by far the best out of the 4, rich in coffee flavor, chewy and creamy...yummy! Orange and cheese - the cheese part threw us off a little, but it tasted like a chewy orangicle. Soybean - azuki bean and cream inside, the filling was good but not a fan of the soybean dusting on the outside Hotchi tea - don't really taste the tea flavor of this... The girls at the counter explained that the mochi had to defrost for 20 mins and consumed within 24 hours. These things are perishable...priced from $1.80-$2.30 a mochi buy only what you can eat in 24 hours. Different from mochi ice cream, the mochi is chewier and the filling is soft and creamy, yet cool to the bite.
