For some reason -- I always didn't want to go to Jack in the Box. I don't enjoy eating fast food as my meals and when I absolutely have to, I already have first picks and second picks in the back of my head so despite living next to one for a full year, I never went here. The first time I went was back in 2015 for breakfast on a roadtrip to Charlotte and that was also my only time, until this visit. My friends were having some wholesome fun and birding around Westwood around 2:30-3am and we were gettin hungry. We saw that Jack in the Box was open 24 hours so we headed here only to find out that only the drive-thru is open 24 hours. There weren't other enticing restaurants open in that area so we checked to see if they would consider "birding" as a drive-thru option. Fortunately -- THEY DID. We were able to place our orders -- we got mini tacos, churros, large curly fries and cheesecake. We didn't want meals but more munchies and snacks. We birded back home and dug in as soon as we did. Ok - the mini tacos? Absolutely FIRE. It's $4 for like 12 bite sized tacos that are all folded up. It's really interesting. Plus the filling does not look that appetizing. It's like processed chili. But I don't know -- for some reason the tacos just late at night were sooooo good. They give you hot sauce and they also give you this avocado like sauce and those pair great too with the taco. You can also get them loaded and it comes with cheese sauce, veggies and salsa almost like a nacho.. with mini tacos. The churro was also really good -- pretty impressive for fast food churros. The inside had this cream filling too that made it even better. Highly recommend. The curly fries were also really good and the cheesecake was also really impressive for fast food dessert. It was an amazing time and this makes me realize that I need to give things a go before I completely block it out! We now had the best late night snack. I unfortunately live in Georgia so I don't have one in my state (which I find so weird because there's literally one every state but us in the Southeast) but I will definitely keep this in mind for the future and I hope they open one in GA soon! read more

I was the only one in the drive thru ordering 1 combo, 1 sandwich, and 1 eggroll, not complicated at all at 7pm (dinner time) traffic was bad getting back to koreatown and we were hungry! Found it strange that drive thru attendant took my payment and then ordered me to reverse my car back to the ordering station. They gave me no receipt and then a 5-7 mins later waved their hand out the window for me to pull up. The order looked correct with a quick glance. #1. Got home and: The burger was incorrect with NO BACON (its the #4 combo: BACON ULTIMATE CHEESEBURGER) i paid for the price of a Bacon Ult and got an Ultimate cb. #2.Swiss buttery cheeseburger had cardboard flakes in the sandwich! #3. I have to get this off my chest with a recent experience I had at the 10967 Santa Monica Blvd Jack in the Box Restaurant. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and a friend of mine would be there almost every day and I would meet up with him. He started going to another fast-food chain because he thought the deals were better elsewhere and the pricing cheaper. I go to this restaurant very frequently especially during late hours as I need to take a walk to get my exercise and I like to stop by and relax to get a snack and nothing more as eating late is not good for my health. I was approached by 2 employees who wanted to know why I was so cheap in my purchases. I found this conduct very unprofessional making me feel very uneasy and I know they resent me for not purchasing items in their overpriced menu. The reason Jack in the Box Inc is closing stores, in debt and having their main group of customers low income Hispanic not returning is because of their overpriced menu and the "offers" section is meager. Fast food workers have gotten their raise in wages in CA and the prices have gone up but what about the customers? Are they getting better customer service? Not happening here at this Jacks. I always go for their "offers" section. I also am a regular at another fast food chain and the store manager actually sat down with alot of the regulars to get their input ( noticing the decline in sales because of their over priced menu). I told that store manager I just want to be left alone and the importance of socialization. At Jack in the box I did nothing wrong and the employees bother me. Why? Why are these employees blaming everything on me for not purchasing their over priced menu? Maybe they should start blaming Trump and the ICE raids for scaring away Hispanic customers. Or convince these low income Hispanic customers to purchase from an overpriced menu. I would probably purchase more if the deals in their "offer" section were better but they got progressively worse. Their rewards section was revamped recently to make the points worth less. I was able to purchase a Sourdough burger a few weeks ago. But now I need alot more points. In summary I just want to be left alone, offered better deals as Jack's has very few good deals on their menu. Their $6 burger combo is an example of shrink inflation ( smaller burger same price as years ago) Their $3 free Jack burger if buy Large drink is their only good deal left over. read more

I stopped by the late night drive through to cure a sweet tooth craving. I haven't been to a Jack in the box for probably 2 years and lucky for me, this location is open 24 hours :) I'm a digital coupon guru and let the person working the drive through know that I had a coupon for an 'Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Shake'. He asked what size I would like and of course I said, "Large please". Upon pulling up to the widow I could see my shake sitting in the window ledge all done up with whip cream and a cherry on top (no lie!). The guy who took my order came to the window and gave my my total. I asked how it came to that amount, it should have been much less. I'm pretty surprised at the other reviews, this is one of the best Jack locations I've been to in either SD or LA! I have been coming late night every so often for a few years and, besides a few times where they were unexpectedly closed, they've not disappointed. Now, I don't really expect fast food workers to be joyful at 1AM on a Tuesday, but the employees are usually cordial and ALWAYS ask about sauce, which makes me happy as someone with drive thru anxiety. I've gotten mobile orders and they are always ready and correct, the food is always fresh and hot, and the line always goes really fast. The reliability is really nice, so it's definitely my preferred drive through nearby. There was also one time I went through with my partner while they were cash only, but we didn't realize they didn't accept $100s. The cashier made an exception and still let us get our food! After hundreds of requests from my fans, the poultry face-off you've all been waiting for is finally here. Popeyes brought America to its knees with its revolutionary crispy chicken sandwich, creating such a splash that the rest of the fast-food industry had to follow with waves of crispy copy-cat delicacies. But does the original still reign supreme, or has the competition usurped the throne? Read on to find out, and like this review if you want more head-to-head matchups! Let me start off with some ground rules. I consider myself an expert in most things related to the fast-food and fast-casual dining experience, and my arteries can act as proof that I have consumed thousands of fried chicken sandwiches in my lifetime. But even more than a fast-food aficionado, I consider myself a man of science and must therefore establish the gold standard for a crispy chicken sandwich. For the purposes of this review, that will be a proprietary composite metric averaging all the best qualities from Howlin' Ray's, Dave's Hot Chicken, and Main Chick Hot Chicken. I must also say that I received no compensation from Jack In The Box or Popeyes... I'm poor but at least I'm honest. With that out of the way, let's get into the meat. PRESENTATION: As someone who frequents these types of establishments, I expect about as much from presentation as I do from one of Adam Sandler's new straight to Netflix movies. However, as you can tell from the photos, both of these sandwiches looked atrocious. I cut each in half and took side-by-side photos of the cross-sections, and was displeased to see that my Popeyes sandwich was taken from the gluteus muscle of a hen that was clearly taking anabolic steroids...and she appeared have been slaughtered on leg day. The central thickness was far too great, and the edges tapered down to become paper-thin. Overall these dimensions befit a tent more than they did a sandwich. Unfortunately, the Jack In The Box sandwich had the opposite problem: it was entirely too thin and was so processed that it resembled a large, pancake-like McNugget. While not aesthetically pleasing, it was an impressive feat of physics that Jack was able to uniformly stack 6 chicken molecules perfectly atop one another to form a sheet of fowl (maybe a chicken lattice?). My impression at this point is a tie for last place. CONSISTENCY: You may be thinking: "Isn't consistency more of a term to describe a soup, or perhaps a slurry of cornstarch and water that one might enter into a science fair to exhibit the shear-thickening properties of a liquid-grain suspension?" In fact, you would be correct, which is why I thought it an apt word choice for the disappointing texture of both sandwiches. It was as if both buns had just been removed from a sauna, and both crispy chicken sandwiches had as much crunch as a gummy bear. TASTE: At this point in my meal I'm sure you can imagine my morale is quite low. I'm talking low like French military outside of the early 19th century kind of low. Or worse yet, Italian military at any point in history. However, a ray of light struck my tongue upon biting into the Popeyes sandwich. My taste buds were tickled by a mild spice from the creamy sauce, and the chicken was surprisingly tender. I can't say the same for the Jack In The Box sandwich, which was shockingly devoid of flavor and as dry as the desiccant packet that comes with my beef jerky. In this domain, Popeyes clearly wins. THE VERDICT: While both sandwiches were underwhelming, the Popeyes crispy chicken sandwich outperforms the Jack In the Box Spicy Chicken Sandwich on taste alone. read more

I get the jalepeno poppers, chicken nuggets and breakfast combo sandwich deal that comes with a cup of coffee and a hash brown. Good deals for anytime of the day but I like them for a quick affordable breakfast when I get to work in the mornjng. Budget friendly especially for Brentwood! And the wait is not long to get it because wits close. If you want any specific sauces for your nuggets you have to request it. You get what you pay for, so I do not expect a five-star meal out of this place. What I do expect, and usually receive, is a great chicken teriyaki bowl that Jack in the Box offers. Whenever I need a quick meal, and I'm in West LA, I come to this drive-thru and order their bowl. It comes with grilled chicken, broccoli, carrots, and white rice, topped with teriyaki sauce. Unlike the location in Hollywood (on Sunset Blvd), this place provides a good amount of chicken in their bowls. I sometimes ordered their iced teas, which is a good addition to my quick meal. Located to the right of the traditional ordering counter is where you'll find it; you honestly can't miss it! I saw some poster or something saying you would receive two free tacos if you ordered from the machine; I'm not sure if there was a minimum spend or what the details were - but hey - that's pretty neat! I haven't personally tried out the machine, but I am keen to! (I'm a picky eater, and I want to know if it can accommodate things like 'no mayo'.) As for the Jack-in-the-Box itself - it's all right. No complaints. Typical Jack-in-the-Box food. I like the tacos (not the shell, just the insides) and the spicy chicken sandwich w/ cheese. Those are the only things I've ever had there: stick to what you know! I wish they left the forks out; they keep them behind the counter.
