Don't place mobile orders here. I placed the mobile order a half hour before arriving and they didn't put the order through until I got there. So disappointed with our drive through order on Christmas Day. We were starving after our long hike to Cedar Falls Creek and glad that Jack in the Box was open. When I opened the box for 6 chicken tenders at home, the pieces were very small and one of the pieces was SO SMALL! We don't live in Ramona so it wasn't worth the time to go back. I cannot verify this as a fact, the crews that work at this location often seem to have a tactic to avoid servicing the customers. Sometimes the drive thru is blocked off, and other times they tell you they can only take cash. I come to this Jack in the Box when I'm in Romana and need fast Food. Never been disapointed. Ruth waited on me today. She was friendly yet professional. She filled my order quickly and even brought it out to me. I'm sticking on the fish sandwich combo for only four bucks.. It was great. The fries came well done as ordered. The drink dispenser was out of root beer and she fixed that and made a special trip to my table to let my friend know it was working again. The dispenser had many choices to choose from one favorite vis Cherry Coke.They offer a 10% veteran discount. (This varies from 0% to 20% depending on location) My friend had the bacon cheese burger. It was prepared to his specifications. His fried came well done as ordered and once the refilled the root beer in the soda dispenser he was a happy camper. This Jack in the Box is within easy walking distance to my work. That is why I usually patronize the place a couple times a month. I have been coming here for quite a while and while I don't usually write reviews about fast food restaurants (we all know what we're gonna get for the most part) I had to go ahead and do it this time because there is a persistent problem here is that it's becoming much much worse. For a long time there have been a greater than the average number of flies present in this restaurant just about any time you go. I usually sit somewhere in the middle to limit exposure. That is usually enough to minimalize the influence. Today I went and there were roughly 10 times as many flies as normal. I'm not going to pretend to know what the problem is although it couldn't hurt to replace the front door which does not seal for starters. This is a much older than average fast food building so there may also be other problems. At least 20 times during my visit I had to swat flies away from my food and another several times flies were just landing and sitting on me . I'd like to note that service was excellent during my visit and the employees here are always great. This issue is not something employees can handle it is a management issue and management has been derelict in their responsibilities in this case. This issue absolutely has to be fixed and I'm not coming back until it does. read more

Went one morning they told me they were out of chicken so I got a breakfast sandwich instead . When I arrived at work only the egg and one side of the bread was in the box the Remainung ingredients were tossed in in my bag with napkins ... gave them a shot a few days later I got a salad they told me no chicken again but they can add a chicken patty I said that's fine .. and they charged me for the patty and I got no patty or fork or ranch plus they took like 7-8 mins per car I've never gone back I just constantly hear the complaining from my coworkers experience at the Ramona Jack and the box read more

I really want to give this place a better rating but it's just not in the cards I guess. I have to give the employees an A for effort. They bust their butts. I think the problem is in management/scheduling. I've been in 3 times and it always takes FOREVER to get my food thus eliminating the "Fast" part of Fast Food. God bless the people behind the counter because they're making it work with what they're given but they need help. They're moving as fast as they can and are really good at what they do and they are to be commended. Also the bathrooms can be kind of gross but it you don't have the time to get food out in a timely manor then the restrooms will suffer I suppose. The food itself is always good and seems fresh. This place used to be amazingly fast and have accurate orders to the absolute. This is no longer the case. The last 2 times I have gone by the drive thru order times were far longer than they should be, even eclipsing 10 minutes. The time to get to the order window, with multiple cars in front of me, has been acceptable but the time between order submission and reception has been far longer. This last time I went I saw 1 person who's attire had different colors than the other employee's and I am guessing they were management. They were literally standing there, doing nothing, while looking at an order board or something. It seems maybe this shift has been having problems under their management since both of the problematic visits have been a bit after 6, or so, in the evening. My order this time was 2 orders of onion rings and it took right around 10 minutes to get them. The rings were very hot and absolutely fantastic with extremely crunchy breaded outer skins and they tasted incredible. I hope they can make future visits a bit more quick. If not then I see no reason to mess with them anymore. Glad you're out in this area guys. read more

Worst experience I have had with any fast food place AND the manager, Maggie, made it 100% worse. My partner placed a simple order of curly fries, loaded tacos, and coke zero. Even with my hesitation I agreed to pick it up while I was out. Let's just say I haven't had a great experience with this place. So I head in and tell Maggie what I needed. She proceeds to bag up my things. She asks someone about 3 orders of churros and bags it up with my things and hand it over. I said thank you and left. Get to my car, check the bags, call my partner to confirm the order. Make sure I'm not going insane. Sure enough it's wrong. Head back in. Door was locked. Why would you lock the door with customers inside. Fire hazard. Anyway, she asks what was wrong. Me: everything. Her: mistakes happen. Me: everytime?! Her: well stop coming here. You're absolutely right I immediately thought. I'm not even here for me. She finally goes to check the order to figure out what happened and is trying confirm she is right. She tells me it's right. Churros and 2 tacos. Nope. Wrong again. She has someone else read the screen to prove me wrong... only for her to determine SHE was wrong. She read the wrong NAME!!!! Still doesn't apologize for her error but continues to tell me that I should try doing her job. I do. I work in customer service as a manager. It's hard work and would never come at a customer She did, especiallyin person. I asked her for her manager... shocker! She IS the manager. She shouldn't be and is doing your restaurant a deservice by telling your patrons not to come back. I will not be coming back to this location even for pick up. read more

Theyre always out of stock on the good food. For months they havent had certain burgers, any chicken strips or nuggets. The drive through should be open until 3am but they block their drive thru with a chair at midnight so no one can order then ignore phone calls and sit on their phones. People suck! read more

One of the hallmarks of a fast food establishment is convenience. The Ramona Jack-in the-Box was not only inconvenient this morning, but its personnel were also downright rude. We wasted our time by driving over to find their front doors locked. Their drive-through line was backed up by at least a dozen cars, which is why I decided to try going inside. There was no sign in the parking lot or on the door indicating that walk-in service was not available, so I knocked and knocked and knocked--several times in all, each time harder, thinking they couldn't hear. (I figured out they were ignoring me.) A man walked up who was there to pick up a delivery order. I suggested he try knocking because my knuckles were sore (still are). He pounded so hard I thought the glass would break. A girl with keys came over immediately and opened the door. She quickly and rudely announced, "Doordash only!" The man went inside and as she was shutting the door in my face, I asked, "Why are your doors locked?" She said, "We are short staffed." No friendliness, no apologies. I said, "Why don't you post signs, rather than inconvenience your customers?" She said, "We don't have time. Don't you see the line?" Now, I know why this Jack-in-the Box has two stars and the Ramona Wendy's has four. It's called having a poorly trained staff and inept management. Since Jack-in-the-Box had just issued a new coupon flier, management should have known this would be a busy morning. Rather than waste customers' time forcing them to get out of their cars and knock on the door, a sign should have been posted in the lot and on the door -- "No walk-in service." And when dealing with customers who merely wish to buy breakfast, rudeness is never appropriate. I wish I could give the Ramona Jack in the Box zero stars for being the antithesis of a fast food restaurant -- inconvenient and definitely not fast. I ended up going to Wendy's and will stick with them in the future. read more

I had several bad experiences before the remodel, and I never came anymore but I wanted to give it another opportunity since it's brand new and maybe new management? Not sure, but it's still trash. They close whenever they feel like it, and only drive thru is available, the line is extremely long. I ordered a mobile order and I was gonna walk there since I live close. Wow new building should be a fresh start..... Nope same old store, drive through is slow, they can't seem to have Coke Zero available but conflicting stories on reason..suspect. i order my food on the app so my food can be ready by the time I get there. I get there at 9:15 and the lobby is closed. On the app and on the hours on the door say they close at 10pm. They could see that people were trying to get in i wasn't the only one and the employees would just laugh and turn around. So disrespectful. Therefore, i had to sit in the long drive thru for 30 minutes by then my food was already cold. I might rate this place higher if they could ever get my order right. I generally go through the drive thru for ease of feeding Wee One at home, and they mess up my order every time. I order chicken sandwiches, they give me beef. I order coke, I get dr pepper. I order chicken nuggets and they are burned to a crisp every time, but since W.O. doesn't eat beef, we always end up having to get burnt nuggets. The parking lot seems to be a hangout for all of the homeless and/or scary people I was unaware Ramona had. The milk shakes are awesome though. read more

With my companion having a hankering for the food of this chain restaurant the day after New Year's Day, we stopped here since we were in the area anyway. He really wanted a burger, as I think he was experiencing a hangover. At the last second of ordering the burger, I decided to get a small order of french fries. Within a few minutes, we had food in hand (in a bag to go). I immediately opened the bag to get at, what I hoped to be, hot and fresh french fries. However, it was not to be - they were luke warm at best. I ate a few and then quit. My companion enjoyed his burger for what it was - expectedly mediocre. I actually hit this Jack's twice yesterday. We were on our way to a football game in Borrego, and stopped for a couple of burgers and drinks. No issues, and the drive through service was quick and painless. The person taking the order actually listened to us and got it right the first time! If the review was based on on this experience alone, I would give 4 stars. However.... We stopped on the way home, around midnight. We pulled up to the speaker, and the girl said "Can you please wait a second?" We said sure, and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, my husband said "Hello?" To which she answered: "Can you Puleeze just wait a minute?" We waited some more, and she finally came on and took our order. All we wanted was 2 ice teas, and an order of 5 churros. It took 4 verbal exchanges before she had it right. We finally pulled up to the window, and waited some more. By the time we finally received our drinks and food, we had been there over 15 minutes. I considered one star but I have to temper my review with my expectations. When I go to fast food joints I know to expect subpar food and sub-intelligent servers but I will not accept rudeness and ignorance. I worked fast food as a youngster (14-15) and I know how bad it can be, I know that very, very few people working there are going to consider a career there. However, even way back then the corporations had training manuals and even some videos later on that taught EVERYTHING you needed to know about how to do your job. From dressing to clocking in, cleaning tables to cooking fries and most of all, this is my point (drumroll please) how to be polite and courteous to the guests. Without guests there is no business. Now I understand what this place is and what it offers and I also am very familiar with the target audience. I very rarely eat fast food but once in a while I need to be reminded why I don't :-) JIB, you gotta keep your employees trained to be courteous or you'll end up losing out in the long run. I, for one, care that I am treated with just the minimal respect as a paying customer. I, for one, care that the staff understands how to process a coupon and how to return change from $6. People: if you make a mistake, own it, apologize and get it right the next time. BTW, that ranch chicken sandwich was about the size of a silver dollar. I'm still hungry!!! read more
