Seems it's not a one off - rather they consistently close the Wailuku and Kihei locations BUT leave the app open to accept orders and of course your payment, even when there is no way of requesting a refund in the app. It's is done so consistently and often that there is no way this is an accident. They have the ability to restrict orders from going through on the app when a location is close but I believe they choose not to because they know most people won't go through what it takes to get a refund, especially since it takes days or weeks to hear back after submitting a survey and even then they only respond 1/2 the time. I am convinced this is a way to make money and save product. Certainly there is a shortage of workers, but that does not explain why they consistently leave the app open to accept orders, knowing that the restaurants are closed. The app should have a way to cancel your order or request a refund. Seems premeditated and it must be illegal at this point. read more

This Jack in the box is a hit or miss for me. The minute I don't check my items in my bag, it's wrong and I don't discover it until I'm at home already....go figure lol. The last couple times I got food from this Jack in the box, I used their app and saved time and money and my order was actually correct. First off, this location is popular for locals because its 24 hrs. Pro tip: order in the app. You can skip the long line and bypass the speaker. The speaker can be very hard to hear. With that said, they don't have a whole bunch of workers. So yes your order can take some time. For me it is always worth it because my food is super hot and fresh. BEWARE OF THESE THIEVES. AVOID. (2023) I placed a mobile order and ordered a meal and a shake. I prepaid through the app. When I arrived at the drive-through, they said their shake machine was broken. That's fine- I said just refund me what I paid for the shake. THEY REFUSED. They would not refund me the $5.89 I paid for my shake. So I told them to refund my entire order- and I bought lunch at the McDonald's down the road. I have been a customer at this Jack in the Box since they first opened. Recently, the Wailuku location has had major issues. They do not have enough employees to staff the restaurant. The dinning area is now permanently closed and being used for storage. They have ripped me off before, too. In two previous visits this year, after I had paid for my meal, they told me they were out of curly fries and substituted regular fries without refunding me the difference in price. In February, I went to this location and there was only a single female employee working that day. She was terrified and placed a chair in the drive-through to close it off to customers. She then locked herself in the restaurant and told any customers that approached the door that she was alone and could not prepare orders by herself. SHAME ON THE MANAGEMENT. If you treat your employees like this, no wonder no one wants to work for you. I have warned all my family and friends to stay away. Dine here at your own risk. read more

We keep driving by this jack in the Box because we are staying in the area and we kept seeing the fried rice sign and know we had to try it. Why not? So as We got closer we can see it has eggs and Portuguese sausage too! Score! But it costs $5. And for the amount they gave me it wasn't that much. Its one of the few places on the island open late night and they have everything (egg rolls, salad, burgers, etc.). Its almost impossible to try everything on the menu. One of our go to stops after a late night. Due to its location once it hits midnight the drive thru line is usually wrapped around the parking lot and extremely slow. There's roughly 5 bars in a half mile radius from this place and on nights where there's concerts at the MACC it's even worse. The employees are ok. You get some rude ones that are only there for a paycheck and you get some nice ones that make the best out of any situation. I went there and the lights were all off but there was still about 10 cars in the drive thru. Once I ordered and got to the window the guy was nice and patient. He asked about their line and I told them. He told me that there was only 2 of them on a Friday night and 3 people called out. They turned off the lights hopping people would think they were closed but are still serving those that come to order he was so nice and just buckled down for the long night ahead! Some times it's a hit or miss with your orders being correct or missing a few things and their speaker isn't the greatest. I ordered a #13 and she asked what kinda drink with my #17.... I was craving something late at night that was fast to eat and I remembered Jack in the Box. A few times that I had driven by they had ads up for their $4.99 fish sandwich meal. So color me intrigued and I set out to give my tastebuds a try. The fish meal comes with the sandwich, an order of small fries and a medium drink or your choice (you could probably substitute the normal fries for curly ones at an additional cost if you ask). I had purposefully asked for my sandwich to come without the tartar sauce seen in the ad. I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised with my order. My sandwich was a tad smooshed since it was at the bottom of the bag but the fish patty was crisp on the outside and still hot. The lettuce wasn't bad either it still had some crunch to it and they weren't wilted. I've been to this location multiple times and the speed of service has been inconsistent but I haven't had issues with what they produced. All in all it was worth a quick drive thru trip to try out their promotion on the fish sandwich meal. read more

For me, this location is out of the way except for when I'm at work. It's a fairly new store, probably about 10 years old or so, located at the busy intersection of Lower Main & Lower Waiehu Beach Rd. It's a small footprint, clean, with a few indoor tables, and drive thru. Access in & out is easy, parking is minuscule and tight. Service was friendly, though it took a while for my Ultimate Cheeseburger to be made. But, it was well worth the wait as the burger was nicely prepared and not sloppy at all except for a few ketchup & mustard overflows. The more, the merrier! FACTS: There are only 3 locations on the rock - This one, Kahului, and Kihei. The Lahaina location closed years ago which didn't even have a drive thru. JITB has locations in only 19 US states, mostly on the west coast, so we should all be so lucky! Kind of like having an In N Out. Just kidding. Nothing can compare to I&O! Let me start by saying that I NEVER eat fast food. It makes me so nauseous, I avoid it at all costs. Jack in the Box, however, is definitely a game changer. We ordered their spicy chicken sandwich, 14 piece nugget, large fry and chocolate shake. Everything was so delicious. I've never had a fast food chicken sandwich have such crispy chicken. And to have my sandwich and nuggets actually taste like chicken... I was amazed. Definitely raising the bar for the fast food industry. Their prices are a bit higher than the other chains - however I think their superior flavor and quality warrants the higher prices. read more

the customer service was absolutely terrible. first off the drive-thru takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r, i understand that its not going to be immediate but its "fast" food. there should be no reason im waiting in the car for an hour js for some fries second, im a door dasher so i go through the drive thru and let them know i have a door dash and i tell them the name and all, but i also wanna place an order myself. the employee says to me in the sassiest tone i heard "are you sure? thats going to increase your wait" i wouldve been fine if he left it at that but when i told him i was okay with waiting and i placed my order (number 11) he said in the most judgmental tone "oh that's DEFINITELY going to increase your wait." excuse me? so i js told him to cancel the order and stick with the door dash. we waited what felt like an eternity in the drive thru and we hear him yelling at us to honk our horn at the local man in front of us. we reluctantly honked our horn then apologized afterwards. this employee then proceeded to try and charge us for the number 11 saying that its ready when we already cancelled it. we then asked to speak to the manager his attitude immediately changed and he waltzed to the back to retrieve the manager. unbelievable customer service, im normally a chill person but this interaction today infuriated me. read more

What can I say about Jack in the box? Well if it wasn't for tacos and munchie meals I would not come here. The service varies but is usually pretty awful. Different jack in the boxes have different promotions which seems very strange since they are all owned by the same franchise owner.
