A fantastic place to eat a must try if you have free time or on a lunch break I always get the Philly cheese steak

Stop and try this place the food is so delicious, it won't disappoint! We got Philly cheesesteaks and a hot dog for the kids. The best Philly cheesesteak I have had, the french fries are so amazing as well, not oily and perfectly seasoned. Want homemade kool-aid? You have to try theirs, so good! We ordered to go on our way to Hilton Head and stopped again on our way back. Make sure you call ahead and expect to wait at least 5-10 minutes to get the food, everything is made fresh and right as you order. They didn't have any desserts but I wish I could try some of their homemade desserts! Can't wait to go back soon! read more

Visited Jackie M's for lunch today after seeing previous Yelp reviews. We had the Philly cheesesteak and fries, and they did not disappoint. Everything was freshly prepared on site and delivered hot to our table. The staff were all friendly and concerned about customers. We had a nice conversation with the owner and left very impressed. To be clear, Jackie M's is not a fancy tablecloth kind of place, it is a neighborhood sandwich shop. It gets five stars for providing an amazing sandwich and great service. YUM!!!...My first impression was of a small ma and pa shop. Convenient off street parking. Good Customer service would be an understatement. I felt like I was in the home and kitchen of my Aunt Jackie. I ordered the jerk chicken Philly, Philly steak and the jerk sol rolls. Every ingredient was on point. The service was excellent, and so was the food. The cheesesteak was flavorful and I also had the New York cheesecake and it was great too. The first time I was able to get Kool-Aid at a restaurant and it was awesome. The fries are also cut at the restaurant and were perfectly seasoned. Would recommend and come back again. read more

I heard the hype...and they completely lived up to it!! Best cheesesteak I have EVER had. I had the one with mushrooms and onions and steak sauce but I chose to leave the steak sauce off. IT.WAS.AWESOME. The hoagie roll was perfect...not too hard, not too soft and did I mention the cheesesteak was sooo good??!! My favorite part though were my interactions with the staff...friendly, funny, happy to be there, and loving life. The whole experience made my day!! You go there to get your belly filled, but they fill your soul too. This is not a fancy restaurant, but you don't come to this place for a white tablecloth, candles, and silverware. You come to this place for the quality food and friendly service and get treated like a family member. The food was phenomenal. I don't usually get Philly Cheese Steak because I think it is just too much cheese and stake. I did get Philly Cheese Steak in Philly, so I can tell that this Philly Cheese Steak was better than the one that I had in Philly. It was not too salty, and it was not too greasy. The trick is to get it with lettuce, tomatoes, and banana peppers. Of course, I didn't know this, but the friendly server gentleman recommended it. Oh, and like a true Philly eater, I put little black pepper when I got my food. I know, if you are the purest, you don't get lettuce and tomatoes etc on your Philly, but just trust me, it is so much better with it. You know this is the real deal in the South if they have Kool-aid. I loved the little homie ambient, friendly servers, and the food. They also gave me a CD with their original songs at the register. I was underwhelmed. Maybe I was expecting too much. The fries were bland. The jerk chicken soul rolls were gross. The philly soul rolls were ok and edible but not anything life changing. My husband enjoyed his philly with steak sauce, but honestly it tasted like any other philly from restaurants near us with A1 added to it. Not worth the hype or the price. Couldn't try the famous cheesecake or peach cobbler due to not being in stock when we ordered. You can get a better sandwich at knuckle sandwiches and I prefer the philly from Atown wings to be perfectly honest. Won't order from here again, especially from Augusta Takeout Express. It's took an hour and half for the food to get here. Not worth the wait. read more

My new favorite place! The staff is awesome. You have to come by and meet Anthony. The philly rolls are amazing! Homemade ranch for dipping is to die for. They also have kool-aid! We got the super gutbuster Philly cheesesteak meal and the chicken soul roll wing ding meal, along with the red velvet cheesecake for dessert. Our meal did not disappoint. I wish I would have took some pictures. This place was above and beyond what I expected. They are a bit pricey but it makes up for the up keep and upgrades they have done to the place. One of my Top 3 picks for local spots in Augusta. Their sandwiches hands down are such a class in their own. I had the Philly Cheese steak, OMG. But the best thing about them are the Soul Roles. This place was seriously amazing. The moment we walked in, we felt like family. They could tell we weren't from the area, so they welcomed us with open arms. Literally! The philly cheese steak was the best we've ever had and the philly cheese chicken with homemade BBQ was just as great. They only answer the phone for takeout when its convenient for them and even sent me to voicemail. It really sucks because I work very close by and would eat there multiple times a week if they answered their phone or acted somewhat professional. Great food, terrible customer service. this was literally one of my favorite places to go but since their famous yelp review last year, the food has changed majorly. the fullness of the sandwhiches arent there anymore. the soul rolls are half the size they used to be. i ordered a sandwich yesterday and it was barely any meat, overloaded in mayo and a lot of bread. everything has changed. the one positive i can say is the food does taste good. i cant take that part from them. read more

It was like eating a meal at home with family (although, I don't know your family... these people may be way nicer). The food was amazing. We both had cheesesteak baskets and the little guy had fries and mixed KoolAid (in a big cup, like a grown-up, which he loved). Their homemade ranch was to die for. Best ranch in town. We finished up with Red Velvet cheesecake, which was fantastic- way better than any other we've found in the area. We brought home Soul Rolls and, big surprise, those were also perfection. My colleagues in Minnesota had recently visited Augusta and described Jackie M's as "life changing". They loved it so much that I went to find out for myself as soon as I got back home, and I couldn't agree more with their enthusiasm.
