I recently visited Jacks in Paso. They have remodeled since it was Senior Sanchos and it looks really good! My friend and I sat at the bar and we had the best bartender named Lillie serve us. For my meal, I had the cod fish tacos with coleslaw--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. To top it all off, I tried the drunken caramel apple crisp, which was the perfect sweet ending. Had a takeout order that was less than satisfactory and for the price I should have been mighty impressed. Decided tonight to reconsider and perused the menu again and came to do this review. The prices are just too much for this area. We were hopeful we would have a close by neighborly restaurant but these are tourist prices. This "could" have been a wonderful option for the east side. We came in today (8.9.25) and were seated pretty much immediately. Our waitress Lillian came to the table pretty quickly and got out drink orders in. She was kind, attentive and smiled a lot. She was helpful and made sure we enjoyed our experience! There was nothing missed or a drink empty for too long. The restaurant was clean and quiet. We were super happy with Lillian and her help! I've been twice now and so far, so good. It's a new restaurant with new staff. They are still working out a few kinks but, that's expected. Not a problem in my opinion. The staff has been super friendly. They are on top of things. Maybe a little slow but, that will improve. The location has been completely revamped inside from the old restaurant that used to be there. It looks fresh and inviting inside. Great touches to give it a nice, comfortable feel. I could definitely see meeting up with friends here for many meals and drinks. It's very nice that it is located away from downtown so you don't have to deal with all the out of towners bugging! That's a plus! It seems to be really pulling in the locals. That makes me happy. The food has been great so far. It's right there with the good quality just like the Templeton location. The bar is top notch and there are plenty of TV's for you people who want to watch the game. I know my wife and I will definitely be regulars here! About a year after my first review, I have a happy update! I don't know his work schedule, but our truly thoughtful, kind-energy, server JOSH began our repeat visit with an A++. What a wonderful server! In the future, I will call in advance to request him. He is the GOLD standard (and I've never met him before). Maybe this high-level of service has dipped in the recent years... but WOW! My friend, who was with me, shared that she and her husband were graced to have him serve them before and same wonderful energy and efficiency. The inside space was still very nice, and the music was at the perfect level to soften but to not intrude or rush or annoy. The selection was just what I like. (soft classic pop??) Our food was excellent (as it usually is). I had the spinach wrap - with carnitis. My friend had their taco salad (her fave). Perfect! I didn't want a "side", but Josh told me that I could take the side "to go"... knowing I'd eat only half of the wrap -- I chose the chicken tortilla soup "to go". When we asked for extra napkins (in advance...my wrap can be messy)...they were served on a plate before our meals arrived. Josh brought us a small pitcher of refill water with lemon. He brewed a fresh pot of coffee for me. He would check on us but with awareness...we were there at least two hours catching up. (the restaurant wasn't busy with folks waiting) Parking was easy. And construction is STILL going on for their side patio. We had a perfect and lovely time, excellent lunch, extra bonus food to take home (thoughtfully packaged)... the VERY best part was JOSH. Give them time 1star reviewers... they're just getting their doors opened, staff trained etc. The upgrades here are great, this end of town needed a nice place & some good food too. Loving the remodel inside & out! The hostess greeted us immediately & was very polite & quick to get the busy front of house handled. Our server (Coleby)was knowledgeable & quick as well. Jack's has recently become my new regular go-to spot when I want to have a delicious meal paired with a cold beer. The restaurant itself is very welcoming and the Trashcan Nachos(don't let the name scare you) are so good, they almost should be an entree instead of a starter. Our server is usually a gal by the name of Jessica(sometimes called "Jess" by the other staff/regulars) is such a nice person and always looking to ensure our satisfaction. She is also behind the bar sometimes and let me tell you, the Mezcal Paloma she whips up is out of this world! Jack's is a definite must if you haven't tried it yet. read more

This was Friday, November 24th, 2023 evening. If you're day drinking, Jacks is where you want to end the day at. Service was great. I was with a party of around 8 people, my server (sorry, I forgot her name) did everything with a smile on her face. She was extremely nice, knew the menu, and fun !! We were at the table 5 feet across from the host stand. I had the BBQ burger with fries, along with onion rings. I tried ordering Mexican Candy shots, but my server told me the bartenders had no idea what I was talking about lol maybe it's a LA thing. Blessings to you guys !! read more

Jessica did an amazing job serving our party of 7. She made sure drinks were flowing and our food was just the way we ordered it. All of us had an amazing time and the food was great. I ordered the spinach wrap and customized it by adding pico de gallo. Their taco salad was also a big hit! It was full of flavor and the chefs added plenty of meat. The food quality at Jack's depends upon what you order. I recommend the burgers, fries and glazed salmon. The service is generally good. I wish their prices were more reasonable as I would like a neighborhood joint I could frequent more often. read more

Terrible food and overpriced. You would think that the owners, who operate several restaurants would have figured out how to offer descent food but the burger was worse than fast food places. The chilli was also bad. AVOID!!! read more

Solid local restaurant. This is a nice improvement to the neighborhood off Creston Road. We live in Meadowlark Farms, so Jack's is very convenient. The food is great, and similar to their other location in Templeton. We have tried the cod tacos, BBQ burger, chili burger, and some fries and appetizers. The onion rings are outstanding. Food is just ok. And what about that credit card surcharge? Ought to be illegal to surcharge. I asked the server if they had lowered the menu prices since surcharging credit card customers and she said they did not. So it's a 3% increased profit. The server said tips had lessened to compensate for the surcharge. What wonderful business model. And guess what? This owner has several cafes and they are all starting to charge for credit card use. I came in here and sat at the bar. Very slow Monday, and upon sitting at the bar we were greeted by the very rude bartender Dancine. I'm not sure if it was just a bad day for her, or what happened.
