Great place! I dragged my VERY FULL washbasket into Jack's Laundry at noon and was told it would be ready by 6:00PM. TODAY. For only $1.00/pound. The woman who works there was super friendly as well. She also weighed my clothes without the washbasket- something I thought was just above and beyond. Wow. They did a great job. Everything smells great and is neatly folded. It was also ready and waiting when I came at 6:00. Easy. Breezy. Wonderful. Definitely recommend it. By the way-- it is open on Saturday. I think it's 8:00-7:00PM, same as M-F. Good service, well priced, conveniently located in the neighborhood. They have a special 10-minute parking spot, but don't count on it's availability (I've been the only customer in the store a couple of times, and yet the spot was taken). I took off 2 stars for their "cash only" policy and "no same day service"...I wanted a pair of pants dry cleaned urgently, and they said they don't offer same-day service (not sure why one of the Yelpers below commended them for same-day service). read more

I love this place. I'm allergic to most scented detergents, so I bring my own detergent packets. Today when I dropped off my clothes, I realized that I had forgotten the packets. :-( But the owner showed me that she had saved the extra packets I had brought the last time. So I didn't have to go all the way back home, and walk back to the laundromat. Jack's did a good job on my heavy canvas futon cover, and my huge synthetic quilt. The quilt was charged separately, but they still base the price on size. I'm new to 'wash and fold' and was pleasantly surprised to find all my items wrapped up nicely in paper. I showed up close to closing time for drop off and pick up - the counter clerk was really friendly and explained the charges to me. A plus for people who don't like artificial scents - I can't smell any fragrance - but I'm NOT allergic so maybe I just don't notice. read more

I rarely, rarely leave reviews but I had to commend Jack's for their incredible service and good work. I brought a few pieces of formal wear to have taken in (including some suit pants from 30 pounds ago) and they were able to get the clothes altered in time for a wedding. For a dramatic taking in of pants and jacket, it cost me about 60 bucks and the suit looks better on me than a really expensive suit I tried on at Neiman. Save yourself the money and have your formal wear altered here (instead of buying new)! read more

Sometimes the laundry piles up and you feel like you can't get to the bottom of the pile. Seriously. This happened to me recently, in fact, and I just couldn't deal with it anymore. On advice of friends, I took my laundry over to Jack's, who gladly accepted my 71 pounds of filth (who knew that hoodies weighed so much?). They had my laundry done and ready for pick up by 5:00 pm so I could look sharp and smell clean for dinner. While I hope to keep up with my laundry going forward, I know Jack's will be there to help should I ever feel overwhelmed to a point that therapy is not enough. read more

Honestly great service and extremely reasonable prices. My washing machine was broken for a while and I let the laundry pile up while waiting for it to get fixed (landlord taking their time...) I couldn't stand it anymore so I went around the block to Jack's and dropped off fifty pounds of laundry (counting a heavy coat and a fluffy blanket and some delicate wash hang dry only items), left some very specific instructions, and got everything back in a few days, in perfect condition. (Shout-out to them for accurately pairing and super neatly folding 30+ unique pairs of socks, my least favorite part of doing my own laundry). Over the years I've tried their wash and fold, dry clean, alteration services and been happy every time with the price and quality. Super friendly people at the front too. I used to go here by default since it was right across from my place... now that I have moved I still go here! I have used their dry cleaning and tayloring servince and have been happy with both. My clothes have always looked great. Definitely cleaned and pressed nicely - never damaged or lost. I thought that all dry cleaners were the same until I used a different one with horrible results. I will never stary again... Plus the woman who runs the place is very nice. Even recognizes me on the street and always says hello! read more

Summary: Terrific price, great work on mending and dry cleaning. Friendly staff. I thought my jeans were destroyed - I had worn through and ripped a giant hole right under my left butt cheek on not one, but both of my favorite pairs of jeans. I mean we're talking 6-7 inch gashes, with fray. I brought them into these guys, and they did an AMAZING job patching them from the inside and reinforcing both sides....all for $15 each pair. I took photos, but don't know how to upload them. I also brought in two fancy short dresses, and they cleaned each (well) for $8 a piece. read more

I was sad when the Gay Cleaning Lady closed up shop, but have been absolutely thrilled with the service and cleaning at Jack's (although I don't think there actually is a "Jack"). Drop your clothes off in the morning (even late morning) and they'll be ready that evening. If you have shirts for wash & press, it's a one day turn around. I was looking for a cheap but durable alteration solution and I found it here! For $18 they brought in the waist of my Levi's jeans. I needed them taken in by more than an inch which I've been told is a hard thing to do. The final alteration looks great in that my jeans do not appear to be altered! The new cut fits seamlessly with the original seam of the jeans and the pockets do not appear to be slanted or warped. Would definitely come back again with any future alteration needs. read more

Jack's is back. These good people took it on the chin this summer with that hugely delayed construction project that was imposed on the building - and which shut their business down for months. So let's help them get back on their feet and keep a good friendly family business in the neighborhood. In addition to great laundry and dry cleaning, Sue does excellent alternations (not just hemming - she recently did some impeccable alterations to the waist of some new slacks). If just a few dozen people in the neighborhood dug out all the stuff they've been putting off getting dry cleaned for the past months and plopped it down at Jack's it would go a long way toward getting their business back to normal. I guess this is the danger of positive Yelp reviews--I had very high expectations for this place given the high ratings. The green parking spot in front was open for me both on pickup and delivery. Dropoff gave me a good feeling--prices were right, the woman even offered to sew a button for no charge. When it came time for pickup though, I was underwhelmed--my shirts looked like they had been hastily pressed with some pressed-in wrinkling, the (different) woman at pick up charged me for the button, and a button on a brand new shirt was partially disintegrated. Did I say it was a brand new shirt? The search for a great, reasonably priced dry cleaner continues... read more

Cheap. That's the only good part. I asked them to dry clean a pair of PRADA pants and to take special care of them. They came back with little bleach stains on the back pockets. Obviously they washed them. Not good for your important garments. Still bummed. read more

We used that place for the last few years until we recently got 2 pieces of clothes damaged there, coming back with cuts in them. Even a regular washing machine wouldn't have done as much damage as they did. We had troubles with them in the past (mostly of not doing what we asked for or vice versa), but this one was a very serious malpractice. And of course they wouldn't do anything about it, blaming the place where they contract out their washing. I guess this isn't surprising as their business model is based on being cheap and fast. So only consider this place for clothes that are not precious. From our side we are done with this place. read more

I've taken several pairs of pants to Jack's to be hemmed and loved the results. They can do work over night if necessary. I often give them a few days, but they can have a very quick turnaround. A good friend had a job interview, needed suit pants taken out by 8am the next morning, and Jack's Laundry delivered. I've also had my duvet and down comforter cleaned there and it was a beautiful job. Catch was, large comforters are expensive and a price list is not clearly posted, so definitely be sure to ask prices when you turn in laundry. My roommate has used their dry cleaning service and has been happy with the results as well. Highly recommended if you're int he neighborhood! read more

I have my little routine with them and they know never to give me plastic covers over my items, so she immediately takes them off and saves them to use again. They do a good job on dress shirts and dry cleaning, but my regular laundry does not come back clean - either they use cold water on everything, or they are scrimping on soap. I had one longsleeved t-shirt come back smelling funny (like bouillon or something). Dirt does not come out. I am shopping for a new laundry. read more

The prices are very reasonable ($10.00 for hemmed pants) and the turn around lightning quick---thanks to Ivy, who is a pleasure to do business with.
