I usually try to be loyal to a small business in addition to spending thousands of dollars there, but here are the 3 strikes- 1. They lost my sportcoat and handled it terribly. No apology, no follow up, nor did they call me back when they said they would. They admitted it may have been given to another customer, but were surly and in denial when I politely asked them to reconcile. 2. Smaller deal, but they overcharged me for a stain, did not get it out, charged me anyway, and I later got it out in one cycle of wash at home. I politely let them know (they advised me to bring it there before washing it), and no acknowledgement. 3. Dogs go in there on leashes constantly. My 18 pound, friendly dog went to hi to another employee there, and was chased out by the same employee, swinging a rolling pin at her. I agree that maybe I shouldn't have brought her, but really? I tried to be nice each time, the sportcoat is irreplaceable, and I the only good news is that there are plenty of friendlier, more competant, and better dry cleaners in this city. I can get past that they often do a sloppy job ironing, but I've spent a lot of money there, and they lose my stuff. read more

Found this place through an article published on Mission Local, and have gone there for a few fixes so far and been really happy! I had a faux fur jacket that was falling apart after too many visits to Burning Man and they fixed it up so it should survive another ten years out there hopefully! Then I had a vintage shirt I loved that I didn't realize there was a tear in and brought it to Sunny for fixes and they fixed it up in a day for a reasonable price - been really happy with them and am glad I've got a go to fix it shop for my clothes! read more

There are NEW OWNERS as of recently and Sunny retired. I've used their Wash and Fold service twice and the clothes aren't cleaned the same, they are folded so oddly, too. Not neat, not organized. They don't feel or smell the same. They raised prices and accidentally charged me twice on two occasions. I also had to make alterations to a newly purchased suit and it was poorly taken in. Its almost as if the alteration never even happened $65 later. Do not recommend. read more

I've fixed a few of my pants here and it's a good option for fast and cheap service (change waist/length for just $30). Not totally happy with their dry cleaning service as the jacket I took there still had bunch of small stains left on it. I kind of want to keep this place a secret to myself but I feel compelled to share how good I think there service and prices are. On more than one occasion, I got quoted some astronomical price for some tailoring and ended up taking my suits, jackets, shirts, pants, etc here and got them fitted here for a fraction of the price. And by fraction I mean like 1/2 or sometimes 1/5 the price of a normal tailor. They do an excellent job and are super nice here, don't think you're going to have to endure some crappiness to save a few bucks. They're the real deal in terms of service, quality, and price. This lady is genius. 20 Dollars for 4 hemmed pants and I got them the next day??? And one pair of shorts had some major re-tailoring done to it as it has tucked detailing all over it and she worked it out like a magician. Please take that stack of clothes you have in the corner of your closet that needs hemming, altering stitching, repairs etc that have been sitting there - like, "oh one day ill bring you all in to a tailor" and bring them to Miss Sunny Launderette TODAY. Laundry is OK, but avoid stiching at this place!!! The owner stitched a cut on a $120 Hugo boss shirt. It was done so reckless and she actually used a machine for stitching. It cannot be worn now. Open until 7PM! Service with a smile. They package your clothes very nicely when you do the wash and fold service. It is .90 cents a pound, so a huge suitcase full of clothes ran me $28. Great neighborhood spot to get your clothes taken care of quickly (dropped them off at at 6:45PM Monday, and they were ready at 5:30PM Tuesday)! read more

This is for dry cleaning service. Every time I've taken clothing in with a bad stain, I point out the stain to them, and invariably they work to get it out. Really bad food stains...gone. I think they do a fantastic job. I've had nothing but great experiences and results here. read more

This is my neighbourhood dry cleaner. They are nice and always seem to be open and their costs are reasonable. My only complaint is that the do not always have my clothing ready when they say it is going to be ready--I had to go back 3 times to get my clothing on one occasion I still go back because I don't want to trapse to more distant dry cleaners; An update; their alteration service is great. I have been to many an alteration service in SF and it is a heart-ache; horribly expensive and to get a turn-around in this decade is more than difficult. I feel like I am negotiating an off shore oil exploration contract. BUT Sunny Launderette as I have just recently found out is really great with this! I'll be the first to admit that I like this place and frequently bring my clothes here, about once every week. I mean it's conveniently located (which happens to be the reason I go to many places) to a friend's house, and the prices are dirt cheap. But alas I will also be the first to admit that this place is not perfect, even though you so want it to be. Sweet little Sally is so courteous and helpful and she always greets you with a smile. How can that not coax you into bringing your clothes here? Even though I'm sure behind those sweet eyes lies a untamed lioness ready to drag you off and feed you to her babies. But hey we'll reach that bridge when we get to it... On many occasions my clothes have come back with a few hairs here and there, and perhaps not completely ironed in some places. Again, you can't have your Sunny Launderette and eat it too (however much the frosting may look good.) I have also had a couple weird incidents here: once I had paid for my clothes with a 20, and as I was about to leave Sally said I didn't pay. I did a double take swearing i handed her the bill, yet my 20 was nowhere to be found. And then today, I go to pick up my clothes and Sally said that there were 5 shirts rather than 4 so I had to quickly get cash to cover the one shirt. Ok, did you not count them in front of me as I gave you my clothes? Yes, yes, there are five shirts but I shouldn't have to pay for your miscalculation. (And please don't ask me how many lights there are, i see 4 dammit, 4!) See, the place is just shy of being perfectly perfect. But you can't beat the price, and until lioness drags me off, I'll continue to take my clothes here. read more

I had a bunch of pants that needed hemming and the service was excellent. I would try on a pair, they'd pin the length to what I wanted (wearing the shoes that would give the right length), and then, after taking them off, they'd measure to the length from the crotch to verify. You can even choose the color thread. I love how they turned out! Dry cleaning is so affordable too. I had a lipstick stain on a sweater that I pointed out (Lyonnaise French Laundry could not remove) and although they tried, it was slightly lighter, and an improvement from what Lyonnaise tried. Generally, though, regular sweater dry-cleaning is great. Overall, they are super-friendly, professional, affordable, and a best-kept secret for Mission/Noe folks (and worth the drive if need be)! read more

Gave it a try for wash and fold. Really bad hours, nobody wants to be thinking about when to do laundry. No posted prices, dodgy arithmetic on the bill with a bunch of scribbles, cash only, and the clerk didn't make correct change when I paid her. Friendly. When no dry cleaners are willing to take your super old stains out cause i.e. too much work/not worth it, this place is my definite new (permanent) dry cleaner spot, not only will they be willing to work with you about the process and cost but they are honest and will tell you if they can provide the service you desire for your favorite garment. Sunny Launderette and I have broken-up after so many good years together. In the past few months, I've started to get some of my shirts back with industrial-style tears in the elbow areas. The tears were straight across and not the result of normal wear and tear since it was happening to new shirts as well. After six of my shirts ended up ruined, I went in and kindly asked Sally to be more mindful of this problem in the future. I didn't ask for her to repair my shirts or compensate me for the loss. I merely asked that she be more careful in the future. After five loyal years of service, I assumed that she would be more gracious about this problem. Instead, she yielded no ground, arguing that she bore no blame and that my sharp elbows were responsible for these tears. I was genuinely stunned by this ridiculous line of reasoning and the lack of accepting any responsibility for these tears. Alas, I'll have to find another dry cleaner in the area. Previous review (6/25/07): I've been a customer for five years and very satisfied, particularly considering most other options in the neighborhood are more expensive. They have a fast turnaround, particularly if you drop off before 9am or so, and I've never had my clothes not ready on the pick-up date. They also do alterations but with mixed reviews (thus the 4 vs. the 5 stars). I've had good experiences with them lengthening/shortening pants but the sewing for tears has been unsightly. read more

Sunny Sally Wong rocks! She is always so nice and happy and gets the job done, on time, for the lowest price in town (not validated). The only thing is they are not computerized, so every time you go in you have to fill out a slip with your name and number and pay in cash. Keeps the prices low, so I'm not complaining. **** Sorry Sally, I have to change my rating from 5 to 4 stars because I just picked up a white shirt with what it looks like is an iron mark (can't blame only suspect)on it and I forgot how much I dislike that you only use wire hangers (no padding). read more

So far I've only gotten some tailoring done here, so I can't speak for the dry cleaning or wash and fold service, but I can tell you that clothing repair here is CHEAP. I normally go to Nancy, way over in the Tenderloin because she's so sweet and good at what she does, but Sally is winning me over for her prices, convenience, and speed. A friend of mine took two pairs of pants here to get the crotches repaired (riding a bike will blow out the crotch on any pants after enough time). 2 pairs for $15. I took a pair of pants with basically NO crotch left to them (I could fit two fists out the crotch and still have room) and she pretty much rebuilt the jeans for $25. Its much better than having to buy new jeans and break them in, etc etc. Just today I dropped off 3 pairs of jeans to get shortened (i buy stuff on sale that almost fits right and then get the work done) --$15 total. You really can't beat the price, and they're fast as hell. If you ride a bike--get your jeans repaired rather than buying new ones, and get newer ones reinforced before you lose them to the saddle. read more
