The Puerto Rican in me APPROVES. I'm not worried about the restaurant. It is as "homey" and unpretentious as any back road Santurce "friquitin de esquina" on the Island. You don't come for fine dining, you come for "home" cooking done REALLY WELL and served with such care - feels like you are at your favorite cousins house and they cater to you. On my way there to celebrate a 60th birthday, I took a gander at the menu. And it seemed so confusing. VERY. Ecuadorian, Italian and Brazilian... why? This CANT BE RIGHT. But I went along, sat with the birthday boy and his birthday entourage, hung out with his lovely sons, and after the hubby and I struggled with all the wonderfully described offerings. Fried fish, meats - Ecuadorian, Italian or Brazilian. Pizza. Pasta. Rice. LOTS OF RICE DISHES. Beans. Chicharron.., eggs... plantains... OH for the love of stuff we love to eat when we don't want to cook it, but in an ethnic way that grandma didn't teach us, and yet the levels of deliciousness we all have in common across the Latin and Brazilian Americas... My husband went with lamb chops off the Brazillian menu and I ordered the Churrasco Brazileiro. As the plates started arriving to the table we realized that these guys have PORTION ISSUES! SERIOUSLY! An order EASILY feeds two people. The meat, ALL of them were PERFECTLY Rare as ordered! Jasmine rice is fluffy and well cooked. I had beans that were mixed with a "feijoada" kind of situation. I had bites off the meats, leaving more than half and enjoyed ALL the chicarron, beans, rice and a lamb chop off Hubby's plate. The food is fantastic! Not fine dining. Just REALLY GOOD FOOD! Everyone enjoyed their food, and everyone had take home! I, walked away with meat and lamb, thinking about steak and eggs for breakfast in the morning. Our server?! SPECTACULAR! Just loving, caring, professional, friendly. Yes, this is "Latin Style" cafeteria food - cafeteria on steroids style. Delicious. HUGE PORTIONS. Soul Satisfying. Definitely was happy w this spot. My husband and I stopped in for breakfast. I had the avocado toast (with no egg: I follow a plant based diet) and my husband had the meat omelette (sausage, bacon, ham). Both were made fresh to order. Food was great! We've passed by this restaurant many times while vacationing g and decided to check it out for breakfast today. The menu was plentiful and the food was super fresh and amazing. Ordered were 1) eggs,bacon home fries and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly well done. The bacon was crispy and the home fried just right. 2) strawberry and banana French toast. It consisted of 6 1/2 slices of French toast topped with fresh strawberries and bananas dusted with powdered sugar. Very tasty and so appealing 3)breakfast burrito that was cooked with egg whites to perfection served with a side of home fries. The meals were very flavorful and robust and not salty which was a plus, since so many restaurant foods are too salty. Glad we chose this location. This is our go-to breakfast place when we are in the Hyannis/Yarmouth area. Been going here for years and have always had delicious food and excellent service. A big plus is that there is no wait compared to the more established places. My wife and daughter are both gluten-free and dairy-free. This restaurant is accommodating to their needs with no hassle and they *always* get their order right the first time. That rarely happens elsewhere. My favorite is the avocado toast (see the picture). The eggs are cooked perfectly such that the yolk is just the perfect consistency - not too runny and not over cooked. I sometimes get pancakes, omelettes, bacon/eggs, linguica, etc. Bacon is cooked perfectly too. Not burnt and crumbly but not undercooked and rubbery. All the food is very good! My wife and daughter (note they are not celiac) usually get a veggie omelette cooked in oil with a side of bacon and fruit cup. They are always satisfied with the food. Unfortunately no gluten free bread/toast. Love this hidden gem that is right out in the open on Rte 28. read more

Like the other reviewers, I left impressed. I got the cheese steak with French fries. The cheesesteak was good, and the fries were cooked in oil that wasn't old and rancid tasting. The water was nice and he did a good job being attentive. Only one negative. I asked for a coke and got a can of Coca Cola. They offer refillable fountain drinks of Pepsi. And the can is $3.00 whereas the fountain is just over $2.00. read more

Once is luck, twice isn't. I wrote a review on the Grand Cafe on Sat night, 8/4/2024 after the first time that we visited there. Tonight, 8/7/2024, for one of my sister's birthday we decided to go out of or dinner. As we discussed options, since my brother was not able to attend on Saturday evening, Grand Cafe won our vote hands down as we boasted that it was the best all-around restaurant on the Cape. We were not disappointed, again. Everything from the bread dipped in chopped olives with oil to the meats, mouth watering sauces, creamy , homemade pastas and birthday desert for my sister were excellent. My brother agreed with us and took a doggie bag form his ample portion for his lunch. Though the owner was off, Beatrice, assisted by her sister, was our server again. She was her warm, welcoming, familial self. There's nothing like enjoying a sumptous meal while being made to feel like a special guest, in a Brazilian home where dinners are the gathering celebration of family and the highlight of the day. First: Yelp's link to directions to this place is WRONG. The place is on Rt 80 closer to Hyannis than the directions show. Second: Go eat at this restaurant! It would be a shame for this great spot to close because no one knows its there. I had the Branzino with asparagus and risotto, my husband the Cod with mashed potatoes and vegetables and we were both super happy. We shared the beet salad and the kids had chicken fingers and we all walked out happy to have found the place. We usually hit another local legend for breakfast when we're in these parts but this morning we wanted to try a place where we could sit immediately. We were surprised to see a diner with empty tables through the window This place is so new, I don't know how much longer this will be the case once word gets out. It's very clean and bright, the menu is solid and the service is fast and friendly. I got a scrambled bacon egg and cheese on a bagel (wasn't super hungry), my husband got the breakfast combo: 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and 2 pieces of Portugese linguca (which is like a more delicious kielbasa) and he dug it. Kid 2 ordered Eggs Benedict and he said they "blew his doors off". The coffee kept coming. Prices are shockingly reasonable considering the prices of most breakfasts out here on the Cape. On our way out, a guy in a truck with a bunch of kids yelled out to us, "How was the food!?" We all gave him immediate thumbs up. Word WILL get out so enjoy not waiting while you can :D read more

This family run restaurant is a breath of fresh air in the "Fried Seafood Madness" that is the Cape It is conveniently located next to a mini-golf course, so you can do dinner and a game! They do have fried food and do have seafood (beer battered Fish & Chips), but they also have vegetables! Good Vegetables, like Brussels sprouts, asparagus, green beans and roasted artichokes. They have burgers; beef, veggie and a vegan burger with Quinoa. They have lamb, salmon and calamari. The menu is smallish but there is something for everyone! We had the salmon and chicken, the marinade and sauces served with it were delish, someone knows what they are doing in the kitchen. (Big bold fresh flavors. I loved the fresh dill sauce for my husband's salmon so much I kept dipping my chicken into it when he wasn't looking.) They are open for Breakfast, lunch and dinner so we will have to go back and try one of my lunch favorites: a Reuben. They have just opened and do not have their liquor license yet, but it is in the works, so have your wine before you go. This is a great place that you can have delicous food and not feel guilty. Unless you get dessert, They have some cool looking ones, but my all time favorite the Tres Leches Cake was sold out. So I will have to go back for that. read more

We were staying across the street and popped over for breakfast. Very good food. Very clean. Very nice waitress (though she didn't understand all we were saying, but was cute as we felt like we were overseas. ). Only thing was their sign is misleading by posting info about being Italian food when it seems like Brazilian. Though we had a basic American breakfast, not any of their dinners. It was a dead quiet Friday morning around 10 am when we arrived. We ordered the special 'avocado toast' as suggested by our waitress when we mentioned that we love avocado. We also shared an order of fresh fruit and the hash. The avocado toast was delicious, with little dots of sriracha sauce on top of the eggs, tomato, and avocado spread over the toast. We went here because another place we chose was seasonal but not listed that way on yelp. Best mistake ever! The staff here is so professional and polite. It's just a tiny spot off the road but my goodness. The food was amazing with our whole family eating the entirety of what was served. I have restrictions on my diet and they were very helpful and fixed a minor issue. So in turn my husband and I left them double the normal tip we would. Just excellent service, super polite, and the food is on point. Everyone should go here for breakfast. It deserves a sign that says hidden gem! We had an enjoyable dinner at the Grand Cafe. On this, our first visit we enjoyed very friendly, attentive and experienced wait service from our nice server who took care of our table of 5. We enjoyed: fried fish,chips & slaw (kids meal), chicken Parma, shellfish and pasta -- all of these dishes were served to us hot, seasoned nicely and were delicious. Dinner portions seemed to be a decent size for the prices. The dinner salads were a bit larger than average, crisp and fresh. They have a typical diner selection of beers and wine. Tables are neatly place set with cloth napkins. The dining area was well lit and clean. Restrooms found clean as well. Above all else the meal we had was very good. We are Looking forward to trying the Grand Cafe for breakfasts! read more

A great little place that we decided to try. Directly on RT 28, and it doesn't look like much on the outside, but don't let that fool you. What a nice surprise! My husband had Eggs Benedict with homefries, he said cooked perfectly and so much flavor. My son had a BLT with fries, came with fresh sliced tomatoes, lettuce and perfectly crisp bacon. The fries had sea salt sprinkled on them and were very tasty. I got banana pancakes, so light and fluffy, and delicious! All 3 of us with sodas, under $40. The waitress was pleasant and attentive.
