I had brunch with my friend's family here. The brunch menu selections are great. I ordered a Hangover breakfast which is really pretty good. The frequency that our server checked on us is perfect. Ambiance is nice to hang out with friends. If you want a decent breakfast at a nice restaurant, give this place a try.

What comes to mind when you hear the name JACKS? Most people probably think of JACK N JILL. However, I'd like to share a nice dining experience I had in the Newark Mall area, complete with excellent staff, attentive servers, and delicious food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently, I visited this location with some friends, and I was thoroughly impressed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. I had a wonderful breakfast brunch there today, and it was truly enjoyable. So, the next time you're in the Newark/Fremont area, make sure to visit JACKS--you won't be disappointed!
I came to Jacks with my wife family, the last night we were staying in Fremont. This place is near my wife aunt place and she wanted to come here before we leave to go home. We came close to closing time so the parking was easily to find and we got seated quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was not busy at all, with some guest inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the New York steak 10oz at medium rare and asked just for fries as my sides. My wife got the grilled salmon for her dish and her mom and aunt got the California burger. It took some time for our food to come outm My wife like her salmon and also her aunt with the burger since that's what she always get. My New York steak color didn't look appealing to me but they cooked it to medium rare like I requested. The steak was okay, I was more hungry than anything else. I finished it quick and was still hungry so I ordered some Hot Wings since it was happy hour price. I like the Hot wings more than my steak and I asked for no blue cheese. The issue I had while dining here was it took three attempts and 3 different people at the restaurant to finally get a refill on my soda. Our waitress disappeared, the waiter who brought our food never came back and it wasn't until the manager came to ask us how we were doing to finally give all of us a refill on our drinks.
Tried their new smash burger and Mac n cheese Smash burger was good but not really a smash burger im used to. Patties more on the thicker side but still flavorful and a thick filling burger. Mac and cheese was good too. I'm not much of a Mac and cheese person but this was good. Hints of sun-dried tomatoes and the chili flakes in their had a nice kick to balance out the richness overall good comfort style foods here
On July 25, 2026, Me and my lady I dined at Jack's Restaurant, and unfortunately our experience with our server, who I believe was named Mariah, was disappointing. From the beginning of our meal, we noticed that we were not provided water like the other tables around us. Throughout our visit, the server's tone toward us felt dismissive and unfriendly. Whenever she spoke to us, she seemed to have an attitude, while we observed her interacting with other customers in a much friendlier and more respectful manner. At the end of our meal, when we were ready to pay, we waited approximately 15 minutes before she returned to process our payment. But by then I had to ask someone else to pay We understand that restaurants can get busy, but we expect to be treated with the same level of courtesy and service as every other guest. We hope this feedback is taken seriously so future customers receive consistent and respectful service.
We came into town for a family reunion and decided to try out this place for dinner. They have nice people working here. He got here a little before happy hour ended so they got our drinks and appetizers in before it ended. That was so nice. There was a lot to choose from the menu but I went with some Greek appetizers and my mom and uncle got the pasta dish. My aunt got the grilled salmon salad and she said it was really good. All of the food was absolutely delicious. We shared the appetizers and had a great time. All of the staff are very attentive, we didn't feel neglected at all. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed them yet. Their service has been pretty friendly each time we've gone. Our sick kid wanted comfort food and when he thought of mac & cheese, he immediately thought of Jack's. He really likes their bacon mac & cheese. Plenty of parking because the mall is basically empty aside from the few restaurants and 24 hr. fitness. Pretty clean environment and restrooms. Decent number of tvs to watch at the bar. Covered outdoor area is nice too. Kitchen has open windows so you can watch them cook.
I finally went back to Jack's after several years (pre-covid time) and was inspired to give the lunch menu a try after ordering breakfast take out at the Saratoga location a month ago. This location is fairly large and the vibe is great! Excellent ambiance with lots of Christmas trees all around. The bar area is very inviting as well. We were seated promptly on a Sunday afternoon and greeted genuinely by Fee (spelling?) and also served by Amani. Fee was all smiles and we loved her positive attitude. She recommend the calamari and I knew we'd have to order that. Huge portion! Eats: *Calamari *Catfish Po' Boy + mixed green salad & ranch *Tuna Melt + fries *Patty Melt + fries I was debating between the first two and chose the po' boy-- best decision ever! Huge filet of panko crusted catfish, chilled cole slaw, and ciabatta bun toasted to perfection. Salad was a refreshing addition after the indulgent crispy calamari! They serve breakfast until 2pm and I've had the bananas foster French toast from Saratoga. It's amazing! Gonna get that next time when dining in. Happy Hour looks good too! Monday to Friday, 3pm-6pm, 8pm-close at the bar area. Parking has never been an issue. Lots of people enjoy Jack's and now I'm one of them!
From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. The hostess stand was so kind and patient with our 80-year-old mom, allowing her time to decide what temperature and seating area would be most comfortable for her, inside or outside. That level of care really stood out. Our server, Alysa M, was fantastic. She immediately offered thoughtful suggestions for both drinks and meals, was knowledgeable about the menu, friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient throughout the entire experience. The food was absolutely delicious. My brother and I both ordered the steak, and our mom had the Sautéed Petrale Sole. She is usually a very light eater, but she completely devoured her meal, which says everything! We left very impressed with both the food and the hospitality. We will definitely be back.
Located on the outside of the mall with plenty of parking . Went on a Friday night with no wait time . Had heated outside area but choose to sit inside due to it was way to loud outside . Our server Chris was very attentive and very friendly . Everyone kept checking on the guest and all seemed very professional and alert . Portions were large and pricing is average for today's food. Food was delicious and filling. Had the Moscow mule which was very refreshing unfortunately didn't have any flavors but no problems. 100% recommend and will go again. Bonus is movie theater next door so makes it perfect location for a dinner and movie night.
Food: Lamb burger (with french fries) Was the flavor of a gyro but in burger form. Would order this again. Service: Had some bigger tables (or areas to push together) as we had a big-ish party which also included babies. The wait staff had good "handles" in lifting plates and stuff, going between kids, nicely done.
My first experience here was excellent! We ordered the sausage breakfast, tuna melt w/ garlic fried , meatloaf sandwich w/onion rings , beef barley soup and cheesecake. everything was good but my favorite was the barely soup and the tuna melt . Tuna melt bread had a soft butter crispy crust and the flavor of the tuna was perfect . I enjoyed the onion rings especially with the dipping sauce . For starters we had the Beef and barely soup and that's when I knew I was going to like this place . I could have just ate the soup and would have been satisfied.. the soup was very tasty . My only complaint would be that the meatloaf sandwich could have used some cheese and a little mayo but other than that it was good . So I thought I was finished eating but my server Alysa somehow convinced us to order dessert lol . I had a really good experience, I have no complaints other than I had to unbutton my pants when I got in the car . I would like to shout out my server for being very attentive and making food suggestions considering it being our first time here .. I definitely will be back , especially for happy hour .

This review is a couple of weeks late. We were visiting from out of town. This was the first place we saw that looked nice and clean. The hosts in the front were kind of rude and ignored us at first. I asked if there was a wait, one host said it was about 20-25 mins. They were pretty busy during lunch. The tables and chairs were spread out at a safe distance . They weren't offering dining inside, it was all outside. I felt bad for the servers because they had to walk so far to our table. Our server was very friendly and somewhat attentive. I felt he was a little distracted a couple of times while he was telling us about the menu. Then he got to talking to us about the whole Covid issue and the weather. But other than that he was nice and got our order right. Our food was really good. For starters, we ordered the coconut shrimp. It was ok, and a bit small. The coconut flavor didn't overpower the shrimp. I don't think it's something we would order again. I got the Fish-N-Chips, my husband ordered Code Bleu Burger with garlic fries and my daughter ordered a kids burger with fries. My fish was really good. It was a bit oily but the flavor and texture was good. It didn't taste fishy. I would probably order that again. My husband and daughter really enjoyed their burgers. They said they want to come back the next time we visit. When we walked into the restaurant to use the restrooms, the place was pretty big and it was clean the bathrooms were very clean as well. Staff were very busy working so we saw them going in and out of the restaurant. It was a nice visit and lunch. read more
We had dinner here the other night. The wait was a bit much and it seemed like they were under staffed. We had an infant baby with us and they decided to sit us at the high top chairs near the bar for some reason, with a car seat??? But i did not want to make it an issue and just went with it. Our server was on point, major props him (young African American gentleman) didn't catch his name. He was busy running back and forth taking care of the bar area. I ordered the petrole sole, quality of the fish could've been a bit fresher. Overall the veggies and mash it came with were good. We also ordered the rigatoni di pollo. It was a bit bland and just has thick tomatoes and a thick sauce. Wasn't really a sauce. The wedge and spanikopita were on point. Maybe I'll try this place another time and up the stars. read more
I was so glad that during this pandemic time this was open. It was my son's birthday and we ordered our food from this place. We all enjoyed the food, customer service as well. We called to give the order and within 25 minutes we were able to pick up from the parking lot and we didn't even had to get out of our car. Our waiter was super kind, her name was Felicia. I've gone to this restaurant multiple times before and I always have a lot of fun with the waiters. They're super sweet. The ambiance of the restaurant is very peaceful and it's a beautiful place. I love the food so much. I always get the angel hair pomodoro or the spaghetti carbonara. October 2020 Review (Covid 19) Came here on a Saturday for brunch with a party of 5 and waited about 15 minutes to get seated (no reservation). They currently have both indoor and outdoor seating, and they are pretty well spaced out for social distancing. Service was also amazing and food was delicious! I ordered the Monterey Omelette and a Mimosa and the total was $30 after tax and tip. The waiter gave us a recommendation of adding feta to the omelette and holyyyy it was so good. I got the Monterey Scramble and thought it was good. The chicken was a little dry, but the other flavors made up for it. I also got a margarita with my meal, which completed it. Although the menu says they don't serve breakfast burritos on weekends, it appears they do as two of my friends ordered them. Making this place a perfect lunch spot. My favorite order is definitely the buffalo chicken salad and I also really enjoy their oregano fries a whole lot. We generally takeout but decided this girls pre-Christmas get together should be at some place with nice ambience. Jack's is definitely one of the nicer establishments in the East Bay. Wait for our food was a little long, but, once the first entree came out, the rest quickly followed suit. We ordered a variety to share. My favorite were the pancakes. Warm and fluffy, you can't replicate that with takeout. read more

TAKEOUT REVIEW: This was our first time trying Jack's, and we really like their food. However, there were a couple of hiccups that subtracted a star from their rating. After ordering online, we get instructions to call this phone number for curbside pickup. But when we called the number it went to voicemail, so we had to go inside to pick up our food, which isn't the end of the world. When we got home, we realize that the salad we ordered was missing, and our receipt showed we were charged for it. We definitely didn't want to drive back, so we just let it go, but wished we weren't so generous with the tip (which you pay at time of ordering). We were, however, impressed with the food... + Italian pasta - rigatoni with Italian sausage, mushrooms, and cheese. It was a little greasy, but still very yummy. + Fried chicken sandwich - wow, this is big. The chicken was probably sticking out of the sesame seed bun about 1-2 from all sides. There some relish sauce that has a bit of kick to it. It was very good. There are also several sides that you can choose from. I chose the coleslaw and it was very good as well. It was crunchy, tangy, with a hint of sweetness. We'll definitely be back, but will be sure to check our food before leaving the restaurant. read more

I've been here a couple times and every time the food is bomb! The service here is also fast and friendly. We ordered the chili nachos, sunset blvd burger and the California Mac. The chili nachos has fresh crunchy chips and plenty of toppings. This is a filling and big appetizer! The sunset blvd burger kind of reminds me of the Santa Barbara burger from Habit. They give a hefty serving of fries every time. Lastly, the California Mac was very oozy and cheesy. Super rich and filling. I wish there was a bit more chicken in it though. The food here at Jack's is great quality and great value. Almost every time I eat here, I have leftovers to bring back. Also, the restaurant is very spacious and extravagant looking. We came here to celebrate our friend's engagement, but I have also been here for happy hour with co-workers. I like that since it's part of the mall there is always a lot of parking available. It is also a newer restaurant so everything inside and outside looks clean and modern. They have a great selection of appetizers and cocktails, as well as nonalcoholic beverages. The service was solid both times I came. Pricing is average for the Bay Area (similar to a Cheesecake Factory or Lazy Dog-type restaurant). My friends really liked their coffee dessert cocktails and my sangria was delicious. They had a lot of nice dessert options too (we ordered the cheesecake and tuxedo cake). The only minus was that the polenta (vegetarian) was not as flavorful as I would have liked; it felt like it was missing something. But all in all I would definitely come back for another group gathering. read more

I am a regular here. I've been here for lunch, dinner, and happy hour. I love Jacks. It's one of if not the best place to eat in Newark. They have Mediterranean inspired dishes and all the comfort food favorites. It's almost always crowded so come early. The service is good and the food comes out fast. Oh boy, do these guys have a great menu! I wish I lived closer so I could make this one of my regular eateries. American style food with a Mediterranean flair, I really enjoyed this place. My friend is of Greek heritage (1st gen American) and she raved about their lamb and Avgolemono soup. Although I didn't try the lamb, she says it is phenomenal. She ordered a cup of the soup for me to try and is was so delicious! She said the flavor is exactly like her Greek mother's soup. It's just a little thinner consistency, but brings back good memories for her. Wonderful lemon flavor, tasty comfort food. I had The Wrap with a side of fries and it was really good. Fresh grilled veggies and I added grilled chicken, which was tender and juicy. The only thing about wraps that I'm not crazy about, is that they're made so big that they get a little messy and hard to eat, but this is a universal downer, not unique to Jack's. But you get a nice big meal, and for me a second meal because there was enough for two! My friend had the Petrale Sole with spinach and these wedge fries with feta, olive oil and garlic on top. These were to die for!!!! They have an extensive menu and well as a nice selection of drinks. Staff are really friendly and everyone was doing all the great things to keep people distanced and tables etc clean. Outdoor seating was lovely and made for a good lunch experience. read more
It's at the mall but don't consider this normal mall food court food. It's a very good standalone restaurant that just happens to be connected to the mall, it's right outside so it won't feel like you are eating inside the mall. The parking lot is huge but it can get crowded because of the mall shoppers. I loved the food at jacks and would come back to eat here. Onion rings, had a beer taste in the batter and were perfectly fried and crispy. We ate the whole plate. The seafood pasta was surprising, noodles were very good and I loved the sauce. Would repeat order it again. Steak was a decent steak my mom got. She enjoyed it and the vegetables and fries it came with. read more
