We just had an INCREDIBLE dinner! An absolutely fabulous filet mignon, and my partner had a surf and turf. Not only was everything delicious, but the service was above and beyond. On June 3, 2026 I made a reservation for a party of four via OpenTable at 5:15pm. We had just flown in for my husband's mother's memorial service. My husband is a 100% disabled, 25-year Navy SEAL veteran who suffers from PTSD and has a legitimate psychiatric service dog. Upon arrival we informed the hostess we had a service dog. She offered outdoor seating and we politely requested inside, which is our legal right under the ADA. She began to seat us in a section with no other customers present. The owner, Saki Kavouniaris, then entered and aggressively told us we could not eat inside and that if we wanted to eat there we needed to go outside. We calmly explained that this is a certified service dog and that refusing entry is not allowed per ADA. As I began to present documentation (which is not legally required but which we had already prepared with the airline) he abruptly interrupted and stated, and I am quoting directly: "I don't give a F who he is. I'm a Greek Navy SEAL. I had a dog in here that made a mess and I had to clean it up. You can't eat here. You want to eat here, go outside." When I asked his name he replied "It doesn't matter what my F'ing name is." I calmly informed him I would be reporting the incident and left. He continued with additional profanity as I walked out. I am grateful my husband and his family were already outside and did not witness this exchange. The hostess was present for the entire incident. This is not an isolated occurrence and public reviews document similar treatment of other guests by this owner. We are filing formal complaints with the U.S. Department of Justice under the ADA, the California Civil Rights Department under the Unruh Civil Rights Act, and have retained legal counsel. A veteran who served this country for 25 years deserved basic human dignity. He did not receive it here. read more

We won't be returning. There were a few positives. The Wild Mushroom Rigatoni with chicken was flavorful and well-prepared. The food and service here is impressive! Inside is super nice, clean and has a sleek modern look. Absolutely love this place. We came on a Friday night and sat in the bar area. They had a musician who was singing and playing all the instruments, he had the best vibes. Great selection of music and great energy! Made the whole place had fun happy vibes. Now our service was on top of everything! Water refills as soon as our cups got low, cleaning empty plates right away. They bag the food up for you too. The food is absolutely amazing! It has been years since I've been to Spin a Yarn. We used to frequent it when we loaded in the area. I was worried since I heard there were changes but it certainly was worth the return. Ambiance was great. The food was made really well. I had the Wild Salmon with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Salmon was tender and made to perfection. My sister had the special, Swordfish, and that was, also, flavorful, made perfectly. Unfortunately, nobody had the steak this time. Hands down, one of the most epic nights out we've ever had! If you're anywhere near Warm Springs, CA, drop everything and get yourself to Spin-A-Yarn Steakhouse for their Comedy Night. This place is a hidden gem that delivers on EVERY level: jaw-dropping food, killer service, and laugh-till-you-cry entertainment. We kicked off with their specials and... Oh. My. God. We started off with Oysters Rockefeller. The waiter suggested a splash of Tabasco to add a touch of spice. They were the bomb: hot, delicious, cheesy and well garnished with spinach. My giant veal chop was a massive, perfectly seared beast, served with roasted mixed veggies and creamy mashed potatoes swimming in rich mushroom gravy. My partner went for the prime rib--tender, juicy, and cooked to absolute perfection, with a loaded baked potato and fresh veggies on the side, plus spicy horseradish and piping hot au jus. I've provided some pics to showcase these amazing dishes. We paired it perfectly: she sipped strawberry daiquiris, I started with a smooth glass of pinot noir, then cruised into IPAs for the laughs and crisp Modelos for the after show. The host, Jeremey Curry, warmed up the crowd for four comedians. Headliner Ellis Rodriguez and the whole crew had the entire room in stitches. Bryant Hicks was a strong opener for Ellis with headliner vibes. We laughed our asses off... and got pulled into the show! One comic riffed on being invited to hang with "white folk" and throwing axes, scanned the crowd, locked eyes with me, and hit me with: "Of course this mother fucker has... look at this Viking fucker right here!" (Guilty as charged--long white hair, long white beard, the whole Norse vibe). The crowd lost it, and honestly, it made the night legendary. But it didn't end there. There was still live music in the main room by the bar. They were unironically playing the 'white anthems' mentioned by one of the comics during their bit (Sweet Caroline and Don't Stop Believing). After a few songs, we spilled out onto the awesome patio, fired up some smokes, sipped a few Modelos straight from the tap, and just vibed--chatting and cracking up with two of the comics till late. Pure magic. The comedy crowd energy and post-show hangout vibes were unforgettable. And yes, that patio is exactly the perfect chill spot for hanging out with friends on those cool spring nights. Although I've lived a large part of my life in Fremont, I've never been to Spin A Yarn Restaurant- until yesterday! Even with a big sign, it's somehow easy to miss. Regardless, they have a private parking lot that is quite spacious. Even on a busy Wednesday evening, I was able to find parking easily. The restaurant is very cute. It has that classic, low-key, homey feel to it. It's a little dark and chill, which is what I like. They were very busy last night but we were seated immediately. A nice table for two that was just the right size near the firewall area. Our server was very nice, attentive, fast and informative. She was able to answer all of our questions without any hesitation; she really knew her menu. The food was magnificent. I ordered the eggplant parmesan which comes with a side of mashed potatoes and veggies. It was a good portion size and filled me up without feeling heavy. The bread brought to the table when first seated was to die for. We had a couple of glasses of wine that we thoroughly enjoyed. The server comes back and refills your glass from a separate, smaller glass on the table. That was pretty cool. Overall, I had a great experience here. The service was good. The food was good. The prime rib here was amazing. I asked for English cut and they were able to do it. Now I don't have to drive all the way to house of prime rib anymore. Taste the same, so yummy! They have a large parking lot so parking shouldn't be an issue as well. The Restaurant itself was decorated very nicely for the holiday season and it was very lively inside. Lots of people at the bar enjoying themselves and everyone smiling and having a good time. I think there is definitely good vibes there if you choose to eat inside. Even though I was doing a to-go order, I thought everyone was very friendly and they made the process of picking up pleasant. [[ Food ]] As the TL;DR stated, the food is just alright. You can get variations of the same food at other restaurants that taste so much better. (E.g., House of Prime Rib has WAYY better prime rib than here). We ordered the following: 1.) Appetizers - Crab Cake 2.) Appetizer - Calamari 3.) Entree - Lamb Shank 4.) Entree - Prime Rib (market price) 5.) Sides - Mac & Cheese 6.) Sides - Garlic Fries The only thing I would order again here from all of the above is the Crab Cake. Even though you only get 1 Crab Cake for for $18, their Old Bay Mayo sauce for it and the actual Crab Cake itself was delicious. The rest, again, just tasted normal. The flavors were all there for each dish but there was nothing special about them and felt like it could have blended in at any other restaurant which is not great. You won't be disappointed by the food itself but nothing really stood out. The restaurant also tacks on a 4% state surcharge on your bill to keep up with the high COL. If you aren't a big fan of these "extra" charges, just giving you a heads up about it now. Walked in not sure of what to expect on a Saturday night. All the reviews were good. Would we be underdressed? We saw ladies with dresses and men with shirt and ties. Caeser salad was perfect. They split it for us Rigatoni was average for sauce flavor. Scalloped potatoes were nice. Surf and turf was plentiful and cooked to order. They included steak sauce and butter for the prawns that looked like small lobster tails. Dessert was great as well. Tiramisu and cheesecake. Plus coffee. At this point we were so stuffed. Boxed up half of my dinner plate to take home. While dining was quiet and private, it hit a point when music and live singing began. The inside is more spacious than it looks and there's plenty of parking behind the building. We had our own party/conference room and there was a set dinner menu for us to choose from. The room had its own tv and speakers so I assume they host a lot of events. -Ceasar salad: can't go wrong with this classic salad! -Short rib: amazing presentation and HUGE portion, the meat was so tender that it fell right off the bone, mashed potatoes were super buttery and creamy -Tiramisu: perfect ratio of ladyfingers to mascarpone cream, not too sweet There were several other items on the menu that looked good. We had a 6P Rez on a Thursday and it was not too busy which was nice for us in doing a ton of catch up. We had a lovely booth and received 5 star friendly service from Keith! Our party of four adults and two children showed up about 6 on a Saturday night. We were quickly seated and the adult drink orders were taken and the children were given crayons and special drinks. We had called ahead to be sure there was seating so they prepared for us. Our waiter had excellent skills to serve the children and was very attentive to us adults too! Beautiful atmosphere and loved the variety of small rooms so it was easier to have conversations rather than one large dining room. Food was pretty good. We went for the mother brunch and it was beautiful with a nice spread. It is 67.00 per adult and 30.00 per kids under 12. The prime rib stole the show. It was moist and tender and cooked to perfection. The other sides and the other foods were alright. The Benedict simply had ham nothing too special. There are things in the buffet that needs to be labeled. There were dishes with gravy and I had no clue what I was eating. The dessert table was huge but none of the cakes were outstanding.
