I'm so glad we found this little gem while searching for a great burger in downtown Greenville!…read more This small burger joint, tucked just off the main street, completely exceeded our expectations. Everything is made from scratch; from the fresh burger patties and soft, homemade buns to the delicious pralines they hand out as a sweet palate cleanser at the end of your meal. You can absolutely taste the difference. The restaurant is small with limited seating (first come, first served), with seating along the windows and down the side, and a couple of outdoor tables. You order at the counter, grab your number, and then find a seat. Even though it's a casual, fast-service restaurant, the hospitality was anything but ordinary. We were greeted the moment we walked in by the sweetest older gentleman whose genuine Southern hospitality made us feel so welcome. He even stopped by to chat with us during our meal, making the whole experience feel warm and personal. The food was outstanding! My burger was cooked perfectly....juicy, flavorful, and served on one of the best hamburger buns I've ever had. It was incredibly soft but somehow never got soggy or fell apart, even with all the cheese and sauce. They offer about 10 different flavor options for burgers. They even offer grilled chicken sandwiches and Open face burgers. I ordered the Sawyer Burger ($13.95), topped with chili garlic glazed pork belly, Asian slaw, and crispy onion straws. It was absolutely delicious and well worth the price considering the quality and generous portion. The fries deserve their own review! So many burger places treat fries as an afterthought, but not here. The portions are huge and perfectly seasoned. I chose the Buffalo Blue Cheese fries, and they were packed with flavor. I wish I'd had room to try the Parmesan fries, which sounded like a customer favorite. Even the tiny bathroom was charming, covered in funny and quirky signs that made me smile. If I lived in Greenville, I'd definitely become a regular. Amazing food, generous portions, homemade quality, friendly service, and true Southern hospitality. I can't recommend this place enough!

I've been a few times and as a Greek, enjoy this restaurant…read more The restaurant is clean, and the decor is authentic. I think the menu offers quite a bit and overall the food it tasty. The one thing I would offer as constructive criticism is really watch the amount of dry oregano you add after the fact. Most of what we received had more than a dusting, which isn't pleasant with dried herbs. (Note, I love oregano and cook with it all the time. This was just excessive). The other thing I would note is there isn't that spirit of hospitality when you are there, which is what the Greeks are known for. Service was I'd say a bit below average- for example, we ordered a bunch of appetizers, and were done with quite a bit of it. When our food came out the waitress tried to deliver all the food on an already crowded table. We had to ask her to remove the dirty, empty plates first. We also had people run out of water, and she never came back to refill. The other thing was it was clearly a celebratory dinner. It would have been nice to at least ask what was going on. Not looking for anything, but typically a server would at least chat you up. All that said, we will be back and recommend this place to others. Would just recommend tasting the food before it does out to make sure its not caked with dried oregano, and bring a little more of that Greek spirit to the business.

Burgers? PEAK. Service? 10/10. Ambiance? Chill bar-vibes…read more We had the most amazing waitress, Cadence, and she took amazing care of us!! A very unfortunate skydiving spider took a dip in my friend's dipping sauce and she, along with another male worker whose name I didn't get, got us a replacement quickly. Cadence was chatty and friendly, very likable and comfortable to be around. Legit I'd come back just for her! Ask her about her cats & you're fast friends. I particularly appreciated how she handled giving out food & making sure we didn't get our fingers burnt by hot plates! I was hugely impressed by the gluten free burger bun, it tasted very good and as a texture junkie I approve of the texture. It was so nice to have a real, not lettuce wrapped burger for once! The only real negative was the seating arrangement on the patio had us with our backs literally against a rowdy group that were talking in a pretty vulgar manner, as is expected with a bar environment. For that reason I wouldn't recommend it for families with younger children. They were balanced out by a very friendly neighboring table, however, that took a picture for us! Thank you Grill Marks, if I'm ever nearby again I'll be back! Fan for life.

I love that they constantly have new menu items and features so you can keep coming back again and again for something new. This last time, I ordered some sweet potato pancakes (that must have been a special because I can't find them on the menu now) and they were SO GOOD!!! They had nuts in them and they were not too sweet which was surprising in the best way. My wife got the classic chicken and waffles and loved them and our 3rd wheel got an omelet. He cleaned the plate so we know it was realllll good. We also got the fried okra as an app for the table and we were all big fans. The sauce took them over the top on flavor. Right by Fluor Field with a fun, lively vibe. We sat outside, which was clean, comfortable, and a great spot to hang out before an event. Service was fantastic. David, our server, was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable, and really helped elevate the experience. For food, we started with the wings (dry rub and Jamaican jerk). The flavors were decent, but the wings themselves were rubbery and a bit underwhelming, especially considering the price point. One standout though... the ranch dressing. Easily some of the best I've had. The breakfast tacos were good overall, and the chimichurri was fresh and flavorful. I think adding a creamy component would have taken them up another level. The sweet potato fries were fantastic. The chicken and biscuit was decent. The Nashville-style chicken had good flavor, but the tenders were on the smaller side, making the portion feel a bit lacking. The biscuit itself was solid. The tallow fries were also well done, and the Lefty's sauce was a nice addition. One unique touch at the end. You're given the option to send a postcard, and they handle the postage and mailing for you. A really fun and memorable detail. Overall, a good spot with great service and atmosphere, though some of the food execution and portion sizes could be improved.
