I went to see Brandi for a surprise facial as it was gifted to me so I didn't know what to expect. My face, body and soul were in pure bliss. I love that it's a privately owned little boutique so it feels very personal. You are the one and only focus for your appointment. It's simple and clean while luxurious and relaxing at the same time. The room smelled so good, music was perfectly calming and the blankets so plush and buttery. I came across Jade & Myrrh Aesthetics (Studio #11) on Livingsocial and took a chance on buying three eyebrow waxing sessions without even going through just one session with Owner Brandi Haugabook first. I'm so glad I took the risk, whew! Jade & Myrrh Aesthetics (Studio #11) is located inside Sola Salon Studios on The Shops on Lake Avenue in Pasadena. They are right next to Mattress Firm and right across from Ross. Her establishment is beautiful, clean and very zen. If you're the Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) type like me, you'll love it here! Parking: You can park in The Shops on Lake Avenue and walk over to Sola Salon Studios. Booking: Online, very easy! If you have a Livingsocial or Groupon, just note it in comments when booking your appointment. You will still need to put down your credit card to reserve your spot though, or you can call her directly. Brandi was a pleasure to work with! She's sweet, charming and easy to talk to. My first (of three) 30mins eyebrow waxing session was fun, relaxing and blissful. Once Brandi had me lied down and turned on some spa music, she gave me a hand-held mirror to hold onto, and quickly cleansed my eyebrows before mapping them out. Afterwards, she had me hold up the mirror while explaining to me where my eyebrows should start, end and where the arches should be. It was cool learning this since I never had it done before and my eyebrows passed with flying colors, yay! I'm pretty good at maintaining them (tweezing away the stray hairs underneath my eyebrows and trying to stay within the shape of them). However, when it comes to waxing and trimming, I leave that to the pros. Brandi complimented me that I did a great job with maintaining them. She then worked her magic with the cleaning them up. I loved that she's meticulous and gentle, especially, when applying the wax and stripping them off. It didn't hurt at all and I also loved that she explained to me the steps along the way as well as letting me check out her work first before proceeding with the final waxing. Afterwards, she brushed my eyebrows and trimmed them up neatly. She also repeated the process of letting me look at it first before trimming the other eyebrow. Once she was done, I loved my new eyebrows! I felt like a brand new woman afterwards too! Restroom: Women's restroom is located at the end of the hallway on your left. No code is needed. It's spacious, clean and nicely stocked. Overall, I was very pleased with my first session and looking forward to becoming a loyal patron after my next two sessions are done. Brandi works magic! I've been getting facials from her for years. I'm really picky about who gives me a facial. They have to really know their stuff. When I first met her, my face was a mess. I had a lot of acne. She not only cleared my face with the facial, but she taught me about facial products (organic and effective) and how to take care of my face. Ever since I met her, my face has been clear of acne. She now helps me maintain and keep my face from aging :). She's so knowledgeable and shares info and advice about organic products and living healthy. She's brilliant. My teenagers go to her often. She has a great rapport with them. Brandi has a wonderful, calm and friendly vibe and ensures you have a relaxing and pampered experience. Her massages are the best and that's not even the main attraction! I walked up to Sola Salons and from the minute I walked through Jade and Myrrh's door it felt like a whole new world. The space is decorated so nicely and feels prepared just for me for the hour (or more). Brandi greeted me with the sweetest, warmest smile. She had a place to put my belongings, fresh bottled water, and handed me a soft towel to put on over my upper body. Then she gave me the privacy needed to slip into her cozy bed where she would work her magic! Brandi then gave me a thorough consultation on my type of skin as well as my wants, needs, and expectations for my skin. She went to work right away and was so gentle and relaxing the entirety of the time; it was exactly what I needed to treat myself after a long week of studying and stress. First off my whole family sees Brandi ( yes there's only 3 of us but that's not the point lol) my honey is gonna be 50 in December and comes out literally looking ALMOST as young as me lol... he is literally glowing after his facials .
