Wow! Night and day difference between this dealership and the one in San Jose! We were greeted straight away by Cynthia with a smile and a chat. She immediately grabbed Adam and George who were both lovely to us. George took us for a test drive and gave us all the specs of the Land Rover Discovery Sport we were looking at. I haven't written a negative review before but will now to alert potential buyers about fraudulent practices of Jaguar Land Rover Monterey (JLRM). I have been a Jaguar/ Land Rover brand loyalist for over 20 years. Until now. I purchased a new Jag in June 2018 and did a lease return. The transaction was fine until I received notice that the lease return wasn't done correctly or timely - months later in fact due to "paperwork issues on their side" - resulting in a claim that I owed significant money due to vehicle damages incurred - while the vehicle was in their possession. Long story short, JLRM management jerked me around for months and mismanaged my case. Now we are in litigation. Don't take it from me though - take it from Oscar E. - the General Manager of JLRM on Monday - Quote "Customer service was much better a year ago. Unfortunately, Jag Land Rover lost $4B last year due to over extended R&D and the Chinese market dried up. In addition, we've been plagued with sunroof issues on the F-Pace with suits. So the customer service you've experienced with the brand in times past is no more". RUN from this dealership including the clowns that run it - Stuart Kerr and Oscar E. I tried to gain resolution from Sam Linder but was told first that he "was out of the country" and then another time "he's in the hospital". So obviously there is no Sam Linder or hope for management oversight of this deplorable dealership. Recommend you rethink your brand as I have. read more

Wow! The staff at Monterey Range Rover gave me the best car buying experience I ever had!!! I am a car lover and I go through more cars than I go through shoes. On average, I buy and sell a couple of high end cars a year. Cars like Maserati, range rovers, porsches, and ferraris. I have dealt with many dealers in Los Angeles and not to mention the sales people associated with all the transactions. On Thursday, I called Monterey ranger rover just to inquire. On Sunday morning, I was driving to Monterey from Los Angeles. Starting from chris, the salesperson to Ray the GM, and to the financial coordinator Charlie, the whole experience was nothing short of world class quality. Highly, highly recommend. I guess they sell enough cars here to just ignore, and let people walk away. First of all, we were walking around trying to figure out where the new inventory was located, and nobody came out to help. Once we figured out where to look, again, nobody came out. Finally some guy walks out, and asked if he could help. We went over the general info, and he started to be a little helpful. We talked about a few things, and then he suggested Volvo, a vehicle we hadn't thought of, so we all walked over to that vehicle. We were looking at it, and he excused himself to go get the keys. He never showed back up. We didn't rush anything, we probably kept looking around for another 20-30 minutes. Finally we were done. We are in the market for a new vehicle, and have narrowed it down to Range Rover, BMW, Infinity, or Audi. We are doing our homework, and had questions. The Range Rover is at the top of the list. Had this place given a damn at all, we may have bought one right then, and there. As it stands now, we will gladly go spend our money anywhere but here. It has even soured us on the Land Rover product itself, and may have helped us narrow it down a little more. Leaning towards the BMW now because they were respectful, and attentive. What can I say about Julian and Vincent that hasn't been said before? Julian handled everything with diplomacy, professionalism and finesse. I do appreciate all that he did for me right from the start! He even spent time with me on Mother's Day to assist me in deciding the right type of car for my needs. That impressed me so much! Okay, there was a slight snag in the delivery of my vehicle but Vincent took care of that in more ways than one. He went out of his way to make sure that I was happy. I had the most horrible experience with entire Jaguar Company. My car broke down because of faulty key fob, while I was vacationing in Monterey, CA. My car completely shut down and was not operable. It took two days for Jaguar roadside assistant and Monterey Jaguar service department to find a tow company to tow my car to this dealer. Service department told me that they had to request a new fob from Jaguar dealer in UK, and the key fob won't be shipped for two weeks. I had to return to Southern California since I lost two days of work. Jaguar service department refused to give me a loaner, nor accommodate me to rent a car to drive back home. Their service department basically told me that I am on my own. I called Jaguar corporate office, and they told me that I am on my own for cost of getting a rental, and won't promise to be reimbursed for the cost. Jaguar of Monterey just basically sent me back home with no help of getting home. I asked my friends who were with me during this horrible experience, to drive me back home. I am still waiting for from Jaguar corporate office to help me get a loaner or rental without me paying out of pocket. This car was a lease and I was expecting Jaguar to provide more professional service to me, during this difficult experience. I am paying $700 per month lease, to receive such unprofessional service from Jaguar company. Do not go to this location, Jaguar of Monterey, CA to buy or get a service. read more

The worst possible nightmare experience buying a vehicle! Between my sister and me, we have purchased 3 Land Rovers from this dealership. We both have spent $$ on servicing our vehicles there. I paid cash for a pre-owned LR on 8/3/15 and still do not have the title. The GM, Shannon, can't be bothered to assist. The bank says the lein was released in September and DMV is still waiting for the documents from the dealer. They sent a follow up letter and the GM claims they did everything and now he won't return my calls. I've had to contact a lawyer. BUYERS BEWARE! read more

The place service wise is the worst place ever to bring your car for repair. Dropped off my cars on a Friday and it's now Monday and they have not even taken a look at either one of my cars. Although they now on Tuesday said they aligned one of my cars but couldn't get the car into the acceptable specifications , but still wanted to charge me for a correct and complete alignment. NOTE: always ask for a printout of your alignment no matter the place you have gone too or demand not to pay. They have to prove they aligned your vehicle! Also this Service Department service writers act as if they were just hired, NOTE when I called about my cars one of the service writers told me my brake fluid was dirty and needed to be replaced when a few minutes later in the conversation he admitted they never had seen either car yet. I believe Ive seen a 20 20 special on car repair scams and tactics such as this. Beware of this particular dealer. Your better off going to a mom and pop repair shop. read more

I asked for a quote to special order a 2015 Range Rover Evoque. I received an immediate reply from Tim Gonzales the Internet Manager and Finance Manager. I first thought, "They're responsive! Great service!" But after the first email it was miserable. Multiple emails and calls just to get a response. I called to finalize the deal and he said he would call be back within an hour because he was with a customer. It's 3 weeks later and I'm still waiting. I live 2 hours away and I tried to give business to my hometown dealership since my parents still live in the area. I wasn't go to beg anyone to sell me a car. I told Jonathan exactly what I was looking for and the price range.....he made it happen! I drove all the way from San Jose to purchase the vehcile (Jaguar F Pace). Once I got to the dealership, the entire process took less then 30 minutes. The finance representative went over all the papework in less then 15 minutes, he had everything ready to go once I got there. And when that deal is signed for, they will ask you to please give them a positive review on Yelp so the sales team member will get his added bonus. But once you purchase the vehicle, "buyer beware", and i mean that because i got screwed by these guys. A month after owning my preowned vehicle which the ad described as "well maintained", I got a check engine light that has had me in to see the mechanic 6 times in 1.5 months with no resolution or fix and the mechanics I have seen seem to believe this was a pre existing issue. Additionally, the brakes which they replaced right before selling me the vehicle have been loud and noisy. I have reached out to the team members requesting any warranty on the parts for the brakes and rotors and been ignored. The 3 members of Sam Linder RangeRover that I interacted with prior to the sale were copied in on that email, not 1 response; however, we received quick responses during the sale process. The service advisor completely dropped the ball and his back up was even worse. They left us completely hanging late on a Friday afternoon with no communication, no return phone calls & extremely poorly handled after they realized they left us with no update & potentially (if we had not showed up) no car pick up for the weekend. We waited for a request for review from Land Rover corporate & never received one & therefore decided to post here. My wife and I had been shopping for the XF for about a week. This was our first European Sports car. We were really taken back by the arrogance of most of the Jaguar sales people in the SF Bay Area. We wanted a new 2013 in white with Barley interior. Livermore Jag said they did a search of California and there were none. Walnut Creek said they couldn't sell the V6 that we test drove. It might be available at the end of March though! WHAT??? Then we called Dan Baer at Monterey Jaguar. We are so happy we did! He texted photos of cars on his lot. He quoted aggressive prices over the phone. He offered to deliver the car to our home! WOW! This guy KNOWS customer service! He had many new 2013's in our color choice. They had different options as well. we decided to enjoy this experience and flew to Monterey. Dan picked us up at the airport and showed us cars! He really cared that we got what we wanted. We arrived about 50 minutes before closing, but Dan didn't care. He said they would stay open for us. The finance manager, Tim, stayed after hours to process the paperwork. It was fast and easy!
