We were visiting Montana on vacation and tried Jagz on a Tuesday. Waitress was Hailey and she was AMAZING. Went back on Thursday. Were there before our reservation time but still waited 20 minutes beyond our reservation time. After we'd waited an hour and ten minutes for food we went up to ask if we could just pay for our appetizers and drinks. Waitress pointed to our food, sitting in the window and said 'Your food is right there'. My husband told her we couldn't wait any longer and needed to leave, could we have it to go. She said 'we are training in them kitchen tonight'. With a slight attitude and no apology. It should be noted there were four in the kitchen. The guy came up to hand my husband the credit card machine and my husband asked him if we got a discount since the whole thing was such a mess. He simply said 'no'. We left and called to speak with a manager. She said first with an attitude that she had told us the problem and she wasn't sure what we wanted her to do about it. When we told her we wanted at least a partial discount for our troubles she said she had to call the head manager who was out of town. Drove five minutes to get to the place we were staying and our food was barely luke warm. She called me back and told me since we had left with our food they couldn't give a refund of any kind. The food was just ok but expensive. $100 for a family of four with three of those meals being cheeseburgers. The attitudes of the employees we encountered was beyond bad. We understand that things happen but to be rude to the customer is never ok. We shouldn't have had to ask for a discount, it should have been offered. We could have easily walked out and not even paid but we were trying to do the right thing. Most of my family members have worked in food service before and have never seen anything close to this level of disrespect. Beyond disappointed and we will never come back when we are in the area. read more

The service was a bit slower than I might have liked but the final product was worth the wait. My wife ordered the duck which zI tried. We both agree it was the best we've ever had. Melt in your mouth tender eit an exquisite cherry sauce. I had the Seafood Saute which also was excellent but what stood out were the scallops that were melt in your mouth tender and cooked perfection. Every employee I saw was moving very quickly, so I assume they were short-staffed thus the slower service. Well worth the wait in either case. read more

I was looking foreword to trying this place out. My wife and I walked in and the place was rather empty. I told the host that there would be two of us and they promptly seated us at a a little bistro style table, not much bigger than a 2 foot circle. I asked the kid that brought our bread out if we could get a larger table. And explained that there was absolutely no room to be able to add dinner plates on the table with our drinks plus the condiments that was already there. So he asked the host and he came back to the table to explain that every other table was reserved. I found that hard to believe knowing that I was in Kalispell Montana and there was only 5 tables occupied it the entire establishment. We got up and left. read more

We absolutely love going to Jagz. I usually order the duck with an incredible sauce. It melts in your mouth! The shrimp scampi and steak are also delicious. We love sitting near the beautiful wood fireplace, especially when we can watch the snow falling outside. The atmosphere in the sunken area by the fireplace is so cozy. Some of the wait staff are family members, and the whole place has a friendly family feeling. Jagz is the place we go to celebrate special occasions, and we've never been disappointed. read more

Four stars for service, not for food...We went for our Anniversary dinner, and would definitely recommend our server, Peggy. She was attentive and directed us to a lovely bottle of wine. However, the food, not so much :( my husband's porterhouse steak was under temp and we asked them to put it on the grill aagin for a minute or two and they must have put it in the microwave, because it came back over done with the edges curling up. I ordered the crab which was excellent, however the clarified butter was old and tasted freezer burnt. Let me start by saying, the food was excellent (ie, filet cooked nice and rare, scallops melted in your mouth etc) however the environment and atmosphere was not what I expected ... When I think of fine dining I assume there are white linen table cloths, "clean" and high end wine glasses and service. Pretty okay, the flowers didn't taste good though. The pasta wasn't the absolute best I've ever had there's just no fancy places in town. The green carpet is very questionable. Wallpaper, questionable. Also even though I'm still a child they won't let you order off the kids meal even though the steak on the kids meal is just the same size as the 8oz steak on the regular menu but the kids meal is cheaper. My wife and I ate dinner here on a Saturday night during a National Park vacation on the recommendation of a local. I had King Salmon with excellent cauliflower gratin soup with very tasty garlic mashed potatoes and my wife had an excellent chicken Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing. We asked if we could have a glass of wine while waiting....hostess said she would have someone get it "when they were available". We sat and waited. Asked again after 20 minutes. There was a waitress that went behind the bar 2 x to get drinks...it doesn't take that long to pour something for guests that are waiting. He should not be behind the bar and HE SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID WE WERE RUDE BECAUSE WE WERE NOT. This place is terrible. We have tried this 2x. The owner yelled for us to get out....GLADLY...YOU HAVE HORRIBLE SERVICE, YOUR HOSTESS IS TERRIBLE, and you SHOULD NOT HAVE AN 18 YEAR OLD TELLING PAYING CUSTOMERS THEY ARE RUDE WHEN THEt ARE NOT. Jazq bills itself as a fine dining establishment Montana style and I would agree. An ambitious menu offers steaks, pasta's, duck, quail, lobster, king crab and other seafood. Large room, seating about 100+ but was not very busy on the night we were there. The buffalo fillet I had was perfectly cooked as ordered (rare). Served with garlic mashed and mixed vegetables. We also had a mixed grill with a small buffalo fillet, quail and a duck breast. All very well prepared and tasty with the poultry served in a huckleberry sauce and the buffalo in a mushroom reduction. Nice wine list with good price range, some available by the glass. This was a great restaurant find! We're from out of state and were looking for a place that had buffalo steak. Jagz was the only place that had it on the menu and we were glad they did. The bacon wrapped buffalo filet was so tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The baked potato was also delicious. We enjoyed the steamed clams appetizer very much. My Mom was looking for a steak so we stopped in here and was pleased with all the menu options. Mom had the larger cut of prime rib which was a beautiful piece, my husband had the special which was halibut with a delicious sauce and I had a chicken and pasta. I just had tonight's special l: Opauca paca (pink snapper) with a shrimp sauce. Devine! I was not expecting this. A unique, out of the way spot next to the Kalispell airport. The sign says "Italian seafood, steaks & pasta". Not sure what I expected but was blown away by a fabulous dish. I will be back here again on my next trip To Kalispell. Looking at a cheesecake with blueberry sauce in front of me for desert. I think my infatuation will continue! read more

We have just returned from our first visit and were not impressed. My Husband's Clam Chowder was pretty nice. My salad had two small pieces of tomato, couple of slices of cucmber and red onion. The rest was lettuce. Home-made salad dressing, honey mustard was very nice. The croutons (no good restaurant would even think of putting those things on a salad) were like compressed sawdust. We both had the special of the day a parrot fish with what was supposed to be a lobster sauce with mushroom and shrimp. A few tiny shrimp, one piece of mushroom and fish that was over-cooked. There was next to no sauce. The fish could have certainly benefitted by some more sauce as it was so over-cooked.The vegetables were supposed to be a mixture of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. The carrots were 4 tiny slithers. You could not even describe the carrots as matchstick size. My husband had a baked potato with his fish. He prounced the potato the high light of the meal. As neither of us finished our food we decided to give dessert a try, something we do not normally do. We ordered Creme Brulee. This is one of my favorites or at least it was until tonight. It was the worst Creme Brulee I have ever had in my life and trust me I have eaten quite few over the years. It was like scrambled egg with a very sugary topping, not hard and crunchy like it is supposed to be. Dreadful. Our waiter whilst very pleasant spoke so fast we had to ask him to repeat everything and we are not deaf. The inside of the restaurant is a pleasant surprise as the outside is not impressive. Nice and cosy, but so dark we could hardly read the menu and when the bill came it took two of us to try and decipher it because of the poor light. We had our eyes tested recently and were pronounced A=OK. Our friends go to this restaurant on a regular basis and like it so maybe we had an unfortunate experience or the Chef had an off night. At some stage, in the future, we will give it another try, but they had better improve. At $68 (before tip) for that meal (no wine) it was totally unacceptable. read more

Our first visit with out-of-town guests, likely our last. Ribeye steak was a flop! Came out tepid as if it had sat for 5 or 10 minutes. It must have as everything else was just barely warm. Tough and inedible It did not resemble a ribeye. Certainly not a prime piece. We sent it back and asked for a small portion of prime rib which was overly salty and just barely edible. The vegetables would have been al dente except they were raw, All in all a very bad experience. read more

Made reservation for our 43rd anniversary. Seated promptly. Ordered porterhouse and buffalo filet. Meals arrived and filet was wrapped in bacon but this was not noted on menu. Sent it back. Arrived after almost done with porterhouse which was thin but cooked ok, but second filet was over cooked we suspect cooked to quickly, it was tough and gamey. Ate a few bites. Advised server who did not know not listed on menu, she advised manager but disappointed in response which was we said was ok when first received. We offered her the filet back. Server was busy with too many other tables or we would have told her sooner. Manager could have come out acknowledged bacon not listed on menu and our bad filet. Dampened our anniversary dinner for sure. We skipped desert and left. Not the experience we hoped for. Poor customer service, we won't be back. Too many other choices. Dining area needs a refresh, don't sit near second dining room as floor moves to up and down whenever anyone walked by. New credit card approval at table server hovered watching tip step before printing receipt. read more

We had dinner here on Saturday Feb 27, 2021. We were seated and place settings brought promptly. Our waiter arrived shortly after and took our drink orders. Our drinks and bread were brougt right away. Our waiter was soft spoken and hard to hear. I asked him a few questions about items on the menu and was told when asked about the seafood dish that he recommended that especially tonight since they had a very specfic amount of prime rib left so that would be my best choice tonigjt especially. He seemed like a nice kid, just very socially awkward. After this the service went downhill. Our drinks were never refilled, the girls bussing tables were very verbal how they had to clear several tables by themselves and voiced how unhappy they were. We also noticed as they should have been servicing the tables making sure all tables had drinks. They would walk right by and never ask if you needed anything. Our dinner salads were brought and my salad plate must have had a large crack in it as it left a puddle of salad dressing underneath the plate on the table. No one offered to wipe it up and continued to just place other plates on top of the mess. Our food was delivered and it was luke warm at best. We had to ask for drink refills, we were never checked on to see how our meal tasted or if we needed anything else. I was totally disappointed and really hoped the insufficient reviews were just a fluke. Probably would not eat here again as service was lacking big time. Really disappointed. read more

This place is a dive. The server/ manager is rude , and the kitchen was yelling rude comments at us for sending the raw steak back. It was a complete waste of time. When we arrived they did not want to sit us and kept ignoring the door. The kitchen was made because they didn't want to make food. Our steak was raw and we sent it back to be cooked longer and they started yelling rude comments and wouldn't stop. We felt uncomfortable and got up to go. I didn't finish my food or wine . The server/ manager was so mad she started causing and being rude to us to. Worst birthday dinner ever. This place is falling apart and needs to get some decent managers who can treat people right. read more

Tried this place based on the recommendation of the staff at the hotel where I am staying. What a great recommendation it was! The restaurant was very busy so we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. All of the food was outstanding. The rolls were fresh, the Caesar salad was excellent, the crab and lobster cakes were the best. My wife and I both had the sea bass special. I would highly recommend it to everyone. It was better than a lot of sea bass I get in Florida. We were too full for dessert but the creme brûlée looked good. If you are in the Kalispell area, I would definitely stop here for dinner. read more

My wife and I were out for day early Valentine's dinner. We had our kids at an event and I setup a reservation a couple days ago. We sat down at our table and had delayed interactions with our waitress. That's to be expected however an hour into our dinner, we still hadn't gotten our meal, I was walking to the restroom and a waitress, who turned out to be the incompetent manager, with a tray full of large cups of beer and other alcohol jetted out of the bar area and ran into me. Covering me in all types of alcohol, soaking my arm, shirt, and pants beyond just the outer layer of my clothes. My right shoes was filled with alcohol so much that the alcohol was sloshing back and forth. The manager offers "you need a couple of knapkins?" I said it would take much more than a couple and move to the restroom to attempt to clean myself up. It was useless, I was wearing brown pants. I reeked of alcohol and it looked like I urinated on myself. I left the bathroom to go to my table, humiliated as I walked past staring guests. I then Inform my wife of what happened, we asked for a manager and about 10 minutes later the same lady who ran into me showed up. She was noticeably non apologetic, but had nothing to say other than she was sorry. I know how that sounds but she truly didn't care and offered no help or true sincerity. I said we are leaving and she runs off, I had to flag her down to pay for our appetizer and truly she showed no care at all. I get accidents happen, and it was avoidable, but an accident nonetheless and would have been fine however her response and reaction was inexcusable. I wasn't looking for anything for free, and wanted to spend good money on a good meal and food evening with my wife but this "managers" rudeness was disgusting. I have eaten at restaurants hundreds of times and have never left a bad review, ever, even if we had delayed food or a less than desirable waitress, which happens and we are always in good humor. But the way this manager handled herself and the situation was abhorrent. I am truly disappointed in this manager, not the rest of the staff because they did well given how crowded it was. The manager, whom wouldn't give me her name even after I asked ruined what I and hoped would be a nice surprise of an evening for my wife and I. I am very disgusted, embarrassed, and disappointed. read more
