Oh, Jai Thai, how often I come to you for take out food while intoxicated. It always tastes good at the time then I feel like shit later. The phad Thai is pretty greasy as are most of the noodle dishes but the drunken noodles are good. I like the green curry too. I just think it's overpriced compared to other Thai places. Also, the service can be snappy at times. But I will still go here time after time because there are no other places in Fremont open till midnight with non bar food. read more

We went here for a late lunch. The place was not crowded and the service was fair. With so many good Thai places to go to in Seattle the competition is stiff, so a Thai restaurant is gonna have to blow my socks off in order to get my coveted 5 star rating . This is our favorite Thai restaurant, bar none! I've tried about 20 or so of their menu items and every one is delicious, I've never gotten anything that wasn't well above average and we're fans of Thai food. The spicing is spot on as is the veg in any stir fry. My favorite is their green curry which is better than any I've tasted. Satay skewers and crispy chicken wings are super apps. They offer both brown or white rice with your entrees. Nice atmosphere and the restaurant is a quiet place for conversation. Only negative is if you come by car, parking in the area can be pretty limited. Prices are also very inexpensive when you consider the high quality of their food (most entrees are about $10) read more

My boyfriend and I were seated at a table and it still had food on it like it hadn't been wiped down, but had fresh silverware and napkins laid out. When we got our appetizer, as the server was handing out plates she noticed one of them had caked food on it still and went back to grab new plates. Then mid way through eating I noticed I had a piece of chicken mixed in with my dish, when I had ordered tofu. We let the server know about it and she immediately went back and brought back a new dish without any apology. We were charged full price and left the restaurant feeling disappointed in both the service and cleanliness. The bathroom smells bad and is not clean. I think this one experience goes to show that Jai Thai is not a sanitary establishment and I will not be returning. The next day I had bad, bad stomach problems and I'm quick to blame it on Jai Thai from our experience and from reading other reviews on here. read more

We were part of a large group that had reservations on a weeknight. Not only was the waitress incredibly rude (we weren't all drinking, honey -- your eye rolling was quite obvious!), none of our meals came out at the same time. Some people were waiting almost 15 minutes after others were served. It wasn't crowded or busy in the slightest and there were four people on the cook line. As an added bonus, I got a case of mild food poisoning. Thanks, Jai Thai! Having eaten here once before, I now remember why I have been avoiding it. I will never eat here again, especially when there are a multitude of Thai options in Fremont. For example, Tawon Thai, where the staff is always super friendly and the food is consistently good. When I told a friend I had gotten sick from eating here, she said, "That's why I've banned that place!" Seems I'm not the only one. read more

At first, Jai Thai drew me in with a neighborhood-related discount at lunchtime. The food was adequate. They've recently discontinued that discount, but I abandoned frequent visits long ago due to having the poorest service of the 5 Thai restaurants in Fremont. I was tired of hunting down the wait staff in the kitchen to get my bill paid during lunchtime, dinnertime, or during late-night happy hour. For the second time last Fall, between the terrible service and finding a hair in my soup (!!!), I stated I hoped never to darken their doorstep again...even though that Country-Style Pad Thai isn't half-bad. Neither is the late-night Fisherman's soup, nor the N4 (Guay Tiew Num) Lunch Special with that abundance of Thai basil and cilantro. I miss those dishes, but I just can't go back. read more

EVERY time, without fail, I have been extremely disappointed with the service at the Fremont location. With large parties (3+), the food has always come out at different times. They have always been quite impolite and ignorant when it comes to "good service." and SLOW! With all of that said, however, the food is great. Their Phad Thai is superb, and takeout has no complaints! Go with a buddy or go somewhere else. Under no circumstance would I recommend going with a group of any size. read more

Generally good food, but I have a few things on my wish list: -I wish they had more vegetarian options. On the menu, there are only 3 or 4. It would be easy to make more of the dishes veg-friendly. - I wish they had a dedicated veg section of the menu (like Chantanee) so that I can be certain that they understand what vegetarian means (NO FISH SAUCE!) and they would prepare those dishes that way -I wish they were more more consistent about honoring special requests. Sometimes I ask for my food to be completely veg, and they clearly understand what I mean, write "vegan" on the receipt and container, and my food is vegan. Other times they act confused and I end up with food that tastes like fish sauce. I think the employees need a little more training on this (fairly common) request. read more

I like my Thai food with a lot of heat. Tonight my wife and I met a friend who has no tolerance for heat in her food. We ordered a starter salad and whereas I wanted some heat, we ordered it with "no heat" to make our friend happy. The salad came with about a 2-star heat level. She could not eat any of it. Also she ordered a glass of water with no ice. It had ice. Come on, please. This place cannot get water right, seriously? My dinner was a boring "white man's" take on Thai food. BTW, I am a white man, but I like my Thai food cooked in an authentic manner - not this place. We will not return. Came here with my husband and a friend last week after reading great reviews. What we weren't expecting was to be served completely RAW chicken. When our chicken satay came out my husband mentioned it looked funny and after a bite realized it was completely uncooked. As if they took it out of the fridge, plated it and served us. I really hate to post a negative review but I feel like I have to share this experience. I went to dinner here with a friend. When our meals arrived I noticed a funny smell but couldn't tell whether it was coming from his beef salad or my pad see eiuw with pork (sorry if I spelled that wrong). The food tasted okay but by the time I was finished eating my stomach started to hurt ever so slightly. I went to the bathroom and it was disgusting. It smelled badly, in one of the stalls the toilet tank cover sat on the toilet and I didn't bother looking closely to see what it was that was all over the floor. And did I mention how badly it smelled? It just was in a really bad state for a restaurant and I couldn't help but wonder how they could allow the bathroom in a food establishment to be so messy. Fortunately I didn't need to be in there more than a couple of minutes so I didn't worry about it. The real problem started when I left. That little tummy ache I had before I left the restaurant quickly became almost unbearable. I literally could barely stand up, let alone walk. And I was so nauseous. I just man managed to make it back home and to the bathroom before I started to throw up every last thing in my stomach. And still I kept throwing up. I was sick for days. Maybe it was the meat ( maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to dismiss that funny smell), or maybe it was the water. Who knows. All I know is I have no intention of going back there to find out. read more

I'm asian, I've had thai food in New York, San Fran, Seattle, LA, Vancouver and I love thai food. I'll try to keep this review as informative as possible. The restaurant takes red chili pepper flakes that you put on pizza (think the little red pepper packs you get at costco) and puts it on your dish depending on the # of stars you order. So why ask how hot you want it if you aren't going to cook it any spicier? Just leave the pepper flakes on the table for me to sprinkle on. The pad see eew was soggy (wok not hot enough syndrome), lacking the delicious browning you get when the noodles are cooked right. Because it was so soggy, the eggs also turned into a soggy used coffee grind texture instead of the chunks of eggs that are fried with the pad see ew flavors. Our massaman curry had a total of 3 small pieces of beef. Maybe I'm being too picky about the above observations, but you have to at least serve enough food right???!!! My girlfriend's excuse for the lack of quantity was that I shouldn't eat so much anyway. But being a devotee to pad see ew, she too was highly disappointed. read more

We were in the Fremont area and decided to get some Thai food. Randomly picked jai Thai. It was my hubby, 1 year old twins and I. We go seated immediately and proceeded to order. We got seafood drunken noodles, jai Thai chicken fried rice, fried tofu appetizer and panang curry. We got our appetizer first and it was absolutely horrible. It had fried tofu, broccoli, yam, carrot, and onion. It was coated sloppily with panko. It wasn't even lightly seasoned with salt!!! Straight up tasted like panko and oil. I was extremely hungry so I managed to control my hunger by forcing myself to eat this crap. Lucky the rest of our food came 5 minutes later. The panang and fried rice were good. My fav was the drunken noodle but I ordered it with seafood but when it was brought to our table there was NO seafood in it. Just noodles and veggies. I was like WTF. This shit ain't right. No shrimp or squid in sight. I told our waitress and she was like huh and looked confused but quickly apologized and took it back. She came back 3 minutes later with the dish. Instead of making us a new correct order they clearly just dumped the old plate and added the seafood and gave it back to us. Then after eating for 10 minutes our waitress comes back and asks us if we needed boxes. Why, yes. We need some motha fuckin boxes cause im clearly done eating **insert sarcasm** But seriously tho, we just barely got our food so ..no, I'm not done eating but thanks for asking. Christmas Day evening, everywhere closed, luckily not Jai Thai! 4 of us went there at 6pm, initially was told there'd be an hour wait - yikes, who knew it would be so popular that night? The hostess then said there was a table by the window with floor seating available immediately, yay! Somewhat uncomfortable to be sitting criss-cross for an hour and a half, but we were starving, and it worked out in the end. We ordered a bunch of appetizers (Crab Rangoon, Egg Rolls, Chicken Satay), and 4 main dishes, ranging from soup to one of the specials. All tasty, good service (our waitress was super busy all night, but had a smile on and was trying her best to get to everyone quickly.) Reasonable price, couldn't have asked for more. I liked this place. I had fresh spring rolls with a plum barbecue sauce, Green Curry with tofu (i thought it tasted like body lotion) and Pad Tai with tofu. All very good but not great.My guest who knew more about tai food then me were kinda cautious for the spice, so we had spice rating of 2-3 which was not spicy at all but it could of had more spice. Jai Thai also serve more exotic dishes that is more for the adventurous,like meat served in blood broth. I would come here again. read more
