The service here was amazing! Gina sat me after a warm welcome during lunch time on a Friday. Gina was very attentive and extremely friendly with all of the people she was serving and it was evident that she was a favorite of all the repeat customers. I sat there for a couple hours during a pretty steady lunchtime while I was working and I watched as she was just as friendly and charming to everyone she served. spent a few weeks in Keller work work training and spent my weekends in Frisco. Came to Jake'a on my birthday, and it quickly became a staple. The Bartenders are well versed, so I came back, the food is delicious and the prices are spot on. Came back again and again because of the friendliness of the waitstaff. Sports on the TV's and the perfect music playing on the patio, none of the tvs or music is overbearing. You can still have a conversation and not have to repeat yourself 30 times. I don't have a single complaint! I can't name everyone on staff, but they all deserve the kudos. I may live in Oklahoma, but Jake's helped secure my weekends will be spent in Frisco! come for the food and drinks, come back for the waitstaff. you won't be disappointed! read more

Jake's used to be one of the best burgers I knew. Came Sept 30 at 7pm. Didn't get appetizers till 7:39pm Are burgers came about 7:45.... Cold. All three burgers - cold. Like not even heat lamp warm. The only "remedies" offered are 1) take good and give refund 2) take food and remake after it already took forever to get food 3) some comped appetizers... but we already had 3 ordered I just told them not to worry about it and bring boxes to take home and microwave. Asked for the check.... 20 minutes later and we still haven't seen the check. They used to be amazing, or at least the McKinney Avenue one in Dallas is. Was. Appetizers were amazing. We started with the hand breaded mushrooms and the mozzarella sticks. Mushrooms aren't my thing but my boyfriend enjoyed them, and I LOVED the mozzarella sticks!! For our entrees, I went with the Jalapeno Bottle Cap Burger and he got the Kickin Chicken Fried Bacon Burger. Both were awesome!! What can I say about 'Jake's.' Let's call it the shakey Jake's. First, the queso came out looking like melted velveeta cheese. Handmade? I don't think so. Handmade from a plastic cow. The peppers inside the queso looked like it was vomit chunks scraped off the bathroom floor. Chips were lackluster at best. The house Chardonnay, which came recommended, tasted like it was made in the toilet. When our entrees arrived, the burger was a hue of ash grey, which I've never seen before. The fries, as has been stated in previous reviews, resembled a limp potato noodle. And here's the real banger, we were walking out, and my boyfriend contracted immediate GOUT. WTF?! Well this probably is evidence that they have lots of customers who come back often and really like the place. This is a return trip here after many years for us. Our granddaughter is a waitress here for the summer, so that is the motivation. She recommended the bottle cap burger (jalapeño) which I went for. My wife stuck with the salad. Our friend the vegan got the black bean burger. The verdict? We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Even on a rainy night, the crowd kept coming in. Definitely not what Jake's used to be. Bun was over toasted- a gross crumbly mess. Ordered my burger with only tomatoes, mayo and pickles but it came piled high with lettuce. Had to ask for mayo for my burger since it was so dry, when they finally brought it, my burger was cold. It was dried out and overcooked to begin with and I should have just sent it back when it came out wrong. Used to always go to the Jake's in Addison and it was always wonderful. Definitely won't be stopping here again on the way home. The women's restroom was also disgusting. Get a plunger and fix the problem - it's been this way a while it seems per reviews. Not a full restaurant , not shortstaffed- lazily staffed. Took a while before anyone even noticed we entered. Waiters drawing pictures on their order pads and talking seemed more important. read more

Been a fan since the late 80s in Dallas, and have eaten here at this one in Frisco many times, as it's a consistently great burger, but had the chicken fried ribeye today, and they did not disappoint!
