She was bowled over when the manager brought her over fresh chips to try for free. FOOD: I had the lunch special--half a grilled cheese, tortilla soup and pickled cucumbers. It was outstanding. Stopped by for lunch and couldn't decide what to have so I nabbed the blue burger and it was great! Super juicy and just the right amount of blue cheese and toppings. Nothing to go home to about the fries just normal frozen fries but it hit the spot. I've been to other Lazy Dog locations for dinner but this was my first time for brunch, and it was a pretty mediocre experience when it came to the food. The overall menu is very extensive with items ranging from burgers to sandwiches to Asian-inspired bowls and more. On top of their regular menu, they also have a brunch menu that is served until 2pm, so both my fiance and I ordered brunch dishes (as I'm a HUGE fan of breakfast foods). I got the lumberjack pancake tacos which were solid. It's a unique take on regular tacos in that the tortillas get replaced by pancakes enclosing a breakfast filling (bacon, fried egg, cheese, and potatoes). The dish comes with a side of tater tots and a cajun gravy sauce. The pancake tacos were a bit hard to eat like regular tacos so I ended up just using fork & knife which worked out great. I enjoyed the cajun gravy as well and really liked the overall mix of flavors and textures! My fiance got the breakfast club which was a big miss... He described it as an avocado & egg biscuit sandwich because there was barely any bacon to be found, and what little bacon there was looked more like bacon bits as opposed to actual bacon strips. Good food but the service is iffy. I've been to the Addison Lazy Dog location many times, mostly sitting at the bar. I've been to this location about 3 times now, and every time I've sat at the bar, the service hasn't been the best. Even with it not being busy, I'm frequently not acknowledged timely and have to flag someone down for assistance. Last night (a Tuesday), I sat at the bar for a while before being acknowledged. Upon being greeted, the bartender quickly gave me my cocktail and water. I was ready to order my meal when she brought my drink, but she quickly turned and walked away to assist other customers. I waited patiently for a while. When she went to assist additional people and passed me, I got her attention to ask if she could help me when she got a chance, but she rudely cut me off saying "give me a minute," as if I was in the wrong. Ma'am, I've been waiting for over 10 minutes to order food from you and haven't been rude about it like I could have been. It all made me feel unwelcomed. One of her coworkers immediately came over and assisted me, which I appreciate. The food is good just like the other location. My friend & I had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday at Lazy Dog! We ate on their large, covered patio. Our waiter was very friendly and welcomed us as this was our first time at Lazy Dog. He brought us a free appetizer of chef's chips (homemade potato chips with dipping sauce that were yummy), which he said was because we were first time visitors. The manager came by later and welcomed us as well. I got a cheeseburger and my friend got the ribs. The food was great and were very large portions. They offered my friend a free dessert for her birthday and she selected a pie. Let me preface this with the fact that I order meals through LunchDrop with my office but I want to share my food experience through that lens. The burger arrived at room temp which is dependent on the delivery person but was juicy and cooked to a solid medium. There was a really good meat to bun ratio and the bun was toasted on the inside which helped prevent it from becoming soggy. Meat could've been a bit better seasoned. The bbq ranch was very sweet and somewhat overpowering. I typically like to add jalapeños to my burgers but that wasn't an option but likely due to the LunchDrop options. The onion rings were well prepped and not soggy which was good. I hate when they're hot and they steam inside the containers. My only complaint was that there should've been more for the price. The sauce they provided was really good though and I actually would dip the burger in it along with the onion rings. Overall it was a good experience and I'd order from there again. read more

The food is definitely a hit or miss, same goes for their cocktails. Not always consistent, but it makes sense since the menu is so big. The food there is basically glorified bar food, which is still good. Definitely recommend the cajun fries; I believe this item is always consistent as far as I know. I've tried the crispy tuna rice once and it was great. I tried the cheese curds once and it was extremely over cooked, super hard and stiff. The desserts weren't that great either. The all American burgers are good as well-my party ordered one well done and the other med well, but once we got the food, the server told us it doesn't really matter because they have thin slices. So far, only one server stood out to us the most (we don't remember his name, but he was so sweet and funny), whereas the other ones are just averagely good. Ambiance is casual and chill. I've been coming to this Lazy Dog since it opened years ago, and I'm a fan! I appreciate that the menu is so large and has something for everyone. The restaurant is spacious and usually the wait isn't too long, even on a weekend. You can join the waitlist online and check in when you arrive, which is super helpful. The service is usually pretty good, and the food comes out fast. I think once you figure out what dishes you enjoy (some are hit or miss), it makes the experience great. The best deal is their lunch menu, which allows you to get a 1/2 sandwich, salad, and fries for around $10 - so much food!! Taking one star off because I do think apart from the lunch special, Lazy Dog is fairly expensive for the portion sizes you get.
