The food at Jalapeños 2 is legit and well priced. Unfortunately the flavor is mid. Sometimes the taco meat is reheated from the day before. The location is not bad and they seem to keep it clean. The cashiers are somewhat friendly but don't seem to care much. Might need to try them again. read more

Family run, clean & the staff members are amazing. On our 2nd visit, they remembered what we ordered & where we sat on our 1st time there. The food is really good & they serve Coca Cola products (a blessing here in Pepsi land).. Refills on sodas are free. Limited beer & Sutter Home wine sales are available. Delicious good! Ordered lunch here for 6 of us last Friday. We ordered the Diablo Shrimp ( 4 orders) and the Carne Asadas ( 4 orders) plus I also ordered 12 fish, 12 chicken and 12 beef tacos. I like to eat!! Everything we ordered was delicious and very tasty! The shrimp plates were very tasty and spicy hot with flavor. The found was delicious! But let's start with the price for quantity. I was surprised to pay $9 for half a quesadilla. The sour cream, pico, and guac that came with the quesadilla tasted great but it was the smallest amount! I made sure to get an extra side of guac and it was barely a side of guac. Went here for the first time on our way out of town. It was just okay. We ordered a shrimp taco salad and a breakfast burrito. It was a take-out order. I had requested no beans and there were beans. The shrimp were tiny, because it looked like they were chopped up into tiny pieces. Flavor was good though. We also ordered a breakfast burrito and that was just okay too. It was good enough. Not bad. Stay away from ordering the fries. They only have one size and at $5.99 we thought we would get a fair amount of fries. When we opened the container, the portion was so shockingly small. I suppose that is the risks when getting an order to go ... when you finally open it up, find that it's not what you expected, but it's too late to return it. We may or may not go back. It's okay tasting for fast food, but it's way too pricey for what you finally end up getting. Maybe it's better to dine in. Service was great though. Gal was nice, helpful and friendly. read more

Nice little Mexican food restaurant. Started off with a shrimp taco and also ordered the "camarón momias" I got 8 good size shrimp wrapped in crispy bacon served with rice and French fries. They have a good menu of about 40 things to order from. They were open by 9am. They have good portions and most of their menu is between $9-$13. Cashier and cook were friendly. moved down the road from this spot, so i had to try it out. only got their asada tacos, but not a single fatty piece in all three will update as i try more things. i will say their hot salsa was not hot, but maybe just a bad pepper batch. overall love so far, and the girl working was very nice. read more

Nice Mexican restaurant with a nice touch of design inside it. Clean & Nice friendly staff when ordering & knowledgeable on their menu. I got their tacos for lunch. I got the carne asada & chicken tacos. Then a beer to unwind . Good location off the freeway & plenty of parking space. My tacos was freshly made with condiments & the meat itself. Most chicken tacos I've had have been dry to where I have to put a lot of sauce to moisten it but not this one! This chicken taco was fresh & juicy when I got my first bite! The carne asada was really good & good portion cut of meat. My order was good for lunch time as I didn't want to be too full after. I haven't been to their first location yet but this one here by NW Reno has definitely earned my go to when craving for some Mexican food. I'll be back as well for more on their menu! They are so amazing and delicious and for a little over a buck a taco this is an easy "fast food" choice that isn't fast food quality. I've never had a bad meal here and visit frequently because we live in the area. I'm kind of a taco snob and these guys always hit the mark! Their salsa bar is also rad! We just moved to Northwest Reno and decided to give Jalapeno's a try as a go-to place in the neighborhood. We ordered two chorizo breakfast burritos on a Saturday morning around 10 am and they were ready to go in less than 10 minutes. For $14 we were not only happy, but very full. Both burritos were stuffed with eggs, chorizo, beans, and cheese. We couldn't even finish them in one sitting, which meant we had breakfast for the next day as well! We enjoyed breakfast on Saturday so much that when lunch rolled around on Sunday, we decided to give Jalapeno's a go again. This time we ordered carne asada fries and a carnitas burrito. Again the food was ready to go in 10 minutes, and for $14 we were happy and full. The fries came loaded with guacamole, cheese, and sour cream. The carnitas burrito was loaded with carnitas, beans, rice, cheese, and sour cream. The carnitas were extremely tender. They have a full service salsa bard with mild, medium, and hot sauces. The mild sauce (green) is so favorful. My husband really enjoyed the hot sauce. The sals bar also has carrots, lime, and other traditional salsa bar toppings. In addition to soft drinks they offer mini bottles of wine. This little gem is tucked into the corner of a large shopping center with an odd collection of stores and medical buildings. It's really clean and both times I was there they had quite a few customers. We'll definitely be regulars here. read more

Great little neighborhood find that all the locals go to. We ordered the chicken tostado, Jalapeño Salad with grilled shrimp and a carne asada salad. Generous portions and all ingredients were fresh and delicious. Serve yourself salsa and chips bar with an assortment of pico de gallo, green and red "hot" sauces. Tried this place close to me the other night. Having been on a strict diet it was a well awaited cheat day. Ordered the Carne Asada wet burrito. The thing was huge. I only ate a fourth of it. The red sauce was good however the burrito itself lacked the quintessential Mexican flavors that I was so craving. The meat was tender, had an even amount of rice and beans but I'd love to have seen more cheese and spices. May have been an off day as the reviews are good. Food was cold and messy. Picked up a to go order and when i opened it at home, the beans were all in the same compartment as the tacos so the tacos were full of beans on the bottoms. The scoop of rice was also in the taco compartment. So i had a whole serving of rice in a taco. Completely lousy and careless service, very disappointing as i have been a long time customer. We figured we'd check out this place and we're very glad we did. It's a fairly small restaurant, very close to the St. Mary's medical clinic off Sharlands. It has maybe 5-6 tables inside and two outside. They have a small selection of beer and wine. My husband ordered the #2-chile rellenos and an enchilada instead of a taco (staff offered this substitution). He really liked his meal. I had a taco salad that was surprisingly good--quality ingredients (NOT iceberg lettuce) and a generous portion of flavorful shredded chicken. We will definitely be back. read more

This place is the flippin' bomb. So damn good. Best Mexican food I've had in Reno. I had the flautas, light crispy and perfect. The rice and beans taste fresh. The guacamole and fresh pico are superb. My husband had the chorizo and egg burrito and he said it's in his top 3 (we are originally from SoCal so our standards for good Mexican food are a bit high ). You have a choice of beers, foreign and domestic, all bottled, and sodas or juice. Good choices for kids too! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual environment with outstanding food and a broad menu. Two thumbs way up! read more
