    Pick up area.

I travel the Caribbean multiple times a year for the last 30+ years, it's basically my second home. When I'm in the states, this place hits just like Aunties kitchen! It even resembles a typical Caribbean take away on the islands. Boi, you can not find better tasting Jamaican food in our area! This was the first time for festival bread and it was also very flavorful and tastes just like Grammies. I have to drive approx 50 min to pick up, and it's totally worth the drive. If you need a taste of real island food, this is the spot. Thanks for great service.

Wow. Some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. It is the definition of a hole in the wall as it is literally inside of a gas station but do not let that deter you. The food is authentic, the service is authentic and they have so many options especially for vegans and vegetarians. I ate my food so fast and I'm usually a slow eater so that should tell you how good it was.

Mirage was surprisingly good. I got the oxtails and the goat, with the festival and rice with gravy. Definitely try the festival!! It was so good. The oxtails were pretty good, but there wasn't that much meat in them so it wasn't very filling. The goat was good as well. All in all I will definitely be back.

Food... AMAZING! I'm very picky with my Caribbean food, growing up on it, and this place (now called Jamaican Spice) did not disappoint! Food was great, I ordered a large Curry Goat with Stir-Fry Cabbage and rice and peas, portions were big, food fresh and delicious! I want to go back for more!! Plus, finding a place that has my favorite drink Ting, just brought excitement! I hope they plan to add some things to the menu soon. The place isn't in the greatest of locations, and it's a hole in the wall, but the food is well worth it!

Not bad , very sweet but okay

Horrible !!!! Just nasty ! I ordered 2 meals and so did my friend . 1 was stew chicken with white rice and cabbage to eat for dinner and jerk chicken for lunch !!! This is the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted in my life . The chef didn't even remove the skin on the meat . The chicken was pink on the inside ! And the rice was sticky and too sweet ! The stew chicken taste as if I'm eating literal sugar ! Worst thing I've ever tasted ! Jerk was nasty too! My American friend couldn't even eat hers ! We will make sure never to go there again! We should have known when we found out it was in a gas station! Then the cashier couldn't explain food properly !' Not to mention she is American ! Just horrible ! This is BARFARONI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The people were very nice but the beef patties are prepackaged from Costco/BJs. Pass on this one.

Very bad. Food did not taste good. It came out of a freezer wrapped in plastic and was supposed to be some kind of sandwich or something.

I asked the…read morecashier if I could have that same sandwich, and he said it was actually made for himself. I said, could I have the same thing? And he said "you know what, just have it I'll make myself a new one." The chef offered me to try a piece first because it was off-menu, and it was the best thing I've eaten in Toledo. They charged me $10 flat and sent me on my way with the sandwich. Great Service, greater food.

YES!!!!! Finally,…read moreafter nearly 10 years living back in Toledo, this place has opened! Real NYC-style chicken and rice. If you ever lived in NYC you know what I'm talking about. This is the real deal. The guy who runs it used to run a deli in Brooklyn. Toledo has plenty of good Lebanese shawarma platters, but this is a different category. Nothing else scratches the itch. They upped their price to about $15, but when they did that they increased the portion size and included a drink and a bag of chips for free, so I think it's still a pretty good deal. Often they'll mix in some fries with the platter, too. As well as lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions and peppers. And they have Vernors, which you can't usually get at NYC halal trucks. So it's almost like NYC-Detroit fusion, the best of both worlds LOL! I haven't tried the rest of their menu much. I tried a lemon chicken sandwich once, and it was not on par with the ones that I've from the better delis in Harlem and The Bronx. It was kind of soggy and salty. I might try more of the subs at some point, but I really think of this as a one dish place for now, in spite of their long menu. I think it's hard to express just how happy I am to have this place a short drive from me. The cost to obtain one of my favorite foods from my home in Toledo went down from about $500 and several hours of travel (the price of a round-trip flight to LaGuardia plus one night in a hotel in Queens) down to about $15 and a 10 minute drive.

"Dog shit...fitting for Toledo?" Fitting for Toledo? Dude...fuck you and your single Mickey Mouse review consisting of 1 short paragraph. Alrighty then... One of other "one star reviews" focuses on rude service. That seems legit, but I didn't get any of that. For us, the service was accurate, very fast and very friendly. One caveat...we got there just before a flood of customers. If we'd gotten there 20 minutes later, I suspect we'd have had to wait. Atmosphere. Clean, comfortable. Yeah, the decorations, especially the wall decorations are, uh, predictable but eclectic. Farmhouse style signs, signed pics of athletes, Toledo street scenes from across the decades, UT stuff, etc. but like I said, clean and comfortable. The food rates a solid 4 stars. This rating also takes into account the massive menu. Lots of options. The smothered and covered hash browns were great. My son enjoyed the country fried steak, and said that it stacks up favorably to others in town. His eggs needed pepper and salt. My Denver omelet? Excellent. The coffee did NOT taste like dishwater...it tasted like diner coffee. Would I come here for coffee only? Nope. Location: On Bancroft near the 7/11. Very convenient for hung over UT students. This place has been a black hole for diners ever since Rick moved out on Monroe street. Hopefully Steven's Skillet will be around for a while. SOLID 4 STARS!
