    Pick up area.

I travel the Caribbean multiple times a year for the last 30+ years, it's basically my second home. When I'm in the states, this place hits just like Aunties kitchen! It even resembles a typical Caribbean take away on the islands. Boi, you can not find better tasting Jamaican food in our area! This was the first time for festival bread and it was also very flavorful and tastes just like Grammies. I have to drive approx 50 min to pick up, and it's totally worth the drive. If you need a taste of real island food, this is the spot. Thanks for great service.

Wow. Some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. It is the definition of a hole in the wall as it is literally inside of a gas station but do not let that deter you. The food is authentic, the service is authentic and they have so many options especially for vegans and vegetarians. I ate my food so fast and I'm usually a slow eater so that should tell you how good it was.

Oxtails and goat with festival and rice with gravy.

Mirage was surprisingly good. I got the oxtails and the goat, with the festival and rice with gravy. Definitely try the festival!! It was so good. The oxtails were pretty good, but there wasn't that much meat in them so it wasn't very filling. The goat was good as well. All in all I will definitely be back.

Food... AMAZING! I'm very picky with my Caribbean food, growing up on it, and this place (now called Jamaican Spice) did not disappoint! Food was great, I ordered a large Curry Goat with Stir-Fry Cabbage and rice and peas, portions were big, food fresh and delicious! I want to go back for more!! Plus, finding a place that has my favorite drink Ting, just brought excitement! I hope they plan to add some things to the menu soon. The place isn't in the greatest of locations, and it's a hole in the wall, but the food is well worth it!

Not bad , very sweet but okay

Horrible !!!! Just nasty ! I ordered 2 meals and so did my friend . 1 was stew chicken with white rice and cabbage to eat for dinner and jerk chicken for lunch !!! This is the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted in my life . The chef didn't even remove the skin on the meat . The chicken was pink on the inside ! And the rice was sticky and too sweet ! The stew chicken taste as if I'm eating literal sugar ! Worst thing I've ever tasted ! Jerk was nasty too! My American friend couldn't even eat hers ! We will make sure never to go there again! We should have known when we found out it was in a gas station! Then the cashier couldn't explain food properly !' Not to mention she is American ! Just horrible ! This is BARFARONI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerk chicken with rice and peas.

I've been eyeing Jamaican Spice online for a while. I already get top notch Jamaican in Ann Arbor, but when a opportunity came up for me to see how well Toledo's version fares, I jumped at the chance. I had jerk chicken, rice and peas, and plantains, requesting they make it as spicy as possible. Unfortunately the chicken only comes in one spice level, so they gave me a side of hot sauce. Fortunately I still have some ghost peppers in the freezer from last season, so I thawed and diced one of those up and tossed it in with the rice. The chicken was cooked perfectly and very nice tasting. I couldn't taste the coconut milk normally found in rice and peas, but they were a hit with bold and balanced flavors. The plantains could have been much softer and sweeter; Those were lacking overall. I came into this with low expectations, but so far in my experience I'm impressed. I'll be returning for more jerk when I'm in the area and will try some more of the other menu offerings.

THE best middle eastern food in Toledo!…read more Currently in Bowling Green, about 35 minutes south, any time I'm in the 419 - I try to stop here! My go-to is the chicken shawarma dinner plate. As much as I'd like to say I've tried more dishes here, I can't... because their chicken shawarma is too good to steer away! Lovely portions for the $20 price tag. I'm very hard to fill-up, but they manage to do it here. The large portion sizes is what ultimately keeps me coming back. Owner & management - please keep it up! Kind staff. Very accommodating. Treated like family while dining in. Newly remodeled dining area that's especially nice. The ONLY knock I have is a 7% fee for dining - which appears to be a new charge. Food is prepared on a paper plate and served on a plastic tray that you return when throwing away trash. The additional expense to eat in is not justifiable. There is also a 3% non-cash fee. Be prepared to spend an additional 10% menu price if you plan to dine in & pay with card. Overall, I thoroughly love this place, and will continue to eat here a LOT as long as prices remain manageable and portions stay large. I very highly recommend!
