Quick Snapshot - Fast service, excellent food, and reasonable prices…read more Detailed Review - If you find yourself in the Hillsboro area, this sandwich shop is well worth a visit. The café itself is simple, clean, and cozy, with a small outdoor seating area available. Their menu features a variety of sandwiches and burgers to choose from. On a previous visit, I tried the elk burger, which was excellent. This time, I ordered the roast beef sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The bread was lightly toasted, the portion of meat was generous, and the sandwich itself was hearty and satisfying. Service was quick and efficient, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch. While the space is modest, it is well-maintained and comfortable. They also operate a butcher shop next door, which has become one of my favorite places to purchase quality meats--I plan to review that separately in the future. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Fresh and flavorful,! My husband had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Enough for two people. Lots of meat, thick bacon lettuce and tomato. Wish I lived closer as this would be one of my go tops for a great burger

We've started thinking of this place as our go-to for a casual breakfast/brunch. The service and…read morefood is always consistently good, and I'm a huge fan of the Veggie Grinder, which allows me to trick myself into thinking I'm eating healthy (cuz, veggies!). This sandwich has Gouda cheese, baby peppers, sweet onion, lettuce and a house bean spread, all on their bakery fresh bread. It has just the right level of zip to light up those taste buds. Paired with a nice cup of java, and I'm a happy camper there. Just the smell of freshly baked/baking bread alone is a nice wakeup. I've had other breakfast sandwich options there as well, and all have been great for me (tastewise!). My only complaint is the location/parking, which can be a little snarly. Absent that, we love this place. Writing this review makes we want to head down there right now!

My husband and I regularly go to Grand Central Bakery because we like the freshly baked loaves of…read morebread. We usually get the Sourdough (5 stars) and Sourdough Potato (5 stars). They have a crusty exterior with a soft interior that's perfect for sandwiches or as is. We also like the Goldendale Whole Wheat (5 stars). When I want something sweet, I usually get the Chocolate Chip Cookie (5 stars). The cookie has that nostalgic homemade flavor and texture that is simply satisfying. I also like the Blueberry Muffin (4 stars), Chocolate Croissant (4 stars), and Blueberry Scone (4 stars). I once tried the Sausage Egg Biscuit (3 stars). It was good, but I don't think I would order it again. I prefer the bakery items, and it's why we return. I like the variety of options with 4 star service.

Let me start by saying I didn't take pictures. For anyone who reads my reviews, that's a big part…read moreof them: ALL THE PICTURES. Presentation, portions, half eaten, etc... but I didn't. Because the food was so damn good. Look - I'm going to start off by saying I grew up practically on The Hill. Out here, you'll have to Google it (make sure to add 'RI' to the search or you'll get some political BS), but back east, "alls you's have ta say" was those two words and anyone would know you knew your Italian, food and otherwise. There isn't anything on this coast that vaguely compares to The Hill's food, but walking into and biting out of Geraldi's was having a little piece of home. There's this little shop in the old town where the owner knew your voice when you called to order... you'd walk in, and you heard "hey cousin!" whether you were or not, and that's the vibe you get from Geraldi's. The food is much the same - you get something that looks like Nonna was at the range all day with her sauce (it's not gravy - no meat) and you came home looking like you haven't eaten in weeks: "I'm gonna fatten you up before you leave" and you walked out the door with a sub (sandwich, that is - not a submarine) that weighed the same as a newborn. We got three of those babies: a Chicago Beef (seal of approval from the orderer - only 'complaint' was that they had to eat it all in one day because the bread was quote too soggy to make it to lunch the next day - travesty), an Italian sausage (just as delicious when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and a Chicken Parmeroni (I thought somehow even better when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and I could have absolutely gone back the next day if it weren't for A. the leftovers 2/3 of us had and B. the meal planning we'd done for the week. I also grabbed a side of giardiniera because I will get it anytime I see it available and I inhaled it - I need to know if I can by it by the vat instead of the side cups because it too was similar to what I can find at home (about practically nowhere out here) and amazing!! I'm still upset I didn't take pictures though!
