I was extremely disappointed with the way I was treated on Thursday at this location and it is not the first time. I ordered a large size smoothie and received a medium size. I would have been happy to hear "I am sorry" or "we made a mistake" but there was no acknowledgment of the mistake. It seemed like they just didn't care at all and they just starred at me like I was at fault. The associate that initially took my order seemed new but she should not have argued about a medium size smoothie being large. Another associate had to come to assist me because the initial associate thought the medium was a large. To make matters worse, the smoothie I received tasted like water because the associate rushed to make it. I am a big fan of Jamba Juice but this experience was a waste of my time. I didn't even drink the smoothie because it was awful. I hope you find a resolution for this location so the associate don't continue to burn the business down to the ground. Aside from the parking lot which I avoid by parking on the street, this is one of my favorite JJ locations. The place is spacious, clean, and they have great customer service. My go to here is usually the Aloha pineapple and the Razz. This time I tried the all juice Peach Paradise, and it was very good, not too sweet and the perfect consistency. I was greeted by a really nice woman, she greeted everyone who walked through the door actually. She welcomed me to the neighborhood and handed me brochure to take home with me. Oh Jamba Juice, you've changed so much over the past few years :( Drinks have gotten marginally expensive and the cups have gotten so much smaller. I used to come to Jamba often just because the price was suitable for the product, but I had to cut back since they raised the price. I usually order the Caribbean Passion and/or Strawberry Surf Rider. The Caribbean Passion isn't what it used to be. It sort of tastes plain and not as flavorful like before. Maybe the switched up the ingredients? The Strawberry Surf Rider is still up to par from what I can remember--sweet and delicious. I like how they offer new items for breakfast. They also work fast because they made my drink in only a couple of minutes, even with customers ahead and behind me. This store is clean and bright, situated on the corner of Atlantic and Carson. It's near The Coffee Bean and Trader Joe's. It's also near the 101/103 and 61 bus stop. They accepted my black and white, photocopied coupon. Plus, the security guard was so nice that she knew I had my headphones on and didn't hear them call my name for my drink and she informed me. I was in the area of Bixby Knolls and I was in the mood for something healthy when I observed a Jamba Juice. I decided I would stop and get an Acai berry Antioxidant drink. The parking for this location is a nightmare. You are required to wait in an adjacent alley to find a space which causes traffic to back up quickly. Just during the time I was waiting for a space other drivers seemed frustrated and sped past vehicles that were stopped and waiting. This did not stop me, I figured I was here and I was going to get my drink. I had just about a half an hour till a business meeting so time was of the essence. When I first walked in the doors of this Jamba Juice I immediately noticed how dirty the floor was. When I say dirty, I mean dirty. The floor was littered with plastic cup tops, plastic straws & napkins. The floor looked like a group of elephants had just walked through the store. There was visible dirt in the form of shoe marks and not just a few but a lot of them. Where in Bixby Knolls on a hot day are you going to find mud? Answer the floor of this Jamba Juice. I also noticed how loud the music in this business was. It was so loud that if you were waiting for your order you could not hear your name or number called which caused a huge backup of people all coming to the counter at the same time wondering where there order was and when it would be ready when in fact it was already ready. I wanted to wash up before ordering but prior to doing so I needed to obtain a key for the bathroom. Not having an open bathroom is one of the problems you run into outside of the South Bay. By the looks of the people that I was in line with is why they key the bathroom under lock & key. This isn't a problem in the South Bay but is here for some reason. I asked the cashier for the key and I was told it is in use. So I went back to the bathroom door and waited and waited and knocked and waited. I went back to the cashier after no joke waiting outside of the bathroom for 10 minutes asking if someone had returned the key. Again I was told the bathroom is in use. I told the cashier if someone is in there you might want to check up on them because I have been here for over 10 minutes and no one has come out. I went back to the bathroom and knocked but if the person was screaming for help inside I could not hear them because of the music being so loud. Time was ticking and I needed to put some food into my system before I continued on with my day. I abandoned my attempt to use the bathroom, waited in a line with an "eclectic" group of individuals. I ordered my drink, paid my money and waited directly in front of the counter so I could physically see when my order was ready because you could not even hear yourself think in this place. Once my drink was done I was out the door. I came by this Jamba Juice well after the lunch hour rush so there is no excuse for a place that serves food to have dirty floors, trash on the ground but when you are dealing with the people that I saw visiting this place and the employees I saw working here, there you go. As they say you reap what you sow. As a South Bay'er, I should never be aloud out of the South Bay because the people are different & dirty and this place was a prime example of such. If I could give no stars I would I've been to this place 2 times and both times it was terrible! The first time I ordered one of the new mango bowls. Shit was water! Like I order some juice and put it in a bowl! The second time in went and ordered one of the fresh press juices and a regular acai bowl. Now with my bowl I stated "no coconut (allergic) and granola on the side" she then came back after me already paying stating that there was NO FRESH FRUIT AT ALL in the store. Why was I not informed before my order was placed? I agreed to have just frozen fruit instead (trying to get to work on time) and the bowl was still incorrect and had coconut on it. My "fresh pressed" juice had over half a cup full of foam so I really only got about 10 sips/5 gulps of juice. I'll NEVER go back to this one. Not a fan of made to order drinks from chains that cost around $4-5... but damn it I really like the Protein Berry Workout. On the corner of Carson and Atlantic... easy parking... nice staff.... Try the Protein Berry Workout with whey... its basically strawberry banana with soymilk. What I like about it is that they don't put much ice so its very very smooth, kinda like a milkshake but not! Try it, it will be your new favorite (290 calories for a sixteen). Oh yeah... breakfast wraps are too small to pay $3 for!!! Just saying. Unfortunately, this store gets NO love from corporate or the owner and is losing customers weekly. It is NEVER open at 7:00 am - I usually leave for work around 7:30 am and there is rarely an employee at work yet. They have been through a ton of customer service people - but they are usually left on their own with newbies having to read the charts to figure out how to make something and the phone app turned off because they are overwhelmed. The last time the app was turned on, they could only make about 5 of the smoothies on the menu because they were out of everything. For this reason, they can't keep anyone employed because all they get are angry customers and the employees aren't paid enough to deal with that. Shut the location already if you can't find help or support the employees you do hire. Although this is literally across the street from where I live - I now go to the LB/Willow location a mile away to get my Friday smoothies. read more
