Special side dishes & rice for lunar 1/15 (they do it every year). 5 grains (beans) rice with 8 types of vegetable side dishes
    Kathy M.

Their food is consistently good. We ordered food to pick up to take to my inlaws. Didnt realize it was lunar 1/15 (정월 대보름) & they had special rice & extra side dishes. I'm not a fan of beans but their 5 grain rice which contained beans was very good. I liked the texture of the ri e as well as the taste. They were generous with the amount of rice & side dishes they packed for us. Cod stew was well done with the radish having the flavors of the seasoning well soaked in. The pork neck bone soup was well enjoyed by my husband & his mother. Mother-in-law commented the meat flavor was good & tender, "It melts in your mouth", she said. The restaurant was packed with older korean customers - i guess it's a big hit when they do this special rice & side dishes every year (on lunar 1/15). They had extra people working in the kitchen as well as in the dining area as they knew thereb will be a crowd coming tonight (it was 3/3 this year - lunar dates change every year).

    Kong guksu

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant serves authentic Korean dishes. I tried the kong guksu and was very well made. The cold soup was very thick, which I found to be unique unlike typical kong guksu. Portion sizes are huge as well. The restaurant stayed a bit warm at first, but the workers eventually turned on the AC.

3.75 rounded to a 4. This is an authentic and traditional Korean restaurant, like the ones you'd find in the rural seaside areas of S. Korea. The interior isn't anything stellar and this place is definitely a mom and pop shop. I could already tell by all the older folks that dine and takeout here. This place seems to specialize in fish-entrees. We ordered the kalchi gui, eundaegu jorim, and seafood pancake. If you come here, you should get a fish/seafood entree instead of a noodle or meat entree. The kalchi gui was sooooo good. The eundaegu jorim was good, but not the best I've had. The seafood pancake was very generous with the amount of seafood inside, but was slightly tough and not the best I've had. But still fair. I'd say the prices for the specific dishes we got were really fair though compared to other places. The dishes automatically come with banchan/side dishes, rice, and soybean soup. The soybean soup was not great, banchan was p good, and I have no complaints about the rice. Service was so friendly, kind, and attentive. They also seem to get a lot of regulars because of how friendly and personal they were with some of the tables. I'd say because this place is authentic, the flavors aren't super saturated with salt and sugar. The flavor is more in the fish, produce ingredients, and classic Korean fermented pastes. They don't like to hide the flavors with a ton of salt and sugar.

    Pork bossam

Quiet mom&pop shop. Great service, very authentic, HUGE PORTIONS! The bossam could probably feed 5 people. I plan to come back and try more dishes here.

    Samgyetang (Chicken ginseng soup)

Maybe we didn't order their specialty item.. but there was a "star" icon to show it as "popular item" . Honestly very disappointed in my Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup). So much rice, no soup. Definitely prepared differently than other places, all the ingredients were outside of the chicken. Overall - it was a big bowl of porridge.

    은대구조림

this is a TRADITIONAL korean restaurant, so whenever my grandma wants to eat out, we often come here. if you're used to americanized korean food, which ig you wouldn't be able to differentiate if you haven't had homemade korean food, maybe this isn't for you. but if you like traditional korean food like 은대구조림, this is nice. the lady who runs it doesn't speak fluent english, so if you don't speak korean, pls look into what dishes you want to order ahead of time. most customers are middle aged-elders
