Arrived for dinner close to closing time (the couple who own the restaurant were seated for their own dinner and the few back tables were not cleared). Thankfully the gentleman said we could still get dinner served. Got the octopus bibimbap : hot stone pot, we let the rice and octopus sit to get a nice crisp bottom crust . The galbi tang soup came with a very tender spare rib bone in, plus clear noodles. Broth was a little bit I enjoyed the kulkutsu dish: clear beef broth with thicker flat flour noodles, lots of sliced zucchini squash plus shredded carrots. It was very satisfying even without any meat. This used to be a poke bowl spot. Located in the plaza with a Walmart neighborhood store. One of the most authentic Korean restaurants I've been to in the U.S. To start, the side dishes were super delicious and things that aren't usually served in other places. They are very hearty and delicious. I was already impressed and excited about the food! We ordered braised mackerel with kimchi and it really hit the spot like my grandma made it. The flavor was deep and rich and everything you could ask for, salty, sweet, umami, spicy, tangy, deep. It's not too overpowering either. My coworker and I did not say a single word while eating. We got another round of rice because it was that good. Also, items on the menu are priced right and pretty comparable to other Korean spots. It was hard to choose what to get because everything seemed amazing. The items offered here include what you can expect at other Korean spots, like kalbi and bulgogi. But they also have other dishes that seem more traditional, like braised or grilled fish, strong soybean stew, dried radish bibimbap... It's a bit difficult to even translate (but I just know it's gonna be legit). We see a lot of older Korean moms, grandmas, and dads at this spot so you know it's good. This place is super low key and you won't really know about it unless you live near here or by word of mouth, but to my surprise the food is very fresh, tasty and the side dishes were all very good. However it is a bit on the pricier side for what it's worth. One of their specialty is the #3 casserole/stew dish on the menu. It is soybean paste based with korean spinach and handpulled flour with added brisket. It was very good. I docked a star because I packed up leftovers and had asked if I can get a little but of their kimchi to take home with my leftovers ans he said no because they sell their side dishes so he can't pack me any unless I want to buy some. I found this place in Yelp and I took my 1st gen Korean elders. They really liked it and there was more variety than the typical Korean restaurant. We had spicy acorn noodle (도토리 비빔국수) and that was perfect. Cooked just right and it was so delicious and refreshing w/the greens. The black bean soup (검정콩비지) was new to me but simple and good. It's ground black bean and tofu w/sesame oil. The last dish we had was braised cutlass (갈치 조림). That was ! The flavors were perfect and the radish/fish/tofu were perfect. We put out leftover rice in there and at up all the sauce at the end of our meal. Cutlass fish has a lot of bones but still worth it. The banchan (side dishes) were good, it was a bit warm in there, and you had to ask for everything (glass of water, plates, chopsticks), but it was delicious. Decided to try this new restaurant and I orderes total 3 meals. Each meal portion was very small, even not even enough for my 13 years old cousin. Side dish (banchan) was given only 1. Share was not possible since it was very little banchan. Wrapping/packing was sloppy, and food leaked. One of the meal was missing the main sauce, and another dish was made with not correct ingredients. Food tasted just average, but extremely salty and it is not worth $15-$23 per dish. I should have just gone to Daebak restaurant, which is near by. No good. Not recommended. read more

Authentic restaurant with lots of unique items on the menu that you don't see at other Korean restaurants! Hard to pick given so many choices, but everything we ate was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the brisket daenjang and the flavors were outstanding, he also raved about the dumplings (which can be either steamed or fried). We also had chicken appetizer and I ordered the kimchi jiggae, both of which were excellent as well! Meal was served with hot barley tea which was comforting on a chilly evening. Possibly the best tasting Korean restaurant in the area. 5 of us shared family style the braised cod, nakji fried rice, and hwangtae soup. I was happy the main dishes were not overly sweet as other places tend to do that more nowadays. Authentic Korean cuisine doesn't use sugar or corn syrup that much. I have to say unless you are Korean or come with a Korean you'll get service mi third time coming by my self and the never have tables available even the restaurant is empty or the employees prepping food on their tables. But when I was here with my friend "Korean" food was ok and they sell alcohol in a clear jar. Anyway don't come to this place there are a lot more better places. read more

The seasoning for all their food, including their side dishes (my family and I have tried their gamja soojebi, gobchang jungol, daktoritang, kalkugsu, nakji udon bokkeum) is perfect, not too overpowering, and so balanced..
